Great. Amazing. I have everything that i need in one product. Before I had systems that weren't fully integrated.
Pros: I love that i can separate all my locations easily. I can see who is being seen in various locations and how to document easily with patients in various locations. Love that it's Mental Health Specific. Love the AI. Helps me understand what i potentially missed during the encounter.
Cons: It's a bit pricey, but worth it. Because i'm getting what i'm paying for and other systems that are less expensive do less.

Its been a seamless way to upload reference material. Create Notes. Create Scheduling. PHQ9 is helpful.
Pros: Ease of use is really important. Designed for me and modifiable for my practice. Economical. Price was right.
Cons: Would be great to have an app for providers on a mobile phone. Mobile app is great for patients, but

There was a learning curve, but the support is good. I get the help I need when I ask for it. It integrates with my billing and payment platforms.
Pros: Fully integrative and easy to use. Our team likes the way it connects to billing and the client portal.
Cons: There are a couple of things that could be improved. One bug I need fixed has not been. I would like a way for clients to confirm appointments in the platform.

A great EHR software, it is very intuitive and easy to use, my workers usually take less than a day to learn it and less than a week to master it. I can send reminders to my clients so they keep compliance with their visits, which is great.
Pros: Valant provides a great experience, the user experience is very nice, the costumer support is very effective and they are fast to respond and give you an answer. It integrates billing easily and helps me with keeping track of hours of service. The scheduler is very versatile, and helps with the workflow, and I can see how all my staff are doing.
Cons: The updates might get in the way of your work, but they usually announce when the system is going to be down for maintenance so you can plan ahead.

Fantastic! It's easy to learn how to use and there has only been one time that it wasn't working for a short amount of time.
Pros: I love how Valant is developed just for behavioral health. It is easy to use and I love the AI component! I love how I can see my patient's other medications and it gives me an estimated cost of their medications. I have saved a lot of time using Valant.
Cons: There isn't anything that I don't like but it is a little pricey so I would say that the price is the only downfall.
Kerry T. · PMHNP-BC · Mental Health Care · April 19, 2026
I researched a number of EHRs before opening my practice. It has been an e3ffective tool to allow me to have a practice on my own, eprescribe, bill, collect, and more. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the Beta test on the AI and it has continued to improve over time.
Pros: I have historically been a bad note taker (since 3rd grade). The Valant EHR has been a valuable tool for five years since opening my private practice. The AI has been incredible and catching everything that is discussed. Even the little things that would have totally skipped my mind to document later. This will be invaluable going forward, especially for prior authorizations that were previously lacking all the information to get approved.
Cons: Not having a student version to accompany PMHNP precepts. There are inconviiences at times but they are addressed promptly.

Disappointing But I probably didn't understand enough about the EHR suit structure and if I had understood more I wouldn't have tried it
Pros: Had the possibility to improve efficiency of charting. Integrated with the existing platform forward looking
Cons: to little flexibility in structure of the note the notes easily became became over detailed, wordy risk of record containing to much private pt information Dictation option not included in the design

I have used a number of EHR and Valent has less issues than all of them. It is easier to use, learn, document and retrieve record from. Valant is always upgrading and improving its product and keeping up with current needs and demands.
Pros: Valant is easy to use, has good technical support and helpful for our practice in communicating. Valant provides us with a system that is accessible and user friendly. It has options for billing, client portals and messaging. Our clients seem to like it.
Cons: About one time a year we have a few days where it freezes up or is down for several hours. This has improved over time but all the EHR's have this kind of issue. It is accessible in and outside the practice.
JILL W. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · January 24, 2026
I would rate Valant a 9.5 out of 10. It is an excellent system for both small and large behavioral health practices. Based on my experience with multiple EHR and billing suites, including other platforms, Valant stands out—particularly for TMS-based practices. While there are some opportunities to further enhance billing functionality, the overall ease of training, usability, and workflow efficiency is exceptional. Valant also provides strong implementation support for new practices and responsive ongoing help desk support, which adds significant value. After years of working with increasingly complex systems, Valant feels like a return to how business used to be done—simpler, more intuitive, and focused on getting the work done rather than working around the system.
Pros: What I like most about the Valant EHR suite is its integrated design. Clinical, billing, and financial data live in one system, which allows for clearer visibility into operations, aging, and performance without relying heavily on external reporting tools. It reduces data fragmentation and allows teams to understand operational and financial performance in real time.
Cons: There are a few opportunities to enhance end-user efficiency, such as improved visibility of patient identifiers across screens, more consolidated workflows for credit balance resolution and refunds, and additional system functionality for manual posting. The ability to balance both in the beginning and end, without the need start over when the balance is off. Also, improvement with telehealth functionality.

I have a good experience using it for my practice, however my patients have a different opinion. Delays in processing and system management issues
Pros: Best selling point when I was looking for EHR. I had a meeting with the implementation team to explore services before context
Cons: Minimal system, very few customizable features, app doesn’t always work for residents. Very limited capabilities and function in app.

I built an unusual psychiatric practice inside the local school district. I needed somewhere to document that was not accessible by all the other district staff. I chose Valant because of the versatility and reasonable price. I like that I can fine-tune templates to fit the needs of my practice. I have had prompt help when I have had questions and my questions have been resolved. I also appreciate the availability of help built in to the program with tutorials.
Pros: I like the versatility of Valant. It is also a very affordable product and a good value for the money. I have had good results with customer support. I don't have to bill or deal with payments so I am not familiar with that part of the product. I appreciate the security of the program to store sensitive information.
Cons: I don't really have a least favorite part of Valant. I appreciate the ease of use, and the format allows me to be as detailed as I want to be.
Rachel L. · Health Services Supervisor, Nurse Practitioner · Education Management · January 5, 2026
The best product on the market overall, still worth the expense at this time; if a comprehensive system is desired to make practicing easier.
Pros: General practice management (HIPAA compliant, security, confidentiality, scheduling, documentation options/formats, telehealth, new Ai features for easier yet secure/confidential/HIPAA compliant documentation, treatment planning features, billing, payment, faxing, confidential communication with the clients/staff, customer support and training) from the start and through out the time for a practice. Dedicated trainer to show a new comer the ropes when initially joining, which makes it easy to process and apply all the informative instructions on Knowledge Base pages. Responsive to suggestions made by practitioners and users to make the platform comprehensive and user friendly including the bugs fixes and issues that come up.
Cons: Lack of availability of a personal trainer every time there is a major update. However, it is good that training sessions are offered frequently that users can take advantage of it. It is becoming more and more expensive for a practice, but still provides value for money due to the comprehensive nature of it and staff's responsiveness to problems and suggestions.

I’ve use this program for a long time and I found it to be perfectly suited for my needs. It is quick intuitive and encompasses a lot.
Pros: I haven’t using this AHR for approximately two years now and I have had no problem with it. It can handle a lot of information and is easy to use.
Cons: The program offer so much that it takes some time to understand all that offers and how to access these things, such as treatment plan interventions.
jaclyn f. · clinician · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 24, 2025
Terrible! I would not recommend this platform to anyone! If it wasn't pushed on us by leadership I wouldn't even think to use it.
Pros: I don't...if I could give it zero stars I would. There is nothing about this platform that I like. It is only second to the worst platform I have used in my 30 years of practice.
Cons: This is not a user-friendly or intuitive platform. It takes six different clicks just to document a session, sign and lock the document. Treatment plan page will default to top of the page when entering goals, objectives and interventions which means you have to be very mindful of which you are working on and scroll down to the appropriate tab to enter information. Dashboard also defaults to original display so anytime you leave you have to reset your preferences all over again. There is too much information on the display which becomes overwhelming to look at and fatigues the eyes after a while.

Wonderful! My clinicians love the platform. Clients are able to utilize it with ease. The calendar and scheduling is super helpful.
Pros: It helps us to have an efficient work flow and it is user friendly. The tutorials are helpful when first learning the program.
Cons: Some aspects of the treatment plan. I wish that there were more options for goals and interventions.
Breanna S. · Clinical Director · Mental Health Care · December 3, 2025
Pros: Very easy to manage, never have any problems. What I like the most is that is very easy to navigate .love it!
Cons: I like it all.. when I have questions, they answer fast.. very easy to manage and system never goes down.

We have been with Valant for many years now- it is an excellent system and has supported our full practice for over a decade. The e-prescribe tool is really effective with Dr. First- makes controlled substances easy to do. It's really written for psychiatry, made by a psychiatrists and we can see that effort when using the EHR. The customer support is responsive. When running into technical issues, or improving billing workflows- we can get ahold of someone to answer our questions.
Pros: Have been with Valant for 14 years. Came from EPIC and switched to Valant when started a private practice. Finds it to be very similiar. Loves that it is a true all in one. Telehealth, billing, all done in house. Great patient experience, patients love the billing process and invoicing tools. Great outcome measure library- easy to send through the portal, have them fill out, and auto scores and pulls into the notes. Ease of use to send measures or content through portal and pulls into documentation- streamlines that documentation for process. Younger demographic loves the mobile patient portal app- ease of use- filling out paperwork and attending telehealth sessions through there.
Cons: Valant does make a lot of great updates and changes- and they are useful. Sometimes it moves too quick too fast. We do get around to learning about those updates- but if we miss some new features- we can get left behind.

Good. Happy with the overall product and like that the organization of the note meets my criteria. Note is professional when i need to print out my note
Pros: Its easy to use. Very user friendly. Great Behavioral Health specific prompts for our industry. Very nice.
Cons: Want customer service to pick up a bit more. Sometimes solo providers get pushed down the line. needs to be a bit better
Patricia S. · Owner · Mental Health Care · November 6, 2025
Really good and friends who use and like it. They all stay with it because it keeps on developing really well for Behavioral Health
Pros: Its individualized to me and my practice. Very easy and streamlined. I am a practicing Nurse Practitioner and it works for my industry
Cons: Little expensive. But we know that it's important to have features that work for presrcibers so worth the cost
Stacy K. · Nurse Practitioner · Mental Health Care · November 6, 2025
I have been using this EHR for years and have only gotten good reports from the clients regarding the thorough assessment they get as a result.
Pros: Valant provides an efficient method to do a thorough Diagnostic Intake assessment electronically. Patient's simply log in to the portal and complete the assessments. Providers are allowed to view results before the appointment. Very efficient, plus it is secure and confidential.
Cons: For my small practice, the price is a con. Obviously, I consider the fee worth it, because I have continued to utilize their services.
Maria S. · Owner Provider · Mental Health Care · November 3, 2025
So far so good and I'm looking forward to the future. It's a simple system with great upgrades and helpful task reminders.
Pros: It is simple to use. The tutorial videos are helplful and customer service helps even more. They have provided great short cuts for me too. I love the tasks on the Dashboard because I need an extra level of accountability. I noticed that the system is updated all the time and I love this. Feedback is taken into account and the changes are very helpful.
Cons: I did not know it was apart of the Amazon Web Service until the outage. I do have concerns that this system is apart of one of the 3 largest cloud systems which could make us a target for breaches. I'd like to know what is being done to be sure we are protected moving forward. Is it possible to have the appointment calendar accessible offline? Just a thought
Alishia Z. · Clinical Supervisor · Mental Health Care · November 3, 2025
I do recommend Valant and glad I chose it for our rapidly growing practice. It's good for a small group and can grow with you.
Pros: Valant is intuitive to use and navigate through. Customer support is wonderful. Behavioral health focused and often adding new features that make it easier on the providers and clients.
Cons: It goes down and can be glitchy more often lately and this creates frustration on our team and takes our time to manage impact this has on clients. I wish it was easier to pay your bill....please implement Echeck.

Running a health care practice is stressful and we face may barriers in providing the best care we can to our patients. The last thing you want is your EMR to be so unreliable that every day you worry your system will not work. This means patients do not get the care they need. Additionally this has cost this small company at minimum tens of thousands of dollars of revenue as well as negative reviews due to not being accessible.Imagine waking up to start your work day and your EMR system won't even allow you or anyone in your practice to log in. Today is a Monday and the system has been down since before 6am and it is 11:30am and still nobody can log in. We want to call the patients but we cannot even access the list of scheduled patients. Nobody is responding to emails or able to help. This has happened countless times. This Valant company business should be reported to the BBB. I do not recommend this EMR to anyone who wants to maintain a professional and reliable practice.
Pros: The ability to bill straight through the system to the clearinghouse is convenient although certain diagnosis are rejected through the clearinghouse.
Cons: $8a
Allison M. · M.D., CEO · Mental Health Care · October 20, 2025
I like it better than the system they had in place, the training part of the helpful part from the library is very helpful.
Pros: It is easy to navigate, and to explain when I was trying the sight it made it a lot easy for me to navigate the pages
Cons: It is down way too much to be a sight that we need to chart on, when you need the sight to be up and running way too many complication
carolyn Gentry G. · Caseworker · Mental Health Care · August 24, 2025
I have a good experience using valant for my client notes and intakes. I would recommend to other therapists.
Pros: I like how it is easy to use. There are lots of options to choose from. There is good support available.
Cons: I had some challenges with working with divorced parents. Only one portal is allowed and both parents need to sign the paperwork for it to go through to the chart. However, the parents can use a combined email and paperwork has been easier when Valant made some changes.
