My overall experience with Clio has been positive. It provides a reliable all-in-one system for managing cases, client communication, calendaring, billing, and documents, which helps streamline daily operations and improve organization. The platform is intuitive and accessible remotely, making it convenient for both office and mobile use. While there are some limitations with customization and the cost can increase as additional features or users are added, overall it has been an effective tool for improving workflow efficiency and keeping client matters organized.
Pros: What I liked most about Clio is its user-friendly interface and the ability to keep everything organized in one place. The platform made it easy to manage client communications, my calendar, billing, documents, and case tasks efficiently without needing multiple systems. I also appreciated the automation features, secure client portal, and the ability to access files remotely, which helped improve workflow and communication with clients.

Cons: What I liked least about Clio was that certain features and integrations can become expensive as your firm grows, especially when adding multiple users or advanced tools. Some customization options also felt limited, and there can be a learning curve when setting up workflows, automations, and reports exactly how you want them. In addition, occasional syncing delays or integration issues with third-party programs could sometimes interrupt efficiency.

Overall I am happy with Clio. It is not a perfect system and I sometimes find myself having to adjust to the software where I am constrained by limitations of the software that could be easily fixed by Clio.
Pros: I appreciate the ability to manage an entire case on a single platform. The ability to keep an overall schedule as well as a calendar for each case which then syncs to my Google calendar for me to view on my phone is invaluable. Additionally, the ability to keep documents on Clio's servers and then access them wherever I have internet access allows me to travel much more lightly while avoiding the concern that I will not have the document I need when I need it or that a paper document will be lost. The ability to create templates for commonly used pleadings and then automatically populate them with information from a case frees up much of the time I would have spent doing repetitive work.
Cons: I wish there was more freedom to customize Clio to work for me rather than having to adjust to work within the bounds of Clio. For example, many times I will have hearings or meetings with a client that involve multiple cases for the same client. I am only able to associate a calendar entry with a single case, so I am left with the options of having a single calendar entry associated with only one of the client's cases or having multiple calendar entries for the same event.

Overall, my experience with Clio has been very positive. It has significantly helped streamline my practice management, improve my internal organization, and makes it easier to manage my legal work efficiently. I would highly recommend Clio to law firms or legal professionals looking for a reliable and comprehensive practice management platform.
Pros: What I appreciate most about the Clio system is how effectively it keeps everything organized in one central location. Having matters, documents, billing, calendar items, and client communications all easily accessible has made my management process much more straightforward. The platform is also user-friendly and has significantly helped save time on my day-to-day administrative tasks. It has been a valuable tool for my practice.
Cons: There is a learning curve at the beginning, especially when setting up workflows and getting familiar with all of the various and numerous, available features. However, once you become accustomed to Clio, it becomes much easier to navigate and use effectively.

Pros: It's intuitive and is always being updated to improve but never in an overwhelming way. Billing and payments is simple for us an the clients and document sharing with firm is top-notch.
Cons: It's pricey. I don't want to become reliant on it in case the price exceeds my budget. I wish there was a discount for using more features.

Great! Their support is always super helpful if I have any issues. They are always coming out with new products to help improve my productivity.
Pros: I love Clio! I have worked at numerous firms and been involved with numerous case management systems. Clio is my favorite!
Cons: No complaints. I have used Clio at my last firm and the firm I am currently at and have not had any complaints.
Allison G. · Attorney · Legal Services · May 15, 2026
I would recommend Clio to other firms. It is very easy to track important case information and sync.
Pros: When there are questions to be asked, accessibility to support staff is something you can depend on and they are always very friendly and willing to help.
Cons: Visually, Clio looks a bit outdated, however, that is also what makes it very easy to use and navigate.
Sonia A. · Legal Assistant · Law Practice · May 14, 2026
My overall experience has been successful and I enjoy using Clio. The interface is easy to use and access.
Pros: The interface is very user friendly and easy to access. It is straightforward to easily access files. Billing is also straightforward and easy to access.
Cons: There are not many perks in the interface in total. However, the transitioning between clio and our previous software was easy to access.

Excellent. I recommended it to my cousin for her husband's law firm I like it so much! They are great with support when I have questions.
Pros: I love the ease of tracking time on a matter, easily creating new matters for previous clients, emailing to a matter to keep track of correspondence and documents.
Cons: If you start a matter in Clio Manage, it doesn't link it to the client in Clio Grow. Just remember to start in Clio Grow and it is fine!

It really has evolved since I first used it 6 years ago- love that they are constantly improving, adding new features, and are always offering opportunities for us to learn and become more efficient.
Pros: The constant improvements, new features, response to customer ideas and suggestions- they really listen, and prompt service/inquiries response
Cons: Nothing I don't like- but perhaps we could have special pricing for smaller firms (1-3 people)- as opposed to having pricing for each user with additions that become available. For example, to add more than 3 courts for court rules, there is an additional cost to upgrade; or to get AI Manage, license per user- where perhaps in a small firm having a "firm" license price might be more effective.
Sandra A. · Paralegal · Law Practice · May 13, 2026
Pros: It's ease of use - it is very user friendly and has all of the features a firm, big or small, needs to run their practice efficiently.
Cons: The limit on products available in Canada. As a Canadian user it is frustrating not to have all of the product line.

CLIO has been fantastic and we have no plans to discontinue our partnership with them in our firm. They have helped greatly with our productivity and task management and we have had great feedback from the client side (billing, document transmission, etc.)
Pros: CLIO has been a wonderful addition to our office platforms at our firm. It's easy to use, houses all of our client information and document storage, houses our calendar and allows for easy management of multiple schedules, billing and inner office communication.
Cons: CLIO has so many new additions constantly - and while they are great at promoting the new additions, the integration hasn't always been as seamless or knowing who to contact when needing more information on the programs.
Julianna D. · Paralegal · Legal Services · May 12, 2026
My experience with Clio has been a game-changer for everyday work life. I can't even remember life without it! It's the most helpful tool we use at our firm, genuinely. It's a great system and our favorite here.
Pros: I like how organized Clio keeps me. From the calendar to the notes. It's our mail tool for the work day. We'd be lost without it. It's so easy to use once you get the hang of it.
Cons: I wouldn't necessarily say I dislike anything about Clio. I do wish somehow it could somehow indicate if we are creating a duplicate contact. But that's okay, it's not a big deal.
Nancy A. · Paralegal · Law Practice · May 12, 2026
Overall, our experience with Clio has been positive. I particularly love how forward thinking Clio is as a brand and they continue to challenge the way that law serves the community. It is a strong platform for firms that want to stay organized, improve client experience, and centralize operations. Like any system, though, it works best when the firm already has strong processes and accountability in place.
Pros: From my perspective, Clio has been a really solid platform for managing a modern law firm. One of the biggest positives is that it is fairly easy to use compared to a lot of other legal software. It brings together calendaring, matter management, billing, documents, client communication, payments, and workflows all in one place, which helps create more consistency across the firm and a better experience for clients. It has also been helpful from an operational standpoint because the cloud-based setup makes remote work and accessibility much easier. Without Clio we would have had a really difficult time navigating the Covid years. I also think Clio does a good job with integrations. It connects with a lot of the other tools firms already use, which helps avoid having everything live in separate systems. The client-facing features like payment links, portals, and scheduling tools also make things feel more streamlined and professional for clients.
Cons: A few frustrations - like most platforms, it is geared toward firms that bill by the hour and we do not. Reporting is one of the weaker areas, especially if you want detailed operational data or more customized tracking. As the firm grows, you also start to notice that some workflows feel a little rigid, and there are times where you have to adjust your process to fit the system. Costs can also add up quickly once you start adding users, integrations, and additional features. Also, our initial migration did not go well, but Clio bent over backwards to remedy the situation which we greatly appreciated.

My overall experience with Clio has been very positive. As a probate paralegal handling multiple active matters, Clio has helped me stay organized, improve communication with clients, track deadlines, manage billing, and maintain efficient case management. The platform has become an essential part of our firm’s daily operations and has greatly improved productivity.
Pros: Clio has made managing probate matters significantly more organized and efficient. I especially appreciate the document management system, billing/invoicing features, and the ability to keep all case communications and deadlines in one centralized platform. It is very user-friendly and helps streamline day-to-day workflow in a busy law office. The integration with tools like e-signature platforms and email tracking has also been extremely helpful.
Cons: Some features can take time to fully learn when first starting out, and occasional syncing or formatting issues can happen with uploaded documents. However, overall the platform is very reliable and the benefits outweigh the minor inconveniences.
Audri S. · Probate Paralegal · Law Practice · May 12, 2026
Pros: Our family law firm has been using Clio for almost 7 years. It has helped us stand out from other firms by providing easy communication and case efficiency. Our team loves the ability to manage documents and share with our clients. And the customer support is unbeatable.
Cons: I do wish that Clio was all inclusive rather than having to purchase features separately. For smaller firms it because cost prohibitive to use all of the options.
Rochelle O. · CEO · Law Practice · May 12, 2026
Overall, Clio has been a solid investment for my practice. Since implementing it seven months ago, it's become central to how I operate, from client intake through case closure and billing. The platform handles the core functions I need well: case management is intuitive, the document drafting and template features have genuinely improved my output speed and accuracy, and time tracking integrates smoothly with the billing workflow. That said, there is one frustration worth mentioning: the credit card processing fees add up quickly. If clients elect to pay via credit card with any frequency, that cost structure can feel steep and eats into what would otherwise be a strong value proposition. If I elect to pass the cost on to the client, they lose the ability to use Apple Pay, which is why I haven't yet elected to do that.
Pros: The integrated workflow across intake, case management, document drafting, and billing has been transformative for my practice. In seven months, Clio has significantly streamlined how I handle client intakes and document preparation. What used to be scattered across multiple systems now flows seamlessly in one place. Specifically, the document management and drafting features let me build and reuse templates efficiently, which has made my output faster and more consistent. Paired with the time tracking and case management tools, I can see the full picture of each matter from intake through invoicing without jumping between platforms. The time tracking integration with billing is particularly valuable; I'm capturing hours accurately as we work rather than reconstructing time logs later. It's made me more efficient and reduced the errors that come from manual data entry and disjointed systems.
Cons: It is expensive for a solo practitioner. Having to pay additional fees for each state's template library seems unnecessary. May attorneys are licensed in multiple jurisdictions.
Rendi A. · Attorney · Law Practice · May 12, 2026
Pros: Very easy to use to keep track of documents and my calendar. Very easy to keep track of email communications and telephone calls.
Cons: I wish there was a message feature. So that when calls come in the messages can be forwarded to by Clio and saved to the file along with the message.
Melissa B. · Attorney · Law Practice · May 12, 2026
I have been using Clio at various forms for almost 7 years and I love it. I won’t use any other software for my firm
Pros: Clio takes all the hassle out of billing. I can enter time from my phone, complete and tablet. I love the ease of use and the capability it has
Cons: It is expensive but completely worth it. I also wish I could close bills in the app because then I’d be able to get paid more quickly.
Chandler V. · Paralegal · Legal Services · May 12, 2026
Very happy with Clio. Keep our firm working smoothly. Could not imagine managing our practice without it.
Pros: Great customer service and very easy to use. The product it very intuitive and helps manage our firms documents and calendar.
Cons: The document loading sometimes takes some time to load. Also the docusign can glitch but that has been working better lately.

Pros: Based off 26 years in the legal industry, and 6 years being a Law Firm Administrator, I appreciate Clio for all the advancements and excellent customer service they provide. Clio has a full case/client management system in the cloud, with additional features to add the ability to draft court forms, create your own formatted and drafted pleadings, it has the ability to eFile, record the time and expenses in and Bill to clients. Document management and AI features to help analyze and review internal documents with fast results. Clio has an accounting platform, which sync's to your main program, so you can stay on top of state codes that request you maintain records on IOLTA trust accounts. Clio has a CRM program, and can track client intake to help onboard clients quickly, easily and track specific referrals and marketing lines.
Cons: Hard to think of things that I don't like about Clio, but it would be great if when they imperilment new or updated features, if the notification had a link to additional detail in depth, and maybe a link to the help guides or training video.
Missy R. · Firm Administrator and Legal Assistant · Legal Services · May 11, 2026
Pros: Clio does an excellent job of combining case management, billing, calendaring, document storage, client communication, and task management into one centralized system.
Cons: Base pricing may seem reasonable, many useful features require paid add-ons such as Clio Grow, Clio Draft, or Clio Duo AI.
Timothy P. · Attorney · Law Practice · May 8, 2026
I would think twice before using another software, Clio is reliable for all of my work. The rest of my team thinks the same.
Pros: I have used Clio since I started this job and right from the start I have never had issues. The program is easy to navigate and keep track of all work completed.
Cons: There are not many cons that come to mind, whenever the program has any issues I get alerts and the issue is fixed within a couple minutes.
Maria I. · Paralegal · Law Practice · May 7, 2026
Pros: The ability to easily navigate and access necessary files. The support team response makes any issue almost non existent.
Cons: The learning curve from one product to another might be a challenge but not impossible. It takes time to learn a completely new system but Clio makes it easy to do so.
Monica M. · Paralegal · Law Practice · May 5, 2026
I have never been able to walk onto a job and learn the system they use so easily. It makes document management a breeze. The value for your money is unbelievable. I have reached to Customer service and always been greeted with friendliness. The Clio Team is awesome.
Pros: The ease of use! Learning it only took a couple of hours. Anything is fixable/editable! I can send documents to be signed or just to be received in a couple of clicks.
Cons: I genuinely can't think of one thing I do not like about Clio! Everything I do can be fixed if need be.
