Pros: Ease of use for new and experienced home inspectors, excellent report generating features, available support almost 24/7 when needed

Cons: I have had sometimes trouble with downloading a reports or timed out session and have had to start the process over

Pros: The customer service was top notch. Any question I had those folks were there to answer day or night, even on weekends. Can't say the same about Spectora.

Cons: Gosh where to start. It was riddled with bugs. So much so that I had to switch as it was just adding more stress than it was worth. Granted this was about three years ago so I would expect some of them will have been worked through, but it was costing money and patience.

Pros: For the cost the software does all that we need. I like that we can use multiple inspectors to complete larger projects, I like that the software works with both Mac and PC users. I like that the software has added templates for our states insurance report requirements.

Cons: It is not as intuitive as some options so the reports have redundant steps that are required making the reporting more time consuming. Also we are finding that the completion of reports must be done from the desktop so we cannot finish report in the field.

Pros: The finished report looks really nice and lists the important findings first instead of reading through the entire document making notes along the way.

Cons: The app camera and my iPhone don’t work well together. Focusing is a big challenge and the photos never look sharp.

Pros: It makes clean looking reports.

Cons: How glitchy it is, and how updates to respond to glitches take forever, or simply don't happen.

Pros: $79

Cons: Everything's fine. There is nothing that I like. Least, if you don't purchase this software and get the custom page and learn to use the hip office, you will never notice the full\n Experience of how this program helps you.

Pros: Easy to understand and use. Helpful pre written comments to choose from. Always helpful staff to aid me with any questions!!!

Cons: The initial start up takes 20-30 seconds before I can begin using it. Some features are not necessary for my usage.

Pros: Final product ( report) is good. There is a steep learning curve to using the app and program like anything new but generally it’s well organized

Cons: The camera. The glitches. The time to update and repair the issues. Three years ago the camera was stable. Now it has many glitches. It has improved recently but there are numerous occasions where I have to take the picture 3/4 times to get a good photo. The app is very glitchy at times. It’s very frustrating when a new version is automatically updated and there are major issues. Capturing the house conditions on site on HIP needs to be seamless 100% of the time.

Pros: Ease of use. Quality reports. Realtors like format of inspection report. Ease of taking photos while at inspection site.

Cons: Need to add AI to software when your at the inspection site, too shorten time to finish reports. Can’t add pictures to report without being connected to cell service.

Pros: HIP has been the best reporting system over the years. I used several other reporting systems before using and implementing Home Inspector Pro. When I first met [sensitive content hidden] he focused on customer needs... his team continues to do the same.

Cons: Building the first set of HDF files... I found this super important to do and once I understood the importance, I was able to adapt and make this an focus point to learn and implement.

Pros: Home Inspector Pro is easy to use and chock-full of features that allows anyone to build any type of template they can imagine. The included templates are easy to tailor to your own preferences, and the ability to choose pre-written descriptions is a real time saver.

Cons: While definitely not a negative, it does take a little practice to remember where to go for the different things you may want to do. Being a "well-seasoned" individual like me does make it less intuitive, but even I do get is sorted! For the younger folks out there, I'm sure it's a snap.

Pros: Ease of use and being able to customize my reports. It looks professional and my clients like how easy to read it is.

Cons: There is a lag in the system when trying to add arrows or shapes to highlight an area in a photo. In the field using my ipad is quick. On my desktop it's slow.

Pros: Ease of use, reports, the help desk provides amazing service the cost is reasonable and the app is rarely down

Cons: should have more comments available to add to reports and make sure to have new templates available quickly

Pros: I have really enjoyed HIP. The flow is really good and in the past the tech support has been amazing!

Cons: The tech support has gone down, and the issues have gone up in the last 6months. Very disappointed in HIP and Repair pricer not working together after we made a big switch with them.

Pros: I like that I am able to customize my reports. The ability to add pictures and easily label them makes the inspection report process easier.

Cons: The customization of reports can be tricky and takes getting used to what all the settings and formats do. IT takes a lot of trial and error. I would like the ability to re-size images and fonts when using the IPAD app.

Pros: I like the ability to make changes as needed and I like the rating system - satisfactory, marginal, poor, safety, N/A, along with their color check marks. These is MUCH easier to read at a glance than other reports from other software companies that have a box and "x" system making you scroll back to see what the rating actually indicates. I don't ever remember receiving a call for an explanation about a finished report of an inspected property.

Cons: Since the beginning of 2025, it is becoming harder and harder to receive assistance when needed and often times I never receive a phone call even when leaving a detailed message. I have to call the sales department to be able to leave any message. PLEASE IMPROVE THIS ISSUE.

Pros: It is easy to use and the reports are easy to read. Many realtors say that my reports are much better than other inspectors/software.

Cons: Some times the camera is blurry, this is a problem when you have to go back and retake pictures. This has gotten better.

Pros: The ease of using it when I do my Inspections. The supporting team is very knowledgeable and quick to respond.

Cons: The videos cannot be selected to go to summary from the mobile app. You need to select that option when you working on the desktop app.

Pros: I love the customizing aspect of the software and the available comments. The chat support is amazing! I usually have my answer within 5 minutes when I have a question.

Cons: It took me a long time to understand the cloud feature in order to generate a pdf report. This was confusing to me coming from a software that I could send the report directly from my IPad.

Pros: I like the fact if you don't skip any section in the app. then you most likely did a full and complete inspection.

Cons: Spelling errors in the app. I know that we are able to fix these error but it seems there should not be any spelling errors in the app from the beginning.

Pros: Don’t have to pay for subscription. Bought the software and don’t have to continue paying a monthly subscription. The app is easy to use.

Cons: Being pushed to the subscription model. In order to get latest and greatest updates the company wants you to have the monthly subscription.
