Really happy with it so far for the above three reasons, and excited to continue implementing (we're still in our first 6 months with Neon One).
Pros: Three things. First and foremost, Neon One's price model sets it apart from all the other CRMs we looked into, especially unlimited contacts and emails. Most CRM companies charge increasing rates as we add more contacts or send more emails, yet we're still a small nonprofit with a tiny budget, so Neon One's price model works best for us. Second, Neon One is powerful (lots of capabilities) and yet also quite intuitive, so we don't need to hire consultants to figure out how to use it. Third, as we're learning, as we implement Neon One CRM, their email support is very responsive, and helpful.
Cons: My only quibble is I wish Neon One's price structure/tiers weren't regressive. That is, as a small nonprofit with a tiny budget, we pay more for Neon One -- as a percentage of our budget -- than nonprofits with larger budgets. The price is reasonable, but nonetheless regressive.

I have had a great experience with neon from day one. They have been helpful to answer any questions and even provide learning sessions for one on one help.
Pros: The multiple communication tools in one program for various reasons from individual emails and text, to collecting donations.

Pros: It was easy to integrate with my excel spreadsheets. Uploading client data was easy. I was able to transition over to a new CRM effortlessly.
Cons: It doesn't work with my email (Google). I have to manually enter email conversations out side the platform.

Overall it has helped us to consolidate information about our donors and members which has been a great help.
Pros: I appreciate the robustness of the reporting available to us. I also appreciate the ease with which we are able to create and track memberships.
Cons: The event module is better suited for organizations who host a few smaller events but is inferior to other event platforms for larger, more frequent events.

Customer service has really imporovced lately, which is a huge help. Neon is reliable and easy to use.
Pros: It is easy to use and provides great bang for the buck. The customer service is great. Neon One Academy is so useful that you can teach yourself about anything you need to accomplish within the platform.
Cons: Ocassionally the reports or other functionality is limited, but I also understand that it works well for our size and budget.

Our organization has experienced rapid growth in the last two years. Our previous systems (read: random spreadsheets with different owners) could not keep up with the new demand so we started exploring CRM options. After reviewing about a dozen CRMs, Neon came out on top. No CRM is perfect but Neon is constantly working to improve their platform. Their team is always quick and courteous to respond when I have a question or encounter an issue. We're happy with our choice!
Pros: The user interface is easy to navigate, especially if you already know what you’re looking for. Overall, onboarding has been relatively straightforward for our team, and we were able to get started without much trouble. It would be helpful if their were more information buttons next to fields that link to how-to articles in case a user doesn't understand that field's purpose. It would save the time of looking for articles.
Cons: I wish I could send one-time invoices. Our members request invoices for dues payments or other miscellaneous items and I'm forced to use Stripe.

Definitely a positive experience with the company - I think they are doing a great thing making a CRM affordable for small nonprofits and they are very responsive. A moderate experience with the tool itself - it does A LOT which is amazing but it has its issues.
Pros: Neon CRM has everything all in one place! You can manage donations, memberships, pledges, volunteers, merchandise, email campaigns, text messaging, and events all in one platform which helps keep constituent profiles up to date and reduces import/export slog or time to add information to profiles. They also have a very helpful and responsive team and they listen to feedback which is great.
Cons: The menu structures are convoluted and Neon CRM lacks some functionality that other more focused donation management softwares (like Blackbaud) have available. These deficits span from the more strategic functionalities like built-in donor intelligence tools to help you assess capacity-to-give and accounting tools, to practical everyday functionality like an inability to add matched company gifts to existing constituent pledges or limitations with reports and forms. Neon is kind of a jack-of-all-trades so it makes sense it's not going to have the same depth as focused tools. BUT it is very affordable tool that does a lot if you are a small nonprofit.

So far it has been good. Customer support has been extremely helpful when we needed it, and the functionality of the CRM is really good. Reporting is a breeze - with many built-in reports and the ability to simply create new.
Pros: It's more affordable than what we were using, and it's able to handle our accounts, donations and events all in one place. I also appreciate the ability to better steward our donors, and the workflows available (our last CRM only allowed 2 workflows without an upgrade and more $$)
Cons: The data conversion was a challenge - we included the standard conversion, but it only allowed us to bring over 6 files - the way our former CRM exported things was MUCH more than 6 files, so we had to choose. I am also disappointed that there is no way to import relationships - our organization is a youth organization dating back over 60 years, so we have multiple generations of accounts and have to manually build the relationships (other than households).

Neon is a very good and useful CRM for all of the use cases our non-profit needs, it's unusual to get a system that manages memberships, events, fundraising, email campaigns etc. all in one place. It's quite easy to use and intuitive, apart from certain reporting challenges and clunkiness when setting up automations and workflows.
Pros: Neon is great for being able to manage all of our different use cases, including events, memberships, report building, etc. The customer service team is great and are very quick to respond when I have questions or need help with building on certain parts of our CRM. There has been a large number of updates recently and I feel that Neon are really working on improving any pain points. It's only getting better to use it. It's also very useful for managing, tracking and reporting on donor management, fundraising events and through direct campaigns or peer to peer on Neon Fundraise.
Cons: There are lots of steps which need to be completed for setting up things like events and emails, but they're not intuitive or located in the same place. E.g, sending out an event confirmation email for example requires you to set up an email in a completely different part of the system. I would also appreciate better capabilities for building live dashboards within the system and a way to build my reporting needs into the system.

Pros: I like most how easy it is to search for what I'm looking for, and use filters to see what I need to.
Cons: What I like least is the inability to select two assigned users to a single grant, as my team and I often work together on applications.
Julia K. · Development Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 1, 2026
We use it daily for donor management and communications. It does a lot of things, but not all of the things it does are done well.
Pros: I like that Neon CRM offers a wide range of services from the same platform. We use many of the services, like the letter generation and email service, daily.
Cons: Neon CRM doesn't integrate well with our events software, reporting is difficult and non-intuitive, and customer service is limited- as in they want you to pay for training, even if you have been a paying member for more than five years and haven't utilized their training.
Heidi L. · Executive Director · Fund-Raising · March 31, 2026
Excellent! The support we receive is quick efficient. The product is great and always updating with new tools.
Pros: I like the ease of the product. From the first day we started to now there has not been a time when it has been frustrating.
Cons: No mass batching in Neon. We do utilize the mass upload via sheet, but it would be nice to have something built into Neon like Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT. One other minor thing is not having an important field option for a query to get a correct data pull.
Elizabeth H. · Gift Administration Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 30, 2026
It has been to easy to work with. They have been very responsive when I have asked for help. I am not great with technology so it is hard to point a finger.
Pros: I love the ease of the fundraising support and the email campaigns. Everyone that I have interacted with has been very helpful from building our website to creating a fundraiser.
Cons: That is a hard question because I am not sure if something is hard to use or if I am not understanding how to do a specific task.
Courtney G. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 30, 2026
Neutral, Haven't had a chance so far to do a lot of work but am looking forward to learning once I have the time
Pros: So many opportunities and functionality. but have not had the time to actually get in to do everything.
Cons: Onboarding - so much training on what was going to happen and needed but then it didn't seem to work that way, so there's a lot of work to do.
Jennifer W. · Community Engagement and Operations Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 30, 2026
Pros: Neon CRM is a multi-functional tool that helps our organization organize large amounts of data: donor contacts, event registrants, email subscribers, and more.
Cons: Neon CRM is in a transitional moment between legacy and next generation updates that feels a bit clunky. I wish their product team would have more support in order for updates to roll out faster and with fewer glitches.
Danie W. · Communications Director · Arts and Crafts · March 30, 2026
Neon is a solid product. It provides a little more than we need which is great to know we can grow into the product. The support staff is very helpful.
Pros: We liked the general ease of use, and the ability to customize the fields that we needed to manage our volunteers and clients.
Cons: There were a lot of upgrades in the product at the time we were implementing most of the features. The training was a little difficult because things changed right after we would train on them.
Kate M. · Director Resource Development · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 30, 2026
Have been using it for almost 3 years for a non-profit professional organization as a way to communicate with and coordinate professional membership.
Pros: Value for the dollar, especially for the amount of features offered. I have looked into many CRMs and could not find another to match.
Cons: It has so many features it is hard to keep up with all the options that it has available and they are continually updating.
Lawrence P. · Board Member · Health, Wellness and Fitness · March 30, 2026
Overall, I have had a good experience with Neon CRM. It offers useful features for my role, has good customer service, offers helpful resources, and is continuously coming out with improvements for the platform.
Pros: I like the donor management platform component of the software, which allows me to track pledges, donations, and touchpoint communications with donors and partners.
Cons: The reporting feature, while it can produce helpful reports, can be convoluted and challenging to configure to get the data you want at times.

We use Neon CRM to manage donor relationships, track engagement, and support our fundraising campaigns. Once the system is set up, the automation and reporting features make it a powerful tool for nonprofit operations. The platform also includes strong security and permission settings through different user accounts, which helps protect sensitive donor information. That said, the initial setup required a significant investment of time for our organization. While the system provides many helpful features and solid value for money, the lack of a mobile app and challenges with duplicate management remain notable drawbacks. Overall, I would rate my experience with Neon CRM around a 7 out of 10.
Pros: Neon CRM has strong tools for donor management and organizing supporter information. The fundraising campaign features are particularly helpful because you can build larger campaigns and structure them with smaller subcampaigns underneath them. This makes it easier to set fundraising goals and track progress over time. The workflow automation is another highlight. It allows me to set notifications, such as reminders when installments might be expected, and to automatically place contacts into groups based on actions like attending events. This helps keep engagement organized without constant manual tracking. I also appreciate that the platform includes email campaign tools and customizable user accounts, which allow different team members to access and manage data appropriately. Overall, the platform provides good value for money considering the range of features available for nonprofits. It also has great security of data and customer support is timely.
Cons: The duplicate management tools could definitely be improved. In practice, the system sometimes flags contacts as duplicates simply because they share an address, such as people who work at the same organization. At the same time, it occasionally misses actual duplicates. It can also be frustrating that certain imports cannot be deleted once they are uploaded. Another major limitation is the lack of a reliable mobile app, which makes it difficult to manage donor information or check updates when away from a computer. Improvements in customer support documentation or troubleshooting around duplicate management would also be helpful.

It's been a reliable program to keep our donor database updated through the years. We went from keeping track of our donors in an Excel sheet to using Neon CRM, and it has helped us keep better track of our growing donor community.
Pros: The customer support team that onboarded us was truly amazing to work with. The database and reporting system is very easy to use.
Cons: Sometimes when I am setting up a new report, I can't get all the available columns that I might need in a report, but then I am able to find a workaround. Neon CRM is a robust system to work with, overall.
Julia L. · Administrative Consultant · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 5, 2026
we have been using Neon CRM since mid 2019 and it has come a long way. They are constantly adding features and listening to the needs of the clients. Most of what i know about Neon CRM is self taught in just clicking buttons and figuring it out and by watching the Neon Academy help demos. Overall, i only have good things to say
Pros: it is fairly easy to use and has most of the features we need. we have been working with a consultant who has helped us make better use of the product
Cons: some of the reporting is hard to get to pull what you are really after, though it has gotten way better
Malissa C. · Administrative Coordinator · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 3, 2026
Overall, Neon CRM is user-friendly and straightforward, although complex enough to host all of the different offerings we provide at the museum.
Pros: The features Neon provides allow our Non-Profit museum to thrive. I personally love the ease of access into accounts and class registrations.
Cons: Currently, the only thing I would like to see improve is the volunteer portal. I am making it work for our small scale volunteer program, but automated reminder messages and application approval emails would be incredibly helpful to our organization.
Morgan M. · Guest Relations and Membership Coordinator · Museums and Institutions · March 3, 2026
So far I have to say our experience has been really good. We get good support, they listen to what you need and make modifications, and they offer good training.
Pros: Neon CRM has it all. You can easily collect and query data across so many channels - events, donations, volunteers, newsletters, text, and more!
Cons: The payment/where the $$ came from reporting is not as customizable as you might like, but they do offer a lot of canned reports.
Neal S. · Volunteer Exec Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 28, 2026
My overall experience with NEON CRM has been positive. We're still learning how to utilize it to its full potential within our organizations needs.
Pros: We use the email campaigns function very regularly and I've been happy with the provided templates as well as options to customize and streamline. We are also loving the workflow component of NEON.
Cons: Entering donor data takes quite a few steps. The dashboard isn't very intuitive, it takes a little while to learn.
Emily L. · Communications Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 27, 2026
Our experience has been overall positive. It was very essential for my organization to hire a consultant to help us transition over to Neon since we have no internal IT capacity and it's hard to absorb the work of a member database transition while also still doing the regular work that is required. We worked with a Neon partner, Back Office Thinking, and they have been terrific.
Pros: I like Neon CRM's user interface. It is clean and intuitive for routine transactions. The monthly cost for my nonprofit organization is affordable and I love that it has integrated event management and email capability. We use it primarily for our membership database. We don't currently do a lot of fundraising campaigns, but I like that we have that capacity should we choose to use it.
Cons: There are a few things that I find inexplicable, such as the individuals within an organization, called a company in Neon, being in alphabetical order by first name (with no option for me to decide how I want them displayed). In that same area, the company contacts default view is all, rather than current. I would love to set the default to current and still be able to see former contacts at my option. Similarly, I would like to choose how many display as a default setting. These things seem small but cumulatively cost me time. On a separate note, I wish the credit card processing fees were lower.
