Assembly helps small and midsize businesses (SMBs) foster employee recognition and collaboration through customizable awards and real-time engagement tools. It’s most used monthly or daily across varied roles, with standout praise for ease of use. While some users cite friction in navigation and limited reward options, recent updates like the Dora Hub and Slack/Teams bot upgrades show ongoing improvements for modern engagement.

Our overall experience with Assembly has been positive. It helped make employee recognition more consistent across teams instead of appreciation happening only during meetings or annual reviews. The platform is simple to use, so adoption was quick even for employees who normally avoid using new tools. The Slack integration made a big difference because team members can send shoutouts and rewards during daily work without switching platforms. We also saw better participation in team engagement activities after implementing it. There are still a few areas that could improve, mainly around reporting and customization, but for day-to-day recognition and team collaboration it has worked reliably for us. Overall, it has been a useful tool for maintaining engagement, especially with remote and hybrid teams.
Pros: Assembly has been easy for our team to adopt because the interface is straightforward and doesn’t require much training. We mainly use it for peer recognition, work anniversaries, and reward points. The Slack integration works well and helps recognition happen in real time during daily conversations. The gift card options are also decent compared to some other platforms we evaluated, and employees actually redeem them regularly. I also like that managers can quickly track participation and engagement without spending too much time manually following up. For a mid-sized team, it gives good value for money since recognition, rewards, and engagement tools are combined in one platform.
Cons: The reporting and analytics section could be more detailed. It works fine for basic tracking, but filtering data for larger teams sometimes feels limited. There is also a small learning curve when setting up custom reward programs or adjusting permissions for different departments. Some vendor and merchant options for rewards are region-specific, so a few employees wanted more local redemption choices.

Excellent for employee recognition. It allows employees to properly encourage and highlight anyone who goes above and beyond.
Pros: We use Assembly for employee recognition. It's been a great way to provide a very tangible way show appreciation for co workers.
Cons: There are some limitations for how that recognition can be used but those limits are set at a company level.

My overall experience with Assembly has been very positive! I use the tool every month to give rewards to my coworkers, and I redeemed the points I received for my first gift card earlier this year.
Pros: I enjoy having the opportunity to shout out my coworkers, especially when they're feeling overwhelmed or underappreciated.
Cons: I don't like that I have limits on the amount of points that I can reward people with. I also would prefer if I could give rewards without needing to make a public post.

There are various gift cards options, and all the communication is visible, so it is an easy way to show achievements.
Pros: It gives visibility to our achievements and helps us show appreciation to our colleagues with cute GIFs as well.
Cons: There is nothing that i don't like about Assembly. It is easy to use and very user friendly. Gives motivation.

I have enjoyed getting messages from Assembly and our company encourage us to thank our peers and I believe this strengthens the connections.
Pros: Assembly is easy to use to recognize those in your organization that go above and beyond. Or, just a simple thank you. We also use for Birthday, work-anniversaries as well.
Cons: I like all the features and there is nothing I can think of that needs to be improved. It easy to play around and see what you need to do.

Assembly is very easy to use and offers a simple interface for recognizing your colleagues in a fast and painless manner. This helps boost employee engagement and morale, ensuring accomplishments are being shared with the wider organization.
Pros: Recognizing your teammates and their contributions is easier than ever with Assembly. This spurs participation across the platform, spotlighting individual and team achievements for the rest of the organization to see.
Cons: I have nothing negative to say about the platform. The user interface is well designed and easy to use. Sharing recognition is frictionless and built in AI features make it even easier to craft sincere and concise messages to recognize peers across the organization.

Assembly has significantly improved the way people show recognition within the company. Now you can attach a small monetary tip to really drive home how someone has helped you. It's nice to apply our internal values to the kudos, add emotes/gifs and messages. I also love being able to react to colleague's recognitions as well. It perks up anyone who receives a notification from Assembly. Especially the fact that redeeming the cards is instantaneous with a great variation on how you can redeem.
Pros: The redemption process is so foolproof and easy to use. Workflows are easy to set up for people to participate in and are awarded at random for participation. It's extremely easy to use for anyone from a seasoned corporate user to someone in the field. Customer Service is easy to work with if you run into flow issues.
Cons: Travel redemption is still lacking. It would be nice to book flights separately without a hotel or car.

Assembly has been very great so far, looking forward in getting the most out of this great site in recognizing colleagues/team members hard work.
Pros: Very easy to use and quick access to reward points/redemptions. Assembly gives you value for many and has variety of gift options.
Cons: So far, I have not encountered anything I dislike about using this product. Ease of use was top-notch
Rexford B. · IT Support Analyst · Computer & Network Security · January 16, 2026
Pros: Great user experience, fosters a positive environment for teams, creates engagement, and overall a nice environment, especially for remote teams that don't have the opportunity to interact much outside of business meetings.
Cons: It'd be useful if it gave you interaction ideas, or maybe message ideas. Make it easier to get started when you're lacking creativity.

I have had a very good experience overall with the platform. I love redeeming my recognition points for bonuses that I can use.
Pros: I like that it allows you to recognize your coworkers. And by accumulating these recognition points, you can claim vouchers to spend on things you like.
Cons: Should have more options for redeeming the points you receive. I think he has few options to redeem them, to have more alliances with more franchises.

Assembly has helped address the sense of disconnection we sometimes feel while working remotely. It allows me to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of my team members, even when I can't do it in person. By sharing their wins on the board/feed, I can still recognize others for their work and join in on making others feel seen.
Pros: What I appreciate most about Assembly is how it fosters a sense of community through both recognition and the board/feed. We use dedicated groups for common interests, which further strengthens that feeling of belonging. Even though our company operates remotely, we still want to feel connected to our team
Cons: I wish that there was an easier way to filter posts. Right now I generally have to scroll to find a post I'm looking for.

I've used a few different perk type apps at big corporations over the last 3 years, and Assembly is the most fun to use to celebrate my colleagues and the easiest to redeem my points in.
Pros: It makes it easy for colleagues of all levels to celebrate each other's work and support! The gift cards are easy to redeem and provide a wide variety of options. Bonus - the user interface is really easy to navigate.
Cons: That as you accumulate points the value of what you can redeem for doesn't change. (e.g. 250 points = $25 points; 500 points =$50, it doesn't ever over a certain amount give you some extra, like 1000 points = $1100 or something)

I enjoyed using Assembly to give and receive recognition of a job well done. It allowed me to show creativity and align the compliments to company values. The platform was user friendly and cashing in for gift cards was easy. I'd recommend Assembly to others.
Pros: Assembly is a great tool for rewarding employees. It is easy and fun to use. The option to cash in for gift cards or to donate to a charity is a nice option.
Cons: As a user, I had trouble locating the Log Out button. I really didn't have any other issues or concerns.
Barbara L. · Consultant · Insurance · November 11, 2025
The overall experience was great. It simplified the whole process of employee recognition. Even the whole redemption process is so simple and efficient and most importantly, secure. You're able to check the history of your redeems, which makes it more secure.
Pros: It's a great solution for employee recognition. It simplifies and gamifies the whole process into a great game of recognition for everyone.
Cons: There's nothing much to dislike. But you can't send recognition without any text, which is something that can be improved.

Assembly helps provide a safe place for employees to connect with one another outside of day to day operations and communication software. It's also simple in terms of "gifting" your peers points to be used for purchasing gift cards.
Pros: It's an easy way to share recognition in a centralized location without it getting mixed into other areas of communication like email, Teams, and/or Slack.
Cons: Because it doesn't integrate into other platforms we use as a company, I very rarely log in and use it.
Marissa W. · Senior Account Executive · Computer Software · November 6, 2025
Assembly has been very easy to use whether making a post, reading/reacting to a post, or cashing in my trophies given for a gift card.
Pros: The easy in which everyone can use it and access the program. It's quick and easy to make a post and/or review posts made.
Cons: I wish there was more advertisement of activity, and not just the weekly activity wrap up email. While I am able to log in within a few seconds to see all activity, it is sometimes nice to receive the reminders.

As an everyday user, Assembly makes it easy to recognize teammates and keep momentum on positive culture. It’s quick to use, the value feels fair, and the interface encourages frequent, authentic shout‑outs. I’d love more global reward options and slightly faster support, but overall it’s been solid.
Pros: Assembly makes peer‑to‑peer kudos effortless and visible, which boosts morale. The UI is clean, so giving points or commenting takes seconds. I also like the gift cards catalog, it’s broad enough that rewards feel meaningful rather than novelty.
Cons: Mobile notifications can be a bit noisy unless you fine‑tune them. Some rewards feel US‑centric, and support replies can be slow during busy times.
Adam C. · Product Manager · Human Resources · October 7, 2025
I like the concept of giving people the opportunity to speak their minds in a positive way, and also receive praise, which is quite delightful these times where these little acts of generosity are scarce. I use it at least weekly to give recognition.
Pros: I like the cleanliness of the execution side of the web UI. It's easy to use and easy to get on-boarded.
Cons: When posts are really large, they get hidden, and sometimes even attached photos aren't seen. I don't like this behavior
Sergio F. · Senior DevOps Engineer · Computer Software · October 3, 2025
Assembly is a great app for recognizing your fellow employees. Whether you are in it for the rewards or just to pat your team member on the back, Assembly will help you do just that.
Pros: I like the different categories of rewards you can exchange for, such as gift cards to many restaurants and services.
Cons: The AI draft assistant often doesn't meet my expectations. The interface is somewhat lackluster as well.
Isaac C. · Critical Operations Technician · Internet · October 2, 2025
Overall, my experience with Assembly has been excellent. Once it’s set up, it really does what it promises — it makes recognition visible, engaging, and meaningful. It’s helped boost morale and create a stronger sense of connection across my team. I’d definitely recommend it to any organization that wants to build a culture of appreciation.
Pros: What I liked most about Assembly is how easy it makes recognition and rewards for my team. The platform is really intuitive, with a clean design that makes giving and receiving “shout-outs” fun. The flexibility to customize recognition programs and the wide variety of reward options are big pluses.
Cons: The only downside is that with so many features, it can take a little time to learn and set everything up the way you want. It’s not difficult, but there’s a bit of a learning curve if you want to take advantage of the more advanced options.
Ryen H. · Client Service Specialist · Computer Software · September 24, 2025
Overall it is a great tool. I like using it to reward my teammates, and it is also motivating when I get rewards from others as well. I love the selection of stores to redeem your points as well - there is something for everyone! Or at least a gift card you can redeem for an even larger selection of items.
Pros: I like the idea of Assembly - you give a shout-out to your colleagues while at the same time giving them tangible rewards.
Cons: There really isn't too much I don't like about Assembly. The only small thing is that there is a cap for the number of points while giving recognition.
Justin U. · Technical Operations Manager · Information Technology and Services · September 17, 2025
Overall experience with Assembly is easy, intuitive, fun and engaging. My team loves the platform and the perks that derive from it. Culture awards allow for non-taxable benefit opportunities that team members love and the other redemption items are hugely relevant to each and every team member. We're a corporation that loves GIFS and this is a touch that is hugely inline with our culture.
Pros: Innovation and continual growth. Without being disruptive or intrusive, there's regular improvements that are launched in the platform that progressively empower the platform to support business employee needs and retention. Additionally, their customer support is unparalleled with prompt and attentive replies with team members ensuring success and that everything is running as expected.
Cons: A feature that we've seen improvement upon is the customization of e-mails and how they're delivered. I'd love to see continued development in this area but, as above, am confident that this will happen as the roadmap is executed against.

Overall, I would highly recommend assembly. Out of all of my years in working in tech it is the one software that has actually driven results to improve employee engagement.
Pros: Lots of companies and softwares claim to help drive employee appreciation and incentives, but Assembly delivers. Not only is Assembly simple to use as far as redeeming rewards and earning then, but the integrations they have also make it seemless to implement into your employees workflow
Cons: My only con would be to have a better way to filter for employees and have those stay. For example, my company is global so US employees see rewards that are only for employees in other countries.
Robert W. · Renewals Manager · Information Technology and Services · September 10, 2025
Overall, Assembly has been a great addition to our team. It’s easy to use, encourages recognition, and helps build a positive culture. The Slack integration, customizable rewards, and helpful support make it a tool we actually enjoy using.
Pros: Assembly makes it super easy to recognize teammates in a fun and meaningful way. We love the Slack integration, and the birthday/work anniversary shoutouts are a nice touch. Setup was quick, and the learning curve was minimal—our whole team picked it up fast. The rewards are flexible and motivating, which really helps keep people engaged. It’s great value, reporting is solid, and support has been awesome whenever we had questions. Overall, it’s made a real difference for our team vibe!
Cons: It’s hard to find anything bad about Assembly. The only thing that comes to mind is that notifications can sometimes get a bit overwhelming—especially if you have a large team. That said, the notification settings are fully customizable.

It has made a big difference in incentives at the workplace. Knowing that you can use them for so many things feels like a treat.
Pros: I get to choose from amazing brands. There are so many choices that it makes it feel even more rewarding to use.
Cons: So far I have not had any issues. The redemption is fast and super easy. I have not had any error messages or usage problems.
