MPulse is a maintenance management tool used mainly by facilities teams in small and midsize businesses (SMBs) across industries such as education and automotive. It helps track preventive tasks and work orders, with customizable scheduling and history logs. While effective, the interface feels outdated and may slow adoption. Plus, a new feature triggers work orders based on meter readings.

Difficult. I am new in my role as the facility director and have been tasked with finding ways to simplify the MPulse application. All employees use it for work order requests and it is not user-friendly.
Pros: MPulse has a simplified list of features and applications and does not overly complicate the software with unnecessary items.
Cons: Extremely difficult to customize. Very unorganized database and unable to understand how the database tables are compiled. Also, the conversion between maintenance requests to work orders is not seamless and does not have a proper database relationship between the two reports.

Pros: The GUI format is easy to use and has great abilities to track and manage assets.
Cons: Data linking could be better when it comes to importing equipment information.

Pros: Being able to look in advance to see what work was coming up and the ability to change priority.
Cons: Still trying to unlock or use some fields that are available. Still learning the ins and outs.

Pros: Great bandwidth Easy to use and multi use product
Cons: Not sure what I could say on this one satisfies our needs
Mario V. · Manager of facilities services · Facilities Services · April 5, 2024
has been great! I was with another CMMS before them and this is so much better
Pros: the customer service is great! if you have a question they are so helpful about getting back to you and answering your questions or helping you if you have an issue.
Cons: I wish the mobile was a little more user friendly and showed all open work orders no matter how old. we have to monthly change the due date on some work orders so now the due date is not looked at in anything.
Laurie J. · Seaport Operations Controller · Maritime · April 5, 2024
The staff are great to work with. We usually have responses back for our questions the same day.
Pros: We find that the ease of use in the Work Order System makes the product a great buy.
Cons: The initial set up was very time consuming
Michael A. · Senior Director of Facilities · Non-Profit Organization Management · April 1, 2024
So far so good, we are still learning all its abilities..
Pros: There are some many options available along with the expandability.
Cons: Alot of learning the workings of the programs

We've been using MPulse for the last 4 years now, and we don't have any plans of stopping. We appreciate how it helped us in keeping track of all of our devices and not relying too much on stacks of spreadsheets updating, tracking, monitoring, etc., of our devices. MPulse does the work for us.
Pros: Easy to use and understand. There's a learning curve on how to use it but once you learn how to navigate within MPulse, you will definitely appreciate how powerful MPulse is in maintaining and managing all of your devices.
Cons: It was hard to understand at first, but as you use it more daily, you get to appreciate how powerful MPulse is.
Joel S. · Sr. Project Manager · Information Technology and Services · March 27, 2024
Overall I live working with MPulse and enjoy reaping the benefits from using it.
Pros: The use of work orders and pm's to keep track of craftsmen, their time and work done on the job.
Cons: Trying to change information on a work order like adding price of an inventory item added to a work order.
Pamela A. · Maintenance Coordinator · Facilities Services · March 27, 2024
Slow response when entering data, wait for updates on order
Pros: email notifications, lets requester know when completed
Cons: changed how to enter hours when closing orders. takes sooo long to get something changed
Tom P. · Facilities Manager · Gambling & Casinos · March 27, 2024
Mpluse is an OK CMMS software. It works and is cost effective but can lack innovation in areas. They are slow to release updates and seem to only work on bugs or upgrades if enough people ask for them.
Pros: It can be user friendly if you set it up properly
Cons: I can be very slow and takes a long time to load. It doesn't always accept changes that you made. It would be much better if you didn't have to blue checkmark all your changes. If it would just keep and change the fields with out having to click on pencils all the time it would be so much faster to complete your work.
Pat H. · Maintenance Supervisor · Packaging and Containers · March 27, 2024
I like mpulse and the capability to make it more our own for each section that we use the program.
Pros: That I can make it more suited to our wants and needs
Cons: I wish the option to add time to assigned employees at the same time was an option.
Lynn S. · Maintenance Systems Specialist · Mining & Metals · March 25, 2024
Pros: I've only been using it for a couple of months, I am new to the company. I really like how easy it is to navigate especially when searching for an inventory part. Being new, this has helped tremendously.
Cons: There seems to be quite a few glitches. But I'm confident they will be addressed.
Phillip B. · Maintenance Clerk · Food Production · March 22, 2024
It suits my need but if I could find something better I would chose it.
Pros: I like the flexibility and the ability to customize to the company's need and the end users' needs.
Cons: 1.) The look and feel are antiquated. 2.) The work order layout, process, and printable version are just not up to par. Very difficult and antiquated. 3.) Report Wiget's are not very customizable; very limited in what you can see.
Ryan M. · VP of Biomedical Services · Medical Devices · March 22, 2024
Great software but could be better form a mobile standpoint when in the field.
Pros: best option at the time for maintenance software with inventory
Cons: we would like to do more but we're limited
vernon t. · Housing Manager · Health, Wellness and Fitness · March 22, 2024
Its a big help with mechanical maintenance. It acts as a great reminder for preventative maintenance on equipment.
Pros: Its capacity to store a lot of details per each piece of equipment that we service
Cons: It takes a lot of training to get proficient at using the system. It would be best suited for a company that had someone dedicated to the system.
wilson E. · Facilities maintenance supervisor · Real Estate · March 22, 2024
MPulse has become a very much have to have part of our daily lives as we work through our maintenance day
Pros: easy access to all the different headings and pages i need to go to use the software
Cons: manipulating around the different pages with the mouse and the pulldown menus
Tim S. · maint mgr · Food & Beverages · March 6, 2024
So far, no major regrets. That said, if the ability to view comments for the person who entered the work order request and the ability to email when status of work order changes isn't resolved, we will likely find a different product.
Pros: Fairly customizable, easy to search, support has been good so far
Cons: ability for front end users who enter work orders to see all comments and be emailed when a comment is added and/or status of work order changes was promised to us but does not function. It is being investigated but still is pending.
Dan R. · Director · Facilities Services · March 1, 2024
Pros: Being using mPluse for 9 years, very satisfy with the work order, work order scheduling capital equipment and parts inventory module.
Cons: Not too happy with how the reporting format is outlines.
John B. · Biomedical Engineer · Hospital & Health Care · March 1, 2024
Simple to use for all members of my team. I was pleased with the initial cost and the annual fee compared to other products, but as I said previously, I believe that has changed, just not for us because we are "godfathered" in.
Pros: Mobile ability (we used tablets, have not used the mobile app yet. Ease of use Cost (when we purchased in 2018 compared to the other companies we looked at, seems like cost has increased substantially since then for new users)
Cons: 1. Not being able to sync or make inventory and purchasing modules with SAP 2. Reorder list is not nearly flexible enough, needs to be able to be sorted by bin location and printed or exported to an Excel file.
James B. · Facility and Maintenance Sr. Manager · Automotive · February 29, 2024
Overall the experience has been challenging but good.
Pros: The feature that I like most is the ease at which work orders can be submitted and tracked. The ability to attach media to work orders is extremely helpful.
Cons: Not being able to access or edit work orders once they have been completed . It would be nice if administrator's had the capability to access closed orders
Quintin R. · Senior Director of Maintenance and Operations · Education Management · February 29, 2024
Mostly satisfied, but there are some improvements that can be made. Customer service is very good and responds right away.
Pros: Ease of managing records and creation of new using copy paste feature. Scheduled Maintenance records keep work orders on track.
Cons: The Audit Trail function being limited to 15 days and on as request basis should be extended to continuous. Date formatting cannot be customized. Being a GMP facility there are compliant date formats that must be used, which we cannot change. Using search at the top of columns in list view is slow and when term being searched cannot be found the system locks up temporarily. There used to be a search field at the top of the Asset Assigned to Task. That was very useful but removed in V9. When large quantities of assets are assigned to task in work orders, applying labor to each is very time consuming. Perhaps there could be a split labor across all assigned assets would work. The view Media dialogue is slow to load when multiple pages are within an attachment. The "reset" function workflow within the search field at the top of list columns takes too many steps to complete. Opening the list view/settings and applying the change is too many steps.
Joe M. · Director of Engineering · Cosmetics · February 29, 2024
Stepped into current role (AM) using Mpulse. Worked with rep on site to set up new database; this went as smoothly as could be imagined and rep was extremely helpful and has went above and beyond. Setting up some reports has been painful. Both to correct existing report from previous database and to have new report/widget created.
Pros: Ability to set up PMs/repeating work orders. Ability to track history and usage.
Cons: 1- Inability to look up data based on time of day (individual shifts). 2- The key stroke timer that will auto load/refresh is a constant gripe from techs. 3- AX inputting
James Y. · Assistant Manager · Automotive · February 29, 2024
For our campus, it made getting requests from users easier, plus the users were able to receive e-mail notifications depending on the status of the work order. The building users appreciate it's ease of use for getting requests to Physical Plant. Maintenance staff can be held accountable for performance and with the Preventative Maintenance procedures getting scheduled and completed, the downtime of critical equipment has dropped.
Pros: Ease to set up, service and trouble-shooting skills of staff at MPulse top rate! Have been using the various platforms of Mpulse since June 2000.
Cons: Since We did in house loading of assets and setting up of preventative maintenance procedures, it would have been nice to have some pre-populated PM procedures that could have been available for generic pieces of equipment that everyone has. The inventory process, part/materials was a bit cumbersome as well the key management tab.
Christopher B. · Director-Physical Plant, IT and Facility Planning · Education Management · February 29, 2024
I would rate my experience so far, a 3/10. I did not purchase this software; this was already in the department when I took over as supervisor so knowing the previous supervisor, i blame him for some of the software functions being so confusing but like stated earlier, not having support when i need them can become frustrating sometimes.
Pros: Mpulse is a good tool for my maintenance technicians. When a machine breaks it is very easy to track down what piece of equipment needs servicing.
Cons: Mpulse on an administrator standpoint is very difficult to use. I often have trouble navigating the behind the scenes because of how confusing the software is. With how much work I have running a maintenance department, it really puts a wrench in the works not having good support readily available to me.
