It was a pleasure to deal with such patient, kind and courteous people. As difficult as it was to initiate the authentication process with me to be able to file my petition, they stayed with me until it was accomplished. I will be forever grateful for your professional and courteous help!
Pros: This is not exaggeration. They are the best beyond question! With the new complex authentication security requirements for filing petitions in bankruptcy court, I was at the point of giving up after so many attempts. Both [sensitive content hidden] spent hours of their precious time with me until I finally succeed. Thank you [sensitive content hidden] . You are wonderful!
Cons: I can honestly find no fault whatsoever with Nextchapter. The extreme patience you demonstrated with me was an outstanding quality I wish more people and companies would show for their customers.

Overall, we have really enjoyed using this software for our comprehensive case management and anticipate future use. Thank you for the great platform and customer service. We would recommend!
Pros: We have really enjoyed using NextChapter for case management so far. The platform is very user-friendly with logical case flow, file previews with data inputs being very straightforward. As a collaborative tool, it provides real-time updates with our internal stakeholder contributions and makes case progression simplified. One of our favorite things that stands above other management systems that we have used is the friendly and attentive customer service. We have had several instances where we had a question or issue arise that needed more than the platform Q&A. Every time, the agent exemplified a level of customer service that is rare. They were careful to understand the issue and provide options to resolution or suggestion to a work around.

Cons: So far, we’ve only encountered one limitation. Expanding the CSV import/export functionality to include more detailed case information fields would be extremely beneficial. When working with large volumes of data, manual entry is simply not a practical solution. That said, when we raised this concern, the support team was receptive and understood the need. They submitted the suggestion for consideration in a future product update, which we appreciated.

great, I think it could use some layout changes but it is a great start for now. Thank you for having a good product
Pros: I like how user friendly it is, how accessible it is and all the information that is available to us in a page
Cons: having to go to 20 different pages to find general info. Like, I would like to see PACERS more accessible to the first page.

More than anything else, the customer service is impeccable, prompt and friendly. AND. they listen to your suggestions to improve and ACTUALLY implement.
Pros: I was using ancient bankruptcy software for years, and they sold out and tried to sell me to their acquirer, Best Case. Just then, NextChapter was in beta and I agreed to test it. I immediately thought it was the best iteration that this program could ever be. 3 years later, I feel even more convinced. I can't think of software that I found more suited for any purpose...kudos to the Next Chapter team.
Cons: Some of the flow is a little confusing, and takes some getting used to, but once you get it, it is a piece of cake.

My experience has been fantastic. Great product for the value. I have been using Next Chapter off and on for the past few years. I work at a small firm (3 attorneys) and I am the only paralegal. NextChapter has been a lifesaver for me when I needed answers (and forms) in a pinch.
Pros: I like the ease of use and learning curve. It takes me minutes to find any answers to questions I might have, allowing me to continue to work more efficiently.
Cons: I do not use NextChapter often enough to have discovered any dislikes. In my limited experience, I have been able to enjoy a non-hassle experience.

I've been using nextchapter for many years (started using it when it was in its infancy and when you couldn't file directly through nextchapter) and convinced three other law firms to use nextchapter as well. It has gotten better and better with each passing year.
Pros: I like the interface and the ease of data entry. I also like that the court notices are available to me. Filing cases has been much easier as well.
Cons: I don't like that batch downloads don't have the docket numbers on the entries when they have them in the nextchapter pacer notices section. I would like to be able to file more documents through nextchapter with attachments to them.

NextChapter has been a great source for our non profit organization. We assist homeless veterans and having the ability to file cases on a pro bono basis is an amazing resource. Everyone that we have had contact at NextChapter has also been very helpful and prompt in their responses. The customer service has been great even though our cases have all been pro bono so far. We will definitely continue to use NextChapter for our pro bono clients, and also our paying clients when we start expanding our services. Thank you for your amazing work.
Pros: The ease of use and the organization it provides. The software assembles all of the schedules and paperwork in a straightforward way. Additionally, it makes the filing of the actual petition so much easier than going through the actual bankruptcy portals.
Cons: We had no issues with the software but maybe having a "pick up where you left off ability" would help to quickly see what is next to do for a particular petition.

This is the absolute worst company - do NOT do business with them. The schedules the populate are not accurate, their plans are not compliant and I just found out over the past over 2 years they stole more than $700 of my money from credit reports I have ordered through their site with xactus
Pros: absolutely nothing - they are the worst company ever
Cons: Plans are non-compliant and they stole over $700 in my money I paid for credit reports

I really enjoy using NextChapter as a cloud-based system to manage and file Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies. My interactions with NextChapter staff has been extremely positive and everyone has been eager to help me when I have questions. The interface is intuitive and user friendly, which has greatly decreased the time spent putting together the bankruptcy petition.
Pros: NextChapter is intuitive and user friendly. The system interface populates the necessary fields on the bankruptcy petition, which makes it easier and less time consuming to complete a bankruptcy petition. All of my interactions with NextChapter and its associates has been positive! Everyone is responsive and eager to assist if I ever have any questions or need help.
Cons: When I am entering information on lawsuits and judgment liens the information doesn't seem to cross-populate so I need to go back and double check those entries.

Very happy with the system. Always finding something else I can put to good use!
Pros: I have been so very happy with our Firm's decision to switch over to Next Chapter. There are SO MANY features that have made my job easier. Setting up email reminders so clients turn in paperwork, take credit classes, etc., are invaluable. I don't have to be the one to constantly remember to do this for each and every client anymore. I can text clients through next chapter so they don't have access to my personal phone. The flow of entering a case is easy, clear and you are able to easily move around. They have a complete online Help library that walks you through doing anything on their system and truly nice online chat help. Very happy we make the switch to Next Chapter!
Cons: Honestly, I have not found anything that deserves a con.
Jeannie B. · Legal Assistant · Law Practice · February 13, 2025
I work for Atlanta Legal Aid, we are a not for profit that has a very limited bankruptcy practice. This makes it easy for us to file simple chapter 7 cases.
Pros: Easy to use and print forms and filings.
Cons: It was had to get past autobot responses and speak to a customer service representative.
Kristen M. · Attorney · Legal Services · February 13, 2025
Very positive. The various product tiers have allowed me to comfortable ramp up my business in linear fashion.
Pros: Straightforward and very practical. The help section is usually useful as well.
Cons: Perhaps not being able to remove old case shells when it didn't end up going forward. The help range could be a bit more comprehensive.
James O. · Owner attorney · Law Practice · February 13, 2025
Our firm has been exclusively using NextChapter to prepare Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies are a few years. I discovered the product during a google search for a cloud product that we could utilize on a case by case basis. I signed up for the free trial and it met all of my expectations.
Pros: NextChapter is very user friendly and easy to navigate. As a small law firm, we don't have the need for a product license, and NextChapter's " pay as you go" feature is convenient and cost effective for the 1-3 cases a year we file. The case setup and schedule organization is easy to navigate when entering debtor information. Adding creditors is very simple and you can save common creditors to avoid retyping for each case.
Cons: It can be a little tricky at first use to decipher how all of the information is linked and displayed on the schedules. I utilize the "preview" feature frequently to confirm the information I entered is displayed in the correct schedule/location of the petition. There is a learning curve, but after familiarizing yourself through trial/error you understand the process.
April L. · Paralegal · Law Practice · February 13, 2025
I am fairly new to the platform, but overall it has been easy to use.
Pros: It's user friendly! NextChapter is a game-changer for legal professionals. Streamlined workflows, robust features, and excellent support make it a must-have for any firm.
Cons: A more intuitive search feature that anticipates user errors, understands variations in input, and delivers relevant results quickly would be great!
Lou P. · Intake Advocate · Law Practice · February 13, 2025
Very positive overall. Most troubles that we ran in to had to do with the learning curve of having switched from a different product. I do feel that this product is the "better" system for entering and managing the data, but it may take some time to conceptualize if you're transitioning from a different system, especially when it comes to determining how data is linked amongst the various forms. There are a number of features we have yet to implement or explore but that are very appealing.
Pros: The product is very adept in managing data entry; the responsiveness of the product to the addition, deletion, or editing of data is instantaneous. No buffering or timing out! The 'help' resource is the most comprehensive I have experienced and is very useful in walking you through how to use features and provides step by step instructions (with visuals) for things like e-filing.
Cons: We are just beginning to utilize the My Chapter client portal feature. So far, we wish some adjustments could be made, such as being able to review the data entry in pdf format prior to having to first submit/accept it to the portal. It would also be nice if this process wasn't 'all or nothing', meaning that a client cannot subsequently add additional information via the portal. While we understand the how and why, hopefully upgrades can be made in the future.

Pros: NextChapter is a great bang for the buck program. It has good easy to use interface and pretty much all the features I need to work on a typical consumer bankruptcy.
Cons: Some of the features that would be helpful such as the Chapter 13 Plan come as add-ons and can make the cost add up quick.
Evan H. · Lawyer · Law Practice · February 15, 2024
Excellent experience from the very beginning. There was plenty of information available before the purchase of the service allowing our firm to make an informed decision about the software. The support staff has been very informative and responds very quickly to help requests. The software is very intuitive and the online help center provides good explanations of the entry process.
Pros: Speed of software, intuitive interface, and the very helpful customer support.
Cons: CMI entry and multiple social security number entries are slightly cumbersome, relative to the ease of all other functions. POC's in the PACER Notices have to be opened and labeled.
Mike W. · Paralegal Office Manager · Law Practice · February 15, 2024
Wonderful, allows me to view the case docs with a click of a button.
Pros: It takes some time to become proficient in usage, but, when the light comes on you can and will appreciate what it offers
Cons: Sometimes, the internet causes slow downs in logging on.
Cecil H. · Attorney · Legal Services · January 12, 2024
My overall experience is once you get familiar with where all the forms are this program is really easy to use.
Pros: The ease of using the program along with the added customer service are a few pros of the program.
Cons: The program has only one Con which is all the forms to file a BK should all me located in the same place of all the other initial filing forms.
Danielle L. · Assistant · Legal Services · January 10, 2024
Overall this product is easy to use and the customer service team is wonderful, answers all questions in a timely manner.
Pros: Ease of putting clients information into computer and keeping track of clients filed.
Cons: When writing a message to clients having to type and send multiple times to complete the message.
Carol K. · Paralegal · Law Practice · January 10, 2024
Great value and ease of use.
Pros: Great cost if you're a practitioner who isn't filing a lot of cases. Relatively easy to use, but still working through differences from previously used software.
Cons: Getting used to using NextChapter. Working through differences from previous software. Can usually figure out how different features work.
Mary C. · Attorney · Law Practice · August 10, 2023
I have had an excellent experience with NextChapter. It is easy to use and an excellent option
Pros: No need to invest in software and pay for licensing and updates which is expensive. It is a pay per use option that is affordable
Cons: Need to edit schedules for minor errors and omissions before filing with the court
Pamela G. · Attorney · Law Practice · May 19, 2023
Pros: The step by step schedules make it easy to train new employees on the software. The integration of the credit report also saves time. All schedules are easy to navigate.
Cons: When filing the Attorney Fee Disclosure it does not always update immediately. Although the credit report integration is useful, addresses are often wrong and need to be corrected.
Doris H. · Administrative Assistant · Law Practice · May 17, 2023
Overall the program is good. We have completed 3-4 filings through this NextChapter.
Pros: We really love and needed the cloud option, as the staff work remotely. The Client portal is a must, the clients have had no issues completing the information, and the data has had no issues populating the correct documents. Love the Petition check list that ensures all the information is complete before Petition Filing.
Cons: Not too happy that only the initial filing of the petition can be done through the program. Would be nice if there was an easy way to integrate mail of documents to creditors, when needed. Local forms are not user friendly to complete, better off downloading Word versions from the Court's website. We ran into an issue where the Suite numbers of addresses were not included in the creditor matrix... due to the client's use of "#"... would be nice to have some type of warning, as it is a headache to fix with the court. Would be nice to be able to manage files of debtor cases we had prior to switching to Next Chapter, and/or matters where we represent a creditor.
Sophia S. · Para · Legal Services · September 8, 2022
Pros: NextChapter divides an excellent integration with our practice management software Clio and provides online access for the software to be used anywhere an Internet connection is available.
Cons: We transitioned from best case to next chapter. Best case has a nice feature for analyzing the monthly decrease a client would need in gross income to qualify for the means test. The analysis breaks it out over one month, two months, three months, four months, five months, or six months. While certainly not a dealbreaker, it would be a nice feature to have.
