The worst was their default on their fiduciary accountability, as my Non-Profit org still hasn't received all of it's donations. Horrible Customer Support. Response - At a minimum it would take 5 to 6 emails request to even get a response. The look and feel of the receipts sent to the donors was very rudimentary and could not be customized.
Pros: There wasn't a single thing I liked about Flipcause when we had them as a vendor. My non-profit organization transition to another vendor, just prior to Flip cause Chap 11 filing.
Cons: The biggest heartburn was the significant delay in transferring the funds processed by them our donor's contributions to our bank account. For most 2025 it be transfer in 1 monthly sum but averaging 45 days to receive, then in Fall - They stopped transferring our donor contributions completely.

Overall, I do not like flipcasue. The biggest challenge has been getting the money that our donors gave online through their platform. We have tried reaching out to support and their office and we cannot get ahold of anyone.
Pros: Flipcasue has the capability of a donor management system along with website capability. It was efficient to have both things in the same location!
Cons: While Flipcasue has the capability of receiving donations from your constituents, they are not able to pay out your funds in a reasonable time. Our organization still has $3,000 that we are waiting to get from them. We have been requesting the funds for over 6 months.

I would give them 0 or negative stars but that wasn't an option. From 2017 to early 2025 our experience with Flipcause was fine - not great, not horrible but the software worked and donations were remitted. Since spring 2025 our team has wasted countless hours spinning our wheels in an attempt to get critical funds owed to us that are being withheld by Flipcause.
Pros: Flipcause's integrated website hosting feature was beneficial and in general everything worked well from 2017 until spring 2025.
Cons: Payout requests have been in a perpetual state of 'processing delay' for over 6 months and we have not received any of the funds owed to us since May 2025. We have submitted numerous requests and have received unkept promises from their [sensitive content hidden] As a core function of the software is donation processing & remittance - that they aren't remitting the donated funds is a pretty significant Con.

They promised long, delivered short. The promise was that they would build us a website that we could take with us should we decide to leave (a lie); that funds would, upon request, be transferred into our bank account in 7 - 10 working days (a really big lie); and that their reports would be useful to us (so not true - an Excel spreadsheet worked better).
Pros: At the outset, they were helpful. But the amount of money we paid for the service was much too high, and although supposedly we had a “team” available to us, it’s no good if “team” members don’t respond to emails. Our small non-profit had big, big regrets about working with them.
Cons: The most egregious behavior came when our small non-profit requested transfer of our funds. FlipCause promises 7 - 10 working days; it always took at least 2 months, several emails, phone calls to the CEO (Sean Wheeler), which were never returned, and threats to file a complaint with the CA Attorney General’s office. We did file a complaint with the BBB.

While Flipcause provides some helpful tools for nonprofits, particularly in website support and donor engagement, the core function of reliably transferring donor funds was a consistent failure. This not only caused operational hardship but also reputational damage for our organization. Unfortunately, despite some good support from their team, the recurring issues with fund transfers made the platform unworkable for us.
Pros: Flipcause was very helpful in redesigning our nonprofit’s website and integrating it with their platform. Their success team usually responds to inquiries in a timely manner and offers useful support on general technical issues.
Cons: The major issue is the failure to transfer donor funds in a timely manner. Despite their policy stating 7–10 business days for ACH transfers, Flipcause consistently delayed payments, sometimes holding funds for weeks. On several occasions, we had to threaten to cancel before receiving partial resolution. Eventually, we terminated our account because this problem persisted. Additionally, the platform is expensive at $125 per month, which is not justified given these challenges.

You cannot talk to a live person except via chat, they promise to have someone 'look into it'. They make promises they do not keep.
Pros: I would say none that outweigh the negatives of high fees and holding funds for a month. They have someone to chat with and they can help with technical matters but you wait forever for the money your donors thought they were making accessible to you immediately online.
Cons: Their transaction fee's are almost DOUBLE what other platforms are. They charge 5.9% + .30 PER TRANSACTION...what donor wants to pay that? And they hold your money for well over 30 days, we have two accounts with them are changing asap. Someone gives online with a credit card, and you don't receive it for at least 21 days. Pretty absurd.

If you have enough backup funds that you can wait for long periods of time for funds, they are fabulous, but if you rely on donations, registration fees and ticket sales for day-to-day functioning, sadly, we cannot recommend them. Although I hate to walk away from the almost 9 years of institutional history that is easily accessible in our Flipcause Dashboard, I am actively looking for an alternative service.
Pros: We've used Flipcause since 2017. I've always been really happy with the ease of use, and I've loved that they can handle donations, monthly donations, ticket sales, class registrations, and even peer-to-peer fundraising. It's not the prettiest interface, but we've had no technical issues at all, and when we've had questions about how to use the product, customer service has been excellent. Plus, it's affordable for our small non-profit.
Cons: Our complaint is that the time we have to wait for funds to be transferred to our bank keeps getting longer and longer. For the first several years, we would always get our transfers within the 7-10 business days it states on the website, but the wait time keeps getting longer and longer, and if you don't aggressively hound them, your funds will not be transferred. I've waited as long as 4 months. It takes them a long time to response, and I just get the same response over and over - they keep saying they are having trouble with their ACH provider, but that trouble has been going on for well over two years.

Prior to May of 2024 we loved this company and their platform. Now, I just want to warn people to keep looking. Something is going on there that isn't OK and they aren't transparent about it. Today, it absolutely should not take 7-10 for a merchant account to transfer funds. We work with 3 other merchant accounts and can have our funds instantly or within 3 days and there is no gate keeper. When we hit transfer, they transfer. With Flipcause, you hit transfer and the funds get stuck somewhere for weeks and weeks. I am afraid one day the funds won't even come late. Something is going on there that isn't good! Keep Looking!
Pros: Prior to May of 2024 I would have rated Flipcause 10 out of 10. We have been a customer for over four years without an issue. That is no longer true and I think anyone considering contracting with this company needs to be aware of the major financial issues that are happening there and with client's donations.
Cons: The process for moving donations from Flipcause to our bank has always been clunky but workable. We have to request the transfer and then the contract gives them 7-10 days to transfer. That worked fine until mid 2024 when it started taking 2, 3 and 4 weeks. And every transfer requires emails begging for our funds to be released. No accountability, no phone number, no manager to connect with. They are interfering with nonprofits ability to execute their mission by illegally withholding funds with no explanation and no attempt to fix it. The last thing I have time for is finding a new platform and migrating our website but we have zero choice at this point. We have battling this for a year and we are done. Flipcause refuses to let us integrate a different merchant account on our donation page until theirs is working properly. Effectively cutting off our funds with no solutions or recourse.

See the "cons". Do not subscribe to this system.
Pros: The website service is stellar; their response time and profressionalism is second to none.
Cons: Literally NONE of what they do matters if they are unwilling to transfer donation dollars to our bank account. When we first started with Flipcause, donations happened quickly. Over the last year and a half, every transfer request feels like a wrestling match. I will initiate the request, and then I will have to follow up on day 11 (after their self-imposed 5-10 business day turnaround) with an email, then a live-chat conversation, and then at least 2-3 more emails. And it seems to be getting worse, not better. Our board is suspicious, and I am now forced to contemplate finding a different company - and the painful process involved with moving all of our data and learning a new system. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SYSTEM. If the money part doesn't work, nothing else matters.

DO NOT USE FLIPCAUSE. WE BELIEVE THEY ARE GOING BANKRUPT AS THEY DO NOT PAY OUT DONATIONS.
Pros: Good dashboard, good feature set. Good help with our website.
Cons: Flipcause holds on to your money. They claim to process your donations in 7-10 business days which is already too long, but we have to demand payment months later. The last time we had donations transferred into our account was 2 months ago. This is the 3rd time we have had to threaten them to deposit our donations. They are either incompetent, screwing us by holding our donations in float, or going bankrupt.

I'm glad I made the switch from what we were using. I find Flipcause easier to use.
Pros: The combination of the fundraising and the website.
Cons: The high rates it charges our donors. It would be nice if it could be lower.
Primitiva H. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 3, 2025
I have enjoyed the fundraising assistance and the bookkeeping made easier for members.
Pros: Love the customer service. Such quick response with answers and solutions.
Cons: It is a very helpful product for any nonprofit organization but somewhat costly for a small budget.

Flip cause has come to be one of the best hosts for my nonprofit company. It brings much value to my company and with their candied support. Thanks again!
Pros: I like most is that the way they create your product for marketing. It is so impeccable.
Cons: Trying to reach by phone and their is a long wait. Especially, if you need something done asap.

Initially interactions when researching Flipcause, in mid-2022, were positive and promising. Fully implementing them and getting support transitioning our website in mid-2023 was less positive and a bit concerning. Ever since we've gotten fully implemented as of 7/1/23 the experience had steadily declined to the point there is zero support and next to no communication. It's not acceptable and as soon as we can get our money, if we get our money, we will be quickly moving away from them.
Pros: They provide a helpful web package. As a small non-profit, being able to easily update our website, in tandem with implementing donor software, is why we opted to initially move to Flipcause. It is no longer worth the stress.
Cons: Virtually zero customer service/support. You cannot actually speak with anyone there; all communication must be through email. Throughout the past 18 months we've used them, their response time has gone from within 24 hours, to ignoring most emails altogether. It's infuriating. If you're reliant on the funds that you are raising to operate your nonprofit, be aware that they state that when you request a transfer of your funds it should hit your bank account within 7-10 business days. That timeline alone is ridiculous, but we could manage to that if it was accurate. Never, since we've utilized Flipcause, have we received our money in this time frame. The last transfer request took me a minimum of 5 emails to get a response out of the company, and well over three weeks of waiting, before we received our funds. When they provide a reason for the delay, it never sounds believable. As of right now, it's 12/4/24 and I'm still waiting to receive funds I requested be transferred to our bank account on 11/6/24.

its been a pleasure - easy to use and ha sraised funds
Pros: ease of use- great support team would recomend to any non profit
Cons: support team does not work on weekends - makes it difficult for volunteers whgo work
Louis B. · Case Manager · Public Safety · December 3, 2024
as an organization, e have not leverage the company to its fullest I believe in terms of using the fundraising platform. we have one coming up in January 2025 and I am looking forward to it.
Pros: The amazing customer service. The staff are helpful with providing ideas on to proceed with posts and campaigns
Cons: That I am unable to speak with a live person or brainstorm via zoom
Despina K. · President · Recreational Facilities and Services · November 9, 2024
It's been satisfactory or we wouldn't still be here. I anticipate that we would be switching within the next couple of years to a platform that has a bit more ease about it. Customer service is decent, not wonderful due to time lapses, but when we connect I've felt supported, questions have been answered or situations solved.
Pros: Fairly easy to set up website & change content. I like that there are campaigns that can be shelved, copied or deleted and that they can be integrated in a number of ways.
Cons: Lot's of chunky parts... ease of use regarding campaigns, types of sign-ups, limited offerings that would allow further control / design on our side. No crm option. If I were in the middle of creating xyz I'd be able to give better details. The percentage donors are charged has been a problem for many and we don't get back the amount I thought we were which was disappointing.

Overall, our experience has been great. The team has been very responsive, and the value to cost ratio is very good!
Pros: Flipcause is a great platform with a great team behind it. The team is not just a web team, but have good fundraising ideas and website design for optimal flows from email signups to donations.
Cons: Perhaps a bit more proactive interaction, seeing how we are doing, and if there is anything they could do to help. When we reach out, though, they are very responsive.
Eric D. · Vice President · Non-Profit Organization Management · November 9, 2024
Overall, we are quite pleased with our experience with Flipcause. And once our membership gets used to working with FC, they find it easier too.
Pros: I have recommended Flipcause to friends over the past 6+ years mainly because it has made my life so much easier, especially when reconciling our bank accounts. Financial transactions are clearly listed and what used to take hours to reconcile, now takes minutes. Campaigns run very smoothly, my success team is very helpful when we occasionally run into a problem. And it's now just a pleasure to work with them
Cons: There are two things that I like the least: 1. I used to be able to speak to a human being if I had a challenging question; but that has changed almost everywhere and every organization and I do get an email response rather quickly from my team. 2. It used to take 2 or 3 days to transfer funds from FC to our bank but now takes 10 days or more. However, this is becoming more typical of financial institutions of late. I guess it's because of all the fraudulent activity that is out there nowadays.
Linda B. · Director of Operations · Non-Profit Organization Management · November 8, 2024
Absolutely disgusted with these experiences.
Pros: At the beginning, they did what they said they would.
Cons: For the past year and a half, Flipcause has been holding our funds for an average of 14-21 days before transferring. We initiate a request for transfer and expect it to be 3-5 business days. We then have to follow up with "Account Relations" where we have been told it will arrive within another 7-10 business days "they have been experiencing difficulties with their ACH service". The problem has only gotten worse and now, after 23 business days we have to file with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and forward the information to our pro-bono attorney (we are a non-profit and Flipcause is holding more than $10,000 of our funds - funds from our annual fundraiser).
Tonya D. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · November 5, 2024
Recently it’s been pretty terrible. As a non-profit we need donations to function, so them not transferring the donations to our bank account makes it pretty useless.
Pros: I think it is a really good interface for donors. I also appreciate the monthly donor option.
Cons: $8e
Caroline M. · Executive Director · Civic & Social Organization · November 5, 2024
Our overall experience has been consistently great over the seven years we’ve used Flipcause. They offer practical self-guided tutorials and person to person customer service!
Pros: This is a service that all nonprofit organizations need. Flipcause makes it possible for small nonprofit organizations! We couldn’t run campaigns, our merchant account, and database without them.
Cons: Flipcause raised their fees last year. We had to adjust to the increased cost but it is still worth the value we receive.
Amy B. · Founder and CEO · Non-Profit Organization Management · October 8, 2024
FLFR started using Flipcause in 2018. They made it very easy to integrate databases of donors to their activity tracker. And to transfer information from our old website to their system. After 6 years of using Flipcause we are delighted. Their system is easy and secure. We highly recommend their software and services.
Pros: The activity tracker, the ability to create campaigns and donation pages, the quick and efficient way in which they respond to our emails - it is human support!!! How easy it is to update our website. It is a reasonable yearly fee for a small non-profit. It has helped Friends of the Locust Fork River be organized, be better at fundraising, and become well known nonprofit in our community.
Cons: Nothing. We like it all! Since I am to write 40 characters, I can say that some of our board members have struggled a bit getting reports. Other than that it is great.
Mari B. · President, Board · Non-Profit Organization Management · October 8, 2024
EXCELLENT- I have loved every encounter with staff and customer service as well as working on the site.
Pros: All staff I have encountered are extremely helpful and respond in a timely manner. I am new to Flipcause and have been navigating and learning the site on my own. It's pretty easy to navigate and the customer service is excellent!
Cons: Nothing - I have experienced nothing that is difficult to work at Flipcause.
Nicole H. · Director of Development · Non-Profit Organization Management · October 2, 2024
There are very few companies that I would describe as specifically catering to small non-profits. I have had countless demos by sales people who pitch a great product, only to find out that their expectations and our expectations for what the price should be are leaps and bounds apart. Flipcause is the only company we've worked with that I felt was tailored specifically to our type of business. While our annual income routinely exceeds $1 million, we are relatively small. The software we've used before was not made for businesses like ours, and we had to "grin and bear it." With Flipcause, every part of their business model is based on companies similar to ours. It has been a blessing to be able to work with them.
Pros: Flipcause is designed for small non-profit companies like ours. It is the first software we've used that felt like it was created specifically for our needs instead of us having to make changes to fit software that was created for large corporations.
Cons: The initial startup costs for Flipcause seemed somewhat excessive, especially since we were not sure that it would be the right fit for us. Luckily, our board made the decision to go forward with them because we have made the initial investment back and have exceeded our prior year's fundraising goals before our fourth quarter has even started.
