Made my time tracking much more efficient.
Pros: Simple and effective time tracking and billing
Cons: The only negative is that it requires integration with Quickbooks. I hope they soon partner with a lower priced and more flexible alternative.

My Firm moved from a one size fits all solution about 6 months ago to using the Microsoft suite tools and LeanLaw integrated with Gravity Legal and Quick Books. This has been the best move we could have made. The integration between these three has been nothing but wonderful. I recently had a question about how to change a trust account request, and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] answered my question quickly and professionally. These guys know what business owners need and keep delivering. I can't say enough about them. There were growing pains in the beginning but every time I needed assistance the team at LeanLaw was there to help. If you are on the fence about moving from a competitor to LeanLaw STOP waiting and get moving. You will be glad you did!
Pros: Overall ease of use. The software is laid out in a simple to use format and allows the user a TON of functionality. Some users mentioned not being able to customize their invoice's I'm not sure what they were looking at because we have had no issue customizing not only our invoices but the emails and many other aspects of our communication with our clients. This makes our small firm look like huge firms with a big IT department.. We Love it!!!

Cons: We have been using this software for 6months and have had no issues with the software.. I wish I could give something for this but really is this is a ton better than the old software and it meets all of our needs.
Nick V. · Office Manager/book keeper · Law Practice · August 10, 2021
We previously had more expensive softwares and were using so few of the features because of the size of our firm.
Pros: I like the synchronization with Quickbooks. I also like that it is easy to apply different tax rates for different jurisdictions while time track and billing.
Cons: There is no ability to schedule appointments within the software. This is a feature I am very hopeful they will develop given that they already have a calendar view within Leanlaw.

Had an employee resign and was given a quick tutorial to get us through the week.
Pros: Movement of invoices into another software for sending to clients & expense tracking. We still utilize Quickbooks.
Cons: I do not care for the double screens after login. Two tabs are opened which bothers my OCD and I immediately close the one non-essential window.
MARIA M. · Office Manager / Lead Paralegal · Law Practice · March 3, 2021
My overall experience has been great. It has significantly reduced the time it takes to run billing each month and the timekeeping feature is very easy to use. I'm told the customer service is excellent.
Pros: The user-friendly nature of the product and the smooth integration with QuickBooks.
Cons: I don't know that we got the full customer service experience with onboarding. There were issues with our first billing cycle using LeanLaw that could have been avoided with better assistance.

So far I have no clients utilizing LeanLaw, though I enjoy playing around with it and working through some ideas.
Pros: I like the intuitive interfaces and clear direction. Some lawyers are not particularly in tune with technology, so these simple interfaces and directions help keep frustrations low.
Cons: The reporting interface is quite smashed together and leaves much to be desired. The interface limits itself across the tabs rather than allowing differences between the tabs more.

I discovered this product after failing to master the mystery of trust accounting in Quickbooks. This was created specifically for attorneys and made the trust accounting work out properly.
Pros: It made handling client trust accounting simple
Cons: It did not import client contact info from my case management system
Pamela P. · Attorney · Legal Services · November 24, 2020
Pros: It's easy to learn and use. The web-based interface is clean and simple and easy to read and use. It handles both time entry, billing, and trust accounting, which is essential because Quickbooks either doesn't do those things, or does them so poorly that it's impossible to figure out. However, Leanlaw's Quickbooks integration is excellent and reliable. I learned how to use Quickbooks and Leanlaw at the same time, and have found it easier than I expected. Quickbooks is a much more complex system, but Leanlaw does a good job of keeping Leanlaw separate but perfectly integrated. I've been impressed with it.
Cons: More of a bug than a dislike, but if you let it sit open in your browser for a while, it will let you type in a time entry or expense entry, and only after you hit "Enter" will it tell you that you need to login again and you've lost your entry.

Pros: Very simple to use. Simple layout that doesn’t have clutter. It’s very intuitive and easy.
Cons: It doesn’t provide other legal work related services such as case management.
Cathy L. · Attorney · Law Practice · November 24, 2020
I have really enjoyed this product. I really don't have too many complaints about this product.
Pros: I enjoy the ease of use and the integration with Quickbooks. LeanLaw takes the stress out of accounting for lawyers. The customer service is always excellent.
Cons: It's not very intuitive and there isn't a place to store client documents within the software.
Mitchell K. · Owner · Law Practice · November 24, 2020
Understanding who is producing, where they are producing, and who is responsible for clients all come together with QuickBooks and the bottom line.
Pros: It works great with QuickBooks and it tells us how we are doing for out monthly billing.
Cons: I am not a fan of the app on my phone. it needs to be easier to enter time. There seems to be a limit on the amount of text.
Albert G. · Partner · Law Practice · November 21, 2020
The customer service and support is amazing.
Pros: The timekeeping features give attorneys everything they need to manage tracking billable hours. That it is integrated with Quickbooks is an amazing feature.
Cons: The cost of LeanLaw is a bit higher than some of the practice management software I considered previously. But it's worth it.
Deborah W. · Managing Partner · Law Practice · November 21, 2020
I liked how [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], one of the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], ensured that my accountant and I received an excellent training and his availability.
Pros: I really like the ease of the program and I love how it integrates with Quickbooks.
Cons: Really, there is nothing that I dislike about it. I think it is almost perfect for what I need. Since, Quickbooks does not have a good built in time tracker program, this program fills in what is missing beautifully.
Margaret H. · Attorney · Legal Services · November 20, 2020
Very positive. They helped me very quickly and confidently launch my solo law practice in 2017. When I relaunched the practice in 2020, all of my information was restored automatically. It was very easy and a great relief.
Pros: The product is easy to set up and easy to use. The integration with Quickbooks is great - it made it possible for me to confidently use Quickbooks, which I had never used before. The team is very responsive to customer service questions and any questions/issues are very quickly addressed. They are great communicators.
Cons: I don't have any criticisms but my law practice is not very complex.
Kevin L. · Founder · Law Practice · November 20, 2020
I have had a very slow start with the company. I brought a great client to the table and felt let down when things fell through the cracks on landing them. When I have more leads, I will definitely bring them to LeanLaw. I believe in their product.
Pros: It's tailored specifically to Law Firms. It plays well with QuickBooks Online. It appears easy to understand and learn.
Cons: So far, I really like everything about this software!
Steven L. · Professional Legal Bookkeeper · Accounting · November 20, 2020
I have had no luck with customer service being on point or helpful. I would only suggest this to a company that likes QB and doesn't want integration with other programs.
Pros: Ease of navigation. it has some features that are helpful and would be beneficial to someone who likes QB.
Cons: It doesn't work well with quickbooks there are features that require work arounds to do this. As a result we are working through switching. We would keep the software maybe but the inability to work with other accounting software makes it impossible.
Heather K. · partner · Law Practice · November 20, 2020
Great product and customer service.
Pros: LeanLaw is easy to navigate, integrates really well with Quickbooks and their customer service reps are very responsive.
Cons: Nothing, they are always improving things, we did not realize was missing.
Vernalisa J. · Firm Administrator · Legal Services · November 20, 2020
Great experience with Leanlaw--both the product and customer service.
Pros: Ease of Quickbooks syncing for billing and ease of use for adding time entries.
Cons: When I click on matters, it instantly only shows me the cases that I am linked to but I would prefer to just see all of the firm's cases instead.
Melissa L. · Office Manager · Legal Services · November 20, 2020
Pros: Integration was quite easy. Using LeanLaw has significantly cut down the hours spent invoicing clients. It's a user-friendly interface, the customer service is excellent, and the software is cost-effective. I recommend it highly for small law firms.
Cons: So far, so good. I have no cons to report.
Judy G. · Firm Administrator · Law Practice · November 19, 2020
Pros: The software does everything I need and meshes well with Quickbooks. Most of all, the customer service is really great!
Cons: Maybe an icon on my desktop would be nice. But honestly, you might already be able to do this but I haven't taken the time to figure that out.
Anonymous User · Managing Partner · Law Practice · November 18, 2020
Been a great experience. Thank you.
Pros: How it integrates with Quickbooks online and allows me to more easily deposit into trust and make payments from trust on invoices.
Cons: If I forget to switch back from use undeposited funds account it will unevenly pay from trust and the liability account without warning.
Jessica P. · Billing Manager · Law Practice · November 18, 2020
Pros: I love how it interfaces with Quickbooks. I like how simple it is to enter different types of fees and expenses.
Cons: I have been using LeanLaw for a year, and I have no complaints with this software so far.
Laura P. · Administrative Assistant · Law Practice · November 17, 2020
It has been great thus far.
Pros: Easy to create new client accounts, review invoices and track daily billing.
Cons: It does not allow for case management, but in terms of integration it integrates perfectly with quick books.
Mohammad K. · Attorney · Law Practice · November 17, 2020
Pros: Super user friendly. Great customer service
Cons: No cons that I can think of at the moment
Shantel O. · Owner · Accounting · November 17, 2020
My experience has been very very good overall. I have only needed customer service once or twice over the past year or so I have used the product and both times, LeanLaw was extremely responsive and helpful.
Pros: I chose LeanLaw because it works with my Mac based systems, integrates very easily with Quickbooks, and has a very easy to use interface for my desktop which I use all day every day.
Cons: I would like a little more ability to customize some things.
