Before using Lever, we were relying on spreadsheets and a mix of disconnected tools to track candidates, which created a lot of noise and manual work. Lever solved the core problem of centralizing candidate data and hiring activity in 1 place, which immediately reduced coordination overhead. Having a single system made collaboration between recruiters and hiring managers much smoother, w/o constant back-and-forth or status updates. The built-in automations, particularly around follow-ups and routine tasks, removed a significant amount of admin work from the recruiting process. As a result, the team is more organized, spends less time managing processes, and more time on high-value work like candidate conversations and decision-making.
Pros: We use Lever as our ATS in a fast-moving, scaling environment where speed of setup and adoption were important. One of its biggest strengths is how clean and intuitive the interface is. Onboarding time was minimal, which mattered bc we needed to move quickly, and the initial setup didn’t require much external support. Lever became a core ops tool for us and is used daily. The customizable workflows and automations are particularly helpful when dealing with higher hiring volume, as they reduce manual coordination and help keep processes consistent across roles and teams. The LI integration works smoothly in practice, and the in-app support chat is useful for resolving small, tactical questions w/o slowing the team down. Overall, it provides enough structure and visibility to keep hiring on track without adding unnecessary complexity.
Cons: Customer support feels more reactive than proactive in our experience. Outside of renewal cycles, there is limited ongoing engagement, which makes the relationship feel transactional rather than advisory. Pricing can also be a constraint for smaller or earlier-stage teams. While the core product is strong, some advanced capabilities, particularly around reporting, come at an additional cost that may not be accessible to all teams, like ours. Finally, the latest analytics layout is difficult to use in practice. Getting to the data needed for day-to-day decision-making isn't always intuitive, and reporting requires more effort than expected unless you invest in higher-tier options.

My company uses Lever to post open job positions for internal and external applicants and for applications.
Pros: It's quite simple to use and the interface is very straightforward. There are filters that you can use to filter the job postings by location, department, work type, etc. The application form is easy to pre-fill by uploading a CV. We also use it for our internal referral program.
Cons: The interface is too simple and a bit bland. I would add more design on the page. Otherwise, it has all the main functionality.

Not good. Would not recommend to anyone. Never got this up and going and never could get anyone to respond.
Pros: Did not have any pros. Support was unresponsive and did not meet the terms and conditions of the agreement.
Cons: Never got up and running support never reach out with 4 support tickets. Integrations never worked. Sales rep promises were never met.

Lever provided our team with a great degree of communication, whether that was internally or externally, which played a crucial role in our recruitment processes.
Pros: Lever was very compatible with our teams outside of HR and recruiting, hiring managers were easy to collaborate with through Lever's features and interface. Overall, Lever was easy to use, even for those who were not trained on the platform.
Cons: Lever comes with some quirks with implementation, and there are certain features like filtering that I would like to see when considering the value for what you pay.

[sensitive content hidden] have been great to work with, making the transition as seamless as possible. They have given us consistent support and assistance in guiding us through the process, and customizing it to our needs.
Pros: Ease of use. Fairly intuitive. We are able to complete tasks quicker. Posting jobs has been very efficient and easy to track in one place.
Cons: It does not carry over resume and notes when adding a candidate from LinkedIn Recruiter to Lever ATS
Reva O. · Senior Recruiter · Defense & Space · July 11, 2025
Pros: Lever was a great introductory ATS for our company when we we smaller and growing, especially with a limited recruiting team.
Cons: Lever's functionality feels more limited than their competitors at this point. Compared to other ATS tools we're evaluating, the AI functionality is more limited, the native signature feature requires additional spend on DocuSign, and the integration with Rippling as an HRIS hasn't advanced over the years.
Sarah K. · People Operations Manager · Information Technology and Services · July 8, 2025
Support staff has been great, lightweight ATS that covers everything you want 1) Candidate and Job management, sourcing, integration with email/calendar, and sequencing emails
Pros: Ease of use, integrates well with scheduling/calendaring, candidate management, job posting integration to the site.
Cons: Reporting/Dashboards are trickier to learn. Still not quite there. The reporting functionality might be a bit too overdone. I'd think of ways to simplify it.
Evan P. · Recruiter · Financial Services · June 6, 2025
Pros: easy to use but has so many features, what i like the most is the LinkedIn lever connection
Cons: at this point I am satisfied with everything
Csilla S. · Recruitment Team Lead · Telecommunications · May 15, 2025
Very positive. Working with [sensitive content hidden] on the implementation of our new system was a great experience. He led the project with clarity, organization, and consistent support. [sensitive content hidden] kept everything on track, communicated effectively, and made sure the team felt informed and involved at every step. His calm, solutions-focused approach helped us navigate challenges smoothly, and his dedication played a big role in the successful rollout. I truly appreciated his leadership and would gladly work with him again.
Pros: User-friendly and easily organizes my recruitment process.
Cons: Inability to customize colors.
Genesis C. · Talent and Retention Manager · Mental Health Care · May 14, 2025
It is okay. I can review the feedback notes, send rejection emails from the system. I like that it integrates with Recruitbot which helps with scraping information from the web on candidates.
Pros: I like that is tit serves a repository of information and allows for you to easily archive your candidates
Cons: I do not like that it is a standalone and does not integrate with Paycor or Paycom. This causes duplicity with entries. I also do not like that you cannot include additional documents such as health benefits information along with the offer letters. It only allows the offer to go out
Tabatha H. · Director of Human Resources · Hospital & Health Care · May 8, 2025
Overall, the experience was okay. The platform did what we needed it to but in the end we wished for more features with the same simplicity.
Pros: Lever was simple for our IT team to set up and get integrated with our Outlook calendars and emails.
Cons: The site itself seemed a bit dated and lacked the customization that our team required when it came to scheduling.
Susan N. · Sr. HR Specialist · Automotive · May 2, 2025
It’s okay- looking back I would have just spent the extra money for greenhouse. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
Pros: It’s pretty customizable, functionality is good for recruiters.
Cons: Frequent bugs/glitchy, reporting dashboard could be better, can’t attach word docs to the req requests so it’s inconvenient to have to copy and paste everything in a small box.
Lainey H. · Manager, Talent Acquisition · E-Learning · April 1, 2025
My experience is from the interviewer perspective. the app does little more then display a resume and allow for feed back notes.
Pros: Lever is pretty straightforward to use. Its function is to display the resume of candidates for a job offer
Cons: The program in our usecase does very little from my view point. It would be easier if there was one application that would just do what the 10 individual ones do in the hiring process.
Michal P. · Software Engineer · Accounting · March 25, 2025
Happy with lever, does the job, UI could be snappier, faster.
Pros: Easy to use, integrates with LinkedIn, has permission system, respects GDPR
Cons: More features meaning is not as snappy as it could be (UI is getting slower)

Good, reliable solution for applicant tracking process. Priced for medium to large business and stays to be stable and reliable tool. Can be accompanied with standalone payrol solution, specifically to the location or relationship with contractors.
Pros: That is scalable corporate grade solution. Different providers of digital signature are supported. Stable work of application combined with reliable data storage. No errors experienced. Awesome dashboards and tools for performance rewiev and capabilities for continuous performance tracking since of sourcing, offer digital sign, onboarding and KPI tracking to hardware and policy documents assignments.
Cons: No solution for work force sourcing. That limits us for using it for construction industry and we are missing for access to contractors data bases. Above the average pricing. Time tracking needs attendance controls automation. Applicant resume parsing needs browser capabilities to be switched on. Good to have unified CV profile applicable to different ATS. Hard to migrate from previous ATS to Lever and needs specific mapping. Can have limits for using in offshore locations.
Andrii L. · Senior strategist · Industrial Automation · February 14, 2025
Very happy with the product and all the support received. Structured implementation plan. It was a pleasure working with Tom Marino.
Pros: Ease of Use and implementation. The help videos were very useful. Good UI
Cons: Some limitations in customization - final rating scale in feedback form. Salary structure in offer process is not easy to create. Had issues integrating with Linkedin . Limited time for implementation calls
shubha J. · Head - Talent Acquisition · Hospital & Health Care · February 14, 2025
Lever is a user friendly and transformative tool for recruiting teams. Its easy to manage everything on one place
Pros: Interface is simple and easy to navigate
Cons: Some addon notifications on req assignments to recruiters would be helpful to add and reporting dashboard has several confusing fields
Garima M. · Senior Manager Talent Acquisition · Information Technology and Services · February 7, 2025
Used as primary ATS for 2 years, and had a few complaints that couldn't be resolved. Although it did the trick generally, we ended up moving away.
Pros: Easy to use and generally intuitive. Functionality was well thought out.
Cons: Sometimes lacked the necessary functionality and integrations necessary to make it 100% effective.
James J. · Operations · Computer Software · December 27, 2024
The Implementation process has been great. [sensitive content hidden] has been a lot of help answering all of our questions
Pros: The interview scheduling capabilities. Being able to reach out to multiple candidates for availability and schedule them seamlessly.
Cons: Hiring managers seem to be able to schedule an interview and it would be nice to be able to prevent certain users from scheduling interviews. Also I would like to be able to Bold candidate names again after they have already been viewed in the pipeline.
Miguel M. · Sr. Coordinator, Resourcing · Oil & Energy · November 19, 2024
Pros: What we appreciated most about Lever is its flexibility in data and privacy management, adapting well to the specific requirements of different countries.
Cons: However, the unified pipeline presents challenges, as it forces us to include certain steps only relevant in specific regions. This setup requires HR to manually manage candidate movement through each stage, as delegating this to hiring managers could lead to confusion with steps unique to certain countries, potentially complicating the hiring process.
Ludovica V. · HR Business Partner for italy and internation business · Entertainment · November 5, 2024
Pros: The robust candidate management system, the referral management process, the interview scheduling, the overall ease of use of the system.
Cons: Job lists don't sync up with LinkedIn. Have to paste whole descriptions in the intro box. Not a big deal.
Jeremy S. · Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist · Marketing and Advertising · October 21, 2024
Overall, I have had a good experience with Lever, however, it leaves a lot to be desired compared to the other more modern Applicant Tracking Systems out there.
Pros: I like Lever because of its ease of use. It's also great for bulk candidate management, especially for those who handle volume roles. It also has integration with a lot of job boards which leads to a good flow of applicants.
Cons: The reporting module is not the greatest, we have had to integrate it with another app for reports. It also lacks a lot of automation, which can be a downside for busy recruiters.
Vallery O. · Talent Partner · Information Technology and Services · September 20, 2024
Great! Working with [sensitive content hidden] throughout implementation was an excellent experience. He was so helpful, has a strong knowledge base and very service oriented.
Pros: Ease of implementation, reporting, easy to use and train users.
Cons: One unified workflow...would like to be able to have different workflows based on department.
Dawn Z. · Director of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding · Hospital & Health Care · September 4, 2024
Overall, we are pleased with the software. It works for our needs much better than it's sister product, Jobvite.
Pros: The platform is incredibly easy and simple to use. Our hiring managers like the ease and simplicity of being able to review applicants efficiently (quickly). Also having the ability to pull a candidate into the candidate pool if the recruiter didn't include them.
Cons: Not ideal for very large corporations who need a more robust solution.
Melissa J. · Assistant General Counsel · Hospital & Health Care · September 2, 2024
Lever has been a fantastic addition to our team, revolutionizing the way we manage our recruitment process. Its user-friendly interface and intuitive design have made our daily tasks significantly easier. The dedicated customer support and implementation team have been invaluable in ensuring a smooth transition. We've particularly appreciated Lever's ability to streamline our workflow. Posting jobs across multiple platforms with a single click has saved us countless hours. The platform's comprehensive candidate management tools have enhanced our ability to track candidates efficiently, minimizing the risk of losing top talent. Lever's robust sourcing capabilities have been instrumental in building a strong talent pipeline. The analytics and reporting features provide us with invaluable insights, enabling data-driven decisions to optimize our recruitment strategy. Finally, Lever's seamless integration with our existing systems has significantly reduced manual work and increased efficiency.
Pros: Lever has been a game-changer for us. It's incredibly user-friendly and intuitive, making our daily tasks a breeze. The customer support and implementation team have been fantastic (especially Tom), guiding us through every step. We love how streamlined and efficient it's made our recruitment workflows. Plus, the analytics and reporting tools are top-notch, giving us valuable insights. It's clear that Lever was designed with the future of recruitment in mind.
Cons: While Lever is generally user-friendly, there’s a bit of a learning curve, especially when diving into the more advanced features and customizations.
