My overall experience has been great. I would recommend this software to others in HVAC and plumbing trades, as I think it really makes a big difference in the bidding world.
Pros: I liked how user friendly it is. Its not complicated at all and was really easy to get use too. It also cut the time it took me to do a take off in half. Being able to do it digitally really helped my time management.
Cons: I can't say there was much I didn't like. I really think fastPIPE makes any estimators life a lot easier.

when moving from another company I requested and was granted this software for my estimating (plumbing, process piping, etc)
Pros: gives me updated pricing, reliable and I trust it's accuracy
Cons: doesn't have all the items in data bases

Cons: The Quick Pick Menu could be better customizable

Estimating refrigeration projects as accurate as possible is necessary to be competitive in the field of refrigeration.
Pros: I like being able to add and remove colors for different assemblies and job items to my liking.
Cons: It is working just fine now as it is with adjustment with as I am estimating projects.

I've been using FastPipe for the last 7 years. I'm an old guy getting close to retirement. I've been in mechanical estimating over 40 years and I wish I was using it sooner instead of the other estimating systems that I had to use.
Pros: It's very user friendly and the software/price catalog updates keep it that way.
Cons: Hmm, I'm sure I have a gripe or two, but nothing comes to mind right now.

Pros: Not having to resort to using the old-fashioned highlighter and drawings method makes it so much more convenient to do our piping takeoffs.
Cons: At times it can be a bit laggy, but typically only happens if a lot of takeoff items are already present.

Pros: transition was not to bad, the training class was worth the time, it saved time for the learning process and we learned a lot of short cuts
Cons: that program won't save pricing from actual bid time. if you need to break out for schedule of values at a later date it requires you to recalculate which changes pricing if there have been any updates.

FastPipe helps us realistically estimate and win work.
Pros: FastPipe is a great estimating program with realistic labor and material costs. It is easy to use. The more you put in, the more you get out of it. FastEst is always available by phone for assistance.
Cons: It is difficult to get true material costs without asking suppliers.

Fantastic
Pros: The easy of learning the program and the flow keeps you on track.
Cons: Sometimes I mark one template and another would pop up.

Overall experience has been great, especially in terms of customer service and help.
Pros: I enjoy the ease of use of the product. It is very straight forward to navigate and complete my take offs.
Cons: Nothing in particular. i am a firm believe there is always room for improvement with any product.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF SOLVED PROBLEMS YOU ARE REFERING TO. THE TAKE OFF PROCEEDURE IS SLOWER THAN MANUEL, FOR ME, BUT THE OVER all IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BID IS SURER AND FASTER
Pros: THE THINGS I LIKE MOST, THE KEEPING UP TO DATE MATERIAL PRICING, THE SUPPORT IS UNBEATABLEWHEN YOU NEED HELP YOU GET IT (PROBLEMS USUALY come at INCONVENIENT TIME) THERE SEEMES TOBE A CONTEMPLATED EFFORT TO KEEP THINGS simple.
Cons: I HAVE EXPRESSED IN THE PAST THAT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THE DIFFRENT TYPS OF MATERIALS (TYP M-L -L -C&C) WERE AVABLE ON THE SAME TAKE OF SCREEN. I SHOULD HAVE SAID HOW I HAVE TO CHANGE TAKE OFF`S screens?

Overall experience is it is one of the easiest software to use.
Pros: This software makes quoting a project very simple.
Cons: I would like the ability to be able to put piping and ductwork into one takeoff.

In the installation of a small milk evaporation plant, this software was of great help to us with its templates, we obtained the basis for the design and installation of the plant.
Pros: Built-in assemblies are a great tool as they provide a general idea that serves as a basis for use in a takeoff for the installation of pipes in different fields of food production plants.
Cons: The existing standard templates are helpful but it would be much better if they augmented their templates for some more specific plumbing installations in the food industry.
Rogger R. · Agroindustrial engineer · Food Production · October 8, 2022
Pros: FastPIPE helps us (as a plumbing contractor) to accurately estimate fixture counts, costs, and labor.
Cons: Could use a makeover to appear more modern or sleek in design... nothing to change about functionality though!

Great
Pros: Ease of use
Cons: Not being able to scroll from drawing to drawing with a toggle button
COLLIN B. · PM · Construction · November 19, 2019
Pros: Easy to use, new users can learn the basics in a couple of days.
Cons: The interface, the looks is a bid outdated
Ali C. · Project Manager · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · November 18, 2019
The man hours are close to accurate using factor 1, but the commercial factor bad. Overall it works but frustrates me as well. My business either thrives or dies using it.
Pros: Accurate way to do take offs, great reports for ordering material and managing labor hours.
Cons: Using the highlighter to do as built drawing and make corrections or provide information to my field staff needs improvement.
Chris W. · GMGR · Construction · November 16, 2019
Pros: Easy to learn, being able to run several reports for the same projects, overlay of revised plans and switching from spec to spec
Cons: Having to hunt down pricing for items that we use day to day, even thou we have input the price, on a new take off it still comes up as price needed

I have used Quick Penn/Auto Bid software for decades before switching to this program. I find this software does almost everything I could ever want to do. Highly adaptable to customization of unique situations and projects.
Pros: Auto Table Pricing Updates, Customizable Bid Book Excel templates, Ease of takeoff. Ease of use doing on scree show and tell when doing project Bid reviews with management.
Cons: Inability to copy areas of takeoff into assemblies via cut and paste Inability to build assemblies using graphical take off method.
Vern W. · Chief Estimator · Construction · November 15, 2019
More efficiency and Accuracy in Taking-off projects, Better coordination with our Field Workers, More accurate Material Orders, We have quit printing full size sets of drawings.
Pros: Absolutely and GREAT tool. This system has streamlined our whole workflow. From the moment we begin estimating the project, to ordering materials, to coordination during the project.
Cons: No Undo Button! There are only a couple of small items that would make it better for our use, but the BIGGEST, Almost singular item is there is not an UNDO button.
John L. · Project Coordinator · Construction · November 14, 2019
I have used software to compile a cost per foot for most types of piping, works great for budgeting projects
Pros: Probably the on screen takeoff, its a real time saver. I brought in my 55" flat screen TV to be able to view entire plan on screen
Cons: Nothing I can think of, I like all features
Michael M. · estimator/ project manager · Construction · November 13, 2019
We us it for estimating & change orders
Pros: How easy it is to load plans, design specifications to meet the desired job, clone & copy items, upload ISO Schematics, and make everyday systems to allow for an easy takeoff. I enjoy this software program.
Cons: When you clone a job in the directory you are only allowed to change the name and not the description.
Nicholas F. · Senior Estimator & Project Manger · Construction · November 13, 2019
Pros: The software is very easy to use and self explanatory. Customer service has been exceptional - every time we call we are able to talk to someone and they are able to help us.
Cons: It takes a little bit to get a job set up - plans moved over, specs set-up, etc.
