Pros: It's a really good translation management platform but prices are a bit high for what they offer....
Cons: I don't like that I have to contact them to see a demo of the product, and btw I switched to other alternatives

I have used phrase for two different clients, at this point I will definitely say it’s my favorite platform to work on when it comes to translation.
Pros: I like the fact that it’s very intuitive and nicely designed for a visual Linquist like myself. it’s very easy to learn and I like how it’s organized.
Cons: what I don’t like is that I have to run the QA on some jobs when I know there is no need to run it and after you run it you still need to do the QA one more time before you can complete the job.

I am satisfied because it is not necessary to buy CAT tool, but I can work with the credentials I become from a translation agency.

Pros: It enables to have many different accounts for different translation agencies.
Cons: I didn't understand if it is possible to import a translation memory of Trados Studio.
Magdalena K. · Free lance translator · Translation and Localization · July 22, 2024
Support is poor. Generic issues will be slow. More involved things. Glacial.
Pros: In general it is an acceptable system with one deal-breaking flaw.
Cons: You have an allotted quota of words you can upload. And it counts every word. If you are uploading words for an offer let's say that counts fully toward your quota. So, you are pitching for a large project, well you are blowing your quota with no return. So that means we have to run Trados in addition to prepare offers. In our case, there was a bug and we needed to upload and re-upload a file. That was a large file, and with that one file, we used-up our entire quota for the coming three month period as we had just paid. That is very unlikely.

They were okay for a while but when we decided to cancel, they made it impossible.
Pros: It works. It's not too terrible to use. Once you've got the flow going, it's fine.
Cons: The UI is very clunky Their billing/accounts team are super slow to respond and refuse to cancel my plan. I tried to cancel in March and the UI said it wasn't renewing but it did anyway. They say they want 30 days notice but they ignored my request and pinged me for 3 months instead. I would not use this company again or recommend them after this.
John S. · Co-founder developer · Information Technology and Services · May 15, 2024
Pros: It's online, which is useful. Other than that, nothing.
Cons: This is one of the worst CAT tools I have used in my 30 years as a translator. Not enough functions, and those that are included, are not working properly! Something as simple as inserting strings using the F8 key does not work on a Mac, even when pairing it with the fn key (or any other key combinations). The tags also show up as a series of symbols, so translating any strings with tags take forever. When working on texts with a lot of strings, you will spend twice as long on the translation compared to other CAT tools! Finally, their customer department take a long time to reply to any queries.

Pros: Very easy to use and offers great support
Cons: For my business, it is not the best that the payment is three months and not monthly
Alessia P. · Translator · Translation and Localization · December 17, 2022
Pros: Translation under the hands of specialists in the field is enjoyable
Cons: It needs more development and lacks translation in Arabic
qamra k. · writer · Writing and Editing · November 3, 2022
Pros: It is easily used and I felt like I got used to it very fast after using it for the first time.
Cons: I feel like the only con is not getting a great text overview when writing/editing the segments.
Jelena N. · Native Language Specialist · Writing and Editing · October 2, 2022
It is a reliable product and the only down side is that you need detailed instructions to use certain features like creating terminology data base.
Pros: It is easy to use once you had someone show it to you how to use it. User friendly once you know how to use the features. Pretty accurate when translating from English into Croatian.
Cons: It is not very intuitive if you want to use additional features that can aid the translation process.
Ana N. · Translator · Translation and Localization · September 29, 2022
Personally I enjoy the tool quite a lot and I'd score it perfectly if it wasn't for the character limitation issue.
Pros: The fact that you can revert almost every thing in the tool is amazing. This means that as a project manager, you can save a lot of times recreating projects just because you need to update the files, information or any other thing.
Cons: In order to work with Excel files with character limitation, there is a massive con that implies a lot of heavy file-handling to set up the projects making them not really effective.
José Antonio L. · Senior Content Analyst · Translation and Localization · September 23, 2022
Memsource allows me to work with several projects and translations at the same time, in addition to organizing translation memories and glossaries, which I can use with several projects. My job is certainly more optimized thanks to these features.
Pros: I like how easy the product is to use. It's resources help me a lot to optimize my workflow and deliver the translations with the best quality possible, ensuring coherence in terms of terminology, for instance, and also making the translation process faster with the use of translation memories.
Cons: Sometimes the final archive, after you finish the translation and opens the document in the final format, has some parts missing - there have been one to three occasions in which this has happened to me in the past, causing my clients to request the missing parts and, somehow, harming my immage as a professional translator. I would also mention the price - since the changes to purchase a kind of signature instead of paying for the characteres used, for me, as a freelance translator from Brasil, it became quite expensive.
Camila P. · Freelance translator · Translation and Localization · September 21, 2022
Pros: MemSource is user friendly, very pleasant to the eye, it has all features I expected to find, everything is very intuitive and when something goes wrong, support is available and is very efficient.
Cons: Price could be a little lower. I cannot think of anything else.
Aline L. · Project Manager · Translation and Localization · September 20, 2022
Pros: The smooth integration with Wordpress: super simple to setup and fully operational from day 1, without any technical hurdles. That's really important if you have a multilingual website. Also, they support agents reply quickly, kindly and efficiently.
Cons: QA features could be improved. There are currently no checks for consistency, for example. This would be beneficial for both linguists and PMs. Also, the Jobs view could be improved by showing all steps for each file in the same dashboard, instead of having to change step to see the status of each file. That would improve the experience from a PM perspective.
Aurelia M. · Localization Project Manager · E-Learning · September 9, 2022
I am overall pleased with Memsource capabilities and support.
Pros: This product was born in the cloud, therefore it works seamlessly with any cloud based CAT tools.
Cons: It would be great if there were any training support services that would help Memsource users to adequate their processes to the platform. It would also be great if Memsource technicians were available to do conference calls and screen sharing sessions.
Carles P. · VP · Translation and Localization · September 8, 2022
Pros: Easy to use - especially as it's cloud-based, it can be integrated with Plunet although the connector is not working properly when assigning linguists
Cons: Colour and bold tags in PPT as it doesn't respect grammar of non-English markets
Ana T. · Content Analyst · Translation and Localization · September 8, 2022
Pros: Quite simple project and translation interfaces
Cons: The research tool has an issue with apostrophe symbol recognition. This is of importance in French when translating speeches/interview transcriptions.
Clément D. · Patent translator · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · September 6, 2022
Pros: There are the preview function and QA check, and I especially like them. Especially QA is easier than others.
Cons: It would be nice if the operation when approving a task could be simpler and omitted.
Naoko O. · Freelance Translator · Translation and Localization · August 31, 2022
The website had a very sleek, powerful, and premium feel. There were a plethora of features that we could use in a variety of different circumstances, so it certainly didn't limit you to one workflow. The translation and editing experience was fast and easy, so we could get linguists to come on board and work with no huge issues at all. Overall, I am very pleased with the Memsource software, and look forward to seeing what the people at Memsource do with it in the future.
Pros: The software combines so many diverse and useful features into an all-in-one package. There was no need to use any other tool, you could simply complete your project from start to finish using this software.
Cons: Our biggest problem was that the ideal engine we wanted to use, Google Translate, would not incorporate well with the Memsource software because the language we were using, Central Kurdish, had two separate tags. On Memsource, it was "Central Kurdish", but on Google Translate, it was "Kurdish Sorani". These two tags refer to the exact same language, but since they have different names, we could not use Google Translate in our workflow. It was frustrating how a small tag error like this prevented us from the machine translation part of the software.
Dostee H. · Machine Learning Developer · Publishing · August 31, 2022
About six years ago I was introduced to Memsource by a client, who required that all of its translators use this platform. I wish I had known about it earlier. It has become an indispensable part of my translation process for all of my assignments. In addition to increasing my productivity and reducing the drudgery of translation, it has improved the quality of my work, which is the prime consideration, in my book.
Pros: Reliability, ease of use, and productivity enhancement.
Cons: Memsource satisfies all of my requirements.
Robert B. · Principal · Public Relations and Communications · August 30, 2022
Excellent customer and technical service; good value for money.
Pros: Collaboration and updates on the fly for both PMs and translators
Cons: When you have a multilingual project and you are about to upload your source document for translation, you don't have an option to unselect all languages. This means that if you have different sources for different languages you have to manually unselect the languages you don't want to translate for that specific document, instead of clicking 'unselect all' and then select only the language of choice.
Rossella M. · Head of Office and Operations · Translation and Localization · August 30, 2022
Great experience, no reason to check for an alternative.
Pros: Memsource does pretty much everything I would expect from a CAT tool. Support is super reactive when we have any questions. We are using it on a daily basis, we couldn't live without Memsource.
Cons: We had some struggle to use the Machine Translation feature at the beginning. But we had a meeting with Memsource, and everything was crystal clear afterwards (again, great support).
Antoine K. · Content & Editorial Manager · Gambling & Casinos · August 30, 2022
Good. Easy to use. Good response rate. Sometimes I need to travel and Memsource is a cloud-based tool that helps me continue the translation without relying on the local storage.
Pros: Memsource is easy to use and it has enough functions for an ordinary user like me, who would directly translate the document and sometimes outsource to others when I'm busy.
Cons: So far nothing dislike. But Memsource team can expand the function 'Convert to Memsource tags', such as tag preview and make it a preset.
Luu B. · Freelance Translator · Telecommunications · August 30, 2022
Pros: Memsource is very intuitive and overall easy to use.
Cons: Managing projects with multiple files per language can be a little time-consuming.
