Palmtech Home Inspection Software

Pros: My clients and realtors absolutely love the the visual on the report. They are so impressed with the interactive build list button and the overall layout of the report. Also, Palmtech IT support staff addresses and answers my questions and concerns quickly and professionally

Cons: I would have to say that when updates are pushed and features that I like to use disappear. An example would be the magnification box that was available on the photo edit being removed. I was disappointed when my palmtech 8 was no longer supported, but palmtech complete has many benefits not available on pervious versions

Pros: I like how fluid it was with your agreement, invoicing and report. Upgraded mobile app works much better than Palm tech 9.

Cons: The ability to add components like the chimney in the roofing category. Seems to be difficult. I have to add every line. Unlike the present add button from Palm tech 9. Slows down my inspection. Many times it come up on the houses with extra appliances, Chimney, hot water, tanks, etc.

Pros: I love the ability to tailor make home inspection templates. I have realtors who want the wording done in a way that is legal but also in such a way that it doesn't scare clients off. That way my reports are custom to each client.

Cons: The learning curve for me at first was a little difficult. But with a little help from tech support the reporting became much easier.

Pros: Easy to use, like copy and paste, ease of dragging photos and add remarks Having a summary option makes the client and real estate brokers so impressed.

Cons: None really , the software is so comprehensive and keep updating regularly. However , I was more comfortable with version 8 than 9.

Pros: This software is no good for NewZealand inspectors due to the date format and this can not be changed on the report template

Cons: No to much to say really, just disappointed that the software isn’t user-friendly and that can be changed does not seem to want to have much to do about it so my opinion, the software is not at this stage able to be used in New Zealand

Pros: The simplicity of the old versions, their customer support and paying once for the software.

Cons: They cannot be trusted, and profits are now their number one priority.

Pros: Greatly reduced need for report editting offsite.

Cons: Had to learn how to use it with youtube videos and making mock inspections to fine tune both report and how to enter data.

Pros: I have used it for years and am familiar with the product.

Cons: I am only using the photo section of the program for my bank draw inspections but get billed as if I am using the whole package.

Pros: Version 7 & 9 are easy to use and buyers think they are very easy to understand.

Cons: When I bought Palm Tech 7. I paid for it and was informed it was mine to use forever. After over 10 years of use palm tech discontinued support of it and I bought “Complete and hated it, finally was told I could download version 9 but would still have to pay the monthly fee. I don’t think I should have to pay a monthly fee for something I purchased and was told I could use it forever.

Pros: What I like most about Palmtech is the Easy use of the software, it’s functionality, and all encompassing reporting system. The company has thought of everything needed for a professional, complete report.

Cons: After using several different report, writing software, Palmtech really has it all. There’s nothing the software program can’t do to complete a beautiful report that I’m proud to handoff to my clients.

Pros: I’ve only been an inspector for about six months. I’ve used the program three times and I found it easy to use as a novice. I’m getting used to customizing the process which again I find easy to do.

Cons: Because I’m a new user I’ve been paying $50 a month but have not done enough inspections to make it price efficient just jet.

Pros: Simplicity, small learning curve. Doesnt have all the unnecessary bells, whistles and fluff. No training video needed for agents and clients.

Cons: Tech support is nowhere near what it was when [sensitive content hidden] was still in charge. Support is very slow at getting issues resolved .

Pros: Easy to use, reporting , taking pictures, and sending reports

Cons: Can not send contract with inspection appointment email

Pros: I really like the features ( Credit card and accounting feature, All my pictures are saved in the media library so I can add them if I need to revise my report )

Cons: It took my a while to get the software figured out ( I'm not the most computer savvy person for sure ) But the more I use it the more I like it. The biggest con I have is It needs to save my comments permanently and not just for that inspection in the library

Pros: Templates. Abilty to customize templates.

Cons: Software crashes alot. Have to call tech support.

Pros: Older version easy to use. One time purchase.

Cons: They shut my repoting system down with little warning. Got me in a bind in mid inspection reporting to a client. Now wanting to charge me 500 a year to use it. Looks like there trying to kill a good business.

Pros: After years of learning how to work around the glitches, I finally got use to it.

Cons: Very glitchy, poor customer service, problems never resolved.

Pros: I cant think of a single thing. Its a horrible company poised to take as much of your money as it can.

Cons: There customer service and support is useless.

Pros: I loved my Version 8 and versions prior to 8. I knew my way around the software.

Cons: I unfortunately was forced to make a decision after learning that I won't be able to access my Version 8 after 1/31/2024. I purchased Palm-tech complete and can not figure it out. It is sooo different. I've spent about 40 hours so far trying to customize it for me. Also the program is slow. It buffers after every entry. My old template was downloaded and it's not the same. Who came up with this new version. Have they done a report? There is no way to separate Living Spaces or multiple Bedrooms/Bathrooms. My realtors are used to getting a summary with marginal and defective items first. Then they go through my report with pictures and descriptions at the end. This new version is going to throw everyone off. It took me forever to write a simple report due to the delay when I click on a simple item.

Pros: I liked the layout. Some of the tech support was pretty good.

Cons: Palmtech is forcing their new products on users. I bought the revision they said that I would never have to pay again, but now they say it will not work after Jan 31, 2023. Their integrity is low.

Pros: Easy to use, adding photos to report is without a doubt better than other software programs.

Cons: Hangs up on occasion, when using speech-to word it does not always recognize what is spoken. Review and spell check do not always work correctly.

Pros: When I decided to discontinue using Palm-Tech!!

Cons: I’ve been a user since 2015, I was recently notified by email that in February 2024, my free software was being “ Updated”, and I will have to start paying a monthly fee for using software I’ve already paid nearly $1,000 for!! Now it’s $50/Month or $500 per year!! Since this notification tech support has notified me they are no longer providing tech support for my version! Essentially, they’ve made using the software obsolete!!! WHAT A TOTAL BREACH OF CONTRACT!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Pros: Is easy to customize. Clients and Agents like the format of the easy to read reports

Cons: The software does not handle large report files as well as I would like. One larger buildings where there are a few hundred pictures, the user experiences slow response time, and often program crashes.
