Brightspace

Pros: Brightspace was a simple tool to use for course management when completing online courses. The courses were clear and detailed.

Cons: Brightspace had some bugs and functioning issues around discussion threads and boards. When going to post some threads would not allow you to respond due to and error.

Pros: I liked how it is able to be used not just for management but also in the eduction space for schools

Cons: It is a little wonky for programming wise, inconsistent with how it manages documents and assignments

Pros: The learning modules were well put together and clearly conveyed the information and knowledge that was important for each module. It was also easy to track and see what was or wasn’t completed.

Cons: It seemed like it was glitchy at times, my log in occasionally needed to be updated more than it seemed like it should because my credentials weren’t recognized. However that may have been more of an issue with our HR administrator and not actually any issue on the part of Brightspace.

Pros: Brightspace is a great tool for advancing online learning. It offers great value and has very good customer support.

Cons: Brightspace can be a little clunky and laggy at times. I have also noticed that sometimes it will not fully load causing you to have to manually refresh.

Pros: I like that D2L is a centralized place to keep all my courses and I can switch between courses very quickly. Anything posted on D2L by my professor can be seen pretty quickly. The quizzes I take on D2L are also in a good format

Cons: Its not for the website but the app does not show number grades or all the different days where the things are posted.

Pros: There is nothing that I like about Brightspace. It is poorly designed, non-inuitive, and a general mess to get anything done.

Cons: D2L Brightspace is the worst LMS that I have ever used. As an instructor it is not intuitive. Everything I need to do takes way too long, too many clicks and then it makes such a mess on the student end of things because it is full of bugs and no one at D2L cares. There is no reason why in 2025 I would need to contact our BS administrator every week for help. Their Help manuals make no sense and use a word-salad of vocabulary to describe something any normal person can say in 3 words. It is like they are desperately trying to sound smart; or they are so out of touch with the real world that they don't care how confusing and obtuse it all is. I would say to anyone considering using it, don't.

Pros: Brightspace makes my life easier as a student. Everything I need for my class is right there. It is very easy to navigate.

Cons: Sometimes when you need a book like Connect, it is difficult to load the book. Also logs you out after inactivity.

Pros: When used well it is great to have everything I need all in one place, course readings, assignments and lecture content is easily accessible

Cons: The bar along the top takes up so much space on IOS that it is difficult to read PDFs, I wish this was a feature I could toggle on and off.

Pros: Easy for students to learn how to use and calendar feature is also really helpful for keeping track of upcoming deadlines and events.

Cons: The appearance isn't very sleek. Sometimes the layout can be confusing at times. everything can feels a bit scattered.

Pros: Very easy to navigate classes and learn without combatting technology

Cons: Seemed a little outdated for some other classes I have taken

Pros: Brightspace was useful tool while I was in college

Cons: It was difficult to navigate while I was trying to do easy tasks on the app

Pros: Nothing , hard to find anything good about this platform

Cons: Everything . Such time consuming platform. Have used many but this is by far the worst most time consuming one. It does not make my already busy schedule less busy, too many clicks and not well through.

Pros: It's easy to add content and grade. Organization of a course is logical, and it doesn't require a lot of training to use, whether from an instructor or student standpoint.

Cons: Zeros are entered automatically for quiz and test questions that must be manually graded, which causes my students to stress at their initial grades. Keeping the initial grade hidden until those questions can be addressed would be nice.

Pros: The ease of use.. it was so simple... Everything was in good placement too

Cons: It was hard to get back toy college page

Pros: Very user friendly, easy to figure out on your own

Cons: Upgraded visual platform wasn't as user friendly as the previous version

Pros: So user friendly, easy to navigate, aesthetic but also functionally designed

Cons: Email system is a little archaic, could be changed to a chat system

Pros: Using the program means you don't have to re-invent the wheel. It's a great and well-designed educational program that I use as a university prof.

Cons: There are a few little things such as color coding for certain assignments that I still don't fully understand. But it's not critical.

Pros: I like that you can attend classes on your phone or on your computer using brightspace.

Cons: Viewing the instructor, power point , and the chat is not possible. You can only do either the chat view slides or the teacher.

Pros: D2L is always looking ahead and improving and adding new features

Cons: Some features have a few got ya's such as not being able to manage due dates in discussions

Pros: I enjoy the way in which the content or each class is organized.

Cons: I am not a fan of the amount of email notifications sent by Brightspace (discussions, announcements, etc.). If you do not want to receive any of these notifications, you have to unsubscribe from each thread. It is timely and clutters the inbox.

Pros: Bright space is easy to use. I can easily find where my work is and when it needs to be done.

Cons: Sometimes, things can get lost but this is usually a teacher error.

Pros: I like this LMS because it gives us the necessary functions to manage online learning. I also really liked the user interface and being able to create content and grade intuitively.

Cons: Everything is going well except the analysis which usually gives some problems.
