Honestly? It feels like betrayal. Would you believe I just received a response to Gingr's online "chat"? What if I told you I submitted that question back in December 2025? Today is April 30, 2026.
Pros: The operative word, what DID you like about Gingr? We hired Gingr four years ago because we thought they understood the boarding business.

Pros: I cannot wait to switch from Gingr to Goose or MoeGo later this year. Everything has gotten worse from five years ago to today. Nothing has improved. It only gets worse over time
Cons: It has gotten much worse. They won't let you use your own merchant services firm and their response times have gone from 20 minutes to three days

Pros: We love how customizable the grooming calendars/appointment set up is. We have multiple groomers and they all take their dogs at different times, some in blocks, some not. This was the only software I could find at the time we were looking that would accommodate our complex scheduling choices.
Cons: The customer service has degraded to the point that the software cannot be recommended. We cannot get a person to help with even urgent matters and support tickets seem to be going unanswered. Currently our system SMS messages are not consistently being sent and there is no way to know which ones actually went to the customer. The Communications portion of owner records show the message as having gone but nothing is shown as sent in History, even if it was sent. It is a total mess that has undermined our customers' trust in us.

BEWARE!!! If I could give negative star rating, I would. Gingr and it's venture capital [sensitive content hidden] blatantly ignore their clients. The only reason my business is with them now, is because they buy other software companies and force you to switch. I have spent decades in the IT and computer software industry before changing to the pet industry. I strongly recommend you do your best to avoid Gingr! Do some homework and research. Search the user groups. They have a private group on Facebook. There group members have the same complaints about this software.
Pros: They are good with billing businesses for their service. Software has many service features...some even work.
Cons: This software is owned by a venture capital firm. They [vc firm] don't care about the software or service and are very arrogant. They just buyout other better softwares and make them disappear. Revelation Pets is their UK counterpart, owned by the same firm. It's fairly well known that the support staff ignore calls and other communication. Impossible to speak with support and/or sales! Most of the available features don't work properly. Very complicated system to setup and maintain. The software is full of software bugs. They don't ever tend to fixing the software!!! Our customers find the portal and phone app very difficult and confusing - they HATE IT!! We have lost business as a result of this garbage software.

Pros: It has a lot of features, and if they all worked consistently the potential is huge. It is good at the basics, but there are several ongoing issues that they refuse to acknowledge as problems. You will see from some reviews, that they used to be quite good. However, I would urge anyone reading this to filter by 'most recent', to get a more accurate reflection of where they are currently at.
Cons: Customer Support is virutally non existent. They refuse to acknowledge the needs of customers outside of the US.

They’ve recently made changes that they claim are related to Stripe, yet they completely control the processor and all changes are internal. They’ve changed their batching timing with no notification to customers and after 2 weeks of your guess is as good as mine in terms of when our money will hit our account, they still have no answers, blame Stripe, have a mysterious merchant services department who evidently no one is allowed to speak to, even internally customer service. As a small business, I have no idea when I’ll get paid again and that is an impossible way to operate. I was warned too late bc we had already made the switch that when they were acquired by a PE firm, all went downhill. Wish I’d known before I made the switch.
Pros: Can’t think of any at the moment. We used Gingr years ago for 2 locations and thought it would be a good idea to go back after trying MyTime for 4 years and found it very expensive. Big mistake.
Cons: So many bugs with booking, messaging and most importantly, payment processing. Marketing is unusable. Messages are impossible to send, pictures never go through.

Overall great and easy to use. Communication aspects need to be improved but overall great software.
Pros: Booking and managing appointments was simple and straight forward. Easy to find client information and manage it.
Cons: No clear way to communicate with owners about their pet clients. Cannot text message clients. Communication is important.

We hate this program. We have used it for over 6 years and if we could switch without large business interruptions we would leave this program far behind us. Colleagues have cancelled their subscription and moved to Gingr competitors and have been much happier. We plan on switching within the next 12 months.
Pros: I can appreciate that the program has a great dashboard. It's easy to take a quick glance and get an overview of what is going on in the facility on any given day. Additionally, the credit card integration is (while very expense) convenient.
Cons: The reports and financial accounting are NOT accurate. The company is well aware of this, has tried to fix the issues, but continue to fall short. If you want accurate accounting I would not use this product. Additionally, there are always bugs. The Gingr team will make updates which affect random parts of the software and they do not catch these bugs. These have cost not just our business but colleges as well thousands of dollars. Gingr doesn't care as a company and considers the monetary loss to our business as a cost of doing business.

Gingr has stopped answering calls, blocked me on social media but is still happy to charge for their defunct program. Will be dropping them as soon as possible.
Pros: Used to have great features and decent customer service. Report cards are the only saving grace now.
Cons: Customer service. My kennel runs 7 days a week, they don't provide useful support over weekends and lately I can't get responses to simple fixes. I assume they lost a key software developer from their staff because their program is littered with bugs now, especially in client communications.

We have had some high and lows with the application and people who are extremely knowledgeable and others who are not. But overall we just want them to make it right when mistakes occur and they have consistently done that for us.
Pros: The report card features are what our clients rave about the most.

I have been SO happy with Gingr! As a busy pet parent I need my pet's information to be stored in order to quickly book grooming, daycare, etc. and Gingr makes this all possible.
Pros: Highly organized profiles with lots of ways to customize and store information, great in-app reminder system, simple design which makes use efficient

It shouldn't take 17 steps to schedule your dog for boarding. However, Gingr has made that a possibility. It's such a horribly designed product. The workflows are horrible. The experience is horrible. You will see the positive reviews are mainly from Gingr customers, the boarding facilities, not their customers, me. This is the #1 reason my boarding facility gets ANY negative attention is they made the horrible choice to go with Gingr.
Pros: That there is at least an online portal and I can make online payments... one at a time.
Cons: Gingr is horrible to use. It's not customer friendly and takes multiple steps to book an appointment.

Best Mobile Access and the notification functions are helpful and the Sync capability and reports creation via Gingr is fantadtic and excellent files management product.
Pros: The Email reminder capability and the ability for booking and management of Calendar, the Gingr is the required tool which can be implemented easily withiout much technical assistant all atis features are powerful.
Cons: Nice tool for most Construction projects scheduling and through the time have been using Gingr there was zero dislike to state.

We've been using Gingr for so long that it's practically become an extension of ourselves. The live chat service has simplified both the initial installation and subsequent use.
Pros: Exciting new tool for pet owners. It simplifies processes, aids in time management, and facilitates client administration. Powerful and intuitive capabilities. The animal care sector makes extensive use of this dependable and crucial piece of equipment. It's something I'd recommend doing.
Cons: The steep learning curve needed to make full use of this program's capabilities and functionalities is a major drawback in my book. The interface is straightforward, however I needed some time to find the settings that worked best for me.

Gingr is the best option for doggie daycare in my opinion. One of my favorite things about them is how user-friendly they are, both for our customers and our stock. It's wonderful that we can interact directly with our customers and respond to their specific requests.
Pros: Full, versatile, open, and user-friendly. You can learn what you need by just perusing the web. Employees benefit greatly from the associated training. The software is not only cheap and easy to use, but also very user-friendly. This program outshines its competitors in terms of features and customization options.
Cons: The consumer portal often has an awkward interface and looks outdated. Assuming you don't have any major issues after going live, you probably won't require support very often, since they're only available during specific hours and not via phone.

I thought it was a fantastic program, however the setup should have been simpler. I appreciate the flexibility and adaptability. The staff's disinterest really put me off. When you've paid your dues, the relationship is over.
Pros: It's a great tool that helps you feel accomplished while improving efficiency in service delivery. Several components of this curriculum deserve appreciation. excellent for keeping track of clients' schedules, money, and inventory at a daycare or grooming business.
Cons: I really value GINGR's consistent service upgrades. Ad hoc reports and the reporting process aren't very user-friendly. However, new features are consistently being implemented. My only complaint about the program is that on sometimes I have to send in a page more than once.

It paid off to take my time setting up the software's preferences. The customer service response time is quite good. Everyone who has worked with me or purchased from me has been delighted.
Pros: This software has allowed for things like automated email notifications, paperless operations, online reservation requests, and electronic report cards. We rewrote the whole thing from scratch when we migrated to Gingr. My staff and I love the convenient tipping option at checkout.
Cons: The electronic message will contain updates and reminders for many pets. Customers' attention spans are short, and they quickly lose interest after learning about a single pet. Our daily rate was easily converted to the Gingr overnight rate. The only other negative aspect of switching to Ginger is that I regret not making the switch sooner.

It's a fantastic program that streamlines the service delivery process and leaves you feeling good about your work. There are several praiseworthy aspects to this curriculum. extremely convenient for managing appointments, payments, stock, and more for a grooming or daycare center.
Pros: The program was great, however I think they could streamline the installation process. I like all of the options and personalization features. The indifference of the staff turned me off completely. After making a payment, you are on your own.
Cons: I really appreciate how frequently GINGR improves its services. Ad hoc reports aren't really user-friendly, and the reporting mechanism is a bit rudimentary overall. However, more functions are constantly being added. The application's sole flaw is that I occasionally have to submit a page twice.
