Pros: Easy to use and manage users/projects. Free to use when you're translating FOSS apps.
Cons: Some Transifex options need improvements.

I started using it with a new client that offered me an account to work on their files. I immediately found it very easy to use and never had an issue with it so far.
Pros: The interface is very intuitive and user-friendly, and the search in the database is very fast.
Cons: I've noticed that the latest activity in my profile stopped updating a couple of months ago. Actually, that isn't an essential feature, but sometimes it would be useful to go there and check the latest files I've worked on.

Cons: The main thing I dislike is that any word is counted as many times as there are languages for its project, even if it's not translated into some of them. That seriously affects our word limit.
Vladimir N. · Head of Localization · Individual & Family Services · April 26, 2021
Our engineer likes the automation piece but from the translation perspective, it is not the best tool for sure, especially with the lack of TM priority list, lack of leveraging/reusing comments when needed...
Pros: it is available on the web so linguists don't have to install anything
Cons: Can be very slow sometimes, has very limited functionality for searching terms, no filtering options, no real TM management. Also hard to use and see all the info (context, concordance...) from a laptop (small screen). Very cumbersome tool from manager perspective as the team concept makes it hard to use more than one vendor per project per language.
Laurence C. · Principal Project Manager · Telecommunications · April 23, 2021
Pros: New strings appearing on the website are automatically pulled from Transifex. This allows keeping the new website content properly localized even if it changes frequently.
Cons: The javascript API and the WordPress plugin can be buggy sometimes.

As discribed with the most thing i loved about the platform, the communication and live work between the team members, as the platform can let you know who is working on what to prevent duplication and track good progress, and it does it in a beautiful way, even team members that were non tech were able to understand the UI/UX what it was trying to tell them (although my team was not even English proficient)
Pros: What i liked the most about transifex is how it can seamlessly integrate with any of our platform for integration, where other platforms failed at. We were using complex translations that includes right to left writing scripts and even languages that are quite tricky to translate including arabic, pashto, urdu, kurmanji and sourani, most of these language are near extinct and Transifex did handle these perfectly on our platforms.
Cons: The platform was sluggish beginning of 2015 now it's much seamless and fluid, really no cons in it so far, it's continuously improved.
Omar M. · Data and Tech Lead · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 20, 2021
It has been a great experience since we work with people all over the world. It helps keep a simple hub for all of our translation needs.
Pros: This software is easy to use and easy to get the hang of. It's also very accessible for anyone who needs to work on projects.
Cons: The UI isn't always the most intuitive. Some things take a little trial and error to figure out where some things go. (But once you have, it's fairly easy). I wish there was a way to group projects and hide archived projects as well.
Sara F. · Subtitle coordinator · Entertainment · April 13, 2021
Disappointing. It's looks great and offers promise but the overall execution is not where it needs to be.
Pros: Transifex has most features of other platforms like Phrase, Smartling, Lozalize, and Crowdin. It's interface is nice to look at. But boy is it SLOW. Clicking on something means I can go get my coffee and come back. This is true of the entire software, and it's maddening on every level. I try to use their command line tools so I don't have to use the interface, but even that is slow if you have a lot of files to work with. For instance, I push/pull source updates and translations using the CLI and it takes FOREVER.
Cons: Slowness, lack of improvements. The customer support will answer you quickly but all they will tell you is that what you want is not possible and it's on the roadmap. I've been using their software for a number of years -- I guarantee you everything you want is on the horizon but you'll never reach it.

Transifex has been responsive to our technical asks, supportive of our translator community, and reliable in its uptime and availability, not blocking our development flow (which has been an issue with other vendors). Top marks across the board. It's easy to harp on stuff that doesn't work, but Transifex has barely even toed that line. Props to your team on providing infrastructure that Just Works.
Pros: Transifex' mature command-line tools coupled with a robust web portal help Plex deliver a rich, localized experience for users across web, TV, and embedded platforms.
Cons: Better support and guidance for "weird" (eg, non-English) translation scenarios would be fantastic. In many of the cases where we're "asking" for help, it would be great to have been proactively provided with platform-compatible approaches.
Duncan B. · Software Engineer · Media Production · April 13, 2021
Pros: Very easy to set up and manage. Good UI. Good translation tool for non-technical translators.
Cons: The cost climb is very steep. It is becoming more cost-beneficial for our company to develop our own solution to manage translation than to use this product. We have stopped adding more of our product portfolio in to this system.
Toni T. · Senior Technical Writer · Information Technology and Services · April 13, 2021
I would say very very positive. When we had a quality-issue with one of the external translators, the Transifex team helped us to solve it quickly and professionally. Very happy with that kind of service from a SaaS company!
Pros: We really liked how easy it is to let users collaborate on the same set of translations. We also really like how the translation database helps speed up your translations AND keep track of the usage of strings, so you can keep your terms consistent.
Cons: The project setup is quite complicated and hidden deep inside the tool which makes it hard to find. This is your best feature, guys, make it more prominent!
TOBIAS K. · VP Product & Services · Information Technology and Services · November 3, 2020
Overall I have enjoyed and frankly depend on Transifex for smooth handling of all localizations for my applications.
Pros: Integrating with Transifex is an ease and the online tools are quite easily the best in its class. The CLI utility makes it easy to build and integrate into any toolchain.
Cons: Branch support seems a bit lacking overall. I would like some way to manage strings across branches without creating additional resources.
Samer A. · Senior Software Engineer · Computer Software · November 2, 2020
Transifex has helped us scale our localization process efficiently. It offers all the basics of a TMS system and has a lot of potentials. I would suggest working on your customer's pain point more efficiently to increase customer success.
Pros: Translation memory Search strings feature Possibility to connect to other vendor's API Integrations
Cons: Word limitations are a real problem because you constantly need to upgrade your subscription while growing your business. Difficulty in resolving bugs fast. Updates and system upgrades or suggestions are implemented slowly.
Melanie M. · Localization Manager · Telecommunications · October 26, 2020
I love it. it makes my life as developer way easier. We have products using it and products not using it yet, and the ones without transifex are always a pain to maintain translations. We have plans to move all our products to it. Also, the features they provide if you want to hire third-party translators are quite useful.
Pros: Using transifex improves a lot developer experience as we don't have to deal with it on the code, and we are able to focus on building other features instead. It's quite easy to configure and has a very useful CLI, which is super helpful since we can also easily integrate in our CI/CD pipeline. The documentation is also very well built.
Cons: It would be nice to fetch the translation files from transifex directly instead of having them all hosted in our applications. I believe this will be possible with transifex native, but I've applied to get a view on it, and am still waiting for a response since 2 months already.
Sergio Vinícius de S. · Software Engineer · Financial Services · October 21, 2020
We have had some issues with usage, but the chatbot and support contact was fast and accurate.
Pros: Easy to translate and review. The original and translated texts are listed side by side for easy viewing.
Cons: The management features are too advanced. Creating a project is very difficult to understand. There is a lot of confusion at the beginning of use. Registration of subscriptions did not go well.
Yukihiko E. · worker · Civic & Social Organization · June 26, 2020
Pros: Easy to use, user friendly interface, well organized for teams
Cons: I couldn't find version control of translations
Soyuzbek O. · Program Developer · Program Development · June 15, 2020
We have been using Transifex for almost a year and we are quite happy about it. We have the starter plan which is quite limited but other options were way over our budget.
Pros: It’s easy to add new resources that need translation and once you add them the translators are instantly notified. The Memory Translation feature is very useful and makes translation a lot faster.
Cons: It doesn’t offer support for the new XCLOC format that Xcode exports. At the moment I was using it, it only offered support for XLIFF files.
Andrei C. · iOS Software Developer · Computer Software · October 22, 2019
We eventually decided to switch to another platform with lower price and better functionality.
Pros: Transifex is ok: not the best and not the worst software for translations. Some features are overly complicated to use, but overall it is ok.
Cons: Pricing, value for the money and not being able to find strings easily/copy translations between projects.
Marie A. B. · Product Specialist · Internet · September 14, 2019
We use transifex to translate the user interface of the popular free video editor Shotcut. It is an international team of volunteers mostly whom I have never met.
Pros: The service has a command line utility that can be integrated with build systems and processes. I also very much like the integration with GItHub to automatically retrieve the changes. Lastly, it has good support for Qt projects.
Cons: I find the user interface for handling raised issues a confusing. It is a combination of "Comments" and "Review" with no clear way to mark issues as resolved without marking the translation as "Reviewed." I most often am able to answer the question in the issue raised, but I am not qualified to indicate if a translation is correct by marking it as reviewed.

It's great in terms of freely available translation platform, might be a little rough in the edges but will certainly fulfill every standard requirement for a vast amount of projects, especially web platforms, this is definitely my go to platform when I need to establish a new open source project.
Pros: Well, it's definitely one of the best options around, the wide range of files supported, the very intuitive design, the fact that you can open as much open source projects as you like, the admin tools, everything is just working, pretty fast.
Cons: Lack of attention to small details, there are many loose ends, some small bugs that were not taken care of for the past few years, might need some improvement from the agile side, new features are pretty rare at least when you consider it from my workflow, all the interesting integration are pretty new, most other platforms had these kind of integrations for many years now, open source friendly yet not entirely open source, mobile interface is pretty bad, might need some additional care in terms of standard support.

Translations for MATE desktop project
Pros: -Helps a lot to translate our project. - Transifex support a lot of languages
Cons: - Nothing - all good - excellent - pretty well
Anonymous User · Developer · Computer Software · April 16, 2019
We translated more than 70000 words on 6 languages. For Web, IOS, Android
Pros: - I like UI, it's really comfortable - CLI for Windows is good. - Autoupdate - A speed of translation - when your documents could be translated with 10 people the same time no matter if it's a day or night now.
Cons: it's a bit expensive, but alternatives have similar pricing.
Oleksandr P. · President · Information Technology and Services · March 22, 2019
Pros: It's easy to setup and start working on translation
Cons: The UI it's a little outdated and sometimes the responsiveness of the overall system is a little slow
Jorge M. · Senior iOS Developer · Utilities · February 9, 2019
I've used this service mostly as a translator, who wanted to add my own language to an existing translation project. Can't attest as a project owner...
Pros: Great translation experience as a translator, it's really fun to see how translation work quickly propagates into a running product and improves users' experience. Glossaries, translation history, discussion forums, machine translation, and great UX - provide all the support needed in order to properly translate a project.
Cons: A global "search and replace" feature could be nice.
Eitan B. · Eitan Burcat · Computer Software · November 8, 2016
We've been using Transifex for over 6 months now and are very content with the usability of Transifex with our apps and websites. Our websites and apps work in 4 different languages at the moment and Transifex helps us to switch from one language to another.
Pros: User experience: Fast & simple interface, very easy to translate big chunks of text. Memory of previously translated texts, so no double input. Fast implementation: Publish a new part on your website and the update shows in seconds. Very easy to use platform, to translate with a simple, but intuitive interface. Not only the possibility to translate text, but also possible to show different images on different websites, thanks to Transifex!
Cons: Nothing comes to mind. Transifex works like it should work!
