Pleased. It took a few sessions to get used to the new platform and figure out the navigation. Now I got it and it's great.
Pros: Easy to view and work with. I had several questions early on and the support team at Genea was very helpful.
Cons: The delay in getting the submeter billing statemets for approval. In the past they were on the platform right at the end of the month.

I have been grateful for the expertise of the team that allows for timely billing to tenants in a professional and meaningful way.
Pros: Very easy website to navigate, good responsiveness of the team, knowledge of the subject matter, cost effectiveness
Cons: A lot of back and forth emails during onboarding, when maybe setting up a 10 minute call would expedite the process for follow-up questions.

Overall, the process is easy. Set up would have been nice to have more instructions but once it was setup, the workload on my end is great and clear.

Pros: The billing is an easy process and takes the work off of me to billback tenants. The portal and processes are easy to use.
Cons: The initial set-up was a little confusing and there were some hiccups. Some parts were not delivered. it would have been helpful to have someone assist with setup.

Cons: Tenant invoices aren't automatically sent.
Renji G. · Property Manager · Real Estate · February 12, 2025
Good experience, the support team is helpful and send reminders if I did not submit the bill in time.
Pros: Fast, easy, and consistent. My bills are broken out in 2 days max and are always consistent month to month.
Cons: It would be helpful if the submeter bills were emailed as well instead of downloading them.

Great I feel as if Submeter is part of the building management team
Pros: Functionality and ease of use, having a system in place that gives you accurate information
Cons: That it is not fully automated and the system can do the readings without human assistance. I would like to just receive reports without having to walk the building

Pros: Customer service is very helpful and accommodating.
Cons: The website is hard to manage and sometimes I can't find my invoices.
Lela B. · Asst Property Manager · Real Estate · March 6, 2024
The reports are difficult to filter through when exporting and the platform needs more organization.
Pros: I can depend on the meters getting read monthly and the billings being produced.
Cons: The reports are difficult to filter through when exporting and the platform needs more organization.

Chris K. · Property Manager · Real Estate · December 14, 2023
I have had a great overall experience with submeter billing and it makes my job easier while also providing beneficial and detailed information to our tenants to understand the breakdown of their utility usage.
Pros: I like that it provides the usage data and cost to bill our tenants back for their submetered utility usage. This makes it easier on me to bill our tenants.
Cons: Some times when our engineers enter meter readings in the app the readings get stuck in the app and are not received by the submeter billing team.
patrick l. · Assistant Property Manager · Real Estate · October 25, 2023
Pros: ease of reading meters, no other issues
Cons: At first it was the constant emails but that has slacked a little.
Rhonda C. · Property Manager · Real Estate · September 14, 2023

Pros: The ease of having statements automatically generated each month.
Cons: The site is not as user friendly or has a clear and concise look with there being multiple properties.
Jeovana D. · Assistant Property Manager · Real Estate · September 6, 2023
For the most part it's great (80%). The delay in receiving the monthly statements and billings, along with the inaccuracy makes it questionable (20%).
Pros: Ease to track and analyze per meter. Ease of pulling up history and tracking data. Ease of billing.
Cons: Delay in getting monthly billings. Inaccuracy of billings and/or addresses and/or missing Tenants. Almost every month there is something inaccurate in the billings
Kauwela B. · General/Property Manager · Commercial Real Estate · August 24, 2023
Pros: The product is very easy to use, the meter reading site is straightforward and the process of downloading/sending these meter read bills to your tenants is a seamless process.
Cons: Overall, the site has everything you need to relay meter reading bills in a timely fashion.
Joseph R. · Property Manager · Real Estate · August 21, 2023
Pros: I really enjoy the easy billing of tenants since Genea does all the work and I just distribute the invoices. They do all the calculation and invoicing. I find the submeter billing very useful and quick to pull invoices.
Cons: I think they hardest part is the setup but once that is accomplished it has been fine.
Raechelle E. · RESA · Real Estate · August 18, 2023
Pros: It gives me back a lot of time in the day
Cons: Genea does not always meet the required deadlines
Bridget C. · Property Manager · Commercial Real Estate · August 16, 2023
Great experience, finally able to bill tenants accurately for their utility usage.
Pros: Genea has provided accurate billing for tenants, while we were underbilling for years while doing manual calculations.
Cons: Building engineer has to manually input the meter reads, which can sometimes cause errors.
laura b. · Property Manager · Real Estate · August 15, 2023
I personally have been using this product a bit over a year and find this to be one of the easiest and simplest submeter invoicing platform ever.
Pros: Genea provides a simple and thorough platform for submeter billing. Setting up submeters on a line diagram that provides a visual that is not only easy to locate your meter, but also easy to read and personalize.
Cons: Without training, it was a bit difficult to locate the tenant invoices to review and approve, but the great customer service provided by Genea got me through this slight hurdle without any issues.
Julie L. · Senior Property Manager · Real Estate · August 15, 2023
Overall it has been a great experience.
Pros: What I like most is not having to manually bill for the sub-meter utilities.
Cons: I have noticed the meter read dates submitted in Angus never match the meter read dates listed on the supporting documents. They should always match to alleviate uncertainty.
Veronica G. · Assistant Property Manager · Commercial Real Estate · May 11, 2023
It's awesome!
Pros: What I like most about Submeter Billing is Ease of use.
Cons: There isn't anything I dislike about the submeter billing system.
Alexandria W. · Property Administrator · Commercial Real Estate · May 9, 2023
Pros: The transition to Submeter Billing was a breeze. Genea Support + Team go above and beyond to make sure of it.
Cons: The only suggestion would be to have the ability to transfer existing users over to another Property. For example, if we have a new tenant that already was using Genea services, they'll have to create new credentials rather than being able to use their existing credentials.
