Datadog has been dependable and easy to work with. It gives clear, real‑time insight into systems, and once dashboards and alerts are set up, it makes monitoring and troubleshooting much smoother.
Pros: Datadog gives clear, real‑time visibility into systems and apps. Dashboards are easy to read, alerts are fast, and it pulls everything into one place so issues are easier to spot and fix.
Cons: It can get expensive as you add more features and data. Some dashboards take extra tuning to get right, and the amount of metrics can feel overwhelming at times.

comprehensive monitoring platform that delivers strong visibility across complex infrastructures. Once past the initial learning curve it becomes an essential tool for keeping systems healthy and catching issues before they escalate into bigger problems. The log management ..APM to infrastructure monitoring , they all make it a well-rounded solution for teams that need full-stack observability in one place.
Pros: The real-time monitoring and observability across the entire infrastructure was a standout — being able to see logs, metrics, and traces all in one place made troubleshooting significantly faster. The dashboards were highly customizable and gave a clear picture of system health without having to jump between multiple tools. The alerting system was also reliable and easy to configure, making sure the right people were notified the moment something looked off.
Cons: The initial setup and configuration had a steep learning curve, particularly when it came to building custom dashboards and writing more advanced queries from scratch. Some of the more granular alert configurations could get complicated and required a solid understanding of the platform before getting them right. The sheer volume of features can also feel overwhelming at first, making it hard to know where to start without proper onboarding or documentation.

Overall, my experience with Datadog has been very positive. It provides a comprehensive observability platform that brings together metrics, logs, and traces in a cohesive way, making it easier to monitor and troubleshoot systems. The interface is powerful and flexible, allowing for deep insights into application performance and infrastructure health. While there is a learning curve and costs can grow quickly, the value it delivers in terms of visibility and efficiency is significant. It has become an essential tool for maintaining reliability in complex environments, helping teams detect and resolve issues faster with greater confidence.
Pros: What I like most about Datadog right now is how seamlessly it brings everything together—metrics, logs, traces, and security—into a single, unified platform. It makes troubleshooting faster because you can move from a high-level view down to granular details without switching tools. The dashboards are highly customizable and visually clear, which helps both technical and non-technical teams stay aligned. I also appreciate the breadth of integrations and how quickly new features are rolled out. Overall, it feels like a mature, reliable observability solution that scales well with growing infrastructure and increasingly complex environments.
Cons: I honestly have no negative feedback to give. Datadog works great and I will keep using it. Keep it up

Overall, datadog has been a high level security structure for our entire system. Fixing bugs could help greatly.
Pros: Datadog does what it says. Our team members do not have to worry anymore about data incidence response. This makes reporting seemless. Accessing realtime response prompts are now easy and analysis has been greatly improved. We get the required support needed from the datadog team.
Cons: Im not sure about datadog ability to immediately update response report when i switch online from offline time, except incases where i have to relog in. I understand this helps with data security.

My experience with Datadog was very good overall, I loved the high workloads and the fast changing environment.
Pros: Datadog is widely reviewed as a powerful platform with some of the best integrations in it. The software has a sheer number of features.
Cons: I hardly cared for it that much because it was very pricing with its structure. Integrations are easy, but configuration can require alot of work at the same time.

Overall datadog is good once you get the hang of it. However, the it may take a couple days to get adjusted to using it
Pros: It allows me to look through logs thats required for my day-to-day job. I appreciate the quick filter options available that are easily accessible on the left-hand side
Cons: Sometimes it feels overwhelming when you are shown a huge amount of data at once. I believe there is also a steep learning curve too.
Terence Z. · Technical Support Specialist · Information Technology and Services · January 12, 2026
Overall, I find it to be a valuable tool that has generally fast queries and dependable uptime. I appreciate the flexible alert conditions and monitors.
Pros: My favorite thing about Datadog was the clean and modern interface that is pretty intuitive once you learn.
Cons: It can get a bit pricey, with log volume, custom metrics, high-cardinality tags, and multiple products enabled.

It has been great experience using datadog as it provide all the features and tools needed for observability and monitoring in one platform.
Pros: Slo feature which helped us to show our client how reliable our services are and helped us crack deal. Integration with open telemetry which helped us look into different issues of our pipeline and helped us in monitoring and observability.
Cons: Sometime there is a lag on custom metric summary and volume page which can be improved otherwise it is a great and detailed experience.
Tushar G. · Software developer · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 27, 2025
Pros: Easy to use with all the observability features at one place including logs, trace, metrics and now the new AI features.
Cons: It’s sometimes difficult to list few features like the metric summary and custom metric volume as the site is slow.
Sonal G. · Devops Engineer · Leisure, Travel & Tourism · December 22, 2025
Overall, I am beyond pleased with the product and look forward to leveraging it even further in 2026.
Pros: The APM feature and being able to accurately identify issues within the stack along with the synthetics.
Cons: The cost. The ability to actually drilldown and get detailed usage metrics. Nothing else really an issue.
Charles B. · Service Delivery Manager · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 22, 2025
Experience is good. I have various dashboards designed with Datadog. I am using RUM and CI Visibility as well.
Pros: Datadog intregtations with several platforms. Simplicity how metrics can be collected and visualized in Datadog.
Cons: I visualize AWS metrics in Datadog. Sometimes I see differences in the data represented on Datadog vs Cloudwatch metrics. Still have not understood the gap.
Sayali M. · Devops Lead · Computer Software · December 22, 2025
Datadog provides a comprehensive observability platform that simplifies monitoring across infrastructure, applications, and logs. It’s particularly strong in cloud-native environments.
Pros: Datadog brings metrics, logs, and traces together in one platform. Its dashboards are highly customizable and interactive, making it easy to visualize. Alos, Datadog supports hundreds of integrations.
Cons: The pricing expensive and hard to predict. Sometimes, feels complex alert logic when customizing monitor with logic.
Praba N. · Senior DevOps Engineer · Information Technology and Services · December 19, 2025
Datadog is our strategic Observability platform which is perceived well within the entire organization. We find Datadog always staying ahead of other platforms for tech adoption and building observability around it.
Pros: I find Datadog's Observability offering quite comprehensive. It's like our 1-stop shop for all monitoring needs and has helped us get rid of other tools as most could be done here effectively. The ease of use and friendly UI, tagging and integrations all add to reason of having it as your preferred tool.
Cons: There is lot of products renaming and navigation updates that always keep going on with the platform. Sometimes the products are made GA without 100% diligence about bugs and usability. Billing & Usage although transparent, can sometimes be difficult to understand.
Vaibhav S. · Monitoring DevOps Engineer · Oil & Energy · December 18, 2025
I have been using it for the past 4-ish years, and I think it's moving in the right direction. Documentation has been greatly improved, and I appreciate the tutorials (i use them to outsource onboarding of new team members). I also like that the focus is slowly moving into non-tech as well (UX-design, feature management etc).
Pros: The dashboard building, especially building custom tailored ones for different needs (designers wanting user behaviour things, while product owners want business related things, while developers want performance, security and reliability by viewing bugs and issues).
Cons: Things tend to be very techy, so for my team the workload often comes down to the developers, even though it's the designers, product owners or analysts who actually need something. The consequences can include loss of information (due to the developer interpreting the stakeholder's need / wish differently) or confusion (the developer having a tech focused mindset and language while the stakeholders do not)

Datadog has become our single source of truth for observability across infrastructure, applications, and user experience. We realized faster incident triage, better cross‑team collaboration, and measurable improvements in application reliability and release velocity.
Pros: Single source of truth for observability across infrastructure, applications, and user experience. The platform offers metrics, logs, APM, tracing, RUM, synthetics, security monitoring, which paired with excellent out‑of‑the‑box integrations and a strong support organization.
Cons: Learning curve for advanced features. Users that are new to observability may need enablement on correlating signals across products.
Giovanny J. · Director, Enterprise Infrastructure Architect · Biotechnology · December 18, 2025
Overall, my experience with Datadog has been very positive. As a senior SRE, I rely on it daily for infrastructure visibility, performance tracking, and incident response. The platform is reliable, feature-rich, and continues to evolve with meaningful improvements. It has helped streamline on-call workflows and reduced mean time to resolution across multiple services. Aside from pricing concerns, it remains one of the most effective observability solutions I’ve worked with.
Pros: Datadog provides a comprehensive and unified observability platform that has been invaluable for maintaining the reliability of our systems. Its integration ecosystem is exceptional—most services we use can be connected with minimal effort. The dashboards are highly customizable and intuitive, making it easy to visualize key performance metrics. Log management, APM, and infrastructure monitoring work seamlessly together, which significantly improves incident detection and troubleshooting. The alerting capabilities are robust and flexible, enabling precise, noise-free monitoring.
Cons: The primary downside is the cost. As our environment scales, Datadog becomes increasingly expensive, especially when ingesting large volumes of logs and metrics. Cost management requires constant attention, and certain features can become hard to justify purely from a pricing standpoint.
Wai Yip L. · SRE · Financial Services · December 18, 2025
Overall, my experience with Datadog has been positive. The platform is stable, powerful, and easy to work with on a daily basis. At the same time, it feels like some areas could be more polished, particularly performance, issue-resolution speed, and deeper OpenTelemetry support. Despite these shortcomings, Datadog remains one of the strongest monitoring solutions available.
Pros: Datadog offers a very clean, intuitive, and well-designed user experience that makes working with dashboards, metrics, and logs significantly easier. Its UX stands out and helps streamline daily monitoring tasks.
Cons: The biggest drawback is the relatively slow pace at which issues are addressed, along with the incomplete and sometimes inconsistent implementation of OpenTelemetry compatibility. This is especially noticeable with features such as handling “resources” in APM. Faster improvements in this area would be greatly appreciated.

We love Datadog and it is good to see the product continue to evolve, even after being on the market for over a decade.
Pros: Usability - definitely one of the best, super intuitive Performance - fast Features - seeing all data in one place and the ability to slice and dice
Cons: Price - cost of Datadog can get out of control if you don't manage it carefully. Review your usage every month is a must.
Chris C. · Head of Infrastructure and Security · Financial Services · December 17, 2025
Overall datadog is a good products for monitoring, apm, rum and log management. It also got a lot of advance security features, we will try it soon.
Pros: log management and RUM, it is most helpful for us to investigate problem, also it sends us an alert when log reaches an serval errors
Cons: infra, it is a basic metric monitoring tools and the interface is not user friendly for checking issue.
kayden L. · IT Manager · Information Technology and Services · December 17, 2025
Overall from a DBRE perspective it has hit all the major observability checkpoints that were needed to monitor our databases. Time to respond to a database incident has really improved and we have more visibility into the systems
Pros: I work in Data Reliability and so far the best thing about Datadog has been its APM feature and the Postgres integration. I have been able to track issues before they could happen and it had been really useful during incidents
Cons: The recent AI recommendations are sometimes not very useful. When a query is slow obviously the first recommendation would be to add indexes. For some reason the AI recommendation system does not check the indexes before recommending. To an engineer who doesn't have admin privileges to the Database, these recommendations might sound confusing and they would create tickets which gets marked as Won't Do
Prateek G. · Senior Software Engineer - DBRE · Computer Software · December 17, 2025
My team regularly used datadog. It allowed us to create alerts for different metrics like application errors, network latency, and more. Datadog was our go to for reading logs, determining production bugs and errors. Datadog also allowed us to see the actions our users were making when any error occurred, and the different services that our application was interacting with during that period. I would use datadog again without question.
Pros: Datadog was our go to tool for analytic insights about our application. We could filter application logs in a very helpful, and specific way that made it easy to identify, track, and resolve bugs and issues that came up during development. The security access into the application made it so we could control access with granularity. The cost for datadog was greatly outweighed by the value it provided for our team.
Cons: Datadog is a very powerful tool, if you're looking for a simple tool this could be for you but it might be a little overkill for really simple projects.
