Overall good a lot of features are available for advanced programmers and very useful for C# programming.
Pros: Microsoft Visual Studio has been a great IDE for implementing our web app in an ASP.NET MVC pattern framework. This IDE is very helpful with complete features for C# programming.
Cons: Microsoft Visual Studio features are complex which have a high learning curve that is not typical for beginners. It is also consumes higher system resources than other IDE's.

Extremely poor. I've been using compilers and IDEs since the 1980's and I've never worked with one so poorly designed. Borlands Turbo Pascal from 1983 worked better than Visual Studio and it cost way less.
Pros: It looks like a good IDE with most things I need readily available. It's a deception. Plenty of AI agents available to help (again, a deception).
Cons: Too many bugs. Like playing Whacka-Mole. Agents destroy code quick so use Github. You will be restoring constantly. Never use Agent mode, only ask. Verify all code changes before you accept. Push working code frequently or you will waste hours trying to debug.

My experience with Visual Studio is good. It has guides and helps for learning code. Customer support helps if there is a problem.
Pros: I like Visual Studio because it is easy to use. I can write code and build projects. It helps me learn programming. It has many tools and good features. The interface is easy to understand and use.
Cons: Sometimes it is slow when projects are big. Some advanced features need the paid version. It can be confusing for beginners.

Visual Studio gets more powerful with each new version. What it can do is almost endless. Working on enterprise level Windows OS solutions, it is still the tool to use. Sometimes it can take a while to implement a feature, but you never fear that with Visual Studio it cannot be done. It is still the most powerful development environment for our needs.
Pros: With Visual Studio you can develop the most complex enterprise level applications, especially for Windows operating systems. It provides comprehensive features and third party plugins, great debugging, vast documentation and support, and of course, integration to the Microsoft ecosystem.
Cons: Visual Studio is resource intensive and requires a decent machine. There is a steep learning curve, even for experienced users, for each new version, as the feature set is so vast. Works great for Windows (obviously) - support for other platforms is limited. Other than the free community edition, the paid versions can be expensive for individuals.

My overall experience with Microsoft Visual Studio has been very productive due to its robust development tools, strong debugging capabilities, and deep integration with Microsoft ecosystems. However, it can feel slow and resource-heavy, and some features may be overwhelming for beginners.
Pros: I liked Visual Studio’s powerful IDE features, including advanced debugging, IntelliSense, integrated testing, and seamless integration with Microsoft tools, which significantly boost developer productivity.
Cons: I find Visual Studio heavy and resource-intensive, with slow startup times. Some features can feel bloated, and licensing costs may be high for smaller teams.

Pros: Visual Studio est un outil de développement quasi incontournable pour un large éventail de langages différents.
Cons: Le coût, la forte consommation de ressources, l'apprentissage un peu complexe pour les débutants, quelques instabilités

Overall, Microsoft Visual Studio is dependable IDE designed for serious development work. it excels in building, debugging, and maintaining complex applications.
Pros: Microsoft Visual Studio is a powerful and complete development environment that brings everything you need into one place. User Interface looks great and easy to navigate around.
Cons: Visual Studio can feel heavy and resource intensive, espacially on lower spec machines. Startup time and updates can be slow and the large number of features can be overwhelming for beginners.

Phenomenal experience. It's helped me and my team create many apps and fix numerous amounts of problems.
Pros: The amount of options available that cover all aspects of app development is extremely useful and makes it very easy to build and develope.
Cons: The layout can be a bit much at first but after using it for a while it grows on you and becomes easier.

A modern and clean interface with excellent community built around it. There are few development environments that compare.
Pros: MS Visual Studio is easy to use, and flexible for use across a wide range of development environments. With support for various code bases, as well as HTML, the programme provides all you need for building and developing websites, email, applications and widgets. A clear and clean interface, with great community support, documentation and plugins.
Cons: Nothing to dislike really. With plenty of online tuition, forums and community support; you can do whatever you want - guided by the system.

In my own experience I'm very satisfied with the overall experience in the visual studio working very best

Pros: I really appreciate how smooth the debugger is and how well everything integrates, especially when I’m working on gameplay prototypes or testing behaviors in real time. Built-in tools like IntelliSense save a lot of time, and the overall stability of the IDE is a big advantage for complex projects.
Cons: Once everything is set up the way you like, Microsoft Visual Studio becomes much easier and more pleasant to work with, so there isn’t much to complain about.

It has been great using VS code and Microsoft visual studio. Looking forward to future updates that should have more AI features
Pros: VS code is easy to use , it offers a great platform for the devs to build, write code . It has 2 color modes to interact with giving it a good ux
Cons: The AI plugins are not built in . One needs to install external plugins to enable AI intellisense. Most plugins have AI now

My overall experience with the latest version of Visual Studio is fantastic, but that comes from many years of using this same product and seeing it's growth into the powerhouse it is today. Anybody looking for an IDE for dev work should really start off here.
Pros: The familiarity and ease of use of this product is fantastic. The fact that I can leverage untold numbers of other technologies in one IDE with the ease of use of the good ol' reliable Visual Studio is great.
Cons: I have nothing that I specifically dislike about Visual Studio. If I had to choose one item it would be the fact that a user could feel "forced" to start using MS Copilot by virtue of it being so integrated into the latest versions of VS.

Pros: What I like most is how Visual Studio gives you almost everything you need in one place—debugging, version control, testing, extensions, and support for tons of languages.
Cons: It can feel really heavy on your system, especially on older machines. Sometimes it takes forever to load projects, and the amount of settings can be overwhelming for beginners.

Overall, my experience with Microsoft Visual Studio is very good. I have been very productive using this IDE.
Pros: Microsoft Visual Studio is easy to use for me to develop software to run in Microsoft Windows platform. It's prompts and suggestions are very helpful.
Cons: If I have to have something to dislike Microsoft Visual Studio, I would say that sometimes I have to remove the .vs folder to fix the referencing problems in VS.

I have used Microsoft Visual Studio as a developer and have taught students software development on this platform. It is a great platform to use and also to learn from.
Pros: Microsoft Visual Studio is a robust development environment that is a great tool for the beginner and experienced software developers.
Cons: While I understand that software has to be upgraded, it is not a fun experience dealing with the many versions of Visual Studio. It is a necessary evil but I wish there was a better way.
Chet C. · Computer and Information Technologies Program Coordinator · Education Management · July 11, 2025
I have used the free version for my own personal use, and made many programs, including a chess engine, a Mandelbrot fractal explorer, a 3D Rubik's cube simulator, and several beginnings of my own 3D computer games. I also taught myself C++ a number of years ago, using this software.
Pros: The ability to debug your code, including setting breakpoints, observing the current values of variables, and stepping through the code, executing one line at a time.
Cons: Previous versions before Visual Studio 2022 contained some minor bugs, though it did not seriously affect the enjoyment and productivity of working with this software. I can't recall noticing any bugs in the 2022 version.

My overall experience with Microsoft Visual Studio has been very good and I have been using it extensively for personal project development specially. The debugging and error correction prompts make it very easy to keep a track of the errors and also to rectify them.
Pros: The multiple features that the application provides for code development makes it stand out. I also really like the dark mode feature. Also, the ability to integrate AI copilot is a feature that I like a lot!
Cons: It tends to become somewhat slow at times and consumes a system resources significantly. This is one con which is mention worthy.

I have been using Microsoft Visual Studio for 2 years and I say "Visual Studio is a powerhouse for professional development, especially in the Microsoft ecosystem—but you pay for that power with complexity and performance trade-offs."
Pros: Microsoft Visual Studio stands as one of the most capable IDEs available—offering unmatched debugging, IntelliSense, and extensibility. But its resource intensity, occasional instability, and steep learning curve mean it's best suited for serious development on powerful machines. For simpler or cross-platform work, Visual Studio Code
Cons: High RAM and CPU usage, even in idle mode, especially with large applications. Known to slow down or crash under memory pressure. Updates are frequent and can disrupt work, occasionally breaking things. Recent versions, especially with newer tech (e.g. Blazor, MAUI, .NET 8+) are prone to: Debugger bugs,IntelliSense crashes and IDE fre.

I really like Visual Studio's very clean GUI and it's easy to understand, it gives you the possibility to have different custom themes , I can develop on different programming languages and it is very easy for me to use it also thanks to the plugins that it makes available to you, to get suggestions or more information
Pros: The most thing I loved about Visual Studio is its highly customizable interface. It helps very much for personalized and efficient work. The real time intelli sense helps me to increase my coding speed and accuracy and its integrated debugging tools just makes my life easier to find bugs in shorter time as compared to others. Also if I say other things is I loved its integration with git which makes code management effortless. Mostly this works with my low gm ram computer.
Cons: It is very hard to find anything that I liked least in this software. Everything is so seamlessly good.
Osama eslam M. · Data · Computer Hardware · June 20, 2025
Pros: Lightweight and responsive, works well out of the box whit most language. Extension market make it powerful fast.
Cons: Lot of update notification and settings menu can be confusing at first, and git integration sometimes feel not super intuitive.

Pros: MICROSOFT PRODUCTS AND SOFTWARE ARE ALL SO VERY EASY TO USE. THAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT THE SOFTWARE. IT MAKES WORKING SO EASY
Cons: I HAVE YEAT TO FIND ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT MICROSOFT SOFTWARE. IT SEEMS AS IF THEY ARE CONSTANTLY UPDATING AND MAKING THINGS BETTER ANS EASIER TO USE.
