My overall opinion is that it would be much more powerful if I truly knew how to use every aspect, how to use the report writer, if I knew how all the fields were used. But help documentation is spotty and using the Communities case support system is slow and can be painful.
Pros: All of the information you need from estimate to invoicing is available, if you know where to find it.
Cons: The help documentation is lacking. It seems to focus on how to fill in fields without explaining functionality.

ePS has served Prinetics very well. The program is very intuitive and can be tailored to the meet the many varied needs of print companies. If I run into an issue or need clarification I find technical support very responsive & supportive.
Pros: Ease of use, intuitive, good technical support
Cons: A less cluttered gui for less experienced new users

The training so far has been very good. Things seem very easy to produce. I like that you can see the customer side of the product so eaily.
Pros: Clear interface, similar to what I would expect in something like Illustrator.
Cons: Still some rough edges, things to be worked on
James H. · Prepress Supervisor · Biotechnology · November 25, 2024
Its a great production system that gives you all you need to get your job done quickly
Pros: Seems to run well. The interface is user friendly.
Cons: Sometimes the log in process gives issues and an error screen.

Everything was good when project started. When the installer was terminated everything came to stop.
Pros: Billing for Web print jobs were programed and completed by your installer. Works well.
Cons: Installer never completed Sheetfed press information so makes it impossible to do proper billing. You terminated the installer, so project was never completed to our satisfaction.

Our company uses most all of the system but we have not automated or used the add ons. We are relatively a small shop and do not use the schedule.
Pros: The connection of the data objects makes it easy to understand the structure
Cons: Lack of a best practices guide when setting up the system
John A. · Pace administrator · Printing · November 11, 2024

Dreadful. Quarter million dollars plus & 2.5 years to implement (still not launched), does not sync with our internal systems as we were told it would, slow customer service response times, inability to accommodate multi column data for variable template building, shameless hustling for additional billable work and training hours (while still collecting the outrageous monthly subscription fee for a product we can't use). The list goes on...
Pros: Nothing. There is nothing to like about this alleged "solution". It is absolutely worthless to us in it's current form.
Cons: Estimating is bulky and not intuitive. Templates are incredibly difficult and cumbersome to build. MIS & W2P do not communicate, resulting in prices variances between storefront and actual production price (customer irritant). Unacceptable.

Pace has allowed us to create a scalable single system of record for the multiple divisions within our company. In addition, it has provided us the platform for continuous automation and touchpoint reductions in our workflows.
Pros: The customization module truly makes this platform powerful and able to adapt to many business models.
Cons: Currently, the CRM module. But, I say this knowing that at it's core Pace is an MIS system - not a CRM. So, I am appreciative they have the module as it allows us to operate with a single system of record and not have to manage multiple platforms or integrations.
Courtney S. · COO · Printing · January 4, 2022
Pros: I like the extensive functionality it offers.
Cons: It's very complex and making standard customization, such as setting up/updating/inactivating estimating workflows and operations, options, codes, etc. It's not possible to confidently test changes because there is no way of knowing all the calculations, xpaths, settings, etc. that could be indirectly affected.

I speak only for my Wide Format dept. Our experience is not good at all.
Pros: I don't think there is much of anything I like about this software for our production purposes
Cons: I help manage the Wide Format department here at DCG ONE. PACE - as we are implementing it - is nearly impossible to use for our Production Team. There are confusing job tickets on an almost daily basis. These often result in misunderstanding and therefore late projects and/or re-work. I realize that some of this is likely how we implement PACE but the structure of the job tickets and order submission seems NOT comprehensive, confusing, and not user-friendly in a custom print environment.

Pros: Integration with DSF is an important feature for AlphaGraphics. Not always 100% foolproof, but much of the interaction is seamless and most useful. The connection with Inventory allowing customers access to their own stock items including stock balance figures is a winner. PACE allows a high degree of customisation which gave us a greater ability to apply the structure we needed to our workflows. It also facilitated the implementation of accurate production processes into the structure of the MIS.
Cons: We are missing more structured tie-ins with equipment vendors, allowing better integration of prepress and production workflows. This is something that is prevalent across all vendors, not just EFI. It feels like each vendor is determined that their method is the correct one and all others must conform to their standards, leaving customers with little option but to go it alone or forget about true integration.

It's a far more robust toolset than something like Quickbooks. It seems like a great option for smaller businesses that might be outgrowing simple options.
Pros: It seems like there are so many features that you could ever want. I like the flow of AR/AP. It seems to flow in a logical way. The next steps are always laid out in the menu. There are lots of ways to get where you want to go.
Cons: The features there are, are hidden behind a clunky interface that isn't very intuitive. The biggest example for this is how hovering over just different parts of the same thing (like an arrow) will give you different menus.
Heather C. · Accounts Payable · Printing · December 17, 2021
Good. Great people
Pros: API - We use is a lot to enrich the data in the system
Cons: Scheduling - It really has matured or developed much in the last several years.
Jeff S. · President · Printing · December 17, 2021
Pros: The software has all you need to run a small to medium size business.
Cons: The software is difficult to use and learn, not UI friendly.
Vic P. · VP Operations · Printing · December 16, 2021
The software helps us quote, plan and implement our work. It helps us bill and ties into accounting well. Unfortunately, like any software it has bugs and requires frequent updates requiring a costly maintenance contract.
Pros: It is custom tailored to the printing industry. It saves time in estimating by creating templates for estimates and estimate components. It links different parts of our business together i.e. accounting, job costing, estimating and production. It helps us see where we are making money where we are not making money. It helps us identify projects that suit our capabilities and projects that don't.
Cons: It requires at least one person to administer the software and should have two or three that are qualified to jump in if necessary. The software requires substantial set-up time. It is a major investment of time for key personnel. It may be more than a small company can manage.
Thomas B. · Estimator · Printing · December 16, 2021
Pros: Overall - better than good (but I rarely give out 10's in general). Support - Excellent Integrations - very good>excellent Order processing - good Inventory - mostly good. Raw material is fine. We did purchase Printstream for fulfillment. Estimating/quoting - very good. Thorough, therefore a bit complicated - for professional use only.
Cons: UOM management in inventory. Estimating not designed for label printing (but adaptable). We felt like we had to go to Printstream for better finished goods inventory and fulfillment.
Bill H. · Operations Manager · Printing · December 16, 2021
Pros: I like the interface. Inquiries reduce the number of rigid reports that are needed.
Cons: It seems that there are features missing that other ERP systems have. I come from manufacturing so the software I used was influenced by aerospace and automotive industry. I like dealing with support, but when something goes into dev review it falls into a black hold. I would like some updates.
Nick M. · Director of IT · Printing · December 16, 2021
Overall I liked working this sofrware. It's pretty simple and fast
Pros: EASY TO WORK TROUGH with. It has pretty simple, basic steps that makes it easier and faster to use .
Cons: TO MAKE CHANGES ON PO'S . For exapmle I have to change the ship to information each time. But, other than that everything else works good.
Jessica P. · receptionist · Warehousing · December 16, 2021
We have seen the benefits of having one system and have learned to work around many of the kinks and flaws in Pace.
Pros: I like that we are able to use it as an ERP system as opposed to multiple systems.
Cons: Reports: Many of the reports that open in Excel basically do just that: open in Excel. The data does not actually generate in Excel properly and it is a major pain to manipulate in a way that can actually be useful. Sorting: It is annoying that the reports cannot always be sorted alphabetically. Reassigning accounts: A salesman taking over a current customer cannot see the customer history. This is a major flaw that has never been addressed to my knowlege in over 30 versions.
Brad W. · Operations Manager · Printing · December 16, 2021
Pros: It has a lot of functionality. Its scalable as our business grows. It helps become a technology driven business.
Cons: Metrix has never worked well for us. Whilst its very powerful and advanced it can be complicated to use. I would welcome it being more user-friendly.
Robert C. · Director · Printing · December 16, 2021
I love pace. It is very robust and does not crash.
Pros: I love pace. It is very robust and does not crash.
Cons: If you need something from the EFI team is generally becomes an "enhancement" and can take months to be implemented.
Cathy J. · Director of Client Services · Printing · December 16, 2021
Over the years, the organization has been fabulous. However, the most recent series of management changes are clear and the overall service of the company has gone down. I can't believe I'm paying $40K a year in support and somehow need to go to a website to log the problem instead of simply jumping on the phone like I used to do. Furthermore, the lack of online training and education for this product is shameful.
Pros: Web based, easily integrates with other systems. Makes the selling, estimating and job ticketing process very easy.
Cons: The inventory management/fulfillment module is a complete joke. It is not intuitive and is generally insufficient for anyone to use commercially.
Joseph S. · President & CEO · Printing · December 16, 2021
They were a great company years ago when we bought and installed the product. I have not had any contact with them in over ten years except to make unused support payments.
Pros: Software is easy to use after installation. Flexible and easy to customize.
Cons: The support contract are expensive and probably not needed after installation.
john S. · VP · Printing · December 16, 2021
I am unimpressed and would switch products if we didn't invest in pace so much.
Pros: I really don't have anything to add in the pros column. They are several features that work but they are nothing extraordinary.
Cons: It doesn't work well with promotional products or wide format, pricing can be challenging, It's not easy for computer-illiterate people on our production floor for signing in and out of jobs, scheduling isn't as intuitive as it should be.
