Pros: What I liked most about Greenhouse was its ease of use, which made navigating the platform and managing hiring workflows very straightforward. The applicant tracking features were well organised and efficient, helping keep candidates and stages clearly structured. The email communication tools makes it simple to coordinate with candidates and maintain consistent communication throughout the hiring process.
Cons: What I liked least about Greenhouse was the issue of tracking duplicity, where the same candidate could appear multiple times, making it harder to maintain a clean pipeline. Additionally, the resume parsing was not always accurate, which sometimes required manual corrections and added extra time to the hiring process.

Really positive and great to see the improvement in account management. Given the amount we spend on this tool, this was definitely lagging until this year.
Pros: The tool is easy to use and has great functionality to create custom fields and filter from these. The bulk actions are excellent. Just waiting on bulk hire.
Cons: The activity could be better displayed to keep accurate reports of communication. The comments section is fine but you can easily loose the communication. It would be better to display this in a more succent way.

Overall, my experience has been good. Have had a lot of growing pains throughout the years but it has come a long way since I first starting using it. I look forward to it's continued growth.
Pros: I think it's easy to learn and user friendly. You have quick access to customer support and account representatives are usually helpful. Although since we got our new one, we haven't heard from them very much. Our old account rep, [sensitive content hidden], was amazing. They do try and keep up with the trends by coming out with new features throughout the year and informing us of the new features over email. The new features has helped with process automation to some degree. Overall, it is a great value for your money.
Cons: I do think it sometimes tend to behind the trend on the features. There are still some core things within the ATS that is hard to navigate or you have to find workarounds for.

Greenhouse is generally easy to navigate and the tech support is usually helpful. There are times when the application is clunky and slow.
Pros: Easy navigation, scorecards usability, easy to email teams/candidates, customizable and AI feature to generate behavioral based questions.
Cons: Clunkiness, stalling, freezing. Also, I don't have a place to put prospects unless I link them to a specific job.

The built in automations, streamline processes and set up makes recruiting fast easy and manageable. Best thing, it is easy for hiring managers to navigate.
Pros: The built in automations, streamline processes and set up makes recruiting fast easy and manageable. Best thing, it is easy for hiring managers to navigate.
Cons: You need to have a few add ons for additional features, such as AI tools, texting and note taking. The App is horrible and almost none functional.

Greenhouse is the best structured hiring system of record on the market, but it currently feels more like a static database than a proactive system of action. For a team like ours at Built, currently moving to a 65% strategic/35% reactive split, we find ourselves having to build external AI orchestration or buy third-party tools to handle what should be native: high-volume fraud prevention, complex auto-scheduling, and bulk workflow efficiency. It provides the essential data foundation, but the manual 'tax' required to operate it daily is becoming a bottleneck for a modern, lean People team.
Pros: -Structured Hiring Foundation: It provides a framework for objective, signal-based interviewing that aligns with our high-performance culture. -Robust API Ecosystem: The ability to pull data via the BI Connector and Harvest API is critical for our shift toward an AI-native "Intelligence Layer". -Source of Truth: It serves as a reliable system of record -Customization: The ability to build specific role scorecards ensures we maintain a high bar for talent even as we scale.
Cons: $90

Overall, it has been a very positive experience, and I’m glad our company uses Greenhouse. It also allows employees to track the status of their own referrals without needing to ask the recruiter.
Pros: Easy to understand and simple to move candidates’ CVs through each stage. As a recruiter or hiring manager, the system is very straightforward and easy to navigate independently.
Cons: Hopefully, a filter function could be added for the application questions. For example, it would be helpful if I could filter candidates who do not require visa sponsorship and review those CVs directly.
Ahisha K. · Senior Talent Acquisition Partner · Financial Services · April 21, 2026
Overall Greenhouse has been a good ATS, but I do believe there is room for improvement on the reporting of coordination and scheduling ease.
Pros: What I like most is that there is customer support willing to help me with non complex issues that accommodates multiple time zones
Cons: What I like least is probably the amount of data that im able to pull for scheduling. I would also like to see AI incorporated more into scheduling
Kelly S. · Talent Acquisition Operations Lead · Information Technology and Services · April 20, 2026
It does what a modern ATS should do. The gap is adoption — the tool is only as good as the discipline of the team filling it in, and it doesn't do enough to reduce friction for occasional users.
Pros: Greenhouse keeps the hiring pipeline visible across recruiters, hiring managers, and leadership. The structured interview kits make it easy to standardize feedback, and the integrations with our existing tools fit into the workflow without much friction. When everyone uses it consistently, it's one of the better tools for keeping searches organized.
Cons: Scorecard submissions are too easy to skip for people who aren't in the tool daily. Feedback ends up scattered in other channels instead of centralized in Greenhouse. Better nudges after interviews, especially mobile-friendly ones, would go a long way toward driving adoption.
Luis B. · Chief of Staff · Information Technology and Services · April 20, 2026
Greenhouse provides structure and consistency through interview plans, scorecards, and controlled access, improving interview quality and data integrity. However, reporting depth, candidate survey insights, CRM features, and rediscovery capabilities are limited.
Pros: Greenhouse ATS has added structure to our TA process. It is intuitive and recruiter friendly. Interview plans and scorecards raised the bar for both candidate experience and how our team interviews. All tasks and communications are well documented, including screens, interviews, scorecards and offers. Access level can be customized so hiring managers don’t get to “do their own thing” anymore, which is a net positive and helps with data integrity. They have a responsive tech support that quickly responds to help resolve issues.
Cons: Reporting is fine for basics but not as robust as we'd like, especially when leadership asks nuanced questions. Candidate satisfaction survey needs improvements for reporting and CRM, and rediscovery are weak compared to other tools.

Great. The staff members and support are amazing. Integration was very well planned and executed. I love all of the product updates and touch bases.
Pros: I really love the ease of the product and the many functions that it offers as well as the integration.
Cons: It is quite pricey and a bit difficult for our hiring model, we have a unique model which our employee numbers fluctuate.
Tracy W. · Talent Acquisition Lead · Mining & Metals · April 20, 2026
This program has been very valuable to allow employees apply for jobs internally. It blocks the general public from applying.
Pros: Greenhouse allows our company to post internal job postings that allows each employee the opportunity to apply within the company.
Cons: This program is not very functional on a tablet or cell phone. Works great on the computer but you are not able to apply for jobs on a mobile device.
Jeremy V. · Field Supervisor of Inspections · Construction · April 20, 2026
Greenhouse is excellent and a strong ATS platform for scaling teams with a clean interface. The structure, automation and collaboration features help streamline hiring and reduce manual work.
Pros: Greenhouse is very easy to navigate, intuitive and a friendly interface. Clean application flow and customizable email templates make communication smooth. Structured hiring workflows with clear stages, scorecards, interview kits to keep the process consistent.
Cons: No built in NPS scoring for candidate survey and no native headcount planning or headcount management feature.
Denise K. · Talent Acquisition Director · Accounting · April 20, 2026
Greenhouse gets the basics right and offers reasonable value for money, but it falls short in areas that matter for efficient, data-driven recruiting. The manual workload is a real pain point, and the reporting functionality needs significant improvement. It's a serviceable tool if you're on a tight budget, but teams looking for deeper automation or robust analytics may find themselves frustrated
Pros: Greenhouse is cost-effective and covers the core functionality you'd expect from an ATS. The pricing makes it accessible, and for teams that don't need advanced reporting or complex workflows, it does the job without breaking the budget.
Cons: There are far too many manual tasks involved in day-to-day recruiting operations — things that should be automated simply aren't. Reporting is another weak spot: it's limited in scope and not intuitive to use, making it difficult to pull meaningful insights quickly without investing a lot of time.
leanne T. · Sr Manager of HR Business Operations · Internet · April 17, 2026
It's been great! I do wish it had a few more integrations, however overall l like it. I have recommended it to many people.
Pros: Ease of learning and functionality. Getting onboarded was relatively easy. The customer support is top notch!
Cons: I feel the reports are not the easiest to use and could certainly be much more intuitive and detailed.

I have implemented and used greenhouse at two different organizations over the last 5 years, and there is a reason I keep coming back. They have a wonderful customer service team and are dedicated to keeping up with industry trends and implementing updates on a regular basis.
Pros: Exemplary customer support and a comprehensive library of how-to and help articles. User friendly, highly customizable. Reporting features are high-level and actually useful.
Cons: Our team specifically desires more automation features and wishes the existing automation features were more customizable. This has gotten better with time!
Mikayla H. · Senior Talent Acquisition Lead · Hospital & Health Care · April 16, 2026
So much better than my previous ATS Paycom. Makes my job easier and faster, able to review candidates and get them through the process quickly. Easy for hiring managers to use as well
Pros: Easy to use, their customer service is amazing and available in real time. Love that I can email candidates and get feedback directly in the system and that it integrates easily with Outlook, Slack, Teams etc.
Cons: Cannot text from the system this would help me be able to connect with candidates faster and easier.

We really like it - it works for our companys needs in regards to recruiting and hiring. Easily intergrates with ADP
Pros: Ease of use - very user friendly. Staff seem to be able to pick up & learn easily. Customer Support - alsway a quick response time
Cons: Applicant Tracking - making candidates easier to flag to move forward in the intervew process I think that is not as user friendly and take a while to learn

It's been excellent so far! Our implementation specialist, [sensitive content hidden] , was amazing. There was never a point in the implementation where we were floundering. We had an expedited timeline and it went amazing despite how constricted we were on timing. While communicating changes and educating hiring managers on this change can be difficult, all the hiring managers have been very excited about this change since they have so much more visibility on their candidate pool.
Pros: It is incredibly easy to keep track of offers, see candidates in the pipeline, etc. Our reporting on hiring has never been so clean and easy to read.
Cons: It would be nice if there was an easier way for hiring managers to request positions via Greenhouse. Currently, they would request the position and once approved, would get posted. It would be nice if there was a way for this to be more easily monitored. As it is currently, it seems like a lot to trust staff beyond recruiters with. However, we did figure out a workaround through other platforms that has been working well for us. Additionally, some jobs were set up in the testing phase with one person as the approver, and it doesn't allow you to change the approver after it's been posted. It would be great if that was something that was able to change after posting, considering the offer approvals can be changed at any time.

I am really enjoying using Greenhouse. It has helped with our recruiting efforts so much. The customer support we have is also very useful and timely.
Pros: The accessibility and how much use we get out of it. We have an amazing customer support person named [sensitive content hidden] who is very attentive and helps with all issues that arise.
Cons: The inability to add basic application questions as needed. We have a lot of use with specific questions from candiates and it would be easiest to add them ourselves versus having to do a workaround.
Jordan V. · Talent Acquisition Specialist · Oil & Energy · April 16, 2026
Our experience with Greenhouse has been very positive. We implemented it to replace a limited ATS that lacked scheduling, automation, and reliable reporting. Since switching, we have significantly improved hiring efficiency, candidate experience, and internal alignment with hiring managers. It has allowed us to scale recruiting across multiple markets while maintaining consistency in how we evaluate candidates. Structured interviews, automation, and better pipeline visibility have been the biggest drivers of impact. It is not a plug-and-play solution. You need clear processes, training, and ownership to get the most out of it. But if implemented correctly, it becomes a powerful system that supports both high-volume hiring and more strategic roles.
Pros: $91
Cons: There is a learning curve, especially for hiring managers who are not used to structured interviews or consistent scorecard usage. Adoption requires training and reinforcement. Customization can sometimes feel rigid. While structure is a strength, certain workflows or reporting views require workarounds. The reporting is powerful, but not always intuitive out of the box. You need to spend time building dashboards or exporting data to get exactly what you want. Cost can also be a consideration, particularly for smaller teams, though it is justified if you are hiring at scale.
Jolene B. · Manager of Recruiting · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 16, 2026
It makes recruiting for us so much easier as we can track everything from the ATS and makes us focus on everything else
Pros: Strong customer support, easy to use and efficient process automation for hiring workflows, we love that we can also send emails in bulk
Cons: No concerns to highlight at the moment; everything is working as expected. We are still experementing the new features.
Sylvia W. · Talent Acquisition Partner · Information Technology and Services · April 16, 2026
Overall, Greenhouse is a solid and reliable ATS that makes it much easier to manage and organize the hiring process. It does a great job of centralizing communication, keeping everyone aligned, and providing visibility into each stage of recruitment. While there are some usability quirks and a bit of a learning curve, the platform is powerful and effective once you get used to it.
Pros: I like greenhouse because of it's ease of use and ability to track candidates well. It makes recruiting across recruiters and hiring managers much smoother, especially with clear pipelines, centralized candidate profiles and easy collaboration tools like notes and scorecards.
Cons: One of the biggest downsides of the platform is that there are limits to customization, especially when trying to scale for bigger companies. One thing I noticed was that the custom parent fields are only limited to 25 options. Another is the reporting function. While custom reports exist, there are many limitations that cause me to have to pull multiple reports and put them together instead of just doing one report. The reports don't get as granular as I need them to be sometimes.
Linda L. · HR Senior Coordinator · Financial Services · April 16, 2026
Pros: It's a very well known and broadly used applicant tracking system. There are a lot of function customization opportunities. It also integrates with a large number of external vendors and tools.
Cons: Customer service can sometimes be slow, we get bounced between the chat and our CSM which can delay solutions. Simple functions don't yet exist, like being able to pull reporting or build dashboards for more than 2 variables.
Michelle R. · Senior Director, Talent · Retail · April 16, 2026
I love it — definitely one of the best tools I’ve used. It’s intuitive, well-organized, and makes the whole process much more efficient.
Pros: I really appreciate the level of automation that’s been put in place — it makes a big difference. Everything feels well thought-out and organized, which helps create a much smoother and more efficient process overall. It’s clear there was intention behind how this was built, and it shows in how easy it is to follow and use.
Cons: There does seem to be a lack of configuration options when it comes to the overall look and feel. While the structure and automation are strong, the customization side feels somewhat limited, especially if the goal is to adapt the experience so it better reflects different preferences, branding, or visual needs.
