My company uses in-house tests to evaluates over 20000 candidates annually for highly skilled roles. We previously scored tests manually and chose Canditech for the ability to automate scoring at scale. After assessing 10 different vendors, we were impressed with how flexible Canditech's platfom is, as well as the responsiveness of our sales lead in getting questions answered. Canditech has really thought thru the smallest details of creating a terrific candidate and HR experience.

Cons: Nothing. Throughout the selection and launch process, the team has been responsive and the product either worked as desired or we were able to find workarounds.

Pros: Great value for the money. Responsive support and strong proctoring. It shows how candidates use ChatGPT and search tools, tracks typing behavior, copy/paste, tab switching, and location changes. It also includes many accessibility features. Admin setup and ATS integration is easy.
Cons: It works very well for custom assessments, but is not a replacement for a dedicated technical assessment platform if hiring for tech roles.

Applying for a new role can be very stressful, especially since basically every company requires some type of test or project. The test I took on the Canditech platform was by far the most enjoyable experience I had and it made me a lot more interested in working for this company because I felt they really respected my time and were interested in my skills.
Pros: I’ve been on the market for a new role and I was sent a wide variety of different tests and home projects from the companies I was applying for. The company that sent me a Canditech test definitely stood out to me. I felt it was a very fair method for me to prove my skills, and the testing experience was very user friendly and engaging. I also really enjoyed having the chance to see the types of duties I would be responsible for if I got hired.
Cons: There was nothing I disliked. The pre-employment test I took through Canditech was great.

Easy communication internally on candidates’ tests.
Pros: The thumb’s up and thumbs down feature when scoring our candidates’ tests is great and a major time saver for us. If I see the hiring manager’s thumbs up on a test (along with reading their comments), I can quickly move that candidate forward without a discussion needed internally.
Cons: I wish a thumbs up would move a candidate along to the next step in our ATS.

In my previous roles in company’s that didn’t use skill assessment platforms, I spent a lot of time on writing my own pre-employment coding tests. The recruitment team was really not able to help in this area.
Pros: You don't need to be a developer to build coding tests with Canditech, and I think that's really awesome. The recruiter I was working with for my full stack roles used Canditech’s pre-made coding exercises and customized them for our company. This saved me a lot of time in building my own tests, and I could be confident that the test was fair and accurate.

We’re now easily able to understand our candidates language skill levels quickly and early on before moving forward with interviews.
Pros: We used Canditech to hire our account managers on a large scale. Most of the candidates sit in various different countries, so we used the language skill-level tests along with video responses to understand the candidates language levels at an early stage in the process. As the AM role requires direct communication with our clients, a high level of English (plus other languages) is required. We combined the language evaluation with our own tasks to test the candidates' more technical skills, which is also a huge aspect of the role.
Cons: Because we are using Canditech to assess language skills in many other languages aside from English, it would’ve been great if they offered translation services as well. However, we translated our own tests into the languages we needed or used video response questions where candidates answered prompts in their own languages.

Canditech has been a game changer for our hiring process. It’s really great to have a centralized platform for our team to review our candidates on. Also, we’re able to make much more confident decisions knowing that every project submitted by our candidates is fair and standardized.
Pros: A large aspect of the product manager role is communication skills, and the ability to illustrate points and the reasoning behind it. Prior to Canditech, we were wasting countless hours on interviewing candidates, scheduling various teammates to meet with each applicant, etc. In creating video response questions on the Canditech platform, we were able to ask candidates to describe a recent project they worked on, or just to tell us about themselves, and we really gained valuable insights, and every member of the hiring team was able to review the candidates’ responses on their own time.
Cons: We really love Canditech and their flexibility. Any requests we had for customizations were done for us.

Canditech is solving the problem of making sure our CSM’s have a solid mix of technical and communication skills.
Pros: There is a very technical aspect of our customer success roles, as they work directly with our technical clients. We look for individuals that have a good mix of CSM skills along with data analysis/technical skills (even former data analysts making career changes, etc.). For candidates with technical backgrounds but not customer-facing, it is really important for us to check their communication skills. On the other hand, for candidates with client-facing backgrounds but less technical, we need to check their technical skills.
Cons: We have an internal grading rubric we use to score our candidates and we were hoping to have this rubric embedded into the candidates test reports for us to score. It hasn’t been a big deal, though, we just copy and paste our rubric with the hiring managers scores into the comments section.

Canditech is a great platform to create holistic tests using a variety of question types.
Pros: We use Canditech for our financial analyst tests and we’re happy with the platform. It's been really great to be able to create a very holistic and well-rounded test with a variety of question types, as previously we were basically only testing general knowledge via multiple choice questions in Google Forms. With Canditech, we have a combination of multiple choice knowledge-based questions, actual real job scenario exercises using excel for data analysis, and video responses to get a sense of the candidates verbal communication. We also love that we were able to have 2 variations of the same test in both English and Hebrew.
Cons: No cons. Very comprehensive and easy to use platform

We’ve really made some great hires since implementing Canditech into our hiring process - I know the platform is an industry leader for marketing roles, so we’ve really been able to create fantastic tests and hire talented people.
Pros: Canditech has been a fantastic resource for hiring our paid acquisition manager roles. We’re really able to assess our candidates on the different facets of the role, such as budgeting and data analysis skills using Excel/Google Sheet exercises, all the way to their creativity and general marketing talent. Our Canditech test is a realistic simulation of the job - our candidates analyze real-life ad data and complete exercises that are almost identical to the actual job duties.
Cons: Not really a con, but you have to re-login often. They explained to me that this was for security purposes.

Pros: I didn’t realize how much time the team was wasting reviewing piles of CV’s before starting with Canditech. As a rapidly growing startup, we were convoluted with hundreds of applicants for every open position, and it was absolutely impossible to review each CV. Now, we send all applicants a Canditech assessment as the first step in our hiring process and use the actual data to decide who to interview.
Cons: It would be great if the platform would be able to help me to manage all the hiring processes, from application to hiring.

Canditech was really a game-changer for us in terms of marketing our culture and brand to our candidates. Also, they have a fantastic interface for creating realistic job simulations for marketing candidates.
Pros: As a marketing professional, we understand the importance of promoting our company culture to our candidates as we do with our customers. We place a high emphasis on our employer branding and candidate experience, which made the Canditech platform a no-brainer. The test intro-page provided to our candidates is beautiful and allows us to add our logo, background media, “join us” video, etc. The interface really feels like an extension of our career page and allows us to truly market ourselves to the talent pool. The tests themselves that we create really provide a smooth, engaging and realisitc experience for our marketing candidates. We’re very happy.
Cons: I honestly have nothing bad to say! Amazingly built website!

Solved the inefficiencies we had in our hiring process. Now we only interview candidates with proven skills and potential to do the job, based on their Canditech test.
Pros: Our hiring process before Canditech was totally inefficient. Every position required an initial phone call, HR interview, secondary interview with at least 2 hiring managers, etc. By adding the tests early in our funnel, we’ve saved so much time previously spent on unnecessary interviews.
Cons: The test library is impressive, however we were still lacking some tests for certain roles and had to create our own from scratch. They have a great test builder thought, so it was pretty simple and straightforward.

Canditech gave me a super quick and easy platform to build my coding tests. I really didn’t have the time to go through the training of a complicated platform, so I was specifically looking for a user-friendly and easy to use way to build tests.
Pros: The process of building the tests was really easy and straightforward. I didn’t need any training sessions from Canditech, I was able to play around with the platform and I actually really had fun building tests. I used their pre-made tests as inspiration for my own. The platform is clean, neat and very user friendly.
Cons: The tests are meant to be created as separately timed sections. Once a candidate submits a section and starts another section, they cannot go back to the previous section. If you want your candidats to have access to the entire test at once, you need to build it as 1 big section.

With Canditech we were able to quickly streamline our tests. As a result, candidates have a great experience and hiring managers have less time and effort to invest in the process.
Pros: Canditech has something called the Experts service, where you can actually upload your tests or meet with them about your tests. We were using our internal tests before Canditech, so it has been great to be able to just quickly send them the tests, have them built inside of our account, and even receive feedback on how to improve them.
Cons: We were hoping to be able to export the candidates test results for our internal purposes and also to provide the candidates with feedback. They let us know this is on their product roadmap.

Quick and easy - send the test in bulk to candidates, get back scores, compare candidates performance, and move forward with the most promising.
Pros: Canditech was really great for fast-paced hiring. We sent out a backend test for 50 applicants over the weekend and the next week already interviewed the top 5. Because the coding exercises are automatically scored, I can quickly see which candidates have the highest skill levels.
Cons: We wanted to send out auto-rejection emails to candidates who did poorly on the tests but it wasn’t included in our package.

Other platforms we tried in the past did not have everything we were looking for to assess both entry level and senior applicants. We're now able to create really realistic and professional projects for senior level developers.
Pros: It's the first platform I could use for senior developers as well as entry-level developers.With the entry level applicants, I used coding-challenges and videos. The senior applicants got a realistic job simulation that included code review, code design, and a simple coding project. Strongly recommend! (also, consult with the team, they have been really helpful).
Cons: Though the tests can be written in any language, the platform itself for its users is only supported in English for now.

Really easy to customize the test and we quickly started sending it out to candidates within the first day of using Canditech. I recommend the Canditech platform to all of my colleagues.
Pros: I was using Canditech in my previous role. The platform had provided us with a fantastic pre-made product/data analyst test. All we had to do was fill in our company's details and play around with the scenario a bit, and we were good to go in sending it along to candidates the first day of using Canditech. The combination of data analysis tasks, marketing tasks, and testing of general skills really helped us make confident and quick hiring decisions.
Cons: Our product manager role had a bit of UI/UX responsibilities, which Canditech didn’t have a test for, but instead we had candidates upload a file with a design project.

We’re really understanding our R&D candidates on a deeper level aside from only their technical and coding skills. The quality of our hires is much greater and our candidates all reported they felt the test was a fair evaluation of their skills.
Pros: We were previously using a platform that only assessed our R&D candidates’ coding and technical skills - which is important, but doesn’t allow you a full insight into who the candidate actually is. There is so much more to learn about each candidate - their communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, English language level, and even the candidates motivation and personality to ensure they’re a good cultural fit. Canditech really took our tests to another level and I think our candidates really appreciate that we’re trying to understand them on such a deep level.
Cons: We requested Canditech to add pair-programming tests. I think it's going to be available in a few months and we’re excited about that feature.
