Pros: I like that Volgistics, specifically VicNet, is so user friendly for volunteers that all demographics can and will use it. The number one piece of feedback that I get about volgistics is that VicNet is easy to use.
Cons: It is limited in what it can do but it seems like the Volgistics team is making upgrades in that area and adding more features.

If someone is considering Volgistics, I would recommend it to manage volunteers. Once you customize it to your needs, it works great. I know there is a lot more Volgistics can do that we haven't even tapped into.
Pros: We use Volgistics to manage our yearly 2000 volunteers at 10 locations. We merged our databases together and use the site feature. This makes multi-site volunteers and volunteer transfers a breeze. We have customized our database to meet our needs. The customer service team is incredible. I recently inquired about an error and got a response that it would take longer to investigate and fix. Eleven minutes later the issue was resolved. The team is incredibly responsive. When I request things that don't exist, they add me to a list and follow up when the change has been implemented, even if it is a year later.
Cons: There are two main drawbacks to Volgistics. The first is the lack of daily automatic reports. We reconcile our hours daily and to do so have to manually print a report. It would save us a lot of time if we could have an automatic report run for yesterday every day. Second, sometimes Volgistics will group shifts together, even when they are not entered together. When we need to change a single shift, it is difficult because all the shifts need to be ended and recreated so a single shift can change.

Great database to house everything needed for a volunteer.
Pros: Thank you for a great product. I've been using Volgistics to help with my volunteers since I believe 2010 (two different facilities) and it is incredibly helpful and user friendly. Grateful to have a system that works for our needs to ensure we account for volunteer time, recognize special days, and keep up with their required documents and such. Thank you.
Cons: The application build is a bit cumbersome if you are not familiar with the formatting and building, but I appreciate the opportunity to customize to what we need for our volunteer applicants.

Pros: Relatively easy to navigate and the month-to-month option allowed us to upgrade from spreadsheets and antiquated software (VolWare) without fear of making a long-term commitment to software that might not work for us.
Cons: Unfortunately, we outgrew Volgistics due to the lack of ability to manage multiple jobs in multiple locations. We wound up having to utilize a lot of workarounds and in some cases couldn't find one. I was personally frustrated that -- while I could request help for certain things through an automated system -- I was never able to speak to an actual person. I wound up spending a lot of extra time trying to describe my issue/problem in writing when a short phone call would have sped things along immenselyl.

My experience with Volgistics has been exceptionally good in every aspect.
Pros: Scheduling, record keeping, reporting and communication - all of this is made possible. Help is ALWAYS helpful and extremely prompt.
Cons: No negatives to report - I've always had the best possible experience.

It is a dependable and flexible system that allows us to easily track volunteer details, generate reports, and notify volunteers about activities. The downside is the expense to add more than 2 users (operators).
Pros: It is a complicated system but having used in now in three different non-profits I have volunteered for, it seemed the likely choice. It has a lot of bells and whistles but you don't have to use them. The customizable fields really make this a nice system to work worth and make it your own.
Cons: The price, it is a bit on the pricey side but again is a great product.

Volgistics provides *immediate* help through a help email system. Let me tell you, they don't use "bot" answers. You get help on YOUR specific question in a matter of minutes. I really can't believe any company offers that level of customer service anymore.
Pros: Our company loves everything about Volgistics. They have really thought of everything in developing this product.
Cons: It's not Volgistics fault, but I know we are only using a fraction of its capabilities. It does so much!

Pros: Software has simple customization functionality, with a wide range of customizable settings. This enables organizations to tailor the software to their specific needs. Excellent Helpdesk, clear and timey responses. We offered to be involved in testing upgrade functionality, and our feedback was well-received and our suggestions implemented where it made sense for the Volgistics product. As the systems administrator, I've never had a complaint about Volgistics from any of our 200+ active ongoing users. This fact alone should sell the product. It's a great choice.
Cons: No cons from the users and administrator here at the Delaware Botanic gardens!

I have really enjoyed utilizing this program. If I don't know something or I'm in doubt I send an e-mail to the IT support department, and they are awesome. They respond to me within a few minutes, and they are very specific and detailed on their answers. I love the fact that at times I really don't know how to express myself correctly on the questions I have, and they respond with ideas or situations of what I might be wanting to ask. This in return allows me to not feel frustrated but very appreciative about the fact that I know the people behind the scenes are always there to support me, plus they are able to help me, once they know what I'm trying to say. It is just great to know that you have such an amazing team to support you always. Now that I know that there is so much more to learn about this product, I will be asking more questions, Ha! Ha!Thank you
Pros: I like the fact that I can always go back and see not only the present volunteers but the archived ones as well. This feature allows me to go back and find out information about the previous volunteers i.e. how many hours they donated, when they started and when they left, which departments they helped and now that I used the notes, it allows me to see why they were absent and why they decided to leave the program. Lots of great information needed, especially when they request me a letter of reference.
Cons: I think that there is so much opportunity to best utilized this program and yet at times we don't even know about it. I think that this program should come with a manual of all the features available.

I realized before having volgistics I was doing far too much work. Volgistics does it for me.
Pros: This is the easiest to use software i've ever had. The support is top notch. I email with 3-6 questions per week and they always get back to me immediately and with step-by-step instructions. Always so nice and helpful. Worth every penny.
Cons: I have nothing- everything is amazing. I can't think of anything I like least.

Pros: It was much less cost than the other options available.
Cons: Customer service was terrible, there was no phone number and it took days to get an email reply.

My overall experience with Volgistics has been positive. I have not run into many issues with the software that could not be remedied. Any issues that I have needed help with, your incredible support staff have been able to assist every single time. I cannot say enough what a professional, kind, helpful team you have working there. I love that it is an actual person writing back to you and that they break down their answers so that everything is easy to understand. They also have always gotten back to me within a few minutes of every question submission I have had, which is incredibly convenient. Your company should be very proud to have such an awesome staff. Please thank them all again from me, I really appreciate just the genuine kindness they have shown me.
Pros: The Volgistics software is easy to navigate and makes scheduling for my volunteer ushers at our Theatre very easy.
Cons: One of my volunteers mentioned that they would appreciate being able to see WHO is signed up for our events, so that they will know who they are working with.

My overall experience is very good. I appreciate the versatility in customizing data gathered and the reportability of the data. The Support Team is outstanding. They respond quickly to my support requests, often within minutes, (by email, we do not have the phone support level) and they always make sure I understand how to accomplish what I need to do. Even if what I ask for can't be done, they help me with workarounds and add my request to the future development list. I appreciate the video tutorials in Volgistics in addition to the wealth of written tutorials. It has been the number one recommended software by volunteer managers in the various roundtables I've attended over the years. It was already in place when I was hired and Volgistics is the only volunteer management software I have used so I cannot compare it to others. A staff person acquainted with our donor software who was also managing volunteers for her department thought Volgistics very intuitive and easy to use.
Pros: #1 Appreciate creating an online application within this software and that it automatically attaches to the applicant's profile when submitted. #2 Ease of customizable reporting, and automated reports sent directly to my inbox. #3 Self scheduling for volunteers, team leads are very grateful for this feature.
Cons: #1 Limited space in the application form. #2 We have one application that serves multiple sites, it would be great to send alerts to the appropriate staff person by the site chosen.

Pros: Schedules are easy to see and set up. Tagging has been extremely helpful in organization.
Cons: I wish there was a back button. It would really help for when I'm assigning volunteers to specific assignments.

Very happy with the product and support.
Pros: In using the old PC based Volunteer Works and then Volgistics for 20+ years I have found that Volgistics support is outstanding. Fast response to questions and they listen to suggestions for improvements and features and respond when implemented.
Cons: I can't think of any issues that have not been resolved and currently we have not asked for any new functions.

Pros: I use Volgistics almost every day, its one of the best volunteer management system by far, I used to use other management systems which I found no joy, however this is a easy to use tool in getting voltmeters self scheduling this saves time and effort, you can also customer your program to the stuff you use instead of paying for unused service which I personally think its quiet great, a big thumbs up from me.
Cons: the mobile site part is very slow which needs some work i assume because of the size and the loading on our mobile maybe that could the reason.

It has been wonderful. They are so responsive to questions and sharing upgrades. I am a part of a Volunteer Coordinators group in my county, and almost all of our organizations use Volgistics. Our county government even got it for their volunteer corps because of the positive experiences the rest of us have had. I wouldn't want to use any other volunteer software!!!!!
Pros: It is intuitive and user-friendly. I was able to navigate and explore when I started this job, and have found so many uses that have streamlined my job and provided other staff with helpful information/features that they can use as well. When I am asked for volunteer data for grants and other projects, I am able to quickly provide it, which I know is appreciated by our Garden team.
Cons: Switching volunteers from active to inactive in assignments has sometimes been problematic because it seems we lose the data for future reports. It may be that I'm going about it the wrong way; it's something I'm working on.

Pros: The feature I enjoyed the most was the ability to print mailing labels. The current system we use does not have that capability, which makes sending out invitations to our large volunteer pool much more difficult.
Cons: I felt like when I was using Volgistics that the software was outdated and not user-friendly in most areas. The overall visual look of the software looked outdated as well. I felt like software was not intuitive and there were ways to accomplish things that I didn't even know how to do because I couldn't figure it out and there was not a support team to e-mail, like we have with the current company we use. Overall, Volgistics needs an update and better customer service support.

Prior to Volgistics all our staff and assignment scheduling was done in excel. We have more than doubled our assignments and volunteers this past year. I can't imagine how I managed to do all of this prior to Volgistics. It's been a real benefit to my time management.
Pros: User friendly platform with lots of goodies, but by far my favorite is the nearly instantaneous response of the support staff with good solid answers and directions
Cons: Would like to be able to sort all the columns in multiple ways

Pros: The product was intuitive and had many features
Cons: It could be difficult to find/create the report for the information that you needed. I did not like that the year drop down box give every year between 2010-2050 . . . I requested that it be limited to our current year and prior, but they could not change that.

We first used Volgistics when we were setting up a community outreach program and didn't have enough resources to engage field agents full time. Volgistics came highly recommended by an intern who was helping roll out the project and we gave it a try. The volunteer database we generated from the application process on that first project is what we have kept recycling for the past 4 years. Volgistics is absolutely awesome and reduces the workload of team leaders so much that our outreach programs always seem like a picnic.
Pros: The integrated data and information management processes are very intuitive and require very little manual control and guidance. Everything automatically moves where they might be required to successfully manage a task. Component features like the self service portal, volunteer kiosk and VicTouch work extremely well together to reduce the burden on project managers as much as possible. The trial event runs are also quite fun to simulate and does so much for team morale.
Cons: The long list of features can be a bit difficult to learn and incorporate into daily use. A lot more online resources and tutorial materials could be created to make the learning curve less tasking.

Pros: I like that you can log in on-line and access your volunteer data from any computer. It's very user friendly.
Cons: I've had Volgistics since my previous workplace had to switch over from Volunteer Works when it became obsolete. I've worked with Volgistics for 15 years at two different organizations, but I am not a fan of the email-based customer support. I would much rather be able to speak with a live representative over the phone to accomplish what I need.
