I have been working with the ClubExpress product for 6 years. For the most part, it is a good product for our needs. The biggest issue I have found is that custom pages cannot be modified on a tablet. I only take a tablet when I travel. Other than that issue, I am very happy that the tablet allows me to continue supporting our system when traveling.
Pros: It's ability to work on many different platforms with very little effort on our part is a very good feature. We are an HOA and 55% of our users use their phones, Apple and Android. 43% of our users are using desktops/laptops. The rest are on tablets. The only issue that we need to be aware of is designing a webpage that does not fit well on a phone. ClubExpress does help in that it allows us to have a Mobile and Desktop version of a webpage. We have only done this on a few pages, but it does make a better environment for all our residents.
Cons: ClubExpress was not designed for HOAs and HOAs are not its biggest customer segment, so we had to fit some of our needs into the structure they have for clubs. We have it working for us and ClubExpress has been willing to look at changes that may make it more usable for HOAs.

It's super easy to use for all membership needs. It's a no-brainer.
Pros: I love that I can manage both the front and back end of the business all from the same platform.

To be really forthright, the assistance is adequate. If I have a problem, I can send them an email and have an answer or a solution within a few hours. There's a slight left brain/right brain shift in thinking required to modify the way things operate, but it's not too difficult once you get into the swing of things.
Pros: In ClubExpress, the Control Panel serves as the portal to the program's inner workings, and it conceals an astonishing array of features. Every piece of information that you enter into the Club Express windows grants you more authority and influence over your organization, whether it be a club, a league, or an interest group. It is similar to a massive relational database.
Cons: There's a lot of bureaucracy that makes everything tough to use. We've had to fork over more money in places where we've run into the immovable barrier. The website's features are clumsy at best.

Edjare A. · Consultant · Research · January 8, 2023
Very good at tracking membership data and trends.
Pros: The info being immediately available across the platform is very helpful.
Cons: Some of the data entry is very clunky, recording cash payments, having to use PayPal for credit card purchases, etc.
Jerry S. · Secretary · Non-Profit Organization Management · November 3, 2022
Pros: Its has several option and that can help to make your own choice. Its totaly management material and have to learn it fast and then it can be usable in many categories in event mangement or traing programe.
Cons: It has many function that is tough if you not knowing about it. I must say not easy to operate. In some case like emailing, front changed in some cases, so learn about it and then use it.

Alright
Pros: Customer service We Inherited system from prior bar leadership.
Cons: Difficult to update by admin And difficult to train for new leadership members.
Jessy L. · Atyorney · Law Practice · September 28, 2022
Excellent experience. They were very helpful with the initial setup and the software is intuitive.
Pros: Managing membership and events is very easy
Cons: A $500 cost to integrate with Quickbooks Online. I integrated the bank account with no charge.
Alan F. · Board Treasurer · Museums and Institutions · September 25, 2022
Pros: The software is easy to use unless you are a computer novice. Anyone with moderate technical ability can set up and manage the website based on this framework. Unlike Wordpress or Drupal CMS, it is a closed system which is a strength and weakness. The strength is that a mistake will not take the website down. The weakness is that if you need a feature not supported by the modules, you cannot implement it.
Cons: Some features are inflexible and cannot be changed. Some examples: If a non-member fills in the Ad-Hoc form, they must fill in the fields that do not apply such as Organization and Title. Events do not support entering latitude/longitude under an event location which is a problem when the parking location is far from the street address of the building. When the event organizer wants to set a deadline for registration, everyone with coordinator access can still register after the deadline. When the person registering uses the browser's back and forward buttons instead of the registration wizard's next and previous buttons, the fee is $0 instead of the correct amount. The only way to fix it is to cancel their registration and have them re-register properly. We want to monitor who is downloading the training documents. Club Express does not support adding analytics code to measure it.

Pretty good until change of management -- I have emails that are separate for sign up and payment on new members of school nursing organization -- missing the payment email notification. Also, 'renewing members' not notated on payment notification email .... pretty confusing at this time. I will have to spend a lot more time figuring this out and time is a premium. Also - unable to make changes on sub-accounts when a mistake is made ... also confusing.
Pros: Customer Service is very good. Most pages are navigated fairly easily.
Cons: Changed formatting for sending notification regarding dues collection

Membership management
Pros: Timed membership reminders-tracking of membership lists
Cons: Not much-we are happy with the product and will continue to use it.
Dennis M. · Board member · Maritime · September 15, 2022
In addition to using the system for our club's membership and event programs, we have been able to vastly improve our emailings.
Pros: The Club Express platform is great for our organization. We needed something that would allow people of varying technical abilities to come in and use the system. Many of the users have little web programming experience. Club Express is somewhat intuitive to use.
Cons: As we become more adept at using Club Express we are frustrated that it is hard to do something without extensive HTML programming experience. What we have gotten so far is great, we just want more.
Bob M. · Webmaster · Civic & Social Organization · September 13, 2022
It has been a game changer for the club.
Pros: Automation of many functions we had many people doing manually on paper.
Cons: The struggle to teach others to use it. Many not computer savvy and not all modules are easy to navigate. Text editing is clunky-as is web design.
Anonymous User · IT clinical analysts · Hospital & Health Care · September 13, 2022
Overall, I really like using it! It has simplified the process of going paperless!
Pros: I appreciate the ease of navigating and the wonderful membership directory. You can search for a member by last or first name, by phone number, etc.
Cons: We have trouble with some of the expiration dates.
Pat T. · 3rd VP, Membership · Civic & Social Organization · September 13, 2022
ClubExpress has been a great improvement for our club for both our members and those of us who manage the club. It replaced two systems, one home grown, and one commercial and has reduced manual processing considerably. Our Website looks great and our Ride Calendar is so much easier for our members to navigate and use. In addition, the team at ClubExpress has been a joy to work with. They have been responsive and helpful in every interaction.
Pros: ClubExpress is very easy for our members to use. The event calendar (our Ride Calendar) is intuitive and registering for Events (Rides) is very simple. The Membership Directory is fantastic as is the number of privacy options each member has to determine what information to make available on the Directory. The Communications options make it easy to communicate with the full membership, or any defined subset of the membership. Accepting payments is easy with a Merchant Account. There are numerous customizable system notifications that will alert users and administrators of important items such as registration for an event, event cancellation, payment receipt, payment due, etc. The system has robust support for membership options and membership renewals. Overall the feature set is very robust.
Cons: $89
Jack A. · Ride Director · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 12, 2022
Overall it's a good product and very helpful for the small clubs like QTC. We're very happy to have it and use it daily. Can't imagine we don't use an online tool like ClubExpress for managing the club affaires.
Pros: Easy to use for members. Keep all data in the same place. Great tools to communicate with members via notifications/emails, etc.
Cons: Can't easily remove a past member's info from the database. Multiple steps or confusing steps to delete a name from the database. System automatic messaging process. Very confusing as to Who/When/How will get the messages
Helen M. · Membership Director · Sports · September 12, 2022
I took this site over from someone else. Not sure I would have selected this for our club, but it basically works and our needs are simple.
Pros: It's easy to setup basic websites, forums and membership stuff.
Cons: Editing existing links isn't easy and the document library is a bit confusing. Sometimes the on-line help doesn't fully explain how to set things up.
Andrew R. · Webmaster · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 12, 2022
It meets our needs, informing members of upcoming events and the details, tracks participants, payments and communicate club information.
Pros: It is easy for members to use, they can check for available rides with the basic information they need to make a choice.
Cons: I find it difficult to customize, I have made progress but there are more things I would like to do. It seems to be on a base template which itself can't be altered, although some of the content area can be customized.
Conley B. · Webmaster · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 12, 2022
Great improvement over what we had. We previously had 6 different websites that is now handled by one
Pros: The overall integration of everything into one.
Cons: Event calendar is critical to us and is somewhat complicated
Malachy O. · Webmaster · Sports · September 12, 2022
I rely on ClubExpress reports for membership. It is adequate, but could be easily improved.
Pros: I like that it includes the dates members join/renew.
Cons: What I like least could be easily remedied: Separate renewals from new members Include new members emails when you list their names
Claralyn P. · Vice President Membership · Events Services · September 11, 2022
Storefront and events
Pros: Even though not used much, like being able to view HTML code
Cons: The tools available to create communications, web lines, etc are not always in synch. The Elements and the Element Style are not easy to manage. Also, would like capability of doing photo shop type creations.
Julie B. · President · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 10, 2022
Pros: We use it because it’s part of the Virtual Village nonprofit we’re part of.
Cons: Trying to update our website is so frustrating and clunky that I often choose to leave it alone. I’m not a programmer, but I’ve used different web page building software, so I’m not a novice and can usually figure things out. Reporting is not straightforward and it’s difficult to filter for specific criteria.
Barb P. · Board Secretary · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 8, 2022
The main feature that was responsible for choosing this software was the connection to the state and national organization. No more do we have to send them constant updates to their data; and now they can take their share of the members' dues automatically rather than sending us quarterly billings.
Pros: I was intimidated to have to learn a new system, as were many of the members in my age group. We thought we were too old to take it on. But once it was up and running, it was really a pleasure to use. So many features that we'd never had access to with the old methods of a list of members on Excel!
Cons: We were rather proud of our "homemade" website and were stubborn about having to change it's look and feel. But it didn't do that much for membership growth, or event planning, or helping chairs of various committees connect with new members who might be interested in their activities. Now the committee chairs have access to every member who might want to help--even someone who just joined!
Lynn C. · Membership Co-chair · Civic & Social Organization · September 8, 2022
They are all about jamming in features with little thought about design and functionality. There needs to be a [SENSITIVE CONTENT] at CE. You have lost customers to Helpful Village because of the difficulty in using the software, and HV costs much more from what I understand and offers fewer features. Read that sentence again... HV costs more and offers fewer features, but people make the switch because of the difficulty in using CE.
Pros: It has A LOT of features, and support staff is usually responsive.
Cons: There are really too many features and few of them work intuitively. We are an organization that works with older adults and we asked CE to increase font sizes across the platform, which was done in some areas and not in others. For years I've asked CE to get rid of the "save twice" issue when adding Secondary members. They have ignored my request for years and I've wasted massive time explaining this same glitch to our members.
Travis M. · Director of Operations · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 7, 2022
One word: unpleasant. I avoid using it as much as possible.
Pros: I don't like anything about it all. It's unwieldy.
Cons: Ease of use is my biggest complaint - it is so user unfriendly. It's nigh impossible to format a page properly - copy and paste screws up the formatting and there's no way to fix it. I was looking at a member's subscription status and suggested creating an invoice for them since they couldn't log in to pay their dues. I kept backing out of the transaction, or at least I thought I was, until I was stuck with three invoices I couldn't get rid of. I could not comprehend how the system could create an invoice when I had backed out of the transaction halfway through it, and if there's one thing I can't stand, it's messed up financial transactions. A prompt asking if I was sure I wanted to quit the transaction would have been real nice.
