Carousel is a cloud-based digital signage software that helps organizations manage announcements, alerts, and visual messaging across distributed screens through a unified control interface. It enables teams to publish content to digital displays in offices, campuses, healthcare facilities, and public spaces. Users can create digital signage content with built-in templates or upload presentations, images, and documents. Content can be scheduled in advance, targeted to specific screens or groups, and updated instantly. Dynamic data feeds and live content integrations help keep signage current. Carousel is designed to work with many common media players and display environments. Role-based permissions help teams manage who can create, edit, and publish content, keeping employees, students, visitors, and guests informed with timely, engaging on-screen communication.

Understanding the configuration and system terminology took time to fully utilize the system's potential. However, tutorials, workshops, and support were essential for user adoption throughout the organization. Dashboard management is simple as long as the channels are properly tagged. I found Carousel's support invaluable in setting up and implementing the Digital Signage system across more than 30 facilities throughout the USA.
Pros: Excellent customer support. Remote management of multiple channels and locations. Dependable and reliable system, with minor issues since implementation circa 2018. Best bang for the buck.
Cons: The initial setup was challenging and difficult to implement without Carousel support. The bulletin layout tool is cumbersome, slow, and time-consuming, resulting in below-average outcomes. It is much easier to create content on other platforms and convert it to raster format for upload.
Helen M. · Manager of Marketing Services · Packaging and Containers · May 12, 2026
Pros: Ease of use for device and content management. User-friendly interface makes training users less daunting. Customer support is very responsive and willing to work with other vendors when issues arise.
Cons: Certain more dynamic features seem not ready for prime time, such as interactive bulletins. Ability to preview dynamic content within Carousel could be stronger.

So far, it has been great. If we have questions, support quickly answers them. The beginning process was great, just learning about the system and having a free trial. They even recommended a local shop for us to borrow BrightSign devices for the trial.
Pros: Carousel is very easy to use. I love that I am able to upload content remotely at any time and then schedule the content. One less thing I have to worry about
Cons: There isn't much, but maybe the compatibility, and having to purchase a BrightSign Device, which is expensive for us.
Rachel E. · Manager of Marketing and Communications · Non-Profit Organization Management · December 11, 2025
A high quality, extremely useful product with tons of features. Definitely willing to recommend to anyone looking for a signage product, especially when trying to improve company morale and cohesion.
Pros: Extremely easy to run once you get it going, swapping slides in and out works smoothly, setup on our Apple TVs was great and continues to work well. We use it for everything from announcements about important topics like health insurance enrollment to fun things like birthdays, and it handles both ends and looks great.
Cons: Some early initial issues related to slides not appearing or disappearing when scheduled, but was able to resolve after coordinating with Carousel's support team. Layout of admin portal could also be confusing.

My overall experience has been great. I use it almost daily to upload content to our employees. It's easy, quick, and efficient to create, adjust, use, and keep our people informed.
Pros: It is easy to create and upload content, it has decent options for management of content, and user-friendly.
Cons: I would like to have a few more design options and/or settings to edit and create a variety of slides, maybe more font options, graphic/icon visuals etc. Would also like to

I enjoyed it for the time we used it. Until I used another company then I realized what I was missing. Which was the ease of use.
Pros: I like how you can see multiple screens you are using. I like how you can edit the posts as well and the sizing feature.
Cons: The platform seemed a little clunky. It was not user friendly compared to other sites which makes non tech savvy people not want to use it,
Jared H. · Computer Technician · Education Management · August 21, 2025
Wonderful! Having spoken with many other users on the platform they all have similar feelings. It works, it works well and it is very intuitive for the end users. We have about 200 displays with about 50 users in the platform and there have been no complaints.
Pros: After reviewing about 7 content management systems for digital signage a few years ago, Carousel stood out on many levels. Ease of use: It's easy to drive after a short introduction. Enterprise needs: Role management, security, SSO, CAP emergency message integration, and more. Customer service and responsiveness: Carousel has an excellent and very responsive customer success team and their engineering group responds to service issues (there are few) feature requests in good fashion. The product is priced right for the market.
Cons: Least is a difficult term. Carousel is not the "flashiest" product on the market. They began to add a number of new integrations in 2024 and have expanded their player options greatly after a period of time adjusting their service level options for client. Carousel is a measured company when it comes to their changes. We are looking forward to what they have in store in the future!

Excellent. Support is always very helpful, the online sessions have been great and bringing new team members up to speed is very easy.
Pros: Compatibility with AppleTV and the ability to manage via JAMF. Content and user management via Tags.
Cons: Media content per Zone can be a little frustrating. Being able to access a global Media resource would be helpful and avoid a significant amount of duplication.
Richard L. · Head of ICT and Technical Operations · Hospitality · July 2, 2025
it has been very good; I have used Carousel for many years. Feature set seems to improve over time and stay modern.
Pros: it's easy to use and when I set customers up with the application they find it easy, as well. This is important.
Cons: it's $200 per license so it is difficult at times to successfully convince new users to engage in digital signage.
Marshall W. · Director · Higher Education · June 10, 2025
Overall pretty good. The support, while hard to reach, has been pretty supportive when I'm able to finally reach them. So thank you for that. I would just say ease of accessibility to support can be improved.
Pros: Carousel is a highly versatile and customizable. I'm able to deploy screens that manage Hawaii, Southern California and Northern California screens with ease.
Cons: I would like better improvement on how technical changes might impact our screens. There have been minute changes in how Google sheets are displayed, and I ran into significant issues with that monitor.

I would give my experience a 10/10. My office enjoys being able to use carousel, it makes my life easier as an administrator, and it is user friendly so everyone can access this tool!
Pros: Carousel is user friendly, my entire office uses carousel as a tool for digital signage!
Cons: I have no complaints about carousel. It has been such a gift for my office to use.
Isaac A. · CEO · Marketing and Advertising · May 17, 2025
From our previous no-solution setup, Carousel has been a fantastic product to work with and use. The feedback from our users has been positive.
Pros: Great media type support and ease of use. The minimalist setup with an Apple TV is fantastic. The user interface is easy to use, and the finished product looks great!
Cons: Can't use a username and password to access content that is not public. Keeps us from being able to point to certain content on an intranet, for example.
Harry T. · Senior Media Support Specialist · Government Administration · May 6, 2025
Pros: Easy to work with and no major delays getting my needs met.
Cons: It can be expensive but you pay for what you get.
Sam S. · Product Manager · Telecommunications · April 7, 2025
After months of trying to get the product to work for us, in the end we cancelled the subscription as there were too many issues.
Pros: The system had a quick response time, it was easy to account for overscan, and it notified when a player was down.
Cons: It was difficult for teachers to use with the various zoning options, and it wouldn't properly power on the BrightSign players.
Pete E. · Head of IT Services · Education Management · March 11, 2025
Very pleased. Makes my life easier and allows for a new form of education.
Pros: Easy to communicate and Engage with students
Cons: I have experienced issues where the speed is too quick for me
Abbie M. · Educator · Education Management · February 18, 2025
Im pleased with carousel, its got a lot to look at
Pros: I like the ease of use, its easy to understand and has so much good value items
Cons: Its not as good as some apps in its category
Wanita G. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 6, 2025
Tech support is very quick and helpful when issues arise.
Pros: I like that I can do it remotely and that I can have more then one person work on this platform.
Cons: More options for scheduling, not being able to make presets for certain types of bulletins, like the default for background for uploaded images.
Jackie G. · Technology Teacher and Coordinator · Primary/Secondary Education · November 17, 2024
It's been easy to set up and run across campus. I started with a 10 license pilot 2 years ago, and it's caught on to the point where we now have 22 licenses and growing.
Pros: The web interface allows me to work on the signage from any location. The ability to add start and end dates/times is very helpful - I can set up a bulletin to start and stop when I want and then forget about it. The ability to have calendar feeds based on web sites is also very helpful. Finally, using Apple TVs and JAMF device management software allows me to quickly get a sign up and running, and locks the Apple TV into just the Carousel app so no one can change what's being shown.
Cons: Inability to show YouTube videos when using and Apple TV for signage, but that's a limitation put in by Apple itself, not Carousel.
James Y. · AV Manager · Higher Education · November 4, 2024
My overall journey for the past 3 years using Carousel was nothing more than fantastic, I appreciate the support team especially [sensitive content hidden], they are very proactive and supportive and I wish them continue doing the same.
Pros: We use Carousel as our Digital signage partner in our enterprise, its very simple to use and our users find it very easily get adapted to the carousel environment in terms of usage
Cons: Not much to say about what I like the least, but i like Carousel to get more and more cool features and incorporate some modern templates in terms of content creation.
Dhivaker S. · System Administrator · Retail · November 4, 2024
This was a great experience. We had never had digital signage for our internal users and now it is a seamless part of our office life!
Pros: Gorgeous displays and can use multiple platforms to create designs as well
Cons: A little difficult to get the physical components activated, but lots of help and now running smoothly with little intervention.
Sandy H. · Office Services Lead · Financial Services · November 4, 2024
I have been a Carousel (Tightrope) Customer through 3 different shops, over the span of almost 15 years. Thier products have always done what I need them to-do, have been easy to understand and implement, and I have had to spend very little time on Maintenace and upkeep. I wish all of my systems were as worry free as Carousel has been.
Pros: Its simple to implement and to use, but also has the options for a more robust system should you need more custom configurations. It's very to learn.
Cons: There is not much not to like. It's simple, has a bunch of integrations, and is easy to use.
Jeff W. · AV Specialist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · October 16, 2024
Our experience with Carousel Digital Signage has been excellent. The platform is user-friendly, with centralized management and seamless integration with BrightSigns. Setting up and managing content is straightforward, and the ability to grant granular access to team members is highly effective. It’s a reliable tool that offers great value.
Pros: Carousel Digital Signage is a fantastic product with great value for the pricing. It offers an intuitive interface that makes centralized management of multiple signs a breeze. The ability to provide granular access to specific team members responsible for posting content is a standout feature, allowing for smooth collaboration and content control. Getting BrightSigns provisioned and up and running is incredibly easy, saving time and reducing any potential headaches. Overall, the system is reliable and user-friendly, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to manage digital signage effectively.
Cons: My understanding is that you need to purchase additional player licenses in bundles of 5 or 10, which can be limiting if you only need a few more signs. Having the option to add signs on an individual per-sign basis would offer more flexibility and make the product even better.
Ron H. · Consultant · Education Management · October 16, 2024
It does exactly what I was looking for! I needed an easy way to share and update announcements from a central location across my campus. Carousel lets me do that easily and effectively.
Pros: It is very quick and easy to create bulletins and schedule them with minimum time. However, if you want to really spend time creating content, that is possible too.
Cons: I didn't like the look of my channel so when I was helping a colleague set up a new channel and I discovered the default layouts available, I started using them, but updating my templates has been time consuming. It's probably user error on my end but that kind of set-up has been challenging.
Katie R. · School Librarian · Education Management · September 4, 2024
Fantastic especially for the price we pay for the. Inner of screens we have. Carousel makes it very cost effective to have digital signage that is easily scalable.
Pros: For the functionality and flexibility of devices it runs on, Carousel is a win win four our institution. Once it's setup it is easy to add additional devices and display different content on different screens.
Cons: The learning curve for how to use the software. It could be more intuitive for sure.
Terence S. · VP of IT · Education Management · August 13, 2024
Overall, a fantastic product and great support. The product offers a myriad of opportunities to customize, schedule, and use for the end user. I have over 100 displays currently running and I rarely check to see if the Carousel is running since I know I can trust it to do its work.
Pros: The ease of use and pre-built templates made setting up the over 100 displays around our operation so much easier. The end-users took to learning it very well even if they weren't normally tech savvy users.
Cons: I wish that the design phase offered a drag and drop capability. The current system works well but it would be a bit quicker and easier this way.
