Option 2 (slightly more detailed): Overall, I’ve had a good experience with Criteria. It offers a reliable and standardized way to evaluate candidates based on skills and abilities rather than just resumes. The platform is easy to use, though some assessments can be time-consuming. Despite that, it adds value to the hiring process.
Pros: What I liked most about Criteria is the variety and structure of its assessments. It allows for a more objective evaluation of candidates by focusing on real skills and competencies rather than just resumes. The platform is also straightforward to use and helps improve hiring decisions.
Cons: One downside of Criteria is that certain tests can feel lengthy or repetitive, and the instructions aren’t always as clear as they could be. This can sometimes make the process feel more tedious than necessary.

Our experience has been world class. Their tools have allowed us to address the incredible spike in volume that we have seen this year with barely a hiccup. We feel confident that the quality of our candidates has been consistently above average because of our partnership with Criteria. We are expanding our reach to our entire organization this year to have truly global assessment coverage.
Pros: Honestly, the automation is what sold me. My team is small and moving quickly - we don’t have the capacity for a process with a lot of manual touchpoints. With Criteria, once a candidate reaches a stage, the next steps happen automatically - assessments, progression, and rejections. It takes a lot off the team’s plate. More importantly, that time goes back into what matters — real conversations with candidates and stronger partnership with hiring managers. The automation is what allows the human part of our process to scale. And with a 90%+ completion rate, it’s clear the experience works for candidates too - it’s not just efficient, it’s fair and straightforward.

Cons: My one real frustration? Setting up the BARS in Interview Intelligence takes forever. Like, the concept is great - I love that we're anchoring evaluator ratings to actual behaviors so we get consistency across the team. But the setup is genuinely tedious, and for a tool that's supposed to make my process more efficient, the build time feels like it works against that promise a little. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's the thing I'd fix first if I had Criteria's product roadmap in front of me."
Sarah D. · Vice President, Recruiting · Information Technology and Services · April 3, 2026
Pros: The assessment results seem accurate and have allowed us extra insights in the interviewing process. The assessments are also easy to complete in about 10 minutes or less. I like that you can pay a flat rate for as many tests. The trial period was excellent to make this choice. I like you can customize different tracks for different jobs and have different standards of fit based on job family.
Cons: I think the flexibility to add more hard skills testing. Also, the pricing model increases about 17-20% YoY if you don't go for a 3 year contract.
Joanna T. · HR · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · April 2, 2026
It's been wonderful. We are able to utilize it every day, and our Managers love that they are able to have something besides a resume to get to know the candidate before their interview.
Pros: We love that we're able to "see a picture" of the candidate before they enter our building for an interview.
Cons: I think the reporting could be a little better, but it's not bad overall. I can't think of anything else that I do NOT like about Criteria. It's worked out great for us!

Pros: Good system to test potential candidates and make sure they are qualified for the job before makinf an offer

Victoria H. · HR Director · Insurance · January 10, 2026
My overall experience with Criteria has been highly satisfactory. Teaching the hiring managers about the benefits of assessments pre-hire has been a challenge but that is not the fault of Criteria.
Pros: The deep insights into candidate quantitative and qualitative strengths and weaknesses. This has significantly improved our hiring process.
Cons: Really nothing. I wish I had the bandwidth to take advantage of all the functions and look forward to when I can do so.
Lydia C. · Director of Human Resources · Hospitality · July 21, 2025
Angélica T. · Psicologa · Marketing and Advertising · April 30, 2025
I like it! It helps me out filtering candidates by evaluating their personality and knowledge
Pros: Amazing platform to send assessments and evaluate candidates
Cons: Sometime a send a link for a specific assessment and the candidate receives a different evaluation
Emmanuel G. · Recruitment Consultant · Human Resources · April 2, 2025
My experience with criteria was very good because I'm able to give back to the employees directly.
Pros: The ability to give credit to employees.
Cons: I think Criteria is an easy and friendly platform to use. There isn't anything i like the least yet.
Johnny C. · Operations manager · Airlines/Aviation · March 6, 2025
Criteria is our primary assessment platform and it has helped us hire folks who are ramping up quicker, are able to deliver more within the same period of time and are able to onboard the company practices way quicker.
Pros: Criteria provides a clear and unfiltered view of how the candidate thinks and acts in various situations. The analytical and logical assessments provide a direct and true view of the individuals capabilities. Given we are ops heavy, it is important to have folks who are quick, and agile... and criteria has been able to deliver on that need.
Cons: Nothing adverse to highlight, that has impacted our ability to hire the finest...
Gerald M. · Senior Vice President, People and Culture · Internet · March 4, 2025
Overall, experience is good and I think this will save us lots of time from hiring people that are not a fit!
Pros: Using it to better evaluate my candidates
Cons: I wish they gave a training on how to better analyze the data

$7a
Pros: Easy to setup and begin to use immediately! Accurate assessments that are easy to implement. Excellent service and response to questions
Cons: For some smaller companies it can be more money than they are willing to invest. Although it is definitely worth every penny you pay, for some smaller companies they have a hard time justifying.
Darryl T. · COO · Marketing and Advertising · March 3, 2025
Been using Criteria for the last 4 years daily in my organization. It is critical to our interviewing/screening process. Very user friendly - it has the capability to have you screen candidates in a variety of ways with the various assessments.
Pros: Easily incorporated with our ATS system and has a variety of assessments that meet our current recruitment needs to vet finalists for roles. Also, very easy to navigate and pull reports from the system.
Cons: I haven't run into any issues while using this product.
Vanessa C. · Sr. Talent Acquistion Partner · Hospital & Health Care · March 3, 2025
It's ok. I have used many ATS and criteria offers good tools and features. Having the assessments available helps a lot.
Pros: The variety of assessments and solutions
Cons: Writing notes is not pretty. It allows me to put in the info but no format. Communication between team members is nos good in the platform
Ariadna B. · Lead Recruiter · Accounting · March 3, 2025
My experience with Criteria has been very positive. The platform is efficient, reliable, and highly insightful for pre-employment testing. It has significantly improved our hiring process by helping us identify the best-fit candidates with data-backed results.
Pros: What I liked most about Criteria is its intuitive interface and seamless user experience. The wide range of pre-employment tests ensures that hiring decisions are data-driven and objective. The detailed analytics and reports provide valuable insights into candidates' abilities, making it easier to identify top talent.
Cons: One area for improvement is the customization of assessments. While the platform offers a great variety, more flexibility in tailoring tests to specific job roles would enhance its effectiveness. Additionally, test completion times can sometimes be longer than expected, which might affect candidate engagement.
Shaleen D. · HR generalist · Information Technology and Services · March 3, 2025
Overall satisfied and again easy to navigate. UI is superb
Pros: Easy to navigate for both user admin and applicants
Cons: Not much but was hoping we could utilize and integrate the onboarding part of it
Eva A. · HR Administrator · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 3, 2025
We've completely changed how we approaching hiring!
Pros: I really like that we're able to customize the package of questions even beyond the recommended set for a position.
Cons: There's really nothing I dislike. It's easy to view all of the testing and the tests appear to be high quality.
Heather N. · Vice President of Operations · Insurance · March 3, 2025
Pros: Easy to navigate and organize feedback. Simple to navigate
Cons: Slow to update feedback when entering it. Crashed a few times.
Kayla K. · Recruiter · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · March 3, 2025
2 hires, 2 successful employees, so far so good.
Pros: Simple to understand and sort the results.
Cons: I found it unclear what the test was like for the person taking it. Consider adding a button for the hiring manager to take the test themselves for proper context.
Patrick G. · Technical Director of Video Production · Higher Education · March 3, 2025
Pros: Screening candidates helps us to hire individuals who we know come prepared with the skills to be able to perform the essential duties of the role
Cons: An assessment can weed out candidates who do not meet the min qualifications, but does not represent a candidate overall
Wali S. · Talent Acquisition Specialist · Insurance · February 25, 2025
Pros: I like the detailed information it gives about a potential candidate the most.
Cons: There really weren't any negative cons with using Criteria, I loved the assessments and information it provided!
Cortney C. · Sales Associate · Retail · February 18, 2025
The platform is user-friendly, providing detailed results. The score range helps indicate where a candidate should fall for a specific role. Additionally, I have received positive feedback from candidates about the user-friendliness of the battery tests.
Pros: Criteria testing significantly improved our hiring process by providing insights that cannot be garnered through interviews alone. I contacted Criteria directly when I had questions about a specific result, and they were extremely knowledgeable and quick to assist.
Cons: The only thing that comes to mind is the Talent Signal. I believe that could be better defined.
Joann C. · Director of Operations · Law Practice · January 30, 2025
Criteria is easy to use and great at organizing the data from applicants. the support team is always available to assist and ready to work on any needs or issues that we may have.
Pros: The data organization that we get. the system is easy to follow and work with
Cons: As i continue to learn more on how to use the system, i may be able to comment on Cons.
Lizzeth S. · Staff Accountant · Accounting · January 29, 2025
We have used it for years and sometimes we stray away from the results. Those times we have strayed away have ended up poorly for us. Trust the data.
Pros: It has been accurate for us even when we have gone against it
Cons: You are bucketing people. It can be hard to capture someone in a short amount of time.
Margaret S. · Manager of Business Development · Marketing and Advertising · January 29, 2025
It is very easy to use and I like the reports.
Pros: I appreciate the candidate can have their results at the same time the employer does.
Cons: The timer on the assessments is a little frustrating.
