iMIS provides a solid, all-in-one solution for managing memberships, tracking data, and reporting efficiently.
Pros: iMIS makes membership management and reporting simple, efficient, and easy to use for the entire team.
Cons: iMIS does not currently offer a feature for members to download or access their receipts directly online.

There is a very large support network for iMIS users. There is a very active user group, and ASI provides excellent online documentation and training resources.
Pros: We chose iMIS because, unlike some other association management systems we reviewed, it would let us customize the database and business processes to fit our needs. We also found the ability to integrate iMIS with MailChimp and other 3rd party applications very useful. We have been able to consolidate several different databases into a single source of data. iMIS also allows us to track the engagement of our members using criteria that we have established. This allows us to make better business decisons and communication plans.
Cons: iMIS has a fairly steep learning curve, but there are several consulting services available to assist with training and implementation. In addition, the online documentation for the product is excellent, and there is also a training portal with in-depth classes available.

iMIS has helped our organization modernize and adapt to the demands of the 21st century. With this platform, we can effectively meet both our own needs and those of our clients. Personally, using iMIS has broadened my technological skills and increased my value within the company.
Pros: Our organization adopted iMIS to replace our outdated Microsoft Access database and bring our data management into the 21st century. This management system has enabled us to collect data seamlessly and has provided the flexibility to customize the platform according to our specific requirements. Additionally, iMIS integrates effectively with third-party applications and offers support for open APIs.
Cons: While iMIS generally handles a wide range of functions, from membership and donations to certifications and events, our organization has customized the system so much that it's not being used for it's initial intention. This has caused headaches when updates occur and when we need assistance.

We have used it for about 15 years and with each release it gets better and better. Although expensive, it is the only program we have found that can handle the complexity of our organization without choking.
Pros: Flexibility for use with complex dues and membership structures. Powerful Query engine and reporting capabilities. Good customer support and a good network of experts to help through sticky situations.
Cons: iMIS has a very steep learning curve. Some inconsistencies in interface make it not always user friendly.

I started working with iMIS in 2022 and have been overall happy with the system and the options it offers our organization. It has many of the tools needed built into the system and there are new features being added that are requests from the community.
Pros: Versatility and 3rd party development options. System can be tailored to your needs and has very well organized examples and templates to follow.
Cons: As with any highly customizable software, configuration and procedures can be difficult at times. While administration tasks are not a heavy lift, there are some that need many checkboxes checked to get the job done.

IMIS provides us with secure data management. It is easy to manage users and members alike. We can automate many routine tasks such as invoicing and reporting, as well as member joining and renewal processes. We have seen a big reduction in manual effort required of our staff, thus saving us time and resources. All of this allows employees to focus on more strategic tasks.
Pros: We have seen a drastic reduction of manual tasks. The automated processes allow us to spend time on other work. Also IMIS can integrate with many other products which is also a great time and effort saving for us. The online help and videos are superb and we have now incorporated them into our own new staff training.
Cons: It can be a little frustrating to have to pay for different modules, on top of the already high licence costs. We recently moved from 2017 to EMS and some functionality is no longer available.

very satisfied. It's easy to learn and the Tech support team are amazing.
Pros: There is so much you can do and it's always evolving.
Cons: communication templates are not searchable.

I have been using IMIS for the past 15 years, overall it has been great, it evolves with time. I would like to see more options and features which l am told is in later versions currently on version 2017
Pros: It continues to grow as our needs grow, moves with time
Cons: The front end does not give more options and seems closed for some features

I've worked with iMIS for 3 years now. I recommend the certification programs as a great way to gain an overall understanding of the system.
Pros: iMIS is an incredibly flexible solution for any association. Supported by a passionate team and partners, you really can't go wrong implementing iMIS.
Cons: There is a little bit of learning required to get started. Once you get the basics it all begins to make sense. Documentation and support are first rate, so you won't have any trouble.
Brock J. · Manager, Web Content and IT · Non-Profit Organization Management · December 13, 2024
We are very happy with iMIS. Its reliability, customization, intuitive design, and customer support make it an invaluable asset.
Pros: Very easy to use and straightforward. We use iMIS for just about everything - membership, event registrations, orders, advertising, programs. We love that it is very customizable to meet our needs.
Cons: Reports and process automation are kind of hard if you aren't familiar with IQAs. But once you do a few, it's easy.

iMIS has been a great tool for our association. Not only the product, but the community of users and support received is unmatched.
Pros: iMIS helps us connect our members with valuable resources by delivering tailored content, data, and services
Cons: Transitioning staff from desktop to staff site
Jacinta B. · Senior Web Developer · Non-Profit Organization Management · October 8, 2024
Pros: Lots of functionality to complete tasks that otherwise would take multiple steps to full complete, like data managament.
Cons: Sometimes there can be a learning curve, so make sure to review their training resources.
Tony M. · Edu. Manager · Logistics and Supply Chain · October 7, 2024
I wish i could attend more iMIS conferences.
Pros: I like the easy learning of the products.
Cons: There is nothing I don't like about the system.
LaKisha H. · Administrative Senior Specialist · Public Relations and Communications · October 3, 2024
Its very trustable and effective tool for all your membership related things
Pros: 1. Love the UI design and smooth flow of running the command 2. Very easy to implement and integrate other tools with it 3. It can make all the data usable to all the employee data base with just one click 4. The product team is very helpful on any customization needs
Cons: 1. You need an in-depth training to understand the mechanism of this tool 2. Automation is primitive and needs an upgrade 3. Not available in the mobile app version

It wasn't the best before we went live with iMIS EMS. We always had multiple issues and unresolved support tickets and told that the 'issues' we were having would be resolved when we went live with EMS, but it didn't. The issues were eventually addresses and resolved, but it took several months to address one of our tickets. Support has been better over the last few months though.
Pros: The event platform is fairly easy to use and navigate.
Cons: The IQA platform. In my opinion, it's not user friendly, and it's difficult to navigate if you're a beginner learner.
Nikki M. · Database and Website Manager · Hospital & Health Care · May 29, 2024
iMIS is a great place to store our member files, though we've only used it once, using it to register for an event is a great way to ensure individuals register for the correct registration type. We use it for groups as well and can track / communicate with individuals depending on which group they choose to be a part of.
Pros: Easy to find information, auto-renewal for memberships, can create any number of reports, add notes to a member file.
Cons: Reading the history of a member file is not always clear.
Evie T. · Executive Support · Non-Profit Organization Management · May 28, 2024
Overall, our organization enjoys the product and its benefits. Our partners that work with us are always intelligent, full of humor, and very kind. They know the product through and through, and do not try to upsell for the sake of upselling.
Pros: iMIS has changed our perspective when dealing with our membership. The implementation was a growing pain we needed. Our membership profiles are more complete.
Cons: Features of iMIS that require full licensing cause a more expensive spend than we forecasted. It forced a lot of regional overhead to be absorbed by the administration.
Carlos M. · National Director of Technology · Executive Office · May 10, 2024
Overall, iMIS has been a great experience that has allowed us to more efficiently provide Member Benefits and manage operations and member engagement.
Pros: Full functionality, use of support documentation, tracking member engagement, ease of registration and payments for members and staff
Cons: Often the documentation is written from the perspective of those who are too familiar with the system or it does not catch up to real-time changes to the system.

I have been using iMIS for over a decade. We are currently migrating to their Cloud Platform (called EMS), The desktop version was installed before I started with the association, and many aspects of how it was initially configured were questionable, and, in some instances, very difficult to correct. We have great expectations for the EMS version. An example; products that we sell in our store currently are all pinned to one shipping method. The EMS version allows for that to be handled on a product by product basis, which is a major improvement as we have been in the position of having to reimburse shipping costs for items that are digitally delivered. All that is changing - for which we are grateful.
Pros: iMIS is a very powerful, flexible and well-engineered AMS. It meets all our AMS needs very effectively. It is a great tool for tracking individual and company membersehips.
Cons: It is very expensive. As a small association that works with very tight budgets iMIS is a large portion of our annual budget.
Kurt H. · Director of IT · Non-Profit Organization Management · May 9, 2024
Pros: It is easy to create and generate new pages with supported iParts The iMIS support teams provide quick and helfpful response
Cons: It's hard to perform custom codes or adjust the out of box parts The page loading speed is relatively slow compared to the SASS applications.

Our experience with iMIS has always been very positive. iMIS staff are very responsive when we reach out, and proactively contact us periodically to make sure we are doing well and don't have any questions. We also love our iMIS partner, ATS.
Pros: I love being in the cloud and never having to plan for an upgrade again!! We are always on the most current version of the software and we couldn't be happier!
Cons: We're pretty satisfied with this product and haven't found a competitor that can better handle our needs, regardless of price point, so we're very satisfied customers.
Kimberly C. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · August 16, 2023
iMIS has given us more flexibility in retrieving our information as needed
Pros: iMIS allows us to use our data to gain information on which of our doctors need to complete requirements for their Board certification.
Cons: iMIS has been customized to help us do our job. We are not fully using iMIS as is.
Manoli V. · Continuing Certification Program Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · June 30, 2023
Pros: Our members can access all their data in one place. We can also access all that data about a member, allowing us to provide a more personalised experience.
Cons: Sometimes it feels like you need to be an IT person to make changes - we're a small organisation without an IT department and we can only do so much ourselves.
Hatty G. · Marketing and Education Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · June 30, 2023
Excellent!
Pros: A single source of truth for our member data as well as the ability to build a website but to continually update and improve the site.
Cons: Not really any cons, you just need to learn to drive iMIS to work for you, we are in our 3rd year of use and 99% of our daily use is done within our own team with the odd support request for assistance.
Trudy F. · Executive Officer - Operations · Education Management · June 21, 2023
Pros: iMIS can facilitate nearly any solution you may need as a non-profit association. It provides the most common tools out of the box, while more uncommon solutions are available from trusted partners that offer easy integration.
Cons: Written documentation of the software is robust for casual users, but I have found that documentation for more technical tasks is often lacking.
