One of the best tools I use, if not daily, cetainly weekly. I've enjoyed using it from day one and will carryyon using it.
Pros: Prowritingaid is not just a plain writing tool, I've used a few of them and wasted a small fortune. No, its also great for checking readability, pointing out cluncky sentences, over used words, bad sentence structure, checking for plagiarism and so much more. All of which go to help the writing and learning experience.
Cons: The thing I least like regarding Prowritingaidis, it appears to require a reasonable large piece of text to check. Small stretches are generally ignored unless you join them to a larger paragraph. Also, the filing sytem I find it awkward at times, it's not as immediate as might be to locate a previously filed document.

ProWritingAid offers an experience that's better than an editor in some respects. The feedback is objective and unbiased. It offers 24/7 availability and significant cost savings. It teaches me to be a better writer. I repeatedly make the same grammatical mistakes, for instance. I can now identify many errors independently.
Pros: ProWritingAid is teaching me how to write like a professional. I don't remember all the rules from English classes. Is extremely helpful to be informed about grammatical errors on the spot. The Chapter Critiques are especially useful.

I am still new to use it but I use Atticus and it has been good so far.
Pros: I love that it picks up the simplest things that I wouldn't have caught.
Cons: I wish the box could be made smaller or even the ability to move it to my other screen, it covers some of the text that it is suggesting that I change - I can't see the full sentence and have to move it side to side to see it all.

it helped me alot with alot of my task during my studies and it is still doing so during my normal daily task,
Pros: New features like paraphrasing and correcting, and repetition.
Cons: Switching authors in the web settings reveals a range of writing styles, making it difficult to recognise each writer's unique style without a reference. ProWritingAid tends to lag behind in reflecting market changes. Due to the prevalence of AI in our time, much of what is happening involves AI creation. nevertheless - AI Detection. where ProWritingAid falls is its algorithms is being flagged by those wannabes sites - starving to sell for uncreative AI users. What I wish for Pro is it has a humanizer .. Sparks are nice .. Yet, if someone is creative enough... not needed

Great! I use it everyday, and it's knowledge is profound.
Pros: It does everything I need to expertly edit my writing.
Cons: I do not like that you cannot upload a pdf file to be edited.

ProWritingAid is an invaluable resource.
Pros: I am a long-time user of ProWritingAid. It has helped me become a better writer, whether posting comments on Facebook, composing an email, or working on a chapter for my novel. Practice has helped me become more articulate by reducing the clutter in my writing. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to express themselves more succinctly. ,
Cons: The trend today is to avoid adverbs. Sometimes, I find this annoying. I sometimes prefer to express my thoughts without the constant intrusion of an expert. I will revise later, thank you.

I've been using ProWritingAid for years. It has helped me improve the quality of my writing significantly. I've tried quite a few, and this is undoubtedly one of the best.
Pros: The rewrite option, grammar, and spelling suggestion corrections, and style suggestions. The summary/report of an entire document is awesome, too.
Cons: It's a great tool, but I can't afford the premium version. However, I appreciate the free version very much.

Fabulous tool. I'm glad I bought a Lifetime membership.
Pros: I am grateful for ProWritingAid. I've edited my manuscript, and it seems fine. When I use ProWritingAid, I have made 100 sloppy mistakes. I'm saved from embarrassment with a chance to improve before printing.
Cons: Sometimes a little slow. But it may be the internet.
Malika B. · author · Writing and Editing · March 14, 2025
Good! I bought the lifetime Premium Pro version, and I have no regrets!
Pros: Ease of use and help with my editing and writing. I love the writers summits you guys put on too!
Cons: I would love to see an add on for Scrivener like you have for Word.
Alexandria Y. · SAHM · Writing and Editing · March 11, 2025
Overall, good needs some help on the software side but easy fixes and I want pro but cannot justify the purchase.
Pros: It reads my mind of what I want to say with words I did not think to use!
Cons: It has some UI issues, and it seems to not like certain webpages...

I tried out Grammarly along side ProWritingAid and found it better meets my needs. Of course, both have developed significantly since then. PWA feels more grounded and gave me better suggestions than the competition. I bought a lifetime subscription. I have it turned on, on most webpages and in Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. It supplements the MS editor well. When I have needed help, the support team have always been great.
Pros: I like that it integrates with my favourite apps and is available whenever I am typing.
Cons: It is brilliant for novelists and other fiction writers. I would love some of their functionality focused on business and non-fiction writing.
Michelle S. · Customer Experience Consultant · Management Consulting · February 7, 2025
ProWritingAid has made writing easier. Retirement has allowed me to enjoy my passion in writing.
Pros: It is so easy to use. Trust me, it is a fantastic program.
Cons: Nothing, I would be lost if not for ProWritingAid.
RICHARD F. · Director · Writing and Editing · February 4, 2025
My overall experience with the app is positive. I am very glad that I purchased the lifetime membership.
Pros: I love how it improves my writing by offering suggestions I can take or ignore. It even helped me with this review.
Cons: Now the only time I don't like it is when it isn't functioning properly. That typically only happens in Google docs when there are lots of comments or suggestions. Something about the editing/commenting/suggesting aspect of Google Docs throws the app off.
Kathy T. · Owner · Publishing · January 29, 2025
I used the free version and I found it most helpful. When I finish a chapter I copied and then pasted it into this program.
Pros: I use it to check chapters in my book. I loved the ease with which the corrections followed.
Cons: I don't like renting a product. I want to purchase my products. I would like to buy ProWritingAid when and if it becomes available instead of paying a monthly fee.
Joe C. · Author · Writing and Editing · December 30, 2024
good and very cost effective for personal user
Pros: Online correct errors, Cost Economic for Personal Usage
Cons: Always repeat for confirming to restructure the grammar
Boon Wah N. · Self · Accounting · December 21, 2024
I utilize it for all of my professional writing endeavors.
Pros: ProWritingAid is an essential and easily utilized tool for all professional writing endeavors.
Cons: I'm good with it being free, no complaints here.
Tim E. · Cloud Technology Consultant · Computer & Network Security · December 10, 2024
Excellent. I always enjoy using it. It has helped me improve my writing greatly.
Pros: Everything. The ease of use and the various ways you can improve your writing.
Cons: I would like it if you had a change all function.
Wendy S. · Author · Writing and Editing · December 10, 2024
Pros: It makes brilliant suggestions. I think the interface is easy now that I've had it a few days.
Cons: It was hard to get it to work at first. It conflicted with my browser until I found out a conflicting ext and turned it off.
Kory M. · Theapist · Mental Health Care · December 7, 2024
I am thrilled with the ProWritingAid software. Hence, I went for the lifelong license. :-)
Pros: It does what it claims it can do. No false advertising.
Cons: The interface needs to be cleaner. It's to big and clumsy.
Mustafa Abdul A. · Executive Director Finance · Financial Services · November 18, 2024
Wonderful. Took a small amount of time to get used to it after years on Word. But once acclimated, and it wasn't a hard learning curve, it has become by far my favorite. I recommend it to all my friends who write, sometime with the fervor of an evangelist.
Pros: I'm a pantser, trying to be more organized and become a little more of a planner. PWA makes that simple, and made my writing more impactful.
Cons: I wish there was an option to move from Premium Lifetime to Pro Premium Lifetime, through payments instead of only a lump sum. I would immediately upgrade if that was an option.
Michael B. · Author · Publishing · November 16, 2024
It has been great. I like I can use it in Atticus and other apps.
Pros: Easy to use. Accurate and helpful. Good feedback is provided.
Cons: Still has some problems like effect and affect. Doesn't fully support company and product names and flags them as errors.
MAX M. · Author, Publisher · Writing and Editing · October 29, 2024
It's wonderful and the reports generated help target areas of improvement in my writing
Pros: The one time lifetime license purchase works far better for my budget than a monthly subscription.
Cons: Running out of free plagiarism checks is annoying, but it's not a deal breaker.
Tomara J. · Ghostwriter · Publishing · October 28, 2024
Great! I am so happy that I have a good editing tool to help me make writing my manuscript so much easier.
Pros: Helpful suggestions.Grammar check. Phrase suggestions and progress reports to help keep me on track.
Cons: Easy to use.Helpful and easy to download and use.
Chef Shannon R. · Publisher · Writing and Editing · October 15, 2024
So far, I love it as a tool once I'm done writing. I haven't tried using it in real-time writing.
Pros: There are so many mistakes that I make on the first drafts that catching as many as possible the next time around keeps me from having to do 10-12 rounds versus 3-4. Or maybe it's just me, but it works for me well.
Cons: That I don't have a downloadable program that I can use on my PC offline.
Johnny T. · Sr. Product Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · October 6, 2024
It does what it needs to do well, I don't ever need to think about it.
Pros: Pro Writing Aid is there exactly when I need it. It not only makes suggestions for big, obvious problems, but also smaller suggestions for readability. Beyond just making suggestions, it also explains why it thinks I should word things differently.
Cons: The in browser plugin can get in the way sometimes.
