I was a user migrated from Eclipse to RStudio, and the change of coding language and environment was rough at the start, but once it gets going, it's amazing how fast you can solve every day problems like it's nothing.
Pros: I think the best thing about RStudio Desktop are the scheduler for Python scripts, personally these have saved hours of tedious work making it a must-use tool for our team.
Cons: Maybe the first time configuration could be a little more intuitive or assisted, once you set up the initial config it's really simple to follow along tutorials or videos to make work.

When developing scripts in R, this IDE is the one that should everyone one choose due to its wide range of functionalities.
Pros: Being able to manipulate large datasets and perform complex calculations with ease has greatly improved efficiency in the company. What I find most beneficial is the ability to create reproducible research and reports using R Markdown
Cons: For new developers in R, UI may have some learning curve in comparison to other IDEs.

Cons: Pour l'utilisation faite, pas de bug repéré, et pas de fonctionnalité manquante observée.
Mat R. · Ingenieur · Renewables & Environment · November 28, 2023
Pros: It is very convenient to use for all kinds of data analysis with the inbuilt libraries.
Cons: Some time there is a problem in viewing data. It does not show all the fields.
Kowsalya N. · Data Manager · Information Technology and Services · July 31, 2023
In my eyes, RStudio really gives R a clear edge over Python since Python has nothing that is as good as RStudio to offer in terms of IDE, not even close.
Pros: Multi faceted display, flexibility, aesthetics, ease of use and performance
Cons: Nothing major, a very minor that I couldn't see a way to add the arrows to the scroll bar for the black background versions (this is an extremely minor thing though!)

Is worth ad it to make more comfortable to create your new codes.
Pros: The interfase is amazing! You can look at the different results from your scripts at the same time. Is intuitive and helps to gain confidence.
Cons: At the beginning the organization of the tabs can be tricky, but once you made it, all goes well.

I have been using RStudio Desktop as a Biomedical Science student as part of my courses Applied Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. It is a powerful tool that provides an IDE for data analysis and visualization with R. RStudio Desktop has a user-friendly and intuitive interface which makes it easy to write and execute code, manage packages and libraries, and visualize data all in one place. In addition, one important aspect is its collaboration features and its ability to share projects, code, and data with classmates via GitHub or RStudio Cloud, which has been helpful during team projects. Additionally, the software comes with an excellent integration with the ggplot2 library that allows the creation of attractive plots in no time, perfect for school reports. Overall, I would highly recommend RStudio Desktop to any science student for data analysis and visualization.
Pros: What I like the most about RStudio Desktop is its intuitive and user-friendly interface, which allows people with non to limited knowledge of data science or coding, to perform statistic analysis with very little issues.
Cons: The software can be quite resource-intensive, which can slow down the computer, especially when working on large projects. I have also encounter some bugs when installing packages.

Excellent tool to start and continue coding in a very user-friendly enviroment.
Pros: I started coding with the terminal alone. Rstudio interfase helps to be more comfortable while creating new codes. Is a great tool to beginners and veterans.
Cons: You can not customize colors and themes on the interfase.

The best IDE for R programmers. Overall great functionality and easy of use.
Pros: Great functionality. Easy to write/edit/modify code. Easy to use and navigate. Great range of options from just writing code to create Reports (RMarkdown) and dashboards (RShiny).
Cons: Integration with Git might be a bit complex. The Plot Panel is quite limited.
Anastasios P. · Data Science Manager · Research · January 4, 2023
Pros: It is very much user-friendly with conducive interfaces.
Cons: It is somehow difficult to a layman to easily interpret results.
Kedir E. · Health Insurance Specialist · Insurance · December 1, 2022
Pros: The version for personal use is free, making it a great starting point if you’re learning how to use R. All help files are at your fingertip. Also, I can print out my source codes together with the output that are already beautifully in the LaTex format.
Cons: The plot window can look a bit funny at first (the plots are still produced, but you may need to adjust the plot window size for bigger plots to display properly). Also, if your output is rather large, RStudio might freeze without warning after a very long compilation period.

I analyze the relation of different behavioral variables in rat sexual behavior
Pros: As a student is very helpful that the software is free and there's a lot of R-community support
Cons: It's hard to work in team as is not an online platform
Tania P. · Student · Medical Devices · November 6, 2022
Valeria M. · Docente · Primary/Secondary Education · October 28, 2022
Pros: I love the features that allow you to write free open source code to create beautiful output in minutes to be placed in projects and make presentations right in the application. R is a very expandable language and there a many packages that are available to use.
Cons: There is a learning curve at first, and do to the amount of information available and packages that can be used, it can be hard to narrow down at first what functions to use when. I wish that RStudio made it easier for people to collaborate with people on their team by allowing web access to make the R files like Google Docs - multiple people can edit the same R file at the same time.
Kimberly S. · Statistician · Information Technology and Services · October 27, 2022
Pros: Attractive development environment, easy to use. Very helpfull for statistics and machine learning. I recommand.
Cons: I think Rstudio is very complete. I dont see anything wrong with
GnimWazou Gaston B. · Student · Research · October 22, 2022
Pros: RStudio makes managing packages for R very simple. Updates are just a few clicks. The various tab options keeps everything under control and accessible.
Cons: A majority of the getting started help files for RStudio are tailored specifically toward server installations and the commercial installations. General guides on how to use the desktop version are hard to find and rely entirely on community support.
Travis B. · Quality Engineer · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · October 11, 2022
Using libraries like ddR or multiDplyr, R can process huge amounts of data in parallel or through distributed computing for our research project.
Pros: R makes it easy to create beautiful graphs and charts. We can do a wide variety of machine learning tasks with R for our research project. R is an open-source programming language that is free to use. Because of this, anyone can work without getting a license or paying a fee. R is cutting-edge software that gets updated as new features become available.
Cons: Other languages for programming, like MATLAB and Python, are much slower than R. R has some limits, such as not being able to be used in a web application. R is not secure enough.
Mowshori K. · Researcher · Education Management · September 18, 2022
overall, rstudio is a great software for r programming. we can easily understand the interface and easily use the software.
Pros: The best software for R Programming. for data analysis, r programming is very important. the R Studio is very easy software. we can execute program line by line very easly. we can also view the real time results and registers through the window also.
Cons: actually, i like the software 100%. the GUI of the software is not great. that's the only thing i like least about this software.
Ajumon R. · Embedded Engineer · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · September 15, 2022
Pros: The software is inexpensive for the features it provides. The ability to work with both R in Python with the RStudio Workbench is helpful when connecting with others that use differing languages.
Cons: RStudio is limited by its language, as it is not particularly useful for web developments as it was built for statisticians. The software is immensely helpful for all other needs.
You G. · Student · Education Management · August 11, 2022
In terms of statistical modeling and analysis, R is one of the most used programming languages.
Pros: Programming in R is available for free and without restrictions. So, there are no requirements for employment, including fees or licenses. R is a state-of-the-art program that gets updates whenever new features are published. R has a renowned set of graphics libraries. These libraries provide assistance and improve the R development environment. The libraries that R provides are numerous and have many different uses. Being able to open the code editor in a separate window is a wonderful feature. With R, creating impressive graphs and charts is simple.
Cons: R is not able to be used in online applications, for example, which is just one of many restrictions it has. R lacks sufficient security. MATLAB and Python are both considerably faster than R as a programming language.
Sreekanta S. · Research Analyst · Education Management · August 4, 2022
R studio is my go-to for writing code and sharing work with others
Pros: The user interface offers some point and click functionality, which makes it easier to ease others into the software who don’t have a coding background. It’s really nice to be able to access the console, graphics viewers, raw data and help files from a single screen!
Cons: Sometimes users can get overwhelmed by the number of available packages, some of which have functions that are masked by earlier downloads
