Positive. [sensitive content hidden] was very helpful, as well as knowledgeable with the system. She is very professional and also friendly.
Pros: Easily accessible. They respond quickly and are happy to help you get set up and learn the process of payroll.
Cons: So far everything is good. I am happy with the interaction that I have had thus far and I have no complaints.

10 out of 10 from sign up until now all had been good. My onboarding specialist was pleasant and assuring.n
Pros: Website easy to use. Customer service was very pleasant. Onboarding was easy. They calculate taxes for you no worries with a audit. Running payroll is smooth and straight forward.
Cons: Nothing in pleased. I wish we could use business credit cards for payment methods. Other than that the company is doing well.

First years super good, but the situation with the reemployment tax that had to be made by them, and they didnt care or help us with that, so that made us change the payroll company, so bad experience overall
Pros: Easy to navigate the site, easy to connect through the chat, and customer support online is good, aparently its cheeper tha other companies
Cons: They didnt let us know about a payment that we need to make to the reemployment tax, which has to be made by them, so at the end, we have a big problem with the government and get penalties, and they didn't respond to this

Pros: Our CPA recommended OnPay for our small business. With all of the help articles and the dedicated onboarding specialist, the set up process was a breeze. The interface is easy to use and running payroll takes only a few clicks. The value is unbeatable. Very satisfied!
Cons: I wish you could set the payroll to run automatically each month. We have a simple pay structure though so I understand that doesn't work for every business.
Rachel S. · Managing Member · Retail · April 8, 2026
I've been using OnPay for 6 years and have never run into a problem. I was able to purchase the platform online and complete setup with no instruction or additional phone calls. It is much cheaper than the big payroll companies and has all the same bells and whistles.
Pros: OnPay is a great solution for any size business. It is a great value for the money. It's easy to setup and even easier to do a payroll run. You can run your 401k, loans, medical, etc. deductions easily. You can track attendance and run reports.
Cons: I haven't run into any cons yet. I love that a payroll run takes me less than 5 minutes and I can adjust/control everything on my end without phone calls or support chat.

OnPay has been proactive, responsive, and clear at every stage. As a first-time payroll user, their support and communication made the process much easier and gave us confidence that payroll was being handled correctly.
Pros: The customer service has been excellent. Communication has been very prompt and clear, and the team was proactive in helping us get our first payroll processed successfully. This was my first time running payroll, and I really appreciated how approachable and supportive they were throughout the process.
Cons: As a new user, I don’t have any significant complaints about OnPay at this time. The platform has met our needs so far, and the customer support has been very strong, which has helped offset the learning curve.
Nancy F. · Director of Operations · Non-Profit Organization Management · January 15, 2026
My overall experience was very positive. The buying experience was easy, the hands-on customer service onboarding was stellar.
Pros: The customer service was incredible. I had a very tight deadline to buy, onboard, and run payroll. Their onboarding leader got on the phone and walked me through everything and ensured I met my payroll deadline.
Cons: I don't have any complaints. The product UX is good and fairly intuitive. The cost is very reasonable.

Great experience! Being new to payroll it's very important to find a supportive service that will be easy to navigate!
Pros: Customer support is very good and reliable. Flexible communication methods, can use email, or phone, whichever you prefer.
Cons: Not being able to set date of payroll check to be sooner to when I ran payroll l. I wish I could make the date of check closer.
Olga D. · Pharmacist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 29, 2025
Pros: We are a new organization so we had to set up a new payroll system. OnPay was very helpful in walking us through step by step.
Cons: I have no complaints thus far about OnPay. Everything is intuitive, and there are many ways to get questions answered.
Dasha M. · Operations Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · December 12, 2025
Everyone is nice but this has been a frustrating process. If you have never done payroll before I would use a different company, this has been a lot.
Pros: Everyone I have spoke with has been very nice, pricing is decent and the website seems to function well
Cons: It is NOT a one stop shop, I have to speak to 1 person/department for this, another person or department for something else and another for something else. It is a lot of transferring and not sure I am doing it right because there are so many steps and people to talk to. I am sure once fully set up it will be fine but not an easy/user friendly process for a first time person
Kallie M. · Office Manager · Biotechnology · December 8, 2025
Employees can easily log in to a mobile-friendly portal to access their pay stubs and tax documents, which saves time for administrators.
Pros: he service automatically handles all federal, state, and local tax calculations and filings with an accuracy guarantee, which provides peace of mind for business owners and saves significant time.
Cons: The software does not have built-in time tracking or scheduling tools, requiring users to rely on external integrations.
Cory R. · outside sales · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · December 3, 2025
Overall, OnPay is a fantastic company and I enjoyed utilizing their services. If it weren’t for the fact that our new POS system contains an all-in-one payroll, time keeping and taxes app, I would probably still be with OnPay.
Pros: The ease and convenience that OnPay provided was fantastic. I never had to worry if employees got paid on time or not. And then automatically taking care of payroll taxes and filing everything for me was great!
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like is that if there was anything wrong with payroll in any particular week, they completely lock you out of the account until it’s fixed. It makes it difficult to be able to tell exactly what’s going on when you can’t access your own account.
Aaron C. · Owner · Food & Beverages · November 22, 2025
5 stars - completely satisfied. Their communication is second to none. Every question was answered and explained thoroughly
Pros: Great payroll service - website is very user friendly with some nice features - running payroll is straight forward - everything needed is displayed on one page - the service is reasonably priced. The absolute best part is their onboarding process with a zoom meeting to run the first payroll.
Cons: being in different time zones which is common but nothing to dislike about the company at all. Great experience.
Robert R. · President · Information Technology and Services · November 15, 2025
Overall, it worked for us with the transparent pricing and predictable costs. Very easy to use and we wanted something you can get up and running quickly. It handles payroll across a few states, but I don’t need a huge enterprise HR/Pay ecosystem.
Pros: The setup is quick and painless, the interface is intuitive, and it doesn’t take tons of training to get going. It supports unlimited monthly pay runs for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors, handles multi-state payroll, direct deposit/check/debit card payments. Great customer support, especially during onboarding. Great fit for small businesses. Good value with a set base price.
Cons: While it integrates with accounting/time tools, the number of integrations is fewer than many competitors. Also, there isn’t a strong native mobile app for employers. For companies that need robust timeclock, scheduling, or job-costing features built into payroll, OnPay might require external tools.

Seamless, easy, manageable, consumer friendly website.
Pros: OnPay has made setting up my payroll easy and manageable. I was assigned an account manager, a real person, who met with me to understand my payroll needs and walked me through the set up process from start to finish. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Cons: Nothing, from the very beginning, Onpay walked me through the entire process with a real live person and not a chatbot.
Susan C. · CEO · Investment Management · October 31, 2025
From the first sign up to now, it’s been amazing. We got the first month free which really helped us learn and see the functions without the pressure. Onboarding was seamless and customer service is amazing.
Pros: The onboarding assistance, the price, and the intuitive system. I appreciate that their team made it easy to transition over and the price is amazing for its value.
Cons: I do not have any complaints at this time. I think the platform looks nice and so far it’s been no issue.
Ashlee B. · Operations Manager · Financial Services · October 16, 2025
Since the beginning, the customer support with OnPay has been phenomenal. The onboarding was very smooth. The product itself is very easy to use. The value for the money is great.
Pros: Ease of use, the portal is very clean and not overwhelming. Customer support, they have been very available and helpful. Value for money.
Cons: No time clock feature. It would be helpful to have this feature available in order to keep track of hourly employees time more easily.
Tara M. · APN · Hospital & Health Care · October 6, 2025
I've very please with OnPay. The customer support is extremely helpful and the website is very easy to navigate.
Pros: The customer support was extremely helpful! Anytime you call looking for assistance, OnPay has the answers right away!
Cons: I have no negative comments. I've only ever had positive interactions with OnPay staff. They are very helpful!
Stephen G. · Treasurer · Law Enforcement · September 24, 2025
I am very happy with OnPay and so glad I switched to them from my previous payroll software. I would highly reccommend them. They made the switch easy and I love that I can easily send in a request and actually get an answer same day or next day.
Pros: Great Value for the Money, Customer Support is AMAZING!!!! How to tutorials are clear and easy to understand.
Cons: The system does have a learning curve as it's not necessarily clear on first use how to do what you need however they make finding the answer very easy.
Sarah H. · CEO · Retail · September 18, 2025
Overall, very pleased with the experience! Had some reservations about the process; as an accountant I'm used to doing the data entry. It ended up being a great experience and I was so happy to have a direct point of contact to ask questions and check in on the process.
Pros: Serves agricultural clients, fair pricing. Pleased with the onboarding specialist who was very helpful in answering questions - having a direct line to them ended up being more valuable than I expected.
Cons: Requirement that they enter the data as it really tightened up my timeline to transition (but it worked great in the end)
Angie D. · Accountant · Farming · September 2, 2025
Everything was easy, the onpay team was very responsive and quick to answer my questions. I am still navigating tools but it is pretty intuitive.
Pros: After searching and looking for a payroll provider, I ended up with onpay. The deciding factor was the value. As a small/micro business my payroll is not consistent so i enjoyed the flexibility of having unlimited payroll and states. The response time was also very impressive. I also like the ease of onboarding and working with the platform.
Cons: I dislike that there is not an option to suspend the account for the months that i will not need it.
Marylenny I. · Owner · Environmental Services · August 23, 2025
Pros: The interface is clear and easy to learn. Payroll automates easily, and customer support is fast and very available.
Cons: I just tried OnPay for payroll, and the experience is already quite smooth. I plan to explore its use further soon to simplify my HR tasks.
Guerline S. · Payroll Office Manager · Telecommunications · August 14, 2025
As a small nonprofit, we have had a great experience and overall would highly recommend for small companies.
Pros: The pros of OnPay are it's ease of use and affordability. I've never worried about getting payroll documents filed.
Cons: The on-boarding of new staff can be a bit challenging to get figured out. This is one area that could use some updating.
Jessica R. · Director of Operations · Mental Health Care · June 12, 2025
Fantastic! Moving from our old payroll system to this one was a huge upgrade. The transition was so simple and any time I call with a question, it is answered quickly and kindly.
Pros: How user friendly it is. If anyone is afraid to go to an online payroll system, I recommend this one. It’s extremely easy to navigate.
Cons: The reports aren’t as user friendly as I would like. I have to print off several different reports to get all the info I need.
Jackie C. · Clinic manager · Health, Wellness and Fitness · May 9, 2025
Very user friendly, allows self service for employees. Also allows updates to tax elections.
Pros: Ease of use for both administrator and user. It also allows you to view W-2s and change information as needed.
Cons: Being the admin seems to limit personal user capabilities. Unable to make updates when you are the admin.
