Brivo Access is great user interface for all levels. Easy to use, reference, identify areas for effective and secure account management.
Pros: Brivo Genius is leading edge for AI resource/help index with ongoing knowledge base to help with all Brivo Access functions.
Cons: The sort and export features in Brivo Access are not functional and frequently asked for but not a good option.

My experience was not so good. It would have been nice had Brivo issued a warning that they were about to raise their monthly rates substantially when they sold us on the required upgrade.
Pros: It functions well overall but the phone app is not user friendly - very difficult to make changes in schedule on phone
Cons: in my small business, I was charged $1200 for a new control board 2 months ago, then hit will a 30% increase in my monthly fee this month. Seems like a predatory business practice to charge you a large sum for an upgrade that is required to keep service then increase monthly fees by 30% after you purchase the upgrade. The magnitude of the monthly increase is obscene and the reason given for the increase is a lame cliche - "Brivo informs us the increase is a result of its ongoing work to improve its suite of services." I certainly did not get a 30% enhancement of services. When I complained online to their customer service, I received a crappy "we apologize for the inconvenience<" translated as "sorry sucker."

We always enjoyed using Brivo - Their customer support was fantastic, and we also received an answer if we ever came across any issues - we were looking into the Bluetooth access with our system but i think ours was outdated,
Pros: We used Brivo Access when we first opened our gym in 2015 - They are so reliable, and the system always works - never had a glitch in the system and members always able to get in - Reporting was easy
Cons: We were running a 24/7 gym so we had to gateway many things and brivo was one we had to sync with the gym software - which of course applied more integration fees - which we tried to eliminate - so i would have to fix two different software's all the time - Brivo access is the one that is affordable and fantastic it was the software we chose that was nickel and diming us

Overall I am impressed with the ease of use of the product.
Pros: The best thing about brivo is that i am able to use my phone to unlock any door im near without having to look for keys.
Cons: Sometimes the app takes a little long upon opening the app.

It delivers the product we need to manage our office security.
Pros: It helps us keep our office secure and provides visibility to everything going on around the office.
Cons: It can be a bit clunky at times and difficult to manage without a consultant.
Jake D. · Controller · Construction · April 2, 2025
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Brivo. Very easy to navigate.
Pros: The ease to program the fobs. It’s really helpful to also see activity.
Cons: What I like least about Brivo is that you can’t reprogram a fob that was previously used.

I am so happy that we switched from Tru Portal! Brivo Access is easy to use and manage even for people who are not tech savvy!
Pros: It is easy to use and the app is essential for me so that I can lock and unlock doors when I am not on site. It is easy to set up users, easy to use and manage. I can assign users temporary access in case they just need it for a short time.
Cons: I love it all! Luckily we have been using our security company for a long time and they know all of the tunnels and access panels around the church. They had to do some creative wiring to hook up some of the panels but that isn't a Brivo thing. It is an old building thing!

Last repair was my last. I ripped out system. I would rather have a key and an intercom. Simple system. It would take me 3-4 days to get anyone on the phone. After getting them on the phone, I would get transferred 6-7 times, and many times I got disconnected. It is very difficult to understand the person on the phone. Did I say frustration! To my real estate friends, run from this product due to the customer service. I inherited this system. The monthly is too expensive. They are about $70.00 per month, and others are $10.00 per month. It was all good until I needed help!
Pros: When it worked, it was a great product.
Cons: Overpriced compared to competitors. Not just the product itself, but the monthly is 6-7 times more than the competition. The worst part about this product is the customer service. It is the worst customer service. If you don't mind, taking 3-4 days to resolve an issue, then this is your company.

Many years as a user and now as a facility manager, I recommend stay away from any software based access control
Pros: Security which is totally oversold for its security control which a farse.
Cons: Everything. This system is a pain to setup, control, manage and troubleshoot
Amir A. · President · Hospitality · April 8, 2023
Great! No issues that I am aware of from an admin perspective, users find it easy enough to install/use on a daily basis. Overall, brivo is reliable.
Pros: Brivo is relatively easy for an non-IT person to manager. Our low voltage vendor installed the physical hardware and helped created doors/etc on the dashboard. Once everything was installed, I was able to create a group for our employees. Management of users (onboarding/offboard/troubleshooting) is relatively easy...I am not our IT support, so when issues scale above my knowledge base I will call brivo support. Luckily I haven't had any issues...so I haven't called support yet. For what it's worth, I have a pretty good base-understanding of access control systems (as in, I can create a group, user, pull some reporting, etc).
Cons: too many apps, why is there a badge app/admin app? would be great to funnel all services/functions under 1 app. I'm actually pretty sure there are three apps.
Jenny N. · senior workplace manager · Commercial Real Estate · October 11, 2022
Pros: What I enjoy most about using this app is the ease of use and ability to access my office at any time of the day or night without having to worry about having the right key or contacting the right person to let me in. It is safe and secure and super convenient.
Cons: If you are a first time user, you have to coordinate your first time use based on a scheduled time in order for your code not to expire.

Allowing personnel to access and move about in our building seamlessly.
Pros: For the most part, the product is easy to use.
Cons: Going from the "Card Bank" to the directory to input a person's name and card information, there are too many steps. It should be an easier way to delete their information out of the system with out going back and forth between the card bank and the directory.
Sherri B. · Receptionist · Law Practice · March 29, 2022
Great!
Pros: Ease of adding and deleting decals at a press of a button.
Cons: There should be a way a place to record each decal to a specific vehicle.
Linda H. · Assistant Manager · Management Consulting · March 29, 2022
Overall brivo has provided the facility management we needed
Pros: Having the ability to remotely unlock doors has been invaluable
Cons: When the platform was upgraded I had difficulty moving to the new platform with the new administrators code and password it took some time with customer service to figure it out
Kris L. · Commercial Office Manager · Real Estate · March 29, 2022
Pros: It's easy to use and user friendly. The dashboard is easy to navigate
Cons: I can not always run the type of report I need.
Karrie H. · Office Manager · Environmental Services · March 29, 2022
It’s only ok. The app itself doesn’t work well so we encourage members just to use their key code instead
Pros: When it works, it’s great! Members love the idea of using the app for ease
Cons: Members struggle with the app daily. Even when we troubleshoot, make sure they’re on our wifi, and allow access always
Missy K. · Franchise owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · March 29, 2022
We have had a positive experience overall with Brivo. Then one con I listed could be something that I just haven't figured out yet. We have also had to have some assistance from Brivo support and that expereince was very positive.
Pros: The automatic door schedule removes the risk of someone forgetting to physically lock an entrance door at night. Badge access is also great because it is easier to control than using a physical key. Handing out physical keys allows someone access to a building 24/7. With badge access we can control building access.
Cons: I have not figured out how to add multiple schedules to a door. We have one building that I would like to allow to lock around 4pm every Tuesday and Thursday and then unlock again from 6-9pm, but I cannot figure out how to the second time frame. We just end up leaving the door unlocked the entire time.
Jamie V. · Assistant Director of Safety and Security · Higher Education · March 25, 2022
I was exztremely happy with Brivo until the new system.
Pros: The ability to create badges within the system.
Cons: Look up selection for users in the new system is only by last name, this does not work for Granville at all. Our staff spend too much time trying to find users and sometimes can't if we do not have a correct name. This is not helpful.
Joanne H. · Residen Services Coordinator · Recreational Facilities and Services · March 25, 2022
Excellent Tech Support, easy to use interface, but not a fan of the constant changes to the interface.
Pros: Ease of use and easily trainable to end users
Cons: Constant changes to the interface, including omitting useful tools on almost a weekly basis
Scotty K. · Project Manager · Construction · March 25, 2022
Satisfactory for the most part.
Pros: Integration was handled through our IT department and was easy.
Cons: Reporting features; configuration of reports is poor.
Pat G. · Human Resources/Safety Manager · Plastics · March 24, 2022
Pros: The ease of access with the app controls.
Cons: The iOS app crashes from time to time. Other than that, it's solid!
Eric S. · IT Manager, Infrastructure · Retail · March 22, 2022
Pros: Brivo software is great it is easy to use
Cons: Brivo software is great, nothing to dislike
Arif H. · Owner · Information Technology and Services · March 22, 2022
We're still learning Brivo Access
Pros: Ease of Access from web portal or mobile app. Usability is fairly easy even for novice users
Cons: 3rd party integrations are clunky, have had syncing issues with 2N, Schlage Allegion, and with Alula. Only integrations without issue is with Eagle Eye, Salto, and Assa Abloy
Sakada P. · Account Manager · Security and Investigations · March 22, 2022
Pros: The interface is easy to use and fairly intuitive, and has a good mobile app as well for management on the go.
Cons: Can't think of anything that I dislike.
Vanessa G. · IT Support · Real Estate · March 22, 2022
It's really good.
Pros: Ease of use and ability to do an audit to see who comes in and out of the building
Cons: The occasional outage. We use the mobile app primarily instead of a pin or physical badge. The app outage is the difference between someone having a "good experience" or "bad experience" at our business. The only other thing that bothers me is the ability to not transfer mobile passes when a user gets a new phone. I understand it's a security concern from an IT perspective. The blame gets shifted on the staff when it does. If there was a way to manage the issues that cause outages I would wear a brivo shirt to work everyday. (redundancy in the servers that manage the database)
