Our nonprofit's communications committee uses this to manage social campaigns, newsletter production, design tasks, and email marketing. We tried Trello but switched to Freedcamp — we liked the UI more and it felt like a better fit. Before this we relied on email threads and Google Docs, which made it hard to stay organized. Good option for any small team that needs to stay on top of tasks without a lot of setup.
Pros: Very easy to get started with and intuitive to learn — our team picked it up right away. We can assign tasks, set due dates, and everyone knows what they're working on. We like being able to comment and attach files directly to tasks, and having separate boards for each area keeps everything from getting mixed together.
Cons: There really are no cons for a small team with our needs. A larger team may find it lacking in features.

Awesome, really took our company's workflow to a new level. We can stay on top of tasks and projects like we could not before.
Pros: The flexibility to assign tasks to a team and track it. The interface is simple and easy to use. Love the website
Cons: The mobile app could improve, does not work as easy as the website. Other than that I can not complain.

Pros: What I like most about Freedcamp is how much functionality it offers without forcing upgrades. The free plan provides real project structure, task ownership, deadlines, and collaboration tools that allow our nonprofit to operate efficiently, stay accountable, and scale systems without adding financial strain.
Cons: One drawback is limited task visualization options. Calendar, timeline, and advanced task views would make things easier to see workloads, deadlines, and dependencies at a glance.

Pros: As a Service Club hosting each year a big fundraising event, Freedcamp is very comprehensive (business plan) , great valuesfor you money as a non-profit, clean look, straightforward.
Cons: For our non-profit , hosting a big event , we needed the business plan otherwise no negatives that I can think of

Pros: Freedcamp is an easy to use software and for us as a nonprofit, we really are small and need something affordable. Freedcamp checks all the boxes of a project management platform anyone can use.
Cons: I would love Freedcamp to have a strong chat feature, such as a Slack or a Discord so that most of the communication can occur in the project management system. Having that feature would really put it over the top.

Freedcamp has helped Respek Indonesia Siaga manage multiple community projects with clear workflows, task assignments, and deadlines. It’s an excellent solution for nonprofit collaboration and team productivity.
Pros: Freedcamp’s simple interface and task features make it easy for our nonprofit team to stay organized and efficient.
Cons: The mobile app works well, but sometimes feels a little less smooth compared to the desktop version.

My overall experience has been excellent. It’s become the backbone of how we manage projects, and I honestly don’t know how we’d stay as organized without it, because I sure know we weren't before we found it. It gives us structure, accountability, and a single place where everything lives—tasks, discussions, policies, and even issues that pop up. It’s not just software we use; it’s part of our daily workflow, and it has genuinely made us more efficient as a team.
Pros: What I really like about Freedcamp is how it keeps everyone accountable without making things complicated. The task assignments and milestone tracking give us a clear picture of who’s responsible for what, and the time tracking is simple but effective. The built-in discussions make a huge difference. we don’t lose important conversations in email anymore, everything stays tied to the project. I also like the Wiki feature because it gives us one place to store policies and project info that anyone on the team can pull up when they need it. The issue tracker is another big plus, it helps us log problems as they come up, assign them, and follow them through until they’re actually resolved. For me, it’s the mix of accountability, organization, and transparency all wrapped into an affordable price that makes Freedcamp stand out.
Cons: Honestly, there isn’t much I dislike about Freedcamp. Every tool we’ve tried has its quirks, but with Freedcamp I haven’t run into anything that feels like a real drawback. The features we use work the way we need them to.

Overall, I found it intuitive, well organized and easy to build with teams. You def can’t beat the price! It’s free for the basic plan that has a lot of features. I upgraded to the pro plan to get the recurring event option. I still pay less/year than I did per month with other programs.
Pros: I found Freedcamp to be very intuitive and I love the outlook integration that allows me to save emails as comments to easily find my zoom links or info needed for a project without having to scour my inbox! I tried many other platforms that were much more costly but didn’t integrate as nicely before I settled on Freedcamp. It’s fast, easy, and keeps me organized for sure!
Cons: The mobile app has the basics but not as much as the desktop version. Although I don’t find that I need as much info when I’m on my phone. Def would still recommend.

The application makes tracking tasks, and productivity a breeze! The ease of customization, and collaboration amongst our team has been amazing. The daily email prompts make it impossible to miss out on any deadlines.
Pros: Love how easy it is to stay organized with the project files. Task assignment amongst team members has been a great way to passively communicate and delegate.
Cons: Can take a little bit to get used to the application and learn about all the customization pieces there are.
Sarah R. · Program Operations Coordinator · Non-Profit Organization Management · July 16, 2025
Freedcamp has served a wonderful purpose of keeping project tasks organized and streamlining communication between teammates on specific tasks. It is so much better than a litany of email threads that get lost in the inbox!
Pros: The free version is incredibly robust. One of my business partners uses this to manage projects we work on together, and I was able to sign up for free and utilize everything I need. I would look into it further if I wasn't already invested in a different project management system.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning. It took a bit to figure out the workflow, but that's true with any system.

Our overall experience with Freedcamp has been extremely positive. It brought clarity to our communication and allowed us to centralize project planning, task tracking, and documentation in one place.
Pros: Freedcamp allows us to manage multiple projects and team members in one centralized workspace without feeling overwhelmed. It offers structure without sacrificing flexibility, which is ideal for dynamic teams like ours.
Cons: Although the permissions and role settings are very useful, it took us a bit of time to fully understand how to configure them properly for our team’s structure.

Love it and would recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Great free offering. (Mostly) good UI. Rich featureset. Good support.
Cons: I have minor UX gripes, but that's me being a developer. Overall it's fine.
Andy C. · Founder and Engineer · Online Media · May 5, 2025
Overall, it's allowed our small team a general and clear oversight on tasks, management and timelines- it's really helped us shape our next steps.
Pros: Ease of use- from setup moving forwards has meant that me and my team have been able to get moving with the projects fast, and transparently.
Cons: I'm using the free version and so actually what I'm missing is access to the Gantt charts, which are available on the Pro.
Julian T. · Operations Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 9, 2025
We like how easy it is to set up projects, tasks, time tracking, Slack integration, comments, and more. It's really got everything our small nonprofit needs. We used Asana for a while and it was good, but some staff found it clunky. Freedcamp is not clunky at all!
Pros: Freedcamp is so easy to use, as an administrator and as a user!
Cons: Can't find anything yet to complain about!
Jenn J. · Technology Advisor · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 7, 2025
Outstanding project management tool! Love it!
Pros: $7d
Cons: Could use a bit of work on navigation and gui
Rob M. · Volunteer - IT · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 7, 2025
We just started using it, but it is far better than a shared spreadsheet and the reminders are great!
Pros: There is a surprising amount of functionality in the free there.
Cons: Honestly, for a free tool, there isn't anything wrong with it. Just, set your expectations appropriately.
Jeremy S. · Volunteer · Performing Arts · February 22, 2025
To summarize, Freedcamp is the optimal tool for the small distributed teams who don't want to complicate their processes. It helps a lot to organize your work and tasks among the people.
Pros: 1. Simple to use in comparison to other tools like Jira or Rally. 2. Free license to use for the small teams. 3. Ability to use plugins like TimeTracker.
Cons: Couple of years ago I used mobile version of Freedcamp, it had bugs and reduced functionality. Don't know what's up now with the application. I expect it to be improved as well as I noticed it for the Desktop/Browser version.

Pros: "Freedcamp has been a game changer for us! The platform offers an impressive range of features that make managing projects, tasks, and collaboration a breeze. We were fortunate to receive an educational license, which has allowed us to fully leverage its capabilities. The seamless interface, combined with powerful tools, has helped us stay organized and boost productivity. We highly recommend Freedcamp to any team or business looking for an efficient project management solution!"
Cons: "One improvement we’d love to see is the ability to add comments to individual tasks within a task list, making it even easier to communicate and track progress on specific items."
gauthier b. · Apprentice engineer · Education Management · November 22, 2024
Freedcamp has been a valuable tool for organizing and managing my projects. It’s easy to use, affordable, and robust enough to handle team collaboration. While there are some areas for improvement, especially with the mobile app and integrations, the platform’s benefits outweigh its drawbacks. It has significantly improved our productivity and coordination as a remote team.
Pros: Freedcamp's interface is user-friendly and offers a wide range of features that cater to project management needs. I particularly liked the ability to create task lists, collaborate with team members, and track progress in real time. The calendar integration and notifications are excellent for staying on top of deadlines. Additionally, the platform provides a lot of functionality even with its free plan, making it accessible for startups and nonprofits like mine.
Cons: The mobile app could use some improvements in terms of responsiveness and navigation. Occasionally, there’s a slight lag when switching between projects, and some features feel more polished on the desktop version compared to mobile. Integrations with other tools are somewhat limited unless you’re on a higher-tier plan.

Alessandro U. · Country Director · Marketing and Advertising · November 10, 2024
Freedcamp has been an invaluable tool in helping manage projects. With its intuitive user interface and competitive pricing, we've been able to integrate the software seemlessly into our workflow. There has been a noticeble increase in productivity since we introduced the software to our group.
Pros: Freedcamp has a very intuitive UI setup. It is very easy to assign tasks to specific individuals and set goals for deadlines. The task tracking feature is also very helpful in allowing project leads to easily get a bigger picture of the progress being made. Freedcamp support also has a very quick turnaround response time, which is very helpful for resolving any issues.
Cons: There are some more advanced project tracking features that are more confusing, but these don't affect the usability of the basic and most important functions.

Pros: Freedcamp is so easy to use right from the start. It is simple where it needs to be, making project management intuitive and clear. But it also has features for deeper and more complex collaborative needs. I'm using it with student interns at my university and it has helped us stay productive and organized.
Cons: I can't really find any cons as everything meets my needs.
Mat W. · Advisor · Education Management · October 31, 2024
My experience has been very user friendly. I'm not especially tech savvy, and I find that Freedcamp does not require you to be tech savvy.
Pros: I think that Freedcamp is fairly user friendly. I don't have trouble scouting around and getting where I need to within Freedcamp, and that makes things easier and quicker for me.
Cons: So far for what I use it for I haven't come across anything that I can say I dislike.

Pros: One of the best things about Freedcamp is its intuitive task management system. It simplifies assigning tasks, setting deadlines, and tracking progress, all in one place. The calendar view is especially helpful for visualizing event timelines, ensuring that nothing is overlooked. Its collaborative features make it easy for teams to stay organized and work together efficiently, which is perfect for managing multiple projects like tech events.
Cons: One thing I dislike about Freedcamp is the lack of a built-in feature to set time estimates on tasks. For project management, especially in tech or development-focused teams, being able to estimate the time required for tasks is essential for better planning and resource allocation. Without this feature, it becomes harder to track whether a project is on schedule or if tasks are taking longer than expected. While you can work around this by using labels or comments, a dedicated time estimate feature would make task tracking much more efficient.
