Overall doxy.me has been wonderful to use. They're still my top choice as a telehealth counselor, between the security they provide, their cost, and the sheer quality of their product.
Pros: Doxy.me is an AMAZING product with features that put it at the front of the field. I'm able to create a stable link for patient use, preview my camera/mic/sound, see when patients log in for session, and start session, all from one screen. They've recently implemented options for billing and payments, as well. With various plans doxy.me creates amazing options for the price, and their customer service is responsive and helpful if you encounter any bugs. If you've ever used any other telehealth video platform there's almost no learning curve transitioning to doxy.me.
Cons: It would be helpful if there were an automated email of some sort sent to providers who use doxy when they're down, or expect to be down. I recommend having a stable second option you can quickly send patients as needed. Doxy isn't down often, but when it is, it's usually a surprise.

Ive enjoyed using it but I am unable to use it consistenly (with all clients) because of the tech issues mentioned above. Not worth paying for but the free version is good enough for certain purposes.
Pros: HIPPA compliance. Ease of logging in for clients and provider. Having your own provider URL (no portal creation necessary for clients). Simplicity of the interface.

Cons: High cost to purchase additional features like screen sharing. Often has an echo when clients speak. Poor connections, cutting out, freezing, needing to restart calls to help mitigate that.

I love using it. The quality is great, it's reliable, and I don't have to worry about staying connected.
Pros: I love how the camera will shut down instead of lagging when connection is poor. Wonderful idea! I don't worry about losing important details just because I am having technical issues.
Cons: There's nothing I don't like. I use doxy.me as a backup for the companies that want me to use other sites.

I have been using Doxy.Me since it launched in 2013. I began searching for HIPAA comliant formats that were easy to be utilized by the patients, gave them the link in an email or text. Doxy.me hit all the parameters I was looking for.
Pros: I like Doxy.Me for its simplicity for my patients. There is no learning curve either for clinicians or patients.
Cons: The only con is the cost of paid subscription, however it's cheaper than most. However, I did use the Clinic version for several months while I was in private practice. It was worth the peace of mind.

Very positive experience. It looks very professional. Love the waiting room, and the fact that it is free.
Pros: Very easy to use. You can have your practice name as part of the link to log in. Keeps track of sessions and time spent in each.
Cons: Connection sometimes fail if client is not using a laptop and/or reliable internet connection. Sometimes it freezes.

The company has been so great to work with. The folks who started out with my organization in the beginning during the pandemic were incredibly caring and attentive. That relationship has continued to this day.
Pros: This product is easy to use and within 2 weeks I was able to learn how to use it myself and create content to educate my entire health center and get us up and attending to patients during the pandemic.
Cons: At first when the camera or microphone didn't work, I had no idea why and had to learn how to troubleshoot things like that, but this is part of all platforms.

Convenient but not like Zoom. Quality is not nearly the same. Is HIPAA Compliant which is essential
Pros: The price and availability. Easy to use. fairly reliable. Easy to report Problems. Responsive to complaints.
Cons: Can be very glitchy with some people and quality varies greatly. Voice is sometimes very very choppy

I was intimidated by the idea of having to do telehealth but Doxy is the best I could have hoped for.
Pros: Having the same four word link each time and being able to get multiple clients on at the same time even if they need to be separate geographically.
Cons: recent difficulty with poor connections if client is on the mobile phone. Telephone calls in to the client disrupt the connection.

I have used Doxy since the pandemic (5 years) and cannot understand why medical providers would use something else. I believe that having to have an account and the meeting number nonsense gets in the way of things.
Pros: The ease of use for both myself and clients. I use doxy not only for telehealth appointments but it's what I use exclusively for consultations with potential new clients. I use the tier that has no charge and it's been more than enough for my needs.
Cons: I can't think of anything that I would indicate that I don't like. There's nothing that I've had happen in using doxy that was negative. Back in 2020-2021 there were occasionally connection problems, but I did not attribute that to doxy's service.

Overall it suits me and my clients very well! My clients actually feel more secure when I connect with them via Doxy.
Pros: I like that Doxy.me is reliable, private and secure, and easy to use. It's HIPPA compliant. Doxy.me is a great value for the price! Customer support is very helpful!
Cons: Nothing I can think of right now. Over time the ease of use has become better and better. Support videos have been helpful in this regard.

i love doxy and have been using it every time i work for the last 5 years! my practice is completely telehealth
Pros: i have been using doxy.me since around 2018, and it has been so helpful. the free version meets my needs, so it feels like its a huge asset to my business. whenever i have needed help, customer support was super quick to respond to me. it is so intuitive, so the learning curve was low, which helped when the pandemic happened, and all of my clients had to move to telehealth.
Cons: i use it daily, and its super helpful. sometimes it giltches, and everytime i start a call there is feedback that takes about 30 seconds to even out.

I've been using Doxy.me for probably 15 years. It's the first telehealth platform I started with, so I'm a bit biased in that regard. Having said that, however, whenever I have needed answers to questions, or had any problems with connectivity, etc., the customer support is outstanding, timely responsivieness, and accurate. I started out using it for free, but now I pay for the added features that are worth it.
Pros: It is HIPAA compliant and secure end to end. It's very easy to use and has a lot of features. It's hard to say what I like most because all the features are approprite and easy to use. I guess ease of use is the main thing, and it's not expensive.
Cons: Well, a lot has changed and new functionality has been added. I can see groups of people at once now, I can upload files, and a whole lot of other features I may or may not use, but I'm glad they're there.

As a solo practitioner, I was looking for something that would not add to my monthly expenses, would be consistently reliable for clients, and would give me a static link. Doxy.me has saved me many times when my [other] company-specific EHR video platform would have serious issues in sound sycing. I would inform my clients to meet me at doxy.me. Doxy.me has now become my main video option for clients and it is absolutely free!
Pros: Doxy.me has been fabulously reliable, incredibly userfriendly, and an incredible deal! I love Doxy.me for seeing my mental health clients. I love that my company name is in the static link I can give any clients. The interface is consistently great for video calls.
Cons: NOTHING! I get a free, HIPAA-compliant service to use whenever I need. Okay, honestly, the worst thing I could say is that sometimes clients can hear themselves speak for the first 5 seconds of a video call. It has always gone away quickly.

Being not that tech savvy, at first I was apprehensive to try doxy.me; however, I found it to be VERY easy to use and very user friendly. I've been highly satisfied with Doxy.me.
Pros: I've been using doxy.me for a number of years now in my solo private practice. A colleague recommended it to me, and since I don't have as much volume as a group practice, this is a perfect solution as I don't pay anything for it, it is VERY user friendly, and meets HIPAA requirements as well.
Cons: Occasionally there's a little tech difficulties; that is mostly due to connection issues on the part of my client or myself, and usually if we close the session and restart, it gets cleared up.
Roberta V. · Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor · Mental Health Care · June 26, 2025
Doxy.me is extremely helpful, useful, convenient and safe. It respects and insures my patients' privacy.
Pros: The Doxy.me platform performs reliably and conveniently. Its operation is clearly described and easy to use by me and by my patients.
Cons: I am generally impressed by the software and its operational efficiency. I can't really say that I have any significant criticisms.
Stephen F. · Clinical Psychologist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · June 24, 2025
I'm a physician licensed in 3 states, and TeleMedicine is a must!! I can get on Doxy as easy on my phone on the road as I can on my laptop. It occasionally loses video if I have minimal service bars, but often audio continues till signal is better to regain video.
Pros: 1 - Best FREE option on the market I know of that is secure & dependable. I use it to see pts daily, and have for several years now. They have improved & fixed sooo many - dare I say all? (cuz I haven't seen any this year) of the Covid era glitchs I used to encounter. I now see pts daily - using the FREE version - some pts have trouble figuring out how to navigate the waiting room ...granted mostly technically challenged & have to be literally walked thru it by someone that understands basic phone internet ... but once on, it's a piece of cake.
Cons: I guess I'll have to get the paid version so I can update the waiting room message, as it's several years outdated & I see NO way to update it with the FREE version???
KIM Y. · Physician · Medical Practice · June 22, 2025
Poor which is disappointing given several colleagues have used Doxy for years w/o problems. Lucky me.
Pros: One pro is having a set URL address for a virtual waiting room with ability to chat/update patients.
Cons: Doxy had a known connectivity issue with slow response time and rude IT support team. Doxy had a known connectivity problem
Rebekah J. · Clinician · Hospital & Health Care · June 17, 2025
Positive. I used this to start my telehealth practice and save a lot of money over paying for integrated EHRs or Zoom Workplace with BAA.
Pros: Free and HIPAA-compliant, thisis ideal for starting telehealth practice. It was easy to have the same link and waiting room.
Cons: Felt out-dated in appearance/layout. No screen recording/sharing when I was using it a few years ago.
Elizabeth P. · Registered Dietitian · Health, Wellness and Fitness · June 11, 2025
Excellent. Great platform for 1:1 consultations. Updates reload very rapidly. Almost every client has found it super-easy to use.
Pros: Secure, reliable and easy for patients to use, especially as the link is unique to the practitioner so always the same. Almost always good transmission of both audio and video.
Cons: The name has less than ideal connotations in some cultural groups. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Barbara K. · Psychologist · Mental Health Care · June 8, 2025
Easy setup, patients have no issues with it. I am so pleased to have this many features on the free version, I'm considering upgrading to a paid version as I grow and need to customize my waiting room.
Pros: Simple but easy to navigate and very intuitive program. The connection is always reliable, and patients are pleased with this vs. the telehealth option through my EMR.
Cons: I have the free version and honestly feel that it is quite robust for a free product. I wouldn't change anything for this level!
Sarah O. · Naturopathic Physician · Alternative Medicine · May 27, 2025
Very positive and I have encouraged my colleagues to use it as well. I have gotten thank yous from my interns who use it and they all like it a great deal.
Pros: I can manage my waiting room, send messages, the video is always stable. It's so easy to use. Also, sharing the Doxy link is super easy and I have options about how to share it and I can make the link unique or use the same one each time. Thank you so much!
Cons: I can't think of a thing at all. Please keep doing what you are doing. I am not sure what else to say I have to type 100 characters minimum. lol!
Pam A. · LCSW · Health, Wellness and Fitness · May 19, 2025
It was a good service, which I was happy to pay for but now I'm going to look for a different telahealth service.
Pros: It is a HIPAA compliant telahealth site and it used to be very reliable.
Cons: The product quality has declined in the past few months. The past 2-3 weeks it's been even worse. To many dropped calls and lag time in audio and visual communication.
Claudia M. · Prescribing Psychologist · Hospital & Health Care · May 16, 2025
It was a really great way to start in HIPAA compliant telehealth
Pros: I love that it was free, there was no downloads required, and that I had a waiting room
Cons: Sometimes it could be a little bit clunky to use, and you couldn’t schedule directly within it
Elizabeth P. · Registered Dietitian · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 4, 2025
I really appreciate it. It was there when I needed to pivot during Covid. Now my entire practice is virtual and it has allowed so much freedom to do my therapy session from anywhere.
Pros: Reliability, user friendly, always evolving based on feedback and changes in the field, safe and secure, priced right
Cons: Have had a few difficulties regarding my subscription not being accurate but got them resolved with help
Carla M. · Licensed Counselor LCPC · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 3, 2025
Excellent. reliable, very user friendly; never had a problem with it
Pros: It is especially easy to share screens with my patients (e.g. when I want to show patient how to google search something), the patient sees everything I see, without me needing to do any extra clicks.
Cons: I can't think of anything; I like everything about it.
