Snagit

Pros: The SnagIt Editor is my jam! I love that it automatically pops up and I can make edits to my screenshots easily.

Cons: It seems to crash quite frequently. I find myself needing to restart my computer at times when it will not open or it glitches.

Pros: $80

Cons: The video editing features are great for quick clips, but they are still fairly basic compared to dedicated video editing software. For more complex video production, you would still need another tool. The interface also has a lot of features, which can feel a bit overwhelming for new users at first.

Pros: I have this application on my personal computer and my work computer. I cannot go without it. the Screen capturing and the ability to add rectangles/circles/arrows to draw attention to webpages or other software is so helpful.

Cons: I don't use the video capture aspect since I use Camtasia if I need to edit videos. I wish there was a pin-favorite-stamps area that would be locked to the interface. for example a big red "x" that could be easily added to the screen shot.

Pros: Fantastic capturing tool for screen shots or even video clips. Has plenty of tools create meaningful and professional content. One key tool is ability to capture scrolling windows as an image. Able to create process documents directly within Snagit with their templates using captured images. Fairly easy to use software great functionality to suit so many needs. Great how it links to other TechSmith tools such as Camtasia. So you can capture a image with Snagit then send it to a open Camtasia project and drop right on your timeline.

Cons: Some little annoyances which could be better to further enhance UX. So if you add a something on your image, say a shape, you add and position the shape. But it doesn't remain selected and you need to re-select the shape to further edit i.e. colour. Be great if you could integrate into MS Teams on slightly older version of Snagit.

Pros: I can "snag" information or images from a webpage or other documents and send to someone else without sending the irrelevant parts of the webpage or document.

Cons: I wish that it had the ability to scroll down in order to include things further down that are not shown on the screen rather than being limited to just the current screen view.

Pros: I am a supervisor and need to teach and educate my staff on a daily basis. When I am explaining something it makes it so easy to take a quick snag of something to show them the visual of what I am talking about. Additionally I have had to make training videos and this platform makes that easy to do.

Cons: I do not like that you cannot merge two videos together. You need to go through the entire recording. Although you can pause it, it would be ideal to be able to merge several videos.

Pros: Clipboard for snips, highlighting function, snip editor, ease of use, speed of application

Cons: I truly can't even think of a single con for Snagit.

Cons: Schonmal ein Crash, aber sehr selten. Das Abo-Modell, aber das ist sicher Geschmackssache.

Pros: Ease of use and markup ability make Snagit the perfect utility for daily use in business.

Cons: Sometimes does not remember tool properties settings.

Pros: Snagit is super easy to use, especially to edit captures such as using the blur tool, selecting to cut/paste elements of the screenshot. This makes them more professional looking for use on websites etc. I also like the ability to capture screen recordings with voiceover.

Cons: I wish it were easy to edit video captures - at the moment it looks like you have to download their sister program, Camtasia. I'd just like to be able to use a blur tool in videos that I create (just short GIFs) to hide sensitive information but it doesn't seem like this is possible.

Pros: I use SnagIt almost every day for screenshots and flow diagrams

Cons: The latest updates have made it too complex. The settings got wonky.

Pros: Ease of use and available screen capture options within quick reach. My go-to for screen capture as a professional and for me personally. Using for over 20 years.

Cons: Sometimes the many features I can't remember or use because I forget they have them.

Pros: It's an affordable, lightweight, and easy-to-use tool to manipulate images. I use this for creating super fast mockups of small changes to web pages that I want to run an A/B test on. I also use it to record videos for my developers when I feel like I can explain myself better in a video than a written message.

Cons: There's no version history. Once I save an image, it's locked down. So if I want to change something later, I need to overwrite the most recent version. And the fonts are outdated and limited. Most of the time, I can't match the fonts that are on a webpage.

Pros: The old versions were great, but the new ones have some sort of bug in them and don't work

Cons: I can't get it to last more than a few captures before it stuffs up. And I have to reload the program. The capture goes into the editor as a thumbnail but does not go onto the main screen The help desk people a hopeless

Pros: Intuitive, simple, and very easy to use. Snagit has a very secure and easy-to-use interface that allows me to capture screen images easily, and its library of call-out boxes makes it easy to highlight items.

Cons: While the tool is simple to use, it has limitations in what it can do, and not everything is intuitive. For example, it can capture an entire website via a scrolling screen grab, but that takes a bit of thinking to accomplish, and the Reference/How To material does not describe all of its capabilities.

Pros: Einfache Bedienung, durchdachte Funktionen.

Cons: Nichts zu beanstanden, alle notwendigen Funktionen sind vorhanden.

Pros: Ease of use. Quick & readily available with the setting that allows for the widget.

Cons: Older captures have been difficult to manage; in the event of a system restore, the approach to retain these back-up files is not clean. I've lost many a capture.

Pros: Being able to record meetings and take screenshots of the presenter's screen has been a major improvement for our team when we perform walkthroughs.

Cons: With the screenshots, you are not able to increase the size of the picture, there is also a lag time when initiating screenshots and video. The video is not able to recognize when you last stop if you close the window.

Pros: easy to capture screens, rolling screens, video capture.

Cons: Limited number of screens before they move it to history, not very easy to be recalled from history

Pros: It works - mostly. The annotating is OK.

Cons: Large images and the "scroll" captures are buggy at best and take forever and then fail. Also cannot easily change an image type, for example when trying to capture a "WEBP image"

Pros: Easy to use, easy to learn and very stable.

Cons: No real weaknesses unless you think it's going to replace Photoshop.

Cons: Si bien los assets esta consignado en la cuenta normal, esta diferencia sustancialmente de la premium y finaliza al año. Espero que en algún se maneja igual como la suscripción de snagit.

Pros: Very easy to use and has some great features for capturing, editing and sharing screenshots or video.

Cons: The Windows snipping tool is usually all I need, so my only negative on Snagit is that I don't always find it's extra features necessary. But it is a great option if the snipping tool is insufficient.
