Very smooth -- things operate in the background and we don't have to think about the details of HR very often.
Pros: The onboarding process was fantastic -- the process was clear and the expectations were established helpfully.
Cons: Fortunately for us, our HR support needs are pretty minimal, so we haven't encountered any difficulties yet.

Perhaps the worst customer experience possible. The disconnect between what sales offers / promises and reality is significant. If I were an executive at TriNet, I would be concerned about retention and brand reputation. I will not recommend TriNet to anyone.
Pros: The sales experience was the highlight. Once we were handed off from sales to implementation the experience has been extremely negative in all aspects.
Cons: Where to start - the overall experience has been awful. Inconsistent messages, representatives (we haven't had one consistent rep since joining), process and pricing inconsistencies. The overall customer experience the awful.

Inspiring, comforting, supportive, and superlative. From the initial pitch to win our business I was inspired by the attention to detail and the care the TriNet team put in to ensuring their customers had all the tools they need to be successful. They were the best value for the cost of their services, and allowed us to provide our team with better benefits and more perks than we could have with any other service. The way they approach security and data protection puts my mind at ease. And the TriNet team is always right there when I need them.
Pros: What I love the most about TriNet is their team. From our initial sales team, through our amazing Implementation Support, on to our Customer Service Relationship Manager, and Payroll Customer Success Consultant. Hands down some of the best service experience I have ever had, with any company. They go above and beyond and honestly see your success as their own. So they work endlessly to ensure they are providing the exact tools or service you need, the way you want to have it.
Cons: Their platform is so detailed and the onboarding tour was a touch rushed (I could have used several webinars or tech guided tours, to help me get more acquainted). I feel like I am always asking questions about where to go, or how to do something.

Since beginning with TriNet in September 2025, our experience has been great. They have been instrumental in helping our small business streamline its HR and administrative processes. The services provided, particularly the legal and insurance benefits, have proven invaluable and have positively transformed how we manage our workforce.
Pros: Exceptional HR and Legal Support: The most significant benefit for our small business has been the access to legal professionals for HR issues. This has saved us considerable money and provided peace of mind, allowing us to manage complex situations with confidence. Enhanced Employee Benefits: TriNet enabled us to offer a level of comprehensive insurance to our employees that we would not have been able to secure on our own, which has been a huge boost to our recruitment and retention efforts. The Payroll process has been a timesaver too!
Cons: The weakest aspect of the service for us is the job posting and applicant tracking portion. Specifically, the initial setup for managing the flow of incoming resumes proved to be overwhelming and not very intuitive for a new user. Improving the user experience and simplification of the resume management system for new hires would be a valuable enhancement.

My overall experience with TriNet has been fairly positive and would definitely recommend to others.
Pros: What I like most about TriNet is that they handle payroll processing and employee benefits such as health insurance.
Cons: What I like least about TriNet is that it can be expensive and can have less control over HR processes.
Mike F. · Manager · Food & Beverages · March 20, 2026
Pros: user friendly, pretty straight forward, high-quality, cost-effective benefits packages that rival large corporations, designed for small-to-medium-sized businesses
Cons: slow customer service, high costs, and a clunky, outdated technology platform, long wait times for support

It was our organization’s HR platform, and from an employee experience perspective, it delivered a seamless service that effectively met our HR needs.
Pros: It’s a no-nonsense platform that works exactly the way you expect it to. I don’t recall ever struggling to find what I needed.
Cons: It's not the most aesthetically pleasing platform. Like I said it's a reliable platform functionally but it doesn't have the most refined UI.
Joseph Y. · Program Manager · International Affairs · March 4, 2026
Pros: I started using TriNet when they acquired Zenefits, so we were using a specific version (HCM) that I really loved. I enjoyed the simplicity of the product, I thought it was very user-friendly for both admins and employees, it was easy to set up, inexpensive, and made onboarding, payroll, and benefits a breeze.
Cons: TriNet stopped supporting the Zenefits product and some features started losing functionality (ie: no more integration with background check partner). They then required our account move to a new version and pricing structure. We used TriNet for nearly 6 years and if not for that change, we would have stayed with them indefinitely if it weren't for these changes.

I found TriNet to be a clear and complete business tool that met all my needs. A complete and indispensable tool for my work environment.
Pros: I liked the ease of use of the TriNet interface. Navigating to all aspects of the workspace experience is straighforward and comprehensive. From timekeep to payroll, taxes to benefits, this product is a complete solution for my business.
Cons: I don't really have any complaints. Pretty much all my work-related, HR, tax reporting and payroll needs were easily found and actionable with minimal navigation in the software.

Overall it was a good system. I know companies that use and love TriNet, it just didn't work for the business needs at the time.
Pros: TriNet had great customer service and we had a great account manager for HR related items. The system was fairly easy to use.
Cons: It didn't support our international organization the way we hoped it would've. Also, the system wasn't as intuitive as you wanted it to be for certain processes.
Lashelle F. · HR Generalist · Non-Profit Organization Management · January 12, 2026
It was great. iT was a huge help since we were so new. Trinet was very supportive and walked us through each element of HR. And helped decrease our risk and liability.
Pros: Trinet was really helpful for our organization. It helped us organize everything we needed as a new organization. It helped a lot that they were able to trouble shoot any issues which took a huge weight off of us. Since we already had so much to do.
Cons: We were a new organization so all the information was a bit overwhelming. It was confusing to understand how exactly Trinet worked & each segmented division.

TriNet served its purpose as our first US payroll solution and handled the basics competently. The low employee minimum made them accessible when we were just starting out. However, the cost became hard to justify as we grew, and their inflexibility when we temporarily dropped below minimums forced us to switch. Good starter solution for EU companies entering the US market, but be aware of the price premium and contractual requirements.
Pros: Allowed us to run payroll for our US subsidiary starting at a low number of employees, which was critical as a German company expanding to the US. Benefits integration worked well and saved us from managing multiple vendors.
Cons: Extremely expensive per employee. Software felt clunky and dated. Most critically, don't dip below their employee minimum.

TriNet is a holistic platform for all of our HR and payroll needs. It’s easy to use, secure, and overall reliable!
Pros: TriNet is an extremely reliable platform. My team and I utilize this for any information and processes related to payroll and HR mangament, as well as tax forms!
Cons: Nothing, TriNet has provided everything we need across the board to access our data related to payroll, tax information, and HR related data.
Anonymous User · Customer Marketing Manager · Information Technology and Services · December 16, 2025
Trinet was a bigger company. They didn’t want to spend time and effort for smaller start ups. Mergers are generally messy for their customers.
Pros: Trinet was good for HR and Payroll. Working with their staff. It’s time management system was quite reliable.
Cons: Trinet acquired my old vendor Zenefits then jacked up the price by 3X. Merger of the two was painful.
Rajesh S. · Owner · Education Management · December 14, 2025
We work with an excellent Account Representative who makes collaborating with TriNet easy and efficient. Communication is prompt—typically within a few hours when we need assistance—which makes a significant difference in our overall experience.
Pros: TriNet removes the burden of staying compliant with state employment laws and regulations. They manage all employer-related filings across the states where we have employees, and payroll is calculated, processed, and reported accurately without requiring hands-on involvement from our team. This automation gives us confidence that everything is handled correctly and on time.
Cons: Accessing certain reports can be challenging. Some reports are not readily available within the system and must be requested directly, which is not always obvious unless you already know they exist.
Jackie J. · Finance and People Operations · Computer Software · December 3, 2025
It served us well during our startup phase. I did find it increasingly difficult to use as we scaled.
Pros: Great product for smaller size companies. The implementation team was supportive and ongoing updates made the product better.
Cons: Reporting feels clunky hey, customization is limited and occasional system lags disrupt payroll runs.

TriNet was a system that I felt could've provided more value. It was mostly used for HRIS data and payroll and wasn't as great as expected.
Pros: I liked that everything was all on the home page and there was a chat feature that I used quite often.
Cons: It was a clunky system with not a whole lot of helpful features. It often left me wanting more. I hope they've made more updates since I used it in 2022 and 2023.
Meredith R. · Customer Success Manager · Financial Services · October 28, 2025
My overall experience with using TriNet is a great one. I use this daily and the fact that I can access my pay stubs easily is a Big PLUS. I'd definitely recommend TriNet to others.
Pros: I'd have to say that the one thing I like about TriNet is how user friendly it can be and the perks that they have.
Cons: There is only one small minute thing that was not a huge fan of is when i want to check my time and attendance for my hours I have to leave the app and be redirected to another one.

TriNet is very user friendly, easy to navigate and great for a small business. It is intuitive and somewhat customizable. I can't say it was a great value for money. For less costs, we could have switched to UKG. We ended up leaving them for ADP due to having multiple companies that we needed to manage that TriNet was just not capable of doing under one dashboard.
Pros: I used TriNet when it was still Zenefits. Overall, I think the software was very easy to use for payroll and employee pay, benefits administration, performance reporting and tracking, onboarding, and employee management. I will say, the program was easy to navigate, which allowed for a very minimal learning curve, which I appreciated.
Cons: I would not recommend TriNet if you have multiple companies that you need to manage within one system. This made payroll management and running reports quite the ordeal. I had to run the same report, in each company profile, and then combine the data. When you're doing this for 8 companies, it can be annoying. The other thing about TriNet was the payroll compliance issues. It would take a representative FOREVER to acknowledge receipt and then even longer for an answer. I had to stay on top of them constantly.
Amanda K. · Human Resources Director · Human Resources · October 20, 2025
Pros: I like how organized the software is and how easy it is to navigate through. I would highly recommend this software.
Cons: I do not any have dislikes or have a least like on this software. It’s very affordable and easy to use.

Trinet has good customer service. They have been able to help me when I call in with questions. Easy to use. Secure.
Pros: It's easy to use and allows me to go back in the history and pull reports of payroll. Trinet is the perfect most secure tool to use for payroll.
Cons: Trinet has been easy to use. Good customer service. Trinet is also very secure so I am never worried.

i think it is nice
Pros: i think it is so helpful and Clean and intuitive layout that makes navigation easy, even for first-time users
Cons: Sometimes the app feels a bit slow when loading documents and i Would love to see more customization
Ahmed Mohammed N. · freelancer · Program Development · July 26, 2025
Pros: Payroll processing, tax filing, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee relations all in one platform.
Cons: TriNet can be expensive, especially for small businesses. Costs are typically per employee per month or a percentage of payroll, which adds up.
Hussein S. · Project Manager · Information Technology and Services · July 18, 2025
Overall, TriNet is an excellent software program for Human Resources and helps provide value to employees.
Pros: TriNet is simple to use, and helps to organize information in a digestible format that is easy to share and maintain.
Cons: TriNet has a lot of value, but the functionality is simple and there are not many ways to customize what we need.
