Weebly excelled as a beginner‑friendly, dependable website builder. It made launching a site fast and unintimidating, especially for small organizations, classrooms, or users who needed a functional web presence without a steep learning curve. The drag‑and‑drop interface, built‑in hosting, and straightforward editing tools made day‑to‑day updates easy—even for non‑technical users.
Pros: Ease of Use: The drag‑and‑drop editor made it very approachable, even for users with little to no web design experience. You could get a site up quickly without touching code. Clean, Structured Layouts: Weebly encouraged simple, well-organized page layouts, which helped keep sites visually clean and easy to navigate. All‑in‑One Platform: Hosting, templates, basic SEO tools, and forms were built in, so you didn’t need to stitch together a lot of third‑party tools to launch a functional site. Good for Small Projects: It worked especially well for small organizations, classrooms, portfolios, or basic informational sites where speed and simplicity mattered more than deep customization. Low Learning Curve for Editors: Once a site was built, non‑technical contributors could easily update text or images without breaking the design.
Cons: Limited Design Flexibility: While easy to use, the editor felt restrictive. Fine‑tuning layouts, spacing, or responsive behavior was harder compared to more modern builders. Stagnant Feature Growth: Over time, the platform didn’t seem to evolve as quickly as competitors, especially after its acquisition—new features and updates felt slow or minimal. Basic SEO & Blogging Tools: SEO controls and blogging functionality were fairly surface‑level, which made it less ideal for content‑heavy or growth‑focused sites. Template Constraints: Once you chose a theme, switching or deeply customizing it could be cumbersome without redesigning large portions of the site. Less Control for Advanced Users: For users who wanted more backend access, custom integrations, or advanced functionality, Weebly quickly hit a ceiling.

Good intro on how to build a website. Stopped using because "Weebly" has to be in the domain name, and makes the website handle super long.
Pros: VALUE FOR MONEY - free option CUSTOMER SUPPORT - decent BUGS AND ISSUES - haven't experienced ONLINE STORE - solid
Cons: EASE OF USE - can be a challenge without paid version HOSTING AND DOMAIN - Domain name must include "Weebly" in free version

Pros: It is very easy to use, from students to seniors can use it to some capcity. It provides great templates to jumpstart and all process is smooth
Cons: For basic use it is good but lacks customizable features, also there are few bugs and lags that can be improved

Pros: Maybe the only benefit to this basic website builder is that it deeply integrates with Square, which is only beneficial if you solely rely on Square for your products.
Cons: The templates they provide are lacking in design and functionality. Most if not all Weebly sites are very basic.

After over 10 yrs hosting my website I… After over 10 yrs hosting my website I get 4x the regular fee taken out of my bank. No explanation. After months of trying to get an answer I cancelled and got lame excuses why they ‘upgraded’ me and charged me 4x more. They said they’d give a refund and did not. The replies were somewhat arrogant too, AVOID
Pros: Not much. It was easy initially to setup but is very old tech now. Much better alternatives available
Cons: They have bad customer service and after over ten years they overcharged me by 4x without reason or consultation. I’ve cancelled!!

Only used for a few specific projects, and it works well. It’s cheap, very easy to use, and delivers what it promises.
Pros: Very cheap, intuitive drag-and-drop editor, nice templates, and easy setup for simple website creation.
Cons: Limited customization, weaker SEO tools, and fewer advanced features restrict flexibility for users wanting more control or scaling.

Overall, Weebly has been a great tool to help me build websites when I didn't have any web development or programming experience. Additionally, they make it easy to publish websites for free with no subscription needed.
Pros: It has all the tools you need to build a website, like a blog or a professional website about you, without needing to start from scratch or do any of the programming or web server hosting or database management. Weebly handles all of the back end stuff for you. Therefore, the cost to build a website is free and you don't need any web development or programming experience.
Cons: Sometimes, when creating websites, even if you publish the website, it is not always visible on Google even if Weebly tells you it will be. Additionally, the site is too simplistic and doesn't offer advanced features that are part of websites in 2025.

I've used weebly for over 10 years and it's my go-to every time I want to develop a new site without having to do any coding etc
Pros: It's super easy to use, and has great features, some of which I haven't seen elsewhere. The customer support is also great and they allow you to use your own .weebly.com domain for free!
Cons: No student discounts yet, but they are very generous and will help you. It would be nice to have a free trial of some sorts .

Pros: It is a great starter website builder, especially if you have a small store with a limited inventory
Cons: Once you start adding a lot of customization to your website, the experience goes downhill quickly and then you have to migrate your whole site.
Jacob B. · Manager · Health, Wellness and Fitness · August 9, 2025
Pros: loved the drag and drop tools and professional designs. it was simple to make a professional looking website but had all the tools I needed.
Cons: some of the watermarks and .Weebly web addresses can be frustrating for new users or those using the free version.

Users can create beautiful web pages easily with Weebly. However, that simplicity can restrict some aspects of customization.
Pros: Weebly's drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to build website pages from the front end. The interface is simple to navigate, and a new website can be created fairly quickly.
Cons: Sometimes simple to use is too simple. Not having access to the HTML code is limiting. Also, trying to get the Image elements in the correct places and to stay put during editing can be challenging.

I've been using weebly for over 6 years for 3 different websites and it's great - I can great dynamic, aesthetic, and unique sites easily with this software.
Pros: It's easy to use, even for a beginner. I can create great looking websites, format photos and text easily, embed code and widgets, and customize everything I need to.
Cons: If a photo has the same name and another photo you've used, it may display the correct photo on the builder but the wrong photo on the live web site.

Overall I would recommend Weebly for anyone new to web design and just starting out.
Pros: Very modern UI and easy to use drag and drop website builder. It also has built in e-commerce and account management features.
Cons: Since it got bought over by Square, the price has gone up extremely and is hard for small businesses.
Brian M. · COO · Consumer Electronics · May 5, 2025
I've hosted my website with Weebly for many years now, and have been able to do almost all of the maintenance and design myself.
Pros: I was able to design my own website with relatively little knowledge about website programming.
Cons: It seems like most people don't use Weebly compared to Wix and Squarespace, and some things don't integrate with my page.
Cassidy W. · Health Coach · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 14, 2025
With Weebly, I have been able to create stunning websites without coding and hosting them at an affordable price.
Pros: Weebly allocates a wide array of website builder and eCommerce tools in one space. It only involves drag-and-drop to create and design websites without coding. Availability of built-in SEO services is another great aspect that I like most about Weebly.
Cons: Weebly rarely pose bugs on my end while creating and designing websites and landing pages.
Bailey U. · Founder and Web Developer · Design · April 10, 2025
Overall, Weebly is a great option for anyone who wants to get a website up and running quickly without much hassle.
Pros: I loved how easy Weebly made it to build a website, especially with no coding experience.
Cons: The design flexibility can feel restricted if you want something really unique
Heldor G. · Manager · Mental Health Care · April 9, 2025
Overall it’s not a bad website builder to use especially if you are just starting out.
Pros: It helped me get started with my e-commerce website.
Cons: It’s not highly customizable and I have had issues with page updates.
Sadie H. · Owner operator · Cosmetics · April 7, 2025
I had a positive experience with Weebly and would recommend it for those who are just starting out to have an online presence.
Pros: Very easy to use and customize without compromising SEO. Even adding products for online shop and it is a powerful feature. Page designs are modern and up to date with the trend.
Cons: Pricey. Few themes only. Domain registration also pricey.
Justin Z. · Freelance Web Developer · Information Technology and Services · March 26, 2025
I have enjoyed it this far and it has worked out very well. I have no complaints.
Pros: I liked the fact that you can set up a store with multiple items for physical purchase only with a small device connected to your phone.
Cons: I would love to have tried the larger device (pos), but my business had not yet qualified to get this one.
Latoria M. · Singer Songwriter · Entertainment · March 5, 2025
Pros: It is so easy to build a site. They have great templates and have chat assistance which is also super helpful when trying to build a new site.
Cons: nothing. It is very user friendly and I look forward to continued use
Ashley G. · speaker · Public Relations and Communications · March 2, 2025
Pros: Ease of use to navigate between pages. Edit, remove, and add items with easily. Not too expensive to get a starter site for a business going
Cons: The different options to arrange pictures, sometime they don't end up where you want them or they load to the site in a different size.
Ashleigh H. · Owner · Construction · February 28, 2025
Overall the experience has been pleasant even though there was a disruption on how the service was provided.
Pros: The old weebly before the buyout was easy to use and the customer service was extremely helpful. It's gotten better over the years but it's still hard to use with the changes.
Cons: The cost dramatically went up when it was bought out.
Christian E. · Owner · Marketing and Advertising · February 14, 2025
Good for beginners and simple websites, but may not be the best choice for growing businesses.
Pros: Easy to use. Simple and uncluttered, making it a good choice for people with limited technical skills. Offers a free plan and paid plans that are cheaper than other sites. Attractive themes that are responsive to different devices.
Cons: There is no way to recover deleted content.
Jessica R. · Administrative Assistant · Construction · January 17, 2025
It has been great overall, no big complaints.
Pros: The ease of use and ability to have our backend system connected to it for web banners, subscriber listing, member join form and more
Cons: The only negative aspect is the template cache we need to use for we pgae updates. We don't use it often but sometimes forget to run it when doing big time edits which limits the amount of time a oage may be fuklly updated.
Anonymous User · Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · January 13, 2025
It is effective to use among small groups and allows for information to be easily stored and accessed, though it is hard to have an attractive design.
Pros: The interface is easy to navigate. It allows you to quickly create a website for personal or professional use.
Cons: While the interface is easy to navigate, it is difficult to create a sleek and modern design using the platform. It would be difficult for an organization to make a very attractive website using this platform.
