Cons: Trakstar Learn lacks adequate online learning materials

Every problem was with their support and customer service
Pros: The decision to drop Trakstar and find an alternative was the best part of the experience
Cons: Customer [dis]service. Rude, arrogant, unhelpful, degrading, bully and unresponsive. Horrible culture and still waiting for refund.
Anonymous User · President · Financial Services · August 14, 2023
Horrible culture in that firm When asking for assistance, we got the corporate run around followed by incorrect email addresses We are still owed significant amount of money Beware of this firm
Pros: The best part of Mindflash (trakstar) was discontinuing the service
Cons: Don’t give them your credit card We did and it has been a huge mistake we discontinued the service years ago but they kept my credit card information and now I am battling them to correct charges They have a total disregard for doing the right thing

Horrible, waste of time and effort. Frustrating and disappointing. Waste of money. I can track trainings with more accuracy using Classmarker which is less than $50.00 month for the volume of monthly trainings we provide and require evidence of training hours.
Pros: Nothing now, but I initially thought the staff were pleasant, support and instructions would be clear and accurate. I thought the product would be an asset to our record keeping system but it does not have the capacity to do so. Being misinformed makes me frustrated.
Cons: The system does not even come close to what our expectations were and the sales pitch was evasive as was the instructions at articulating for which training types they were applicable to.

Pros: I love the ease of use. We looked at several different LMS and mindflash was the easiest to load training, create quizzes, and maintain records. If I need to pull up a specific persons training I can pull up the scores quickly instead of tracking down our old paper records. If I need to update a slide in the presentation, I can change it in the module instead of having to create a new module like some we viewed. Other than some minor confusion, most of the users love the program. They found it easy to use.
Cons: Since we have started using Mindflash we have been bumped around to several different account managers. I will sometimes email the person who last handled the account and they say they have moved on to a different role and someone else handles the account now. It would be nice for them to be proactive and say hi I am your new account manager. Also there is no app and the mobile view isn't good. If I am out of the office and I need to reset an module I have to pull out my laptop instead of being able to do it on the phone. I can't scroll the individual modules and can only see reset the entire training from my phone.

We use to have Safety training DVDs floating around our multiple warehouses increasing the likelihood that they will get lost or broken, but MindFlash help us solve that issue with this web-based training platform. No need for outdated DVDs floating around anymore!
Pros: If you are looking to rid yourself of paper rosters and manual entry of training records via a useful video training tool, MindFlash will work for you.
Cons: Once you begin growing, this may not be a great software to use since training hundreds of employees every month on one computer may result more time consuming.
Zarella S. · Safety & Compliance Manager · Warehousing · February 26, 2020
Pros: Clean appearance of the home page, easy to develop courses, reports.
Cons: I found not being able to rotate the courses on iPhone unfortunate
John S. · Trainer · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · February 11, 2020
Its been a pleasure to work with the support staff and the system. But your people make all the difference - 100%. Representative has been great work with.
Pros: This systems has proven to be easy to use, easy to train on and its simple to get folks up to speed on because of its ease of use.
Cons: It lacks a timer (to time out - not a due date) for assessments (like the NMLS exam, SATs, etc).
Matt C. · VP Training · Financial Services · July 15, 2019
Training can be conducted at any time that suits, in addition it is possible to quickly upload a training course as it is required by customers.
Pros: Mindflash is a great platform to conduct online training. It enables the participants to undertake the online training when it suits them and provides an opportunity for the assessment as part of the process.
Cons: Nothing really, it works well and good value for money.
Greg F. · Managing Partner · Construction · July 12, 2019
Mindflash has allowed us to increase our training 'reach', firstly across multiple locations in South Africa and now also into our business interests in the UK as well. We plan to extend this further into mainland Europe in the future. Online training in our industry has been revolutionized by our bespoke learning content.
Pros: The ease of use without the need for specialised software and additional downloads. We can work from existing materials authored in everyday Office software.
Cons: Nothing to dislike. Challenges we initially anticipated have not materialised.
Rob K. · Learning & Development Manager · Commercial Real Estate · July 12, 2019
The National Association of REALTORS made a requirement that if we require MLS (Multiple Listing Service) training, we must offer it online as well. Now we are compliant with that requirement. So there is that aspect of it. Furthermore, we had some out of area members that were not allowing people in their office to join here because we had required training that was only available in person. Because we now have some of that training online and may have other required classes available online in the future, we now have more members. Now that we have online training and I can quiz them on it, I know they know it, instead of just sitting in a classroom where all they have to do is sit there and be awake.
Pros: Ease of use, right out of the "box". We started using Mindflash a couple years ago when everything was called Series and Modules. It was/is so intuitive. Just upload your PowerPoint slides, add some YouTube videos, and create your tests. I enter students one by one because of the way we use it, but I love the option of being able to add them in batches. SO much easier than one by one when you have a lot to enter. When the Series and Modules changed to Modules and Courses, and the classes auto saved, it became even more streamlined! I love the new look and functionality. I love all the options. I don't use some of them, but I like that they are there.
Cons: Not being able to delete (not just inactivate) users. I have had two or three people in my position from other associations call and ask about Mindflash. I tell them what I wrote above (generally) and offer to give them a login so they can see how it looks on the user side. It would be nice to remove them from our system so it doesn't skew our numbers. Also, and maybe this is something I should do, but I have agents contacting me all the time needing me to reset their module. When I explain how they can go to the home page and continue/resume or reset, they seem confused and either don't understand what I'm talking about, or don't see it. A brief "How to use Mindflash" tutorial autoplayed when they first login, with a link to play it again would be helpful, especially for those who are technologically challenged. Also if the house at the top left were bigger that would help too.
Tonya M. · MLS Administrator · Real Estate · July 11, 2019
Pros: I love that the software can house tons of records for my company to login and use for quality compliance.
Cons: Not many cons with the software. The feature I dislike is some of the automatic arrangement features when arranging content, but there ways around.
Derek B. · Health and Safety Manager · Research · July 11, 2019
Pros: I liked uploading my excel spreadsheets to the system and having mass invites and reminders sent to users.
Cons: There were several things I did not enjoy about this system. The reporting was off when we would run reports on the same things on different days. I also did not like the lack of drop-down options for our users, which made reporting demographics difficult. Above all, it was not a user-friendly system for our users. Many were confused and had difficulties logging in and completing the training. This was the ultimate deal-breaker after being with Mindflash as an organization for just over 3 years.
Nicole C. · Training Coordinator · Philanthropy · January 25, 2019
Pros: Mindflash as one of the legacy leader has a ton of features. It's definitely a big selling point of this software.
Cons: Horrible UX and UI. Also they have a really bad support for touch devices such as mobile and tablets.
Anonymous User · UX/UI Designer · Computer Software · December 27, 2018
Pros: Easy to view what is marked for training to complete. UI is fairly easy on the eyes. Can search for available training. Kept track of progress and resumed when you continued.
Cons: I felt the search method was kind of lacking, I found it somewhat difficult to find the right training material sometimes. it also constantly reminded me of training to complete, which at first was nice, but later was annoying.
Erik E. · Computer Software · December 16, 2018
Pros: I like that this product offers all training modules for new employees and current employees, which has been a huge help and leading success tool in making sure everyone is up to date with trainings and it is self conduct, so it allows staff to get this done in a timely manner and on their time as well. I also like that we have been able to add all training Videos and modules in this product
Cons: Sometimes the searching for a video or module can be frustrating if you dont type in correctly
Brittany H. · Hr operation Specialist · Human Resources · November 30, 2018
Pros: The best thing about this LMS is its flexibility to invite participants to enroll in the courses, the user experience is very simple for my liking, the loading of content is very simple, the whole environment is very simple, I have worked with better LMS
Cons: A software developer understands very well how to create reports, but for the end user it is not easy, they are quite simple and not detailed reports, the structure of prices / user plans is not very flexible. It has the basic functions of an LMS but can be improved.
Felix F. · Project Leader · Management Consulting · May 22, 2018
Even with the cons, I’d rate Mindflash a solid performer. You can quickly provide trainees a personalized dashboard. The content and user management interfaces are easy to use. The quiz options beat most of the platforms we’ve looked at. The platform provides basic LMS features at a very reasonable price. We’ve not had any showstoppers and our content library continues to grow. I’d recommend Mindflash as a solid but basic LMS for learners and administrators.
Pros: $79
Cons: $7a
Ron H. · Dir Channel Support Programs · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · February 17, 2018
Pros: This LMS was a breath of fresh air after using a big name player for the last few years. The software is simple and easy to administer. We have all the functionality we need and can accomplish all the same tasks we did previously but in less amount of time.
Cons: It would be nice if the had a better way to connect with our HRIS and some additional automation. This can all be accomplished through their API but that requires a tech resource we don't have.
Anonymous User · Human Resources Business Partner · Financial Services · December 26, 2017
Pros: The simplicity of the platform makes it easy to use, with the benefits of reporting, automation, and verification. I also look forward to some upcoming features to be added in the near future.
Cons: They have some issues to work out with their search feature and filters within courses.
Tiffani W. · Compliance Coordinator · Construction · December 5, 2017
Many. Easy to update and intuitive is most important to me right now. When showcasing the selected tool, others trainers/admin appreciate it's ease-of-use (easier to justify purchase when they see and understand what the program is trying to accomplish). Service is great. If CSM team don't have an answer right away, they will find out for me. They are concerned about my success.
Pros: Easy to update (modular). Intuitive UI. Not a huge learning curve (don't have time for a learning curve). Service is excellent.
Cons: Small things-custom certificates is an add-on. Some screen resolution issues with simulations. Can't save recorded audio when all I need to do is replace the slide.
Dianne H. · Training Program Manager · Information Technology and Services · September 1, 2017
Pros: It is user-friendly. We can easily create training that is geared to our own needs. We can update or correct the training as needed. Our staff find the trainings easy to use.
Steve D. · Professional Development Coordinator · Individual & Family Services · August 18, 2017
Attendance of new material delivery and testing for understanding it can now be done online. Being a department of one, it is a huge time saver. Tracking users' activity takes me minutes now instead of hours. We have a lot of annual requirements I need to track and report back to the government and this is allowing me much more time to work on material and not have to monitor end users.
Pros: The ease of entering material into it. The quizzes are easy to create and there is a large variety to select. Adding additional material to a course is sooo easy! Maintaining users is simple. It won't let you make a mistake.
Cons: No spell check in quizzes. Can't make edits to a particular slide in a course, but edits are made externally and easily replaced in Mindflash.
