I have had a really good experience overall. The platform is user friendly and the video quality is great! It would be nice to have assistance with taking notes/documentation to help save time.
Pros: I love the fact that I can use it for free until I reach the maximum number of clients. I also appreciate that Telehealth is only an additional $10 a month.
Cons: I feel like the interface can be more appealing. It seems a bit outdated. That has big my biggest con, honestly. The colors, the menu, etc, are just not appealing.

I've had a hugely positive experience with Sessions, especially after switching from an EHR that felt much less interested in user experience and client privacy.
Pros: I've had only positive experiences with Sessions Health. I use Sessions as my primary telehealth platform and I rarely have any issues. The staff is super responsive both through the platform and on social media, which I value. Also, the way that the platform prompts you to write your next note after you finish one is exactly what my ADHD brain needed to go from constantly having outstanding notes to finishing mine completely most days. Sincerely, gamechanger for me. My clients have also had few to no complaints about their end of the experience.
Cons: The issues I have with the platform are so minor. Aesthetically it's not my favorite but it's certainly not unpleasant, and as I've used it more customization features have been rolled out. I also don't enjoy seeing revenue from the past 30 days and next 30 days on my homepage, but that is also minor and doesn't really impact day-to-day functioning.

My overall experience with sessions health has been positive, and I would recommend it to fellow clinicians.
Pros: Sessions health has been my go to EHR. The platform is intuitive. It does everything that I need and want to do. My clients find it easy to navigate in. The price is positioned perfectly for a small practice owner.
Cons: Some features around sending documentation to clients can be difficult at times but after a few repetitions, it got easy.
James M. · LMFT · Health, Wellness and Fitness · May 14, 2026
Pros: Good value and good service. I like Sessions Health provides free EHR for clinicians with very small caseload.I also found the built-in templates to be helpful.
Cons: It's a bit pricey for their new A.I. assistance services as they charge about $40 per month per clinician.

Having used several different platforms both in an agency setting and my own private practice setting, Sessions is my favorite without question. The very best part of it is that after having set up my forms etc., I really don't have to think about it. It just works. And on the very rare occasion that I've needed assistance, the customer service is extremely responsive and helpful.
Pros: I switched to Sessions Health from another EHR platform. They were extremely helpful throughout the process of switching over. I found the set-up to be intuitive, and I appreciated the range of pre-done forms, assessments etc., as well as the ease of making my own. Scheduling and billing are seamless, and the reminder emails/texts to clients as well as the automated generation of super bills makes a lot of the administrative tasks very easy. I love that I can "load last progress note" to make note writing more efficient, and the range of form options makes writing my treatment plans and diagnostic assessments flow smoothly and fit exactly what I need. It's easily the best value in terms of cost. I appreciate the emails the send on occasion alerting me to updates and improvements they've made, and the customer service is superior. I would highly, highly recommend this platform for therapists.
Cons: My least favorite part of Sessions Health is that when I create a new appointment in the calendar, it then goes into "day" mode instead of staying in "month" mode. I also wish that there was a way to upload my written signature to apply to superbills instead of the electronic "signing" option.

Straightforward and intuitive to use. Nothing extraneous. Support is open to suggestions for tweaks and improvements.
Pros: Reasonably priced, user friendly, and responsive support to improve user experience. I love that I don’t pay if I have less than 3 clients but I don’t lose access to data.
Cons: There is nothing I don’t like about SH. Its layout and options are clearly outlined. I’ve used other EHRs and this is the most user friendly.

Pros: As a new business owner, Sessions Health's Freemium plan has been so helpful. There are are so many startup costs at the beginning of starting a business and this plan has really given me wiggle room in my budget to focus on other things. I love that telehealth is integrated into the EHR and having the same link is helpful for myself and my clients to refer back to. I also love that the Sessions Health staff is so open to user feedback. I have seen some really amazing features come out thanks to them being so open and learning about our workflow for using this EHR.
Cons: I haven't had this happen in a while, but I used to have some issues with the telehealth feature and connectivity.
Jessica T. · Licensed Clinical Social Worker · Health, Wellness and Fitness · May 5, 2026
My overall experience with Sessions Health has been very positive. I did a lot of research on EHR systems and did trials with a couple of them, Sessions is by far the best bang for my buck.
Pros: Sessions Health is easy to use because the platform is intuitive. I really appreciate that it seamlessly syncs with Google Calendar for me and my clients. The customer support system is responsive. I like being able to copy my client's notes from the previous session with one click.
Cons: I'm still trying to figure out the best way for my clients to schedule a consultation with me virtually only instead of attempting a consultation in person.

I have been with Sessions Health for 3+ yrs now. I will NEVER seek out another EHR software program as long as I am in practice and I will make sure to recommend Sessions to anyone that asks!
Pros: I appreciate the ease of use/intuitiveness, the fact that the software isn't overcomplicated, that everything is so incredibly easy to find on the dashboard, the value for the money, and the fact that I now have EVERYTHING I need in one spot: my EHR, my virtual session platform and my AI note assistant!
Cons: I honestly cannot think of anything that I would suggest they change, add, or remove. I am thrilled that I now have everything I need to successfully and efficiently run my private practice, all in one place!
Heidi S. · LPC · Mental Health Care · May 1, 2026
Wonderful!! It was easy to transition from another EHR to Sessions help. The customer service is always responsive.
Pros: It is cost efficient. I love the customer service. The client's enjoy the portal. It is easy to complete my billing and access claims.
Cons: I would like a way to check off and reconcile payments when they are deposited into my bank account.

I've used a variety of EHRs in my career and hands down Sessions Health has been my favorite, and only recommended EHR to fellow colleagues. I found it incredibly easy to get things started in terms of setting up my notes and patient documents, and start to use it immediately. For the price it truly cannot be beat. So many EHRs nickel and dime you for basics, all of which are directly integrated into their product and at a fair cost. As mental health practitioners who are constantly fighting to be paid fairly, to have a medical record system that isn't trying to extract more money from us is amazing. I am a solo practitioner, so I can't speak to how the various staff roles work, but when I considered expanding it seemed easy enough. Setting up auto-bill and invoicing definitely made my job much easier for any private pay clients, and clients are able to log in and update information easily.
Pros: The ease of setting up my practice, uploading my own documents, and ensuring that I have complete control of my notes, system, and workflow. They also seem to update their product regularly with well designed and thoughtful updates.
Cons: They have reporting functionality, but I wish that you could do a YoY or MoM review. essentially being able to see the 13 month view for a comparison. Mostly this would be for the "overview" section. You can still pull that data and go through it yourself, but seeing it on the overview tab would be nice.

I have been using Sessions for over 2 years, and it has helped my business in the ways that I had hoped. As my practice grew, I need more organization and automation.
Pros: Session has been highly customizable, and easy to use. As a queer and trans provider, who works with many LGBTQIA+ folx, I have been able to build forms that are affirming. The Sessions staff have been friendly and really helpful. Especially in the beginning when I was learning. They also have so much helpful information on the website. Sharing forms and intake documents has been simple, and my clients have not had any issues. Overall it is a great EHR, has what I need to run my practice, and the price is far better than other EHRs.
Cons: Learning how to set up, and use Sessions wasn't very intuitive, but there was so much information, that I was able to learn, and now it feels like it flows well.
Cairn Y. · Licensed Professional Counseling · Mental Health Care · March 26, 2026
Fantastic. As I stated above, it’s intuitive, well thought out, and customer service has been great.
Pros: I like that I can tell therapists developed Sessions Health. It feels intuitive from a practitioner perspective that other EHRs I’ve used have been sorely lacking. My current favorite thing is a new feature where you can see at a glance on the calendar if the progress note has been written for an appt or not. I’ve also reached out to customer service a handful of times and they’ve been super prompt and helpful! But truly best of all, in mine and many, many, other therapists opinions is that they have not added ANY AI to the platform. This is such an incredible rarity these days and I’m so grateful for it. I don’t have to worry about my client’s privacy being violated by some awful planet ruining AI machine using their personal info to “learn”. Truly, so refreshing.
Cons: I don’t have any complaints. I will say that I don’t use the insurance part of it (I use different platform for that billing) so I can’t speak to how that works.
Samantha U. · Licensed Professional Counselor · Mental Health Care · March 9, 2026
Very easy to use, no unnecessary bells and whistles. The learning curve is short although billing can be confusing at times.
Pros: The simplicity and the price. I think the cost is very affordable and I really enjoy the streamlined interface.
Cons: The inability to batch cancel an entire day. It's a huge pain to cancel an entire week of sessions for vacation.
Justin W. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · January 27, 2026
I highly recommend sessions health. They are easy to use, great value, good customer service. They make regular improvements.
Pros: It’s easy to use, great value, outstanding customer service. They regularly make improvements which I appreciate.
Cons: There are a few updates I’d like to see. For example the ability to add self scoring assessments of my own, or changing my calendar to only show days I am working. I also wish the stripe fees were lower.
Heather C. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · January 26, 2026
It was an Incredibly smooth transition for me to switch from simple practice to sessions. I recommend it to every therapist I chat with!
Pros: The intuitive nature of it and the price point!! I love that my calendar is color coded and that it’s not overly complicated!
Cons: I’d love this AI feature I’ve heard about for the following session! Not sure what it’s called but I think the beta group has it! No issues but that would be a nice feature!
McKaley J. · Owner · Mental Health Care · January 21, 2026
I have LOVED using sessions. It was by far the most seamless part of starting my own therapy practice.
Pros: I love the ease of use with Sessions. It feels simple in a way that helps my brain not feel too overwhelmed with things like booking sessions, collecting payments, completing notes, and connecting with clients through the portal! For how inexpensive it is, it's amazing that it can do so many things! I don't think that I will ever use another EHR system
Cons: Creating new forms feels a little difficult at times especially when you want to create more unique and custom forms, but I know how to work around it now.
Hannah R. · Practice Owner · Mental Health Care · January 20, 2026
My overall experience has been very positive. I have been with Sessions for a few years and have been exceptionally pleased with them.
Pros: Sessions has the best customer service experience out of any EHR system that I have worked with. They are attentive and responsive to all questions.
Cons: Sessions has filled every need my group practice has, so there has not been anything I have liked least.
Wendy B. · Owner · Mental Health Care · January 20, 2026
Pros: I changed EHR‘s from a leading competitor to sessions. The switch has been so easy; the the platform is user-friendly, and I’m also extremely comforted knowing that the mission and values of sessions EHR aligned with my own.
Cons: There is really nothing I dislike about sessions health. I feel like it is a completely full service option for my practice.
Jennifer B. · Psychologist · Mental Health Care · January 16, 2026
I have tried other ehr platforms and I find sessions to be the easiest clearest most intuitive and most helpful
Pros: It is intuitive, there is excellent customer service, and it is very easy to use. I think it is an excellent product and would not change.
Cons: I continue to enjoy using sessions and there is nothing I do not like about it. It has only gotten better and added more features.
Jaclyn F. · OWNER, CLINICIAN · Mental Health Care · January 3, 2026
It is a decent EHR for a smaller scale practice. We outgrew the system after we had about 10 clinicians.
Pros: It is very affordable and fairly easy to use and navigate. You can easily view the entire clinic's schedule in one place. The patient portal is straightforward and easy for client's to use.
Cons: The types of reports you can run on revenue, client sessions, retention, and outcomes are limited. The report functionality is limited if you want to run complex reports. It is also difficult to see rooms that are scheduled by clinicians in the calendar.
Diana G. · Psychologist · Mental Health Care · December 22, 2025
Sessions Health is easy for my clients to use, my learning curve was low, it has no confusing bloat, the app works well, and customer service is fast to respond.
Pros: My favorite thing about Sessions Health is how easy it is to learn how to use. I'm legally blind but the website and app are both easy to learn and navigate. I've used Athena, Insync, Simple Practice, and Epic, but Sessions Health is my favorite (because ease of learning curve). It has all the things I need and no bloat.
Cons: I wish the remittance and ERA setup process was more straight forward and integrated. I dread that entire process and it seems some other EMRs have this better handled.
Ciel D. · Owner and Therapist · Mental Health Care · December 11, 2025
Pros: I love Sessions and recommend them to all my colleagues. The value is unbeatable and they customer service is top notch.
Cons: I'd love if they had more robust reports/analytics. I run a small group practice and being able to run more reports would be great.
Megan E. · Therapist and Owner · Individual & Family Services · December 2, 2025
In the past, I used Therapy Notes and it was not as convenient, didn't have as many features, and the support staff did not try to accommodate any requests. Now using SH, I feel more equip to focus on my clients then worry about some of the logistics of EHR. Anytime someone is needing a EHR, I tell them all the benefits of SH and nothing else compares!
Pros: The ease of each feature. The support staff is always quick to respond and helpful. Clients report using SH is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I love how much I can do within SH, but it does not seem overwhelming or confusing. I also love the price (especially how it has not changed, minus taxes) and how the calendar syncs to my personal calendar!
Cons: There is no app for therapist or clients. When accepting a portal request, it takes you to the note page which does not make any sense. I wish it took us to the calendar to view the appointment instead. - When looking at our calendar view, instead of arrows for 1 week at a time, I wish there was a calendar pop up to help select a day/time instead of clicking 1 week at a time.
Kristin L. · Marriage and Family Therapist · Mental Health Care · December 2, 2025
I am very happy and recommend it to everyone. The support and tech team are clearly invested in making it an good experience.
Pros: I love the interface, how user friendly it is, and how quick and convenient onboarding process is for my patients. Making my own templates is a breeze. It's an ethical company that does not use patient information for AI training. Team are quick to respond, and are very open to feedback. The price is very fair.
Cons: I am extremely happy with Sessions Health. This EHR has only continued to grow and improve. It's very hard to pinpoint anything specific. I guess it does not generate lab slips or offer prescribing and I wish it did.
