Transitioning to Lightspeed Restaurant has been a mixed experience, marked by high-performance hardware but a challenging implementation phase. While the system excels in processing speed and hardware reliability, the software architecture requires a significant time investment to master. It feels like a powerful engine that lacks a user-friendly manual; it is capable of handling high volumes, but getting the workflow "just right" for a specific business model requires patience and a fair amount of independent troubleshooting. Ultimately, it is a robust professional tool that offers a noticeable upgrade in speed over entry-level POS system, though it currently lacks the intuitive "plug-and-play" simplicity found in other competitors.
Pros: We recently switched from Squre to Lightspeed and have been impressed y the hardware performance. The POS and printers are significately faster, and once you master the menu-building logic, it offers more flexibility than our previous setup. While the onboarding process was a bit of a self-taught journey and the software has a few quirks-particularly regarding paper usage and takeout workflows-the core engine is powerful. We are already seeing the benefits of the increased speed during busy shifts. We're hopeful that as we continue to optimize our configuration and as the platform rolls out updates, it will fully meet our operational needs. A solid choice if you're looking for a robust, high-speed system!
Cons: Complexity of Implementation: Onboarding is done by users themselves, with a long response time to support questions, making the learning curve very high. Workflow Problems: Some processes such as handling takeaway orders and reversing charges require additional efforts and involve back office processes, making services slow. Limited Customization: Rigid menu design, limited options for ticket settings result in wasting a lot of paper and poor formatting for ticketing.

The user side for POS is fine, but the back office and management is not great; it is difficult and without room to customize it.
Pros: It is simple to use, team members can get used to it quickly, it covers the basics for a POS. The Lightspeed Payments are good, with nice rates
Cons: It is not personalizable; if it doesn't include functions that you need, it is VERY hard to have them implemented. They also add and remove functions without communicating it.

J'avais besoin d'un logiciel qui devait être relié au MEV(Québec) et je dois avouer que de toutes les compagnies que j'ai contactés, Lightspeed a été la plus facile, la moins coutant et la plus performante en terme de croissance!
Pros: Logiciel très facile à utiliser, le service à la clientèle est excellent et très réactif! Belle entreprise canadienne!
Cons: Je dois avouer que ce pourrait être plus dynamique. La formule est très carré très pure, et parfois j'aime ca plus créatif! Sinon c'est vraiment bien

Pros: IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER SOFTWARE. IT HAS A NICE "TAB FORM" EASY TO MAKE CHANGES AND UPDATES. SIMPLE STRUCTURE
Cons: LAG TIMES AND CRASHES. BUT THE ON LINE HELP WAS ALWAYS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GUIDED US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR "REPAIRS" AND UPDATES.

It performs well, not excellent. But depending on your business it may work just fine. We needed something offering us more flexibility and editing options.
Pros: Ease of use, modern software and detailed reports. Modern system.
Cons: Glitches, a lot of them. Slow customer support, and somehow limited interface for item editing or customization.

Not the worst but certainly not a great experience so far. I'm being hopeful they will correct some of the issues or shortfalls. The implementation process has been very much on their terms. They have been very nice but the process has been slow and difficult and has put a lot of responsibility on me and my staff to learn how to configure and use the software on our own. Training videos are OK but only touch the surface. Getting answers to specific issues or ways to accomplish things is very slow. Honestly if I was starting over I probably would pick a different system but I'm this far along so I'm hoping they will make improvements moving forward.
Pros: Speed. The POS system and printers seem much faster than our previous system. The process of building menu's from individual items once you get used to it is much better than our previous system.

My overall experience with Lightspeed was top notch. As I mentioned above, I've used many different restaurant POS systems in my lifetime. Some were old, some were outdated and some were very up to speed and easy to use - which I found was my experience with Lightspeed. When you're in the food industry, taking orders as fast and efficient as possible is crucial. So you need a good system that is easy to maneuver and gets the job done. Lightspeed was awesome for intricate things such as splitting bills among multiple customers. It was good for accessing and printing out itemized bills. And most importantly was easy to read for us who were entering everything in. The layout was self explanatory which made it easy to punch things in quickly and check patrons out as fast as they sat down.
Pros: When I was bartending at my last restaurant job they had us using Lightspeed as our POS system to put orders in and use for our cash register. I've been in the restuarant industry for 8+ years so I have seen a multitude of different POS system - and this was by far my favorite I've used.
Cons: I didn't have any bad reviews using Lightspeed. It was very quick and easy to learn. I was able to really get down the gist within my first day of training. The biggest thing I had to learn was just memorizing where all our items on our menu were to efficiently and quickly put in orders.

Did not like it but it was too much of a hassle to get another system.
Pros: Handheld devices which were helpful for the wait staff.
Cons: The system went down often, and it was VERY difficult to get a hold of tech support.

The overall experience with Lightspeed Restaurant is very good! It's easy to understand and user-friendly.
Pros: What I like most about Lightspeed Restaurant is the data and reports you need are in there and you can easily pull them out because it's easy to navigate.
Cons: So far, there's nothing I like least about Lightspeed Restaurant because the reports needed by the team are in there.

Overall the platform/epos does what it needs to do! We personally had constant connectivity issues between devices which they always try to lay blame elsewhere, which caused issues with kitchen printing and network printing in general. We installed a £5k new internet / network across one of the sites to resolve all and it did nothing to improve with 800mb speeds We have several pubs / restaurants, and this was really not suited to our operations! We also were not allowed to add a new site without using light speed payments at the new site with the epos which we didn’t want to do as they couldn’t match our current card machine rates. Therefore this resulted in the new site using a different epos, which we have now moved all the businesses too. I don’t think it’s your worst option of an epos, but for someone with a small operation such as ours with a couple pub/restaurant sites, this is not the epos for you!
Pros: A lot of features and reporting - integrates well. Nice user interface and design for staff
Cons: I found the system overall too much, everything was just harder than it needed to be to set up, harder than it needed to be on the back offfice, inventory was far more complicated than it needed to be, reports covered everything but were also just a little too meticulous at the same time that it was counter productive and just needed to provide the information needed.

Pros: Please note that I have subscribed to Kounta which at the time had good support in Australia. Since it has been taken over by Lightspeed support has gone down the drain. There is no knowledge and response time is unacceptable. Forget about using phone as the message clearly states if you don’t get connected to operator within 15minutes call will be disconnected.
Cons: Really bad support. It absolutely frustrating to have to chase my payments which are short. Waiting for answers for like 20minutes. Requesting contact with my account manager repeatedly for last four weeks. As a business owner I don’t have time to chase it. Resolutions should be fast and easy. I dread every tine that I have to contact their support.

We're integrating with Lightspeed and my experience is that they've put a great product on the market.
Pros: The product is one of the modern POS systems that it's very easy to set up and very easy to use. It's a breeze for both the users and the admins.
Cons: There is not really much to be mentioned as a con to be honest. May be that if you're experiencing some sort of a lack of internet connectivity you won't be able to mare changes, but not sure if I can qualify this as a con.

Pros: Easy to use but when compared to competitors like square, extremely over priced.
Cons: I would be very careful signing up, we have been trying to cancel for weeks now but have been given the run around. The sales team is supposed to reach out but we have been waiting. Now our next months payment has just come out. They are extremely difficult to deal with. Other companies have call centers based in the states but it does not seem as though lightspeed does.

Man hat oft den Eindruck, dass es Stückwerk ist vom ehemals deutschen Kassenanbieter, der wohl übernommen wurde. Es scheinen hier zwei Welten aufeinander getroffen zu sein.Von deutschen Buchhaltungsanforderungen, Mehrwertsteuersätzen, Datev usw. scheint niemand richtig Ahnung zu haben, das ist fatal!!!
Pros: - Man kann Änderungen recht einfach im Menü vornehmen- Support ist gut erreichbar und auch hilfreich
Cons: -beim Start sind wir nicht richtig betreut worden, das System war nicht richtig eingerichtet bzw. vorbereitet, wir mussten ca. eine Woche mit einer nicht funktionierenden Kasse kämpfen und viele viele Telefonate führen- Die fehlende Kassenbuchfunktion ist ein sehr großes Manko, Datev Anbindung die reine Katastrophe. Wegen der völlig unverständlichen Anforderungen vom Anbieter Omniboost hat unser Steuerberater die Zusammenarbeit aufgekündigt, was eine reine Katastrophe war. Zufällig erfahren wir, dass es eine neue Datev-Anbindung geben soll und versuchen, seit zwei Monaten!!!! einen Account Manager diesbezüglich z erreichen. Trotz fast wöchentlicher Anfragen meldet sich niemand. - Die Berichte sind überdimensioniert und unübersichtlich (es fehlen Angaben ob die Zahlen brutto oder netto angegeben sind)-im Menü fehlt eine Wochen/Monatsübersicht der Umsätze, man kann immer nur den aktuellen Geschäftstag sehen?

Pros: It is easy to use and the back office reports are very useful.
Cons: When it glitches the time on hold on the phone is ridiculous and Lightspeed needs to put techs on the road to help out the restaurants using their product

Pros: Rien. On l'avait pris pour les modules de gestion et on ne s'en sert pas car trop complexe et déjà trop à faire pour gérer les problèmes opérationnels
Cons: Les bugs à répétition. Pas intuitif. Trop complexe et pas de hotline. Ils rappellent parfois 4 h00 après en plein service et demande de faire des tests. N'importe quoi ce logiciel et leur gestion. Pas adapté
