Pros: What I liked most was the ease of use and the ability to charge my customers properly. This is a great product.
Cons: What I liked least was the time it took to verify my business. I submitted all the paper work and I had to resubmit multiple times.

In the case of a small language center like ours, we can get by with Square online. It does not fit well with learning requirements - we operate around its retail orientation. It only required one weekend to create our site, and parents are confident in the payment system. Valuable when you require something basic that does not exceed your nonprofit budget.
Pros: Installing our course catalog was easy, I did it by myself without disturbing our IT person. The payment system is compatible with the card of our Swedish and Norwegian students. I like the fact that there is a sense of security regarding student information especially when dealing with the information of minors. The monthly fee is more affordable than other websites we have used in terms of our limited educational budget.
Cons: The check out system is confusing to some of the older students enrolling in conversation classes. Unable to automate the sending of reminder emails on homework submissions and schedule changes in classes, it remains a manual task. Only a few choices on how to tailor the course registration forms to the required language proficiency levels.

Easy for a non-programmer to integrate into a simple website. I didn’t run into any problems and neither did my customers.
Pros: Very easy to integrate with my Wordpress website. Surprisingly, The links all worked on my very first attempt.
Cons: Square charges merchant processing fees, so they take a cut of every transaction which is never fun. Shop around - fee vary widely.

Square has been very positive for us. We appreciate the safety/security of a large name, trusted brand, without the high cost that can often come along with that name. The cost for their equipment is reasonable. They are so frequently used that finding support is very easy as everyone I know uses them.
Pros: Square has been a powerful platform for our nonprofit. We are able to process payments with a premium feel product, without the ongoing costs that many other POS systems have. The pay-as-we go type structure is flexible for our nonprofit. We do not bill frequently enough to justify a monthly fee, and so this option has been incredible. It was super easy to make our own, customizing the products, prices, receipts, and options at the click of a button. It integrates powerfully with other tools that use. This makes sales online, over the phone, through invoice, or on-site at events a breeze, and the platform is easy enough that anyone on my team can use it with their user/team options.
Cons: We have faced some challenges when out on the site with connectivity of card readers, particularly those that connect via Bluetooth to an iPad. Once connected they are quick and easy to use, however the initial connection during a period can be tough. We are an infrequent use organization, since we accept payments with this platform during events, it could be months without using and I think this contributes to the difficulty versus it connecting to the device every day. I do find the iPad layout to be a bit more clunky, feeling like an enlarged iPhone layout versus its own dedicated design.

Overall ive had a good experience. No real complaints. I would 100% recommend using it for your business transactions
Pros: Easy use, customer first model, well made interface that allows for money management to be stress free
Cons: The only complaint i have with square online is the speed in which customer service requests are handled.

Easy to set up the payment system with card readers and then link it to the free website. Good support. Great payment facility - our members far prefer to pay online in advance or by card on the spot
Pros: I like the joined-up card reader and online payment facilities, especially with free website. By paying a bit more our members can login and check their past and coming orders.
Cons: Inability to accept bookings for later payment (online or via card reader) for things like club events

Overall, I find it easy to use, consumer friendly, great customer support and a total game changer for small businesses.
Pros: A great way to pay and get paid for services when you need to accept multiple credit cards and don't want to rely only on cash payments or bank transfers.
Cons: The fees are similar to what you pay for PayPal or other competitors. It would be nice if they were a bit lower.

Being able to manage a website and a storefront all in one with great functions and options is a dream come true!
Pros: This product has a great security and wonderful website customization. Payments and invoicing couldn’t be simpler. Great value for the money.
Cons: There was a little bit of a learning curve, which I always find difficult when trying to set up a new site or storefront.

Overall, Square Online has simplified the needs for any business, but for small businesses in particular. They provide many tools and services that serve a variety of needs for different businesses.
Pros: Square Online has a set of comprehensive features and point of sales systems that make starting a business easy without needing to build an entire website to sell products from scratch. The products they offer allow for both ecommerce and brick and mortar stores. Additionally, when tendering transactions, the sales tax is automatically calculated for you as the business.
Cons: The service fees in place for credit card and online transactions is kind of high. Square Online could do a better job of balancing the need to make money while allowing businesses to keep more of their hard earned money. Additionally, there could be some options for businesses that still handle cash in 2025.

In general, usage is seamless and friendly, interface works great, access and logins from all connected devices also great
Pros: Easy access, always loving the black and white interface of the platform, makes it easy to access numbers.
Cons: Seamless usage, absolutely no issues, would say least thing liked, it can take some time to get familiar well enough to understand the entire platform

It's reliable and works well. It makes a great, professional appearance of my business and it's easy to use.
Pros: They are continuing to update the program. New improvements, features and functionality continue to evolve with square.
Cons: Wish improvements could happen a bit quicker. Some additional functionality with pop-ups would be helpful.
John L. · President · Recreational Facilities and Services · July 30, 2025
Very poor. Even though I'm an admin on our account, for two years Square has not been able to verify me when I contact them for support. Even our store [sensitive content hidden] can't get help when he calls.
Pros: The design is intriguing. The website is driven directly from the POS data so there are no separate "product records". This makes inventory sync automatic but the backbone of the site is subject to the quality of the POS data.
Cons: Too many things to list fully. There is no reporting or management capability of images except one-at-a-time. For large image repositories, this is death. There is no built in under-construction concept so you have to build a fake page and then disable navigation to work on a dev site. To preview it, you have to turn on nav and preview while editing a live site. Large data sets are hopeless with their tools. Support is terrible. You get passed from department to department and often they can't verify your profile to help you. There is no way to build a content page that isn't a product record. Overall the development tools are not ready for prime time. Square sells you on using variations... beware. They have tons of limitations.

Customer service was quick to respond and very helpful in answering our multiple questions about using the service. The first time we used it, it went seamlessly. Have to say it continues to be seamless still.
Pros: As selling on-line was new to us, the ease of set-up was very welcome. Information on the website was extremely helpful in assisting to make an informed decision to use this service.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind currently as we have only used it for a very short time. (couple months). Since we are new to this e-commerce process, I am thinking there may come a time when it will get tedious or frustrating. Not sure. :)

I use Square Online to showcase my inventory to potential buyers, and I also use it in another business I own. This allows me to have a professional look and reach out to potential customers all across the country.
Pros: Square Online allows a Square user to create a website that directly integrates with the Square app. This means you get real time inventory adjustments and changes as well as being able to update your website right from the dashboard.
Cons: The only thing I don't really like about Square Online is all of the fancier design features are locked behind paywalls.
Orlando P. · Owner · Computer Hardware · June 17, 2025
Pros: Seamless integration to POS inventory and generally square customer list. Constant improvement in design options.
Cons: Inability to be more flexible with local delivery. Inability to set shipping/delivery at the item variation level. Clunky transactional email set up process. Stories function isn’t smooth when setting up new stories.
Joe F. · Owner · Retail · June 17, 2025
It was great starting out, but proved that it lacked the complexity to grow as my business grew. The low cost and user-friendly nature of the site is ideal when starting out.
Pros: The website builder was easy to navigate and the analytical were also very helpful. The square online analytics were about to pin point the time, location and funnel my website traffic was coming from
Cons: The website was very limited in its build. It was difficult to embed widgets and other code that was is produced by a third party such as a booking page, google analytics code etc. Example: Square does not allow certain pages to have sub drop down pages.
Jocelyn W. · Owner · Entertainment · June 3, 2025
I am currently looking to switch to another company because this is an ongoing problem and their team will not help me.
Pros: Used to be really easy and convenient to use for checkouts and order processing online or in store. The instant deposits very great.
Cons: These past 2 years of using square have been a nightmare. Customer Service is rude and no help. My system have glitches they will not help me fix. I purchased a $279 terminal and they will not fix or replace it after it malfunctioned.
Gabriel M. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · June 3, 2025
Appreciated being able to do secure POS and online sales in one spot. However, the dashboard is more confusing than necessary and setting up product SKUs can be laborious.
Pros: It was one of the earliest ways to do secure POS sales.
Cons: The clunky interface added confusion to the back end process.

I’ve loved using Square Online! It is a great platform with tons of helpful features!
Pros: Square Online is a great website builder! I love all of the features and super easy to use!!
Cons: I’ve had no issues with Square Online. It is super user friendly and easy to navigate!
Mikaela S. · Assistant Manager · Consumer Goods · April 17, 2025
Yes and no… but more yes. I’d say it works well about 75% of the time. The main issue is when the app malfunctions or goes down.
Pros: It’s great that customers can make payments while we’re on the go, and the system is very easy to use.
Cons: The Square app and card reader don’t always work reliably and tend to go down quite often, which is unfortunate.
Marcus C. · Managing Director · Consumer Services · April 15, 2025
It was a positive experience but I ended up choosing another provider.
Pros: It was easy to charge people for my camps.
Cons: Sometimes the fees were a little steep for my liking.

Overall square is very good and easy to use especially for small businesses
Pros: I like square because it’s very easy to use
Cons: I don’t have anything that’s bad to say about square
Yasmin D. · Ceo · Apparel & Fashion · March 29, 2025
Overall good! Very simple and streamlined for business use.
Pros: Free to send to you but then you pay a percentage of each transaction
Cons: You have to pay a portion of each transaction
Margaret W. · Artist · Accounting · March 14, 2025
The transactions work but the reports need careful editing and checking before the results can be input to the sales ledger. When I wanted some support, it was hopeless. The representative put up a barrier by requiring a separate set up before doing anything. The steps needed are listed, but one step is not on their website, meaning you are blocked from getting any support. When I pointed out their error, I was ignored. They describe their representative as "customer success". What they mean is "customer successfuly fobbed off". I managed to sort out my very simple query by going elsewhere.
Pros: Transactions work fairly well when set up properly.
Cons: Reports are poor quality - seemed to be designed by IT rather than accountants or book keepers. Customer support when needed very poor.
