My overall experience with Stax was very positive. It was easy to use, reliable, and helpful. Will recommend to anyone
Pros: Stax made payments simple and fast, with great support, easy setup, and smooth day-to-day use. No complaints
Cons: Pricing felt high for smaller businesses, and some features took extra time to understand. at first.

Exceptional Customer Service and Support, easy platform, good merchant machine and online portal! I highly recommend them to all medical practices due to the high volume of cards this industry swipes.
Pros: I like that I do not recieve surprise fees! Stax is great, my monthly merchant charges have gone down from years past. The customer support is exceptional, someone is always available to answer and direct me with help. Even when I opened a ticket for a very specific question about integration into a new system I got a response within the hour! I fonly everyone worked that quickly.
Cons: No complaints about stax. For future might be nice to be able to integrate with other medical softwares because I would tell all of my chiro friends!

Pros: The customer service is excellent. The response time and communication is prompt and thorough and the rates are competitive!
Cons: The lack of accessibility to transactions in real time is a significant disadvantage with the dejavoo devices and device integration across the stax platform very cumbersome

Stax has a great support team if you have any questions or concerns. The website is easy to manage and I get an email every day telling me how much was deposited into my account.
Pros: Stax has saved me money by letting me charge the customer for using their credit cards and a low fee if they use debit cards.
Cons: The least thing I like about Stax is just navigating how to take out the Debit fees and the monthly fees out of the deposits daily.

Contacted Stax after I got a 20% reserve on Stripe, without warning or being able to contact a human being about it. Stax got me setup within 48 hours with a great fee structure and amazing payment capabilities.
Pros: Solid fee structure. Personal account manager/support. Ability to take ACH over the phone without micro-deposits. Setup & approved within 48 hours.
Cons: The UI on their payment portal is wonky. Most other processors have much much prettier UIS. Recurring payment features are also a bit wonky, but it works so whatever.

The ease of use has been very good on both the app and the desktop version. The interface might not be quite as clean as LawPay, but is fine.
Pros: The cost of Stax seemed to be the best of any companies that I research, at least for law firm accounts.
Cons: Initial sales quote comparison to LawPay seemed deceptive, insofar as monthly charge was not included until I asked for a revision.

Pros: Excellent customer service and communication. Easy process, support through set up and initiation of portals, simple transaction process, works well with our API and online website payments. The card reader is easy, simple and stress free for accepting payments on site.
Cons: The first card reader was defective forcing us to have to manually enter payments which was time consuming.

After one month of using Stax as our merchant account provider, I can confidently say it has exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. The value proposition is immediately apparent — the subscription-based pricing model has delivered noticeable savings on transaction fees compared to traditional percentage-based processors, and those savings add up quickly for a business processing regular volume. The website is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, making day-to-day management straightforward even for someone who isn't particularly tech-savvy. What has impressed me most, though, is the reporting suite — the dashboards and transaction reports are detailed, well-organized, and genuinely useful for understanding business performance at a glance. If you're evaluating merchant account options and haven't looked at Stax, I'd strongly encourage you to do so. One month in, I'm a very satisfied customer.
Pros: The quick next day funding to my account and low transaction fees. Very easy to use website and customer tools
Cons: I did a transaction late Friday, and did not receive payment until Monday. So no payments on Sundays it seems, but that could be because of my bank.

Over all I am pleased with the pricing, but it is less convenient than Square in many way. Customer service has been helpful and responds in a timely fashion.
Pros: I picked Stax because Square was increasing its prices, and I wanted to avoid passing more costs on to my customers.
Cons: It takes to long for yesterdays charges to make it to my bank account. Using Square, if it was charged by 8pm, it was deposited very early the next morning. The dashboard on the mobile app is not as user friendly or capable as I would like in checking daily, weekly charges. New payments using store credit cards is time consuming and cumbersome.

Working with Stax Payments has been very pleasant. The application and the reporting meet our needs.
Pros: Ease of Use & Financial Management: simple operations and clear control of finances for our small team.
Cons: No cons so far. Everything is working as promised, It's great overall. Highly satisfied. Thank you very much!

Great so far. The assistance to get the program started has been amazing. All the support has been to Pat
Pros: Payment processing is easy and flexible. Only paying the interchange and a nominal fee per transaction.
Cons: The monthly fee should be scaled down as we process more otherwise the system is great. It’s meeting all the expectations

It has been very smooth and streamlined. [sensitive content hidden] the sales rep that I worked with was great. Customer service has been great as well
Pros: I like the fact that there is just one set monthly fee. It takes the guess work out of trying to navigate credit card fees each month.
Cons: Nothing yet. This is our first month with then and I haven't found anything yet that I don't like. So far so good!

Since from transitioning from Clover to Stax two years ago, our company has saved a considerable amount in processing fees not to mention time saved from searching for past invoices. The reporting features and dash board is easy to use, support team is readily available (shout out to [sensitive content hidden]), and invoicing and payment plan features are extremely helpful. Highly recommend!
Pros: Transitioning to Stax was quite simple and easy to manage with a user friendly dashboard and available support. Other pluses include customer invoicing feature for online payment requests as well as setting up recurring payment plan options.
Cons: Occasional lag time with reporting delays, we had an issue with QBO syncing as well which resulted in duplicate invoices.

Great experience. Had such a good history with Stax, I’m not using it at my second office that recently opened
Pros: Stax is very easy to use. It also has simple billing and reasonable fees compared to other terminals
Cons: Not really much. It would’ve been nice if the online terminal was free to use as part of the subscription
Syeda K. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 28, 2026
It was a bit getting Stax working properly. However, I am very satisfied at this point and happy I am using Stax processing.
Pros: Customers spend more when they can pay by card instead of cash. Businesses that accept cards often see higher sales and larger purchases because customers aren’t limited by cash on hand. Credit cards also encourage impulse buying. Simply put: more payment options = more completed sales.
Cons: Customer service is very good but it some times takes a while to reach someone. Having said that I am happy with Stax customer service overall.
Frank M. · president · Furniture · February 26, 2026
Pros: Stax is incredibly user friendly and easy to learn. The payment processing service is cost effective, secure, and easily accessed online. The support we received from [sensitive content hidden] was phenomenal!
Cons: Occasionally the lowest tier support can be less than stellar. In that case, we request escalation and always get the help we need. Otherwise, we love Stax.
Rebecca B. · Administrative Assistant · Veterinary · February 26, 2026
Overall, my experience improved significantly once I was able to get assistance. However, the process of returning the extra terminal that was accidentally sent to me was more difficult than expected.
Pros: The best thing about Stax is how easy it is to operate. The interface is intuitive, and I didn’t need much time to figure things out.
Cons: While the platform is very easy to use, I was disappointed by how difficult it was to get in touch with someone over the phone. The lack of accessible phone support made resolving issues more frustrating than it should have been.
Bhargi p. · Accountant · Automotive · February 26, 2026
very good experience with customer service and bank deposit transfer. We have no issue in regard to deposits, all transactions are accounted for.
Pros: easy to use and navigate website. Just browsing through the fields, I was able to find the reports I need and the daily deposits I am looking for
Cons: I have to sign in to another website (Payments Insider) to print the monthly statement. The monthly statement is not available in the Stax portal.
Edgar B. · Controller · Retail · February 26, 2026
Pros: Lower fees Next day payment [sensitive content hidden] my CSR is fantastic Not overkill on the software functionality, but could be a little more sophisticated.
Cons: The POS Terminal leaves much to be desired. It constantly loses its WIFI connection even when WIFI is present and allowing several other pieces of equipment to function properly. I have had Comcast out to certify that everything is functioning correct on my end and I am on my second terminal in less than a month. Currently I am running on Bluetooth tethering to my phone to function. Extremely frustrating. I want to make this work, but I am almost out of patience.

Very difficult changing bank accouts Was upset about the situation called 10 times submitted paperwork 3 times and it took a full month to get it in order
Pros: Love the cost associated with monthly use. Stax is almost $2500 per year cheaper than many competitors.
Cons: Payments take to long. A Thursday sale does not get paid until the following monday. Other companies pay in 24 hours and on weekends.
Kim W. · Owner · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · February 25, 2026
Very good! The contracts upon set up process were very confusing and a lot of the fees didn't pertain specifically for what we would ever need. Beyond that everything has been good.
Pros: Credit card payments are very easy to process for any user. Love that we have access to see all payments that are processed in a user-friendly portal. Highly recommend Stax payment processing!
Cons: Portal access can't be set up for different locations by me (admin) and we have to reach out to a STAX rep to get this set up.
Brittney R. · Director of Revenue Cycle · Hospital & Health Care · February 25, 2026
Positive overall experience for sure. I'm already seeing 1K plus less in fees per month compared to last company
Pros: Very easy to setup and low fees compared to others. Alex was super helpful getting it all setup and easy to talk with
Cons: I have to do my PCI myself. They do send you a notification when it needs to be done and are available to help
Levi P. · Dr · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 25, 2026
Very satisfied and affordable processing company. It's easy to understand their fees and status of payments.
Pros: They are great with communicating with the business owner, they even helped with completing the PCI compliance forms.
Cons: No cons yet. The app and SimpleSwipe are extremely easy to use tools for payment processing. Would highly recommend
Joe G. · President · Construction · February 25, 2026
I’m happy with it. If the direct deposit occurred next business day morning. That’s my only real gripe.
Pros: I like the ease of set up. And that you can use multiple devices to run the dongle. It makes it easy.
Cons: I’m frustrated that deposits are not always next business day. Sometimes it happens next day others two days. Sometimes it’s there early in the morning others late in the afternoon.
