Especially for queueing simulation, it is the most efficient software I reviewed! The toolbar is user friendly!
Pros: Time saving, immediate visualization of the variables, shorten the time of analyzing prior decision making, especially for presentation to executive level!
Cons: The cost of training material, if the training material is for free, it would be more motivating to soread it in the supply chain ecosystem !

This is a very helpful tool that beats Excel in modeling dynamic systems. Interactions that affect system behavior in reality are easily captured.
Pros: It is very easy to get started and make useful models quickly. The visual dynamic display is great for communication.
Cons: Very advanced features are harder to implement. Basic programming knowledge will always help in any case.

My experience is only with introductory courses, and I’m thinking about implementing it in some of my classes at the industrial engineering level.
Pros: This simulator makes it possible to analyze different types of processes, services, and production to measure the key indicators and make decisions before carrying out any investment.
Cons: Even though it’s very intuitive, it still requires knowledge of how to use the software, and the licenses do involve an investment.

Amazing!! No words to describe it opened a new world to me so I'll start implementing simulations on my end
Pros: I really like the process... The examples presented where very detailed, I hope to get a chance to get a Demo to try it on my projects.
Cons: Not so sure, cause I loved the webinar and the explanations provided by [sensitive content hidden] was very clear... I hope to get the chance to get a Demo.

Simul8 is very easy to understand. I used simio and arena ten years ago and not used simulation since but this software is very easy for me to use considering I am a rusty simulation user.
Pros: The copy and paste function is very handy to cut time invested creating a simulation model. I want to learn more functions outside the demo seminar.
Cons: i have not seen any cons since I have only seen the demo trial from the seminar today. I hope the price is accessible.

Very good, great presentations. All the answers were very torough and show that the range for this is very big
Pros: Very complex, in a good way. This can be used for a lot of things to increase outputs in production and id like to learn more.
Cons: Would need individual training to set up. I find that once its set up its a great tool but to apply it to my area, i would need help

It has been positive, and as I've used it more, you learn just how capable the software is.
Pros: The software is very dynamic in terms of the types of problems you can solve with it. You can do a lot with the basic functionalities but the visual logic can open up even further potential.
Cons: It can be quite difficult to learn by one's self. The online help supplied by Simul8 is good but maybe more in-depth examples would be useful.

Overall experience is simply great, whole support of MA and PhD students for their thesis.
Pros: Quite easy to learn and understand the Simul8 environment. At the same time possibility to make advance complex models.
Cons: Everything was fine, no cons were identified.

Building models simulating the manufacturing plant environment inculing assembly lines and production models
Pros: The user friendly interface and to build the models quickly and intuitively
Cons: There is actually not a thing that I can say I do not like but maybe there could be flexibilities that two resources can be simultaneously assigned to a product in parallel two sided assembly lines

A powerful tool for process simulation. While the user interface may appear outdated compared to state-of-the-art options, this doesn’t reflect its robust capabilities. Initial training is essential, and at least 120 hours of practice are necessary to become reasonably proficient in performing reliable simulations of medium complexity
Pros: The functionality and capacity to replicate "real life scenarios" .
Cons: The number of hours required to become proficient with the tool is reasonable. Given the variety of options and scenarios available, the trade-off between output and effort is more than acceptable

Beyond expectations. It is easy to learn the basics and create simple simulations, yet the software has so much depth, there's virtually nothing that can not be built and simulated. The coaching sessions and all the support offered by Simul8 also helps to fully utilize the possibilities of the software.
Pros: Its versatility. We are working in a niche field with a lot of variables, yet we can still utilize Simul8 to its full extent to test real life scenarios.
Cons: The reporting could be further developed. Not that it is bad as it is, but as it is fully customizable, it takes time to build it. Building blocks or templates would help a lot.
Patrik T. · Application Specialist · Machinery · October 9, 2024
The course was super helpful to better understand the basic building blocks and all of their options.
Pros: simple to build quick simulations but has capability for more complex simulations
Cons: Some options are quite hidden and are hard to find.
Maximilian G. · Sales and Operations Manager · Pharmaceuticals · August 21, 2024
Pros: 1. Ability to visualize results, KPIs in Result Manager 2. Ability to export results easily 3. Ability to have Visual Logic code at one place 4. Built in plot features e.g. Utilization, Contents
Cons: 1. Hangs/Crashes a lot if the simulation input data is huge 2. Takes huge time loading (on every click) if simulation input data is huge 3. Visual logic needs experience (unlike java or other commonly used languages) 4. The resource-pool size value changes after optimisation experiment is run 5. Their is no direct way to plot utilization for activities that have replications (>0)
Pranav G. · Research Assistant · Hospital & Health Care · July 11, 2024
Pros: It has some good features such as importing/exporting data via Excel easily. It provides ready to use simulation results. Visual logic is perfectly helpful for interact the simulation as user wants.
Cons: The software always hangs while we're using/creating simulations. In addition, due to huge amount of data is imported to the software, it slogs on to process the data. The graphs display poor visualisations.

Completely happy. Blown away by the capabilities. Looking forward to further my project with the team.
Pros: Simul8 is the first simulation application I've used in my career and just wow! I'm completely blown out of the water. While still being in the early stages of production, this program has already solved multiple headaches.
Cons: My one and only gripe, I wish simul8 would auto update itself.
Zach J. · Planner · Defense & Space · July 2, 2024
- active weekly usage for the last 6 years - the team has done a great job improving the tool recently - keep adding more and better capabilities - drop-in sessions are great. keep them going! - increase the price of the product but don't raise by a lot since it is hard to convince management to keep allocating budget
Pros: - ease of use - used to be cheaper than most alternatives (which makes it easier to convince the management to allocate budget for it) - ability to use both coding (Visual Logic) and drag-drop
Cons: - charts and visualizations - sometimes unexplained bugs happen. rebuilding the model helps - recently raised prices. it is totally ok to raise the prices especially since the product got better recently. but be careful to not raise prices to the level of FlexSim and AnyLogic. In that price category, users might prefer FlexSim/AnyLogic over Simul8
Farid T. · Industrial Engineering Supervisor · Glass, Ceramics & Concrete · June 11, 2024
Very positive. The system is easy to use and the models I have created already (although on the simpler side) have allowed me to identify how to tackle complex problems.
Pros: Simul8 is quite an intuitive software where models of processes can be readily made and adequately detailed without prolonged training. The user interface means that the system can quickly be understood and interpreted to complete tasks of increased difficulties.
Cons: I was using the 2004 version which had little support in creating neat simulation models in the workspace, this often meant I had to spend time to create a clear simulation by dragging boxes and lines. I also found the labelling system not as effective as the codified attribute system in Witness, making it harder to change objects moving through the simulation.

The support provided is outstanding.[sensitive content hidden]was partnered with us. She was amazing. She helped us build something from scratch by outlining a structured approach, being collaborative, working through together and explaining things a we go. Fantastic support, great knowledge, ability to create and nice communication style in getting things done right.
Pros: The simplicity of the software and its capability. Need more time using software to get familiar with it. Like the
Cons: No issues to date. It is capable of doing what we need. Need more time using software. Basic input creation has a lot of options but it may help to have quick tip guidelines or scenario examples. Handover of model, in package provided it would help if support was provided here for a set period of time. A support service just to understand things better and possibly refine things in model.
John T. · Industrialization Principal Engineer · Medical Devices · May 14, 2024
A good experience overall but the support team are essential to enable one to get the most out of the product.
Pros: The basic building blocks are quite intuitive and simple scenarios easy to model. The Simul8 support team are excellent for help with more complex schemes.
Cons: The visual logig guidance assumes a degree of coding familiarity. Given it is such a powerful addition to a model I feel the introductory guidance on line could be better presented.
Justin R. · Regional Director · Civil Engineering · April 30, 2024
Enjoyable to use and making the simulation.
Pros: Support from team on getting started and support.
Cons: Training in the start up package should be longer.
Colin B. · M E · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · April 25, 2024
The simulate training should have included more hands on usage of building a system to use the tools.
Pros: The software was really powerful and a lot of functionality built in. The help function included a lot of helpful info.
Cons: The training would start several minutes late each day. We would be in a TEAMS waiting room with no info as to when or if the meeting would start. The meeting should have started on time each day.
Joseph G. · Engineer · Automotive · April 2, 2024
Their customer service and support are second to none. As a statistician I used to think SAS had the best service and support, but Simul8 tops them which I didn't think was possible.
Pros: Great tool and very powerful. Like everything there is a learning curve, but you can get good results very quickly and as your learning progresses, you can build even more insightful models.
Cons: Don't have any big dislikes. The graphics are not quite as elaborate as some other packages, but those packages are more expensive. The graphics quality does not detract from the results of the models.
Bill T. · Senior Statistician · Paper & Forest Products · March 26, 2024
Pros: Can set up effective simulations in which scenarios can be easily altered to show the supply and logistical constraints etc.
Cons: Navigation within the tool can be slightly difficult, as can designing dashboards on the tool
Jodh B. · Management Consultant · Defense & Space · March 22, 2024
Pros: It has a very fast learning curve. That is why it is possible from the outset to model first elementary systems and deepen one's skills over time.
Cons: At present, I see few difficulties for my purposes. I would increase its functionality in warehouse processes (picking, stocking, etc.).
