Checkr

Pros: Checkr has drastically streamlined our background check process and created efficiency across our hiring. The process went from over a week with our prior provider, to sometimes hours with Checkr. Candidates have shared a positive experience with the platform, and results come back quickly. The system integrates with our HRIS, allowing us easy access to requesting the background check directly from Recruiting. The cost is comparable to other platforms, and the customer service is quick.

Cons: Checkr has so many positive qualities - the only thing that I wish was different would be to have a dedicated account manager with a phone number or email to contact. Their customer service is through scheduled office hours or through chat. Both are useful, but sometimes it would be easier to send a quick email or call a dedicated resource.

Pros: I work for a private preschool, and Checkr helps us with preliminary background check for higher level positions.

Pros: Ease of use - the platform makes it easy to see the full list of candidates right on the home screen. Just a click to see the report.

Cons: I only utilize Checkr for background checks, so it's hard for me to speak to cons since I'm not utilizing every resource the platform offers.

Pros: One simplified solution for managing all of our pre-employment and post-accident screening needs. It works seamlessly with our existing Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to automate data entry.

Cons: Not a fully integrated solution. Must login into the 3rd party site to retrieve results and download report to upload into HRIS.

Pros: Checkr seamlessly integrates with our HCM system, providing a quick, easy, and efficient onboarding process.

Cons: Prior to this integration, we were using Checkr as a standalone background check system and occasionally the checks would cost more than anticipated.

Pros: They are so easy to use/ user friendly, and their customer support rocks! There is no real learning curve, in my opinion. I also love the feature they have where a candidate can provide an explanation to a crime or issue on their background check.

Cons: Nothing so far! I've been using Checkr for a year now and do not regret changing from a previous provider! Also, this integrates well with Paylocity.

Pros: The system is very user friendly and is a one stop shop for all related background checks including MVR and Social Security checks.

Cons: Nothing, it offers everything necessary to run a variety of checks to be compliant with the various state regulations we have to follow.

Pros: The convenience of the integration with our HRIS. The website is super easy as well. We get a bundkes package that is budget friendly and customizable.

Cons: I dont have any complaints. Checkr is great. We customized our package, and saved money. Its cost-effective and user friendly.

Pros: Just started using because of integration with new payroll/HR system. It seems easy enough to use with a lot of options.

Cons: I haven't been using them long enough to tell if there are any major drawbacks or negatives to describe.

Pros: The platform is organized nicely, making it easy to retrieve candidate information and background check updates. It also connects to our HRIS so manual administrative tasks are minimal, if not obsolete, using this service.

Cons: I don't have anything negative to say about Checkr. Sometimes the reviews can take longer than desired, but that's because of external factors, not Checkr.

Pros: It is quick, and easy to use. We use this platform for all background checks within our company. I recommend!

Cons: Sometimes it is hard to get ahold of actual people at the company. If you run into issues, you have to use the chat and have no option to speak with someone.

Pros: its seamless and efficient background check process. The platform is intuitive, making it easy to submit candidates for screening and track progress in real-time.

Cons: Some reports occasionally take longer than expected to process, which can slow down hiring timelines. This includes disputing checks from candidates.

Pros: Checkr integrates easily into Paylocity which is very nice not having to switch between platforms. It is also very easy to order a background check and to customize a background check.

Cons: It is not easy to understand in terms of how far the background check goes and to what depth it goes. I was having a hard time finding out if it was a 7 year look back period or farther. It looks like they have added a 10 year look back period, but it would be nice to see more detail on the report.

Pros: It was easy for me to get in and use it with no previous experience. It was simple to send and easy to see where people are in the process.

Cons: Nothing, I had a great experience. I was worried about getting a lot of emails, but it was easy to adjust my settings to only receive the ones I needed.

Pros: The user interface is easy to navigate, and it works seamlessly behind the scenes with our member database.

Cons: We have not run into any hiccups with Checkr. It does what it is supposed to, and gives our organization peace of mind.

Pros: Automation with Rippling and ease of use for our fully remote company has been such a benefit. Background checks have become mostly "set it and forget it", with any flags being easy to manage in the platform.

Cons: We didn't explore any other background check platforms when initially implementing Checkr, so I can't compare, but the prices do feel a bit high.

Pros: Background checks are quick and they offer a variety of services. Too bad they can't back that up with speaking with the customer directly

Cons: A human only calls to sell a service but don't offer the courtesy to call a customer directly when assistance is needed. It's a waste of time with AI Chat box. Too bad this good company is going with losing the people contact.

Pros: I like the ease of using checkr and the integrations its provides with Greenhouse. I like it overall as a tool.

Cons: I cannot say anything about Checkr that I dislike. I think it's a strong product overall, however there is always one criticism we can make cost.

Pros: My favorite part about Checkr is that the platform seamlessly integrates with our Paylocity system, so it feels as though it is a one-stop-shop making our pre-employment checks easy. The background results also return to us very quickly which helps minimize delays.

Cons: One thing I like least about Checkr is the lack of real-time updates or clearer communication when delays happen in the background check process. It can create confusion for both candidates and the HR team, especially when timelines are tight and onboarding schedules are impacted.

Pros: Checkr offers thorough background checks--reporting state and federal records. It even reports things down to a traffic or parking violation.

Cons: Checkr has unreliable timeframes--sometimes you receive a background check quickly, other times it takes weeks with little help from customer support. With an increase in price last year, it is now as expensive as its competitors.

Pros: They used to do a good job, not so much anymore.

Cons: Absolutely horrible customer service. They have closed their support phone number and the chat / email support is slow and unhelpful. They cannot address issues and suggested solution are not complete of possible in their product.

Pros: Checkr follows up with participants so I do not have to.
