I honestly avoid it as much as possible. The reality is that there are far more effective tools for lesson planning and teaching.
Pros: It's okay for basic engagement, but it's definitely limiting in what you can actually do. At some point, it's really just too geared towards elementary kids.
Cons: It's almost not enough to actually be worth using. I want students to be able to see things in ways that transform how they visualize abstract concepts, and this doesn't let me do that the way I was told they could.

I have used Nearpod since 2020 and it has been nothing short of amazing. My students love the diversity of Nearpod. It brings learning fun and engagement.
Pros: What I like most about Nearpod is the differentiation it offers for students in an E-Learning environment.
Cons: What I like least about Nearpod is the type or size of file that sometime may be too large to integrate. Sometimes I struggle with uploading a PowerPoint presentation due to the file size.

Overall I have had an outstanding experience with Nearpod, I’ve used it for at least 6 years now as a student, and I will continue to use it for my future classroom when I become a teacher! I love the different features that come with it and I know it is a great tool for getting students excited and engaged!
Pros: I love that it’s super easy to use and there is amazing customer support. It is great for online learning and students are very engaged in the lessons, great student and teacher management and interaction and it is a lot of fun! I never have any issues or bugs with it either!
Cons: There was absolutely nothing that I disliked about nearpod! I have used it for years and I love it! Such an amazing thing for the classroom!

Pros: Nearpod is a great platform for student engagement and management. It has an attractive user interface and integrates easily with programs like Google Classroom.
Cons: While allowing teachers to monitor student performance, Nearpod falls short of eliminating distractions for students. If it could block access to outside websites, it would be a game changer for classroom management.

Pros: Nearpod is excellent for classroom engagement and management. It allows teachers to monitor students as they present information and teach new content. Nearpod's slideshow presentations can be customized and easily shared on platforms such as Google Classroom.
Cons: Nearpod does not allow an option for teachers to block out other websites while the students are online. It would be great if this were an option, so that teachers know their students can only access the website they choose.

Pros: I like the activities that can be used on Nearpod. They can be very engaging for students. They have made many changes, though and I do not find it as user-friendly any longer.
Cons: The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They are unhelpful and there are many bugs. It is overpriced for individuals.

Overall I love that I can have student interact and assess if they are grasping the material by adding questions throughout or other interactive activities. Also, by having the ability to have video without leaving the nearpod presentation, then I don't have students venturing to other sites as we are going over the material.
Pros: I love the ability to interact with various types of questions and formats. I can add video or websites without my students leaving the lesson. It really cuts down on distractions when using technology. Students are really into gaming, so I have the option to "gamify" a lesson with gaming activities. The pre-made lessons are really great and engaging.
Cons: I don't like that the free subscription doesn't allow to use Google slides. I already have numerous presentations that I would love to use but can't with the free version. If you teach core classes there are a ton of ready made lessons to choose from, but I teach an elective so it is more limited.

Fun engaging content for learners who don't require accommodations. Can be used in online classrooms and in-person activities. Our ed studies department was all in on the pilot we had, but we couldn't sustain the institutional cost and use beyond the department due to accessibility concerns. Elementary ed instructors can use it because it is assumtion that student ents under the age of 18 are not subject to Section 508.
Pros: Classroom engagement tool for higher education classrooms
Cons: Accessibility concerns for higher education. Content must be able to be navigated and interpreted with screen readers.

My overall experience with Nearpod has been decent. Nearpod is not my favorite tool as a teacher, but it's still nice to be able to create interactive lessons for my students. I use Nearpod often when I am going to be out of the classroom and have a substitute teacher.
Pros: I have been using Nearpod in my classroom for the past few months. I like that the software is very easy to use and allows teachers to customize lessons and adapt pre-made content to fit their needs. When I first started out teaching, I created every single thing I used in the classroom. Once I learned there are programs for teachers, my life became so much easier. Nearpod is one of those programs that are great to have. Being able to integrate Nearpod with Microsoft Teams was very helpful. I am only using the free version at the moment but plan to buy a subscription.
Cons: The biggest con of Nearpod is the price of a subscription. The free version lacks many of the important features. Another complaint is a few times a week, students have trouble getting the app to connect. Once students refresh, it usually fixes the issue. But having 30 students having trouble is never good.

My overall experience has been great. Students are engaged, I can easily provide feedback, and it integrates with Google Slides.
Pros: Nearpod is very interactive and has a ton of ready-made content.
Cons: It takes a while to be able to use all the features with ease.

It's a good platform that the students enjoy using. It makes lessons interactive and engaging
Pros: Activities that you can create to engage students. Love the time to climb and interactive features. Like that you can embed videos and use what others have created
Cons: It can be time consuming to create activities and turn a PowerPoint into something interactive.
Cammie A. · Teacher · Education Management · December 11, 2024
It was a good experience, but I just didn't use it regularly enough to justify the cost once the free trial had run its course.
Pros: I like the ideas behind it and the variety of tools it offers.
Cons: I think, in the end, it's software that just relies too heavily on devices in front of students and may detract from a personal connection with students. Some of its tools are redundant with other software and may be slightly unnecessary. I can see, however, how some teachers may really use it well and benefit from it.

Pros: I like how Nearpod has changed and adapted over the years to meet the needs of the upcoming generational interests in digital tools. It seems like every time I visit the site, there are new features available. It is also easy to integrate into an LMS automatic sign in.
Cons: Nearpod would benefit from new branding because most people associate it with the way it used to be-- an online powerpoint platform.
Marina G. · Instructional Coach · Education Management · May 6, 2024
I used to love them but now I see they don't value their loyal customers, they only value money.
Pros: Everything was good until they stole my content.
Cons: $7d

Pros: What I love about Nearpod is the extensive library of lessons and activities for students. I also like that Nearpod had the extension for google slides to take existing PowerPoint and import them to Nearpod to make them more interactive.
Cons: The lessons can be isolated and don’t always build as a curriculum would, but it’s a great supplemental resources.
Heather C. · Teacher · E-Learning · November 23, 2023
Pros: I like that when provided with a nearpod link you can complete/participate in the nearpod at your own pace.
Cons: There is not anything that I do not enjoy about this software.

Tutors find it easy to use and engage students.
Pros: Ease of use - digital upskilling is made easy by Nearpod training and tutorials.
Cons: Back end Control Panel could be better.
Namaan M. · Digital Learning Manager · Education Management · February 18, 2023
Pros: Nearpod has so many options as far as features; it's a teacher's dream. You can see student responses easily and have them recorded. The possibilities are endless as long as you're creative.
Cons: Because Nearpod offers so many features, it can be difficult to learn how to navigate the software.
Hailey A. · Educator · Education Management · January 12, 2023

Cons: Sometimes there is a lag when seeing students screen

I had a really great learning experience while using Nearpod. I highly recommend it to all teachers and teaching institutions to integrate into their curriculum.
Pros: Nearpod turned an otherwise boring class into a great and fun learning experience. There were so many cool features that my teacher was able to use to keep our class engaged.
Cons: I don't have any complaints or cons about the software. The developers did a great job, and I only have positive things to say.

It is very good tool for interactive learning.
Pros: It is very simple tool for students interactive presentations contained quizzes, polls and videos. Very useful to make your module more interactive and interesting. Good point about it, while making the quiz and by mistake closed, once you re-logging in you are still there.
Cons: Some competitors have more functions than it. But considering the simplicity, it is the best.
Anonymous User · Student · Oil & Energy · November 20, 2022
Pros: Students love it. Teachers love it. Easy tool for admin to observe classes.
Cons: Not too much to complain about. Just learn to use it.
