Overall, my experience with Forma LMS has been good. It’s a solid platform for managing employee training and online learning, especially for companies that want customization without spending too much on licensing. There’s definitely a learning curve at the beginning, but once you get familiar with it, the platform does its job well and offers a lot of useful features.
Pros: What I liked most about Forma LMS is how flexible it is. It has all the main features needed for employee training, like course management, quizzes, certificates, reporting, and SCORM support. I also liked that it’s open source, which makes it more affordable compared to many other LMS platforms. Once everything is set up, it works reliably and gives good control over users and training progress.
Cons: The biggest downside for me was the interface. It feels a bit outdated and not always very intuitive, especially for new users. The setup process can also be time-consuming if you don’t have technical experience, and I noticed a few minor bugs during customization and updates.

We are currently evaluating Forma LMS for our organization and planning implementation. So far, it looks like a strong option for corporate training because it is flexible, configurable, and can be customized to match different needs. It feels best suited for teams that want control and have technical capacity to manage the platform.
Pros: It's Free, Open-Source which gives a space for those who are running low in budget to train their employees in LMS systems without worrying about additional cost. I like that it’s customizable and can be adapted for different clients. So, Thank you.
Cons: Would love to have an online interactive demo. As the project manager, I’m not technical, so I’d really like to see how it looks before getting help from my technical co-founder. Some advanced customization may still require developer effort.

It allows organizations to structure courses, user roles, and learning paths according to their specific needs. The platform supports a wide range of learning materials and integrates well with SCORM content. The first setup needed some technical knowledge, especially when setting up roles and permissions. The interface looks a little old-fashioned compared to more contemporary LMS systems. Certain functions are not very intuitive at first and need some time to get used to.
Pros: The thing that I liked most about Forma LMS is that it is flexible and customizable. It enabled us to organize courses and handle users according to various roles. The reporting function was useful for monitoring the progress of learners, and it is compatible with SCORM files, which made uploading courses easier. It is reliable for handling internal training programs once it is properly set up.

Forma LMS is a robust and highly flexible tool for managing complex training environments. It’s particularly effective for organizations that need to handle multiple distinct groups of learners under one roof. While the interface requires some getting used to, the depth of reporting and the lack of restrictive licensing make it a very sustainable long-term solution.
Pros: Multi-Tenancy Support: The ability to manage different clients or departments within a single system is often cited as its strongest feature. Deep Customization: Because it's open-source, you can tailor the look and functionality to match your brand perfectly. Skill & Gap Analysis: The platform excels at tracking competencies and identifying exactly where learners need more focus. Cost-Effectiveness: It provides enterprise-level features without the per-user licensing fees of proprietary software.
Cons: Administrative UI: The backend can feel a bit dated or complex, especially for those used to modern "drag-and-drop" SaaS interfaces. Learning Curve: It often requires a dedicated technical person or a significant time investment to set up and configure properly. Documentation: Finding clear, updated tutorials in English can sometimes be a challenge since the community is very international.

Overall, my experience has been positive, especially from an enterprise training perspective. Once the system is properly set up, it becomes a reliable platform for managing internal learning, onboarding, and compliance programs. It’s not the most beginner-friendly LMS, but if you have IT support and need a scalable, customizable solution, it performs really well. Over time, we were able to tailor it closely to our workflows, which made it a valuable long-term investment, in short, its value for money.
Pros: Having used Forma LMS for over two years, what I’ve appreciated the most is how flexible and customizable it is for corporate training. We were able to structure learning paths for different departments, automate certifications, and track compliance training quite effectively. The reporting capabilities are strong once you understand them, and the platform handles large user bases well. I also liked that it’s open-source — it gave us full control over features, integrations, and data without being locked into expensive licensing.
Cons: The biggest downside is the user interface — it feels outdated compared to modern LMS platforms. Initial setup and customization require technical knowledge, so it’s not something a non-technical team can manage easily. Some features aren’t very intuitive, and new admins need training to navigate the system properly. Also, upgrades and plugin compatibility can sometimes be a bit tricky.

I liked its open-source nature, flexibility in customization, and support for multiple learning formats such as SCORM. The reporting and tracking features are useful for monitoring learner progress effectively.
Cons: The user interface feels slightly outdated and could be more visually engaging. Initial setup and customization require technical knowledge, which may be challenging for non-technical users. Limited built-in integrations compared to some commercial LMS platforms is also a drawback.

My overall experience with Forma LMS over two years has been positive. It’s a reliable and cost-effective platform for managing employee training, with strong reporting and role-based security. There’s a small learning curve and the UI feels a bit dated, but once users are trained, it’s easy to use and works smoothly with minimal issues.
Pros: What I liked most about Forma LMS is how simple and practical it is for managing training at scale. The platform makes it easy to create courses, assign them to users, track progress, and generate reports without needing heavy technical knowledge. Its clean interface, strong reporting features, and role-based access control make it very suitable for organizations that want an efficient, secure, and cost-effective learning management system.
Cons: What I liked least about Forma LMS is that the user interface feels a bit outdated and not very intuitive at first, which can make navigation confusing for new users. Some features require extra steps to configure, and occasional minor bugs or slow loading times can affect the overall experience. It also requires initial training for admins to fully understand how to use all the capabilities effectively.

Overall, our experience with Forma LMS has been very positive. It’s a robust and reliable platform that gives us a lot of flexibility to design training programs tailored to our organization’s needs. While there is a learning curve during setup and configuration, the long-term payoff is strong especially in terms of customization, reporting, and scalability. Once everything is in place, it runs smoothly and supports complex corporate learning structures effectively. It feels like a solid, enterprise-grade solution for teams that want control over their learning environment without being locked into expensive licensing models.
Pros: What we like most about Forma LMS is its flexibility and open-source foundation. It gives us full control to customize learning paths, branding, and integrations without being locked into rigid enterprise licensing models. We also really value how well it supports structured corporate training—certifications, role-based programs, tracking, and reporting are all built in. Combined with its scalability and active community, it feels like a powerful platform for building tailored learning experiences while keeping long-term costs predictable.
Cons: What we like least about Forma LMS is that the interface can feel a bit dated in some areas compared to newer SaaS learning platforms, and certain workflows take time to configure when you’re first setting things up. Because it’s highly customizable, there can also be a learning curve for administrators, especially without dedicated in-house technical support. Some advanced features require deeper configuration, which can slow initial rollout for smaller teams. That said, once configured properly, the platform is very stable and powerful for long-term corporate training needs.
