Fishbowl helps small businesses track inventory, manage orders, and speed up fulfillment. It offers real-time inventory tracking, barcode scanning, mobile access, and integration with accounting tools such as QuickBooks and Xero. While users value its core features, some cite limited reporting capabilities as a drawback.

Pros: Customer support and order management. It connects well to quickbooks and I can understand the steps.
Cons: I am still learning how to fix the invoice issue. The Fishbowl Academy can be brought up to date. I feel like it is missing information.

Been using it for about 3 years now. Really like the customer service team. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Much better than an AI chatbot or outsourced customer service.
Pros: I like how we can do everything out of fishbowl -> order management, inventory tracking, reporting, shipping labels, etc.
Cons: Never have been able to get the quickbooks online integration to work for us. Causes doubled up payments and a lot of reconciling on the accounting side.

Overall, my experience has been good, but I don't use it every day, so I can't say much about the app's workflow.

Pros: Customer service is excellent; the agents are highly trained, and the inventory team is very friendly.
Cons: The way it is updated should be more backward-compatible and allow users to continue working without having to stop what they're doing.

great and tech was knowledgeable and friendly and like i was saying just did a great job. A+++ and thanks again
Pros: AWESOME CUSTOMER SUPPORT 24/7 anytime we need it. Solve the issue and even looked into another problem we had as well so overall great job
Cons: nothing.. it was all good i really cant think of any "cons" from the call or service overall. so a+ job really

My overall experience with FishBowl has been great. The learning curve is steep and the occasional system outages can impact our offline workflows greatly.
Pros: There are a dozen ways to look at data, which is helpful for our many departments. I used to work in order management/customer support and would spend most of my time in the sales windows. Now I am in inventory management and spend most of my time in the manufacturing windows. Having one comprehensive system has made changing departments seamless.
Cons: It's easy to "overwhelm" FishBowl. If you're working in too many tabs at once, the system often gets slow or freezes.

Fishbowl reports can be customized but the response time is a bit long. It would also be nice to see reports on screen rather than as a PDF report or CVS output.
Pros: It offers alot of flexibility to accommodate our business model of high-mix low volume sales, as well as custom builds. The modules are intuitive and there is clear traceability.
Cons: I would like more granularity and data analytics capabilities, for example, to drill down to individual raw material costs per sales order over time. The reorder reports can also be improved by providing shortages to a certain data range, rather than all or none approach.

Pros: Fishbowl is a great value for the money for small manufacturers like us, who have very few users. Customer support has been exceptional. We use the web based version and having the ability to use it from any location is also a great advantage.
Cons: While Quickbooks is included with the contract when you purchase Fishbowl other integrations are not. We wanted to purchase the Shopify integration however they were experiencing difficulty with it and was unavailable. We went with the E-commerce instead. This isn't terrible for our current volume but may become expensive at the next tier.

I have been using Fishbowl for nearly two years now and it has been a great experience. While we have had some growing pains getting used to the software and learning its little quirks. The biggest issue we have had is that we did not initially conform all of our part numbers and descriptions which made it difficult to search for certain parts. I have mostly fixed this issue at this point, but it would be nice if the search criteria wasn't so specific.
Pros: Easy to learn graphical interface. Very effective at inventory management for a small warehouse. Client runs on multiple operating systems for ease of use with a variety of mobile devices.
Cons: Price is pretty high even compared to competition. I do not like the idea of paying for industry standard reports that seem to be missing from the client. Issues with "scanning" on IOS phones.

Overall, my experience with Fishbowl has been positive. It’s a powerful system for managing inventory and orders, though it takes some time to learn and get fully comfortable with.
Pros: I like the detailed inventory tracking and how it integrates with accounting systems. It helps keep operations organized and gives better visibility into stock and orders.
Cons: There is a learning curve, and some parts of the interface can feel outdated or less intuitive than newer systems.

I am the Inventory Specialist in our Manufacturing Plant. Before Fishbowl I spent countless hours looking for and counting every part in our plant, and also products. Once we signed onto Fishbowl I entered every product into the system. I added SKU's and Bar Codes to all of our parts and products and then our shipping team can scan out all orders live as they ship. Our manufacturing manager can scan completed products straight into inventory so I could have confidence when lining up the shipment, that the products were available.
Pros: I love Fishbowl for its ability to warn me of upcoming shortages in our manufacturing process. I love how it links our financial team to my orders and supplies to streamline the accounting process when invoicing and making payments. I love the ability to adjust Inventories as I walk around the plant, keeps me from wasted paper and time. I also love the fact that the customer support is live and an actual person. It has cut the cost of our operations by allowing me to be free to do other tasks. Mostly importantly, the security of knowing there is restricted access and there must be a log in for every action.
Cons: There is very little that I dislike for the fact of time saved and accountability of my suppliers. I used to spend so many hours walking around and inventorying every part 2 - 3 times a week.

The implementation was great. Customer service to get up and running was exceptional. Fishbowl has helped with automation and efficiency throughout our organizations.
Pros: The ease of use and accuracy with inventory management has been a huge benefit to our (two) companies that use Fishbowl
Cons: It takes a little longer to log into Fishbowl (there is a delay) and this is for both companies that we have in place.
David S. · Partner · Computer Hardware · April 21, 2026
Overall, the Fishbowl experience has been good. I would recommend the product to another company. We had an issue recently that made Fishbowl feel like a nightmare. The customer support was helpful and diligent on getting the program back up and running. It is still not completely the way it was before the issue, but it is usable. Fishbowl still cannot explain what or why it happened with a good explanation or reason. We use Fishbowl a little different than the normal customer would which makes it a little more complex.
Pros: Inventory management is good. Wish there were more options in customizing reports. Customer support is responsive and helpful.
Cons: I think it is a little pricey. When something breaks in the system, it is not the easiest to reset to prior settings/mapping, etc.
M M. · Manager · Consumer Services · April 21, 2026
Our overall experience with Fishbowl is very good - which is why it is our primary business platform. It is a little discouraging that a couple of issues take in excess of a year to be addressed
Pros: Fishbowl is an excellent production, inventory management and order fulfillment and invoicing platform that integrates well with shipping, commerce APIs, and QuickBooks. The customer support is for the most part really good and available.
Cons: If you have an issue that requires attention by the programmers, it can take an extended period of time before they are addressed.
Timothy H. · eCommerce Manager · Food Production · April 20, 2026
The software is very simple and to the point. A good program for data entry and inventory trends and the control of each one.
Pros: The overall ease of use. Does what it says it will do. Excellent for managing our warehouse and manufacturing operation. Good price for the content of the program.
Cons: Not real sure on the security aspects of the program. That is just my opinion. Although we have not had any issues to date.
Melvin B. · Warehouse Operations · Warehousing · April 20, 2026
Very positive, I do believe firmly that Fishbowl is a great product that also connects (by feed) seamlessly to Quickbooks Online, which has saved us many person-hours, thus providing value for money spent.
Pros: We use it mainly as a WMS, and there's an awful lot of functionality within this product to take advantage of. Calling out the "wiki" of videos and other materials for bot introduction to Fishbowl as well as to become aware of many aspects that help order management.
Cons: Reports and/or ability to write custom-reporting to meet our specific business needs. I do feel this is a bit more "back-burner" and may be in development.
Adam L. · Director · Construction · April 20, 2026
Our experience has been, overall, a good one. The tech help is very helpful when needed, and the software seems to function well.
Pros: Fishbowl works really well as it is. But there are some functionalities it is lacking. We worked with developers to create a customer report for us that they just were not able to do (create a production list). I like the intuitiveness of use, and I like the way most of the process flows are set up.
Cons: The RMA process is very cumbersome and repetetive. There are so many steps to the process, and doing one simple return takes much longer than it should. It would be nice to have saved settings to speed up the process, allowing for adjustments if desred. We do wish there was aa

we use this product for for inventory projections and sales projects based on the current inventory and sales quotes
Pros: we use this product for inventory count and monitor. Sales quotes and and sales projections and manufacturing processes.
Cons: reports for venders and customers lack standard ISO 9001 performance, on time delivery and returns and defects.
Richard D. · Production Operations MGR · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · April 17, 2026
Recently FB has been little troublesome in maintaining stock count, we face errors of pick stuck, unable to close short order etc. Cloud version exists but may not be as seamless as true SaaS platforms Remote access can require extra setup
Pros: Easy Applications, Designed for small → mid-sized companies Handles increasing inventory complexity More powerful than basic inventory tools but cheaper than full ERP. It supports: Bill of Materials (BOM) Work orders Material planning (MRP-lite)
Cons: Software errors and glitches, Cloud version exists but may not be as seamless as true SaaS platforms Remote access can require extra setup

Excellent. And way better than any others I hav used from an ease of use standpoint. It’s a very pretty program.
Pros: Ease of use. It’s very understated when it comes to the user friendliness. I would recommend it to anyone!
Cons: Doesn’t show all info from all aspects when you search for a supplier it didn’t show the part number and all information. So that was limited.
Matt F. · Procurement manager · Arts and Crafts · April 16, 2026
We are just at the basic inventory control, and it has been a good experience. We look forward in upgrading when we grow the business
Pros: Inventory control with bar codes scanner on phone. The reports are very detailed and are valuable for our business.
Cons: You can't print a variety of barcodes that you need. You have to print a group or a certain barcode. You can't pick five barcodes and just print them.
Scott B. · Purchasing Agent · Machinery · April 15, 2026
Great overall experience—easy to use, reliable performance, and helpful features that make daily tasks smoother and more efficient!
Pros: Fishbowl Inventory streamlines stock tracking, integrates smoothly and boosts efficiency—reliable user-friendly, & powerful!!
Cons: The payment options feel limited and outdated, with little flexibility for modern businesses. It’s frustrating that common methods aren’t supported, and the lack of seamless billing integration makes managing subscriptions and transactions more time-consuming than it should be.

Our overall experience with Fishbowl has been very positive. Having an automotive based business, there are many combinations of parts we can put together, so kits has been very valuable to our business. The integrations with the ecommerce platforms and shipping solutions have made our order management efficient and effortless. Fishbowl has been an integral part of our company's success.
Pros: We have been using Fishbowl for 8 years. It does everything we need for inventory control, point of sale and order management. The integration with eBay, Big Commerce and ShipStation are paramount to our business running smoothly. Anytime we have needed customer support, they have been responsive and resolutions have been quick. We mainly use kits on our selling platforms and Fishbowl's capabilities in this area are versatile.
Cons: Any time there is an upgrade, we are reluctant to install it because of issues we have had in the past upgrading the first day or two after it is released.
Deeann B. · Owner · Automotive · April 14, 2026
Overall I have a good impression from Fishbowl, pricing is affordable for small teams, but its got the feature set for big customers. I would use it for again if I needed to make the choice.
Pros: They have a self-hosted version, its very high quality, low maintenance to run the server. The software has a huge set of features for manufacturing and inventory control. Sales orders and purchase orders are also all under the same roof. Sales orders support invoicing and reporting. Manufacturing has BOM's, Work Orders, Manufacture Orders, and has options for custom MO's as well as reverse MO's. Software has a great layout, its not old and dated, but neither is it a flashy smooth interface that changes with every new update. Styling is consistent. Customer support is easy to reach, they recently on-boarded a number of new employees, so no issues. Accounting export is automatically synced from Fishbowl to Quickbooks. It supports desktop and cloud versions of quickbooks. Seamless integration.
Cons: New features are slow in coming. They could use an upgraded custom reporting tool, current stock report set is great, but ability to customize is somewhat lacking.
Andrew B. · General Manager · Machinery · April 14, 2026
We have had a wonderful experience overall, and are VERY happy we found FIshbowl when we did (8 years ago or so?) as it has fulfilled all of our inventory needs and more!
Pros: We like Fishbowl because it serves as a very robust source of truth handling everything from order processing, to invoicing and payments, to inventory management, to accounting. It is also a great bridge from our ecommerce store to quickbooks. It has way more inventory functionality than Quickbooks and our e-commerce store and really does a great job for us when it comes to managing inventory.
Cons: I don't really have many complaints with Fishbowl other than with our most current website migration, we don't need a lot of the sales features at this point and it is getting a little expensive for how we are using it just due to our exact set-up since we now have different costs with the new website and our order flow is different.
Jason F. · President · Retail · April 14, 2026
Fishbowl is an integral tool in every aspect of our production and order fulfillment process. We use it day, every day. The support team is awesome, and Fishbowl allows us to monitor and track inventories of our most basic components all the way up through each step until we have a finished product on the shelf, ready to ship.
Pros: Fishbowl is an easy solution that allows us to track inventory, manufacturing, and order fulfillment from the most basic parts and components, to finished and shipped product. For the most part, Fishbowl has integrated well with other software our company uses like Shopify and HubSpot. The customer support team is also stellar. They have always been able to answer my questions, or they take the time to find an answer and get back to me. I never hesitate to reach out to them.
Cons: I wish it was possible to receive notifications. It would be nice if I could receive an email when my stock is getting low on certain products, or customize the visibility of sales orders to easily see when certain products are being ordered (customer ordered product A, that SO is now bolded, a different color, etc.) We integrate with Shopify, and we have two separate production and fulfillment facilities. I wish Fishbowl was able to split a sales order when parts of the order will be fulfilled at facility A and the rest of the order will be fulfilled at facility B. The manual workaround is inconvenient.
