Overall, the platform is user friendly and well suited for recreation operations. I would recommend MyRec to other local departments.
Pros: Registration process and financial reports are user friendly. Facility rentals are also very user friendly.
Cons: The email blast system is limited and doesn't allow you to filter certain groups. The text editor is also not very intuitive and has causes a lot of formatting issues.

Overall for a small to mid sized department with staff who are not technologically inclined this is a great software. The learning curve is easy and things are pretty intuitive. It has the functionality you need but may not have some of the fancier capabilities. Also, the value is there with the pricing.
Pros: I like that MyRec is intuitive and simple to use. Their customer service is excellent, for example if you call them you talk to an actual person. In my experience the customer service people are able to fix your problem before you end the call with them.
Cons: I think the customer UI could be modernized a bit. Also, camp site reservations could be added. That is all.

There are lots of things that MyRec does well and ways it stands out from other systems. We were initially very excited about it. That excitement has dwindled a bit, mostly due to lack of support and design limitations. But the system is constantly improving and our most recent experience with customer support was great- so I'm optimistic!
Pros: I like the all-in-one format. The back end is also reasonably easy to navigate and let's me do most of the things I want to do for registration.
Cons: We're not able to do much to personalize the website. The photo quality is grainy and it's not as mobile friendly as we'd prefer. I've also had a hard time with getting support from MyRec when things come up. A few of the support staff have been excellent, but many emails go unanswered and our new staff untrained.

We enjoy using MyRec and will continue to use. We just wish when we have complex problems there is a better way to work around those issues.
Pros: The people are all very nice and helpful. I feel like the programs we developed work good for what we need. The only problem is they can't be to complex because then we run into more problems.
Cons: Reporting does not give me what I need. We have multiple different "activities" being purchased at one time and when putting that information into Quickbooks I need to know how much money each activity brought in. I have to go manually into each transaction and look at the activity and then subtract the fee that was charged as well to get an accurate amount.

My overall experience with MyRec.com has been positive. Customer Service was so quick to help with one issue that I couldn't figure out and the program has been incredibly easy to learn.
Pros: Coming into my new position, I felt like MyRec was incredibly easy to learn. Customer Service scheduled a call with me as a new user and walked me through the basics while ensuring I knew I could always call or email with any questions that came up.
Cons: I wish it was easier to change a facility reservation without cancelling the reservation and starting all over.
Mariah M. · Recreation Program Coordinator · Government Administration · February 12, 2026
Easy to learn, overall a good product. There are a couple glitches I wish we could remedy as mentioned above. The irony is the name is My Rec and yet the software doesn't offer a way to "cater" the settings to be just for my building. Would love if you did this!
Pros: Like the overall calendar usage to see the rooms at a glance, building at a glance. I also feel its simple enough on the user end for our older adults to navigate.
Cons: I really wish we could "lock" the calendar to be just one facility and stay there. I dont like that it goes back out and you have to pull down from the menu again the building you want. Anything to help me keep My Rec catered to my particular building would be helpful and I wish it did that as the previous software did do that. Checking out is a little clunky if you have "free" programs - of which I have several as I run a senior center. I wish there was a bypass to make it easier to "check out" when there is no fee.

Myrec.com took us from paper registrations to online registrations back in the summer of 2019. We love how easy the software is and how supportive the staff is on the helpline. We are happy with myrec.com!
Pros: Myrec.com is extremely easy to set up registrations and the ability to export rosters for staff/coaches is a great feature.
Cons: Email blasts are not reaching parents and are always going to their spam folders. This has caused problems in the winter months as inclement weather requires us to cancel sports, and not all parents receive the news.
Robby M. · Teen Center Coordinator · Recreational Facilities and Services · December 30, 2025
Have had Myrec for 9 years and very happy with the product for what we use it for.
Pros: love that it is cloud based. easy to view rosters, schedules, programs. easy to use to customer. user friendly for staff finances are easy and connects directly with authorize on payments/refunds. Customer service has been great and when things come up they are usually fixed quickly.
Cons: There are some bugs in the system. People regularly complain about getting locked out of account and not remembering password. Forgot password seems to rarely work. Mass emails have been locked up before and send at later dates. Emails sometimes go to junk folder.

A wonderful journey since 2012. Watching this software grow has been incredible. I remember watching Ray play his guitar for us at the MRPA conference and now myRec is a nationwide leader in rec software. Fantastic!
Pros: MyRec is designed and maintained by recreation professionals, for recreation professionals. Customer service is able to talk you through any/every issue and guide you to solutions in a very short period of time. MyRec understands that rec departments have unique needs because they have been there. Thank you for understanding what it takes to run successful programs, manage facilities, and engage communities.
Cons: Inactive vs. Active email addresses and not being able to pinpoint why/what we can do to prevent this from happening.
Katie M. · Recreation Director · Recreational Facilities and Services · October 28, 2025
Very good and helpful. Everyone has made this experience great.
Pros: How very easy it is to use and how supportive everyone for MyRec is.
Cons: There really is not anything that I can say.

We have had a great experience with MyRec so far. Parents and ourselves have appreciated the convenience and ease of it. Anytime we've had a question about something and called, everyone who we've spoken to has been more than helpful. If there was something they couldn't correct or answer in that moment, they would make sure they looked into it further and always got back to us quickly.
Pros: MyRec is the first registration website we have used. Before, we were the typical paper and cash registrations. MyRec has made our registrations so much more convenient for ourselves and our participants. Having everyone's information at our fingertips instead of filing through paperwork saves us so much time. It's great for promoting our programs, events, and other information we need to get out to our community. It's also been a great addition to our After Care program which has different rates for the amount of days registered. The advanced activity option is great.
Cons: We've have had quite the trouble with parents using MyRec on their cell phones. They have a difficult time completing the check out process and we end up getting a lot of phone calls. We suggest they use a computer, and once they do, everything works fine. If MyRec had a mobile app that allowed parents to register easily, view upcoming information, and see their programs at a glance, that would be the icing on top of the cake.
Owen G. · Director · Recreational Facilities and Services · May 2, 2025
Their customer support is top notch! If I have a question or need to brainstorm a new solution, I can ALWAYS reach a live customer support person. They even make sure to take time to follow up with questions that cannot be answered immediately in a timely manner.
Pros: MyRec is continually improving and growing with changes in our industry. They strive to keep their software up to date and grow with ever changing technology.
Cons: Some of the reports are rather tedious to populate. I would like to see more streamlined process of creating programs & activities. The 3 different set up options make it cumbersome. I wish there was a wait list option for advanced activities.

Overall the experience has been very positive. Other than the one con I had, it has been nothing short of great.
Pros: I love how user friendly the software is. I feel like for both residents and staff, MyRec allows everyone simple and informative access to all aspects of the website.
Cons: From an administrative perspective, I do not like how when searching for past programs by selecting a date and reviewing the information, when you are finished, it takes you back to the current day. Too many times I found myself searching for multiple programs that occurred in the past, and having to manually put in the date one-by-one each time became quite the inconvenience.

Amazing all around. We love MyRec and so do our customers.
Pros: Ease of use for us as well as our customer. Amazing customer service and they are always innovating their product.
Cons: Not much, we have been with them since 2020 and there are still a few reports I would like to see on the financial end, but overall they are great.
Melinda S. · Administrative Manager · Recreational Facilities and Services · May 2, 2025
Except for this users' deficiency I am so glad I chose to go with My rec over another software program my team had been considering. When things go wrong it's never been a software issue. The customer service is excellent.
Pros: A company's employees are a reflection of their excellence and My Rec has excellent employees in their customer service department.
Cons: For me the actual software is a challenge. Many times the directions are not clear or complete enough for me. As a 65 year old, who did not grow up with this technology, many times i don't understand where I went wrong. Perhaps the directions are written for someone who is more proficient in this type of technology. Perhaps a section in the help feature geared toward the remedial user ... perhaps a primary level explanation! Also, a better calendar would be useful. Seems primitive compared to other software company's calendars.

We have had a great experience with MyRec! The software is easy to use and any issues that we have had have been rectified quickly.
Pros: The customer service! We really appreciate the fast and professional service that you provide.
Cons: If I have to put something down for this, I will say that I wish there was a sub total for the top section of the income summary report. This would make it easier to confirm that the total matches the disbursement summary report.
Meaghan T. · Recreation Specialist · Recreational Facilities and Services · March 25, 2025
Words I would use to describe our first full year for programs and activities: User friendly for both management and participants of our programs and smooth sailing all around! Deployment is scary. Setup brings me back to the old saying: You don't know what you don't know!
Pros: The customer service is responsive and plentiful.
Cons: I'm always frustrated when I use my back arrow to go backwards and it doesn't allow it. I haven't recorded/ written down which ones but several times a week I a talk to myself about not having a handle on the back arrow!
Elaine B. · Executive Assistant · Government Administration · March 20, 2025
It helps us translate our marketing matierals into sales via QR codes, but we would like to see the mobile cell version be easier for people to create an account. Developing a mobile app would also be a great solution to this issue. We have received a lot of feedback about the mobile version being difficult to use for creating an account and making payments so we normally encourage people to use the mobile version as a way to view programs and that they create their account and sign up for activities using a laptop or computer. Although I like the general structure of the web pages and appreciate that other nearby recreation departments use this software—which helps with user familiarity—we would prefer a design that offers more editing flexibility, similar to a GoDaddy website.
Pros: Easy to create and update program descriptions.
Cons: The way the days are shown in the activity column. Ex) MTuWThuF We think it would be a lot better if you stacked them vertically like below or Mon, Tues, Wed and then if it was 5-7 days a week just Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri

My overall experience with MyRec.com is very good! I would recommend it to anyone.
Pros: I like how I can learn to use different features easily. The help page is great! I have printed off a few things I wasn't sure how to set up.
Cons: So far just one thing, I can't figure out how to reduce the size of our logo on our pages and receipts. I wish we could use the MyRec.com Point of Sale on our iPad.
Jerrie P. · Secretary · Recreational Facilities and Services · February 6, 2025
I would give it a 9/10. There could be some improvements made in the cart and with UniPay compatibility. I do think that duplicating programs could also use some improvement, but overall, the site is user friendly.
Pros: The ease of use, especially for registering people for programs. It is also very easy to generate reports for financial and participation records.
Cons: Users tend to have issues with UniPay. UniPay's compatibility with MyRec could be better. Also, the ability to have diversified pricing for rental facilities would be a nice addition.
Alexander S. · Parks and Recreation Coordinator · Recreational Facilities and Services · January 30, 2025
Good. Not perfect for a non-traditional entity like us. MyRec is open to suggestions for improvement, which is great. And we are generally able to work around things if they can't grant our requests for edits, etc. Cost is quite affordable. *One of the questions on this survey asks for what purpose we use the site. I chose "registration" but it's really more like "other". We use MyRec for products and events.
Pros: Support is easily available. Everyone we've delt with is friendly and helpful.
Cons: 1) MyRec is designed for Park And Rec depts., which is fine, but it would be great if it was more user friendly for non-traditional clients like us. 2) MyRec can be a little clunky. This includes the language that they use. For example, when referring to a product, “pick-up instructions” would be a much better term than “acquisition instructions”.
Scott B. · Urban Conservation Specialist · Government Administration · August 27, 2024
Overall, my MyRec experience has been good. The customer service is phenomenal and are always able to fix my issues.
Pros: I like the ability to create a variety of different program types and the ability to set specific details for each activity.
Cons: I find the finance tab difficult to navigate and to understand past payments. If a refund is issued, it is posted to the original invoice instead of a separate line item.
Andrea R. · Administrative Clerk · Recreational Facilities and Services · June 21, 2024
Pros: Account management - easy to help customers reset passwords and help with payment history We like the digital sign in/out
Cons: Email blasts Registration steps- overly complicated with disclaimers Custom forms Overall look of our site Unable to save payments or enroll customers in automated payments
Lindsey O. · Recreation Director · Recreational Facilities and Services · June 18, 2024
I have used other recreation management products for decades at my former place of employment so for me, there was more of an adjustment than learning process. MyRec functions well and the support cannot be beat.
Pros: Descriptive/catalogue feature. Tech Support is absolutely amazingly helpful.
Cons: Searching for old activities. Inability to enroll from member account screen.
Amy H. · Recreation Director · Recreational Facilities and Services · May 1, 2024
Overall, we love myrec and are happy to be using the site! The registration process is simple to figure out.
Pros: MyRec is very easy to use on the management side. Customer support is always available to answer calls and help to the best of their abilities.
Cons: I would like to see an app at some point for MYREC, as most people use their cell phones these days.
