I was really glad to find something customizable that worked well for my chiropractic clinic. It worked for me for many years until I decided to use a different program that was more specific to my field.
Pros: Customizable and worked with my chiropractic business, from the get-go. It was free at first, and then transitioned to a paid model.
Cons: It wasn't chiropractic specific. It wasn't a big deal, but it did mean it included a lot of things I didn't really need.

I have had a good experience overall with the onboarding and support from the team as we set up a practice. It has been a smooth transition.
Pros: I love the patient management of Dr Chrono. It is fully integrated with everything needed to see a patient, chart the visit, and manage medications!
Cons: My biggest frustration is simple - I don't want the system automatically posting ERAs on me. I want to go through them individually and publish them. It is the most efficient way to manage denials.

Overall, drchrome application is user frindly and makes word very efficient. We have been using drchrome for a while and i can say that its multifunctional for the enterprise.
Pros: DrChrono application has been very useful and creates great value for money. It is quite secured though its a cloudbase application. Since we commenced use, our team has efficiently managed our client base, repayment contracts, and reporting.
Cons: DrChrono application demands a huge deal of wife data. Probably due to its cloud base or might be due to data volume of our teams see devided.

Look elsewhere. Support is not helpful. You can submit a support ticket which results in either an awareness of an issue with no steps for resolution, or a flat out we can't reproduce your issue, sorry. They called and texted 150 of my clients at 2am, took no accountability for it and can not promise it won't happen again. I turned my reminders off completely, losing major functionality. There isn't a person you can contact or talk to about issues. A support ticket is your only option. And when you want to talk about contract issues, you wait weeks to get someone and multiple submissions about the same issue. There are so many buggy problems, appointments that don't save, billing that doesn't save, or requires multiple refresh or changes to take effect.
Pros: I have a hard time with the pro list. I used drchrono for over 10 years. The cost i guess is the biggest pro?
Cons: Support is terrible. No help, no answers and no solutions. Bugs that result in enties not saving, having to change and save multiple times for one item. The software send calls and texts to 150 of my clients at 2am and offered no explanation or consideration.

It was very user-friendly at the beginning up to 10 years ago. Things went down slightly until their recent sale of the platform to a new company, where it took a downward slide in quality.
Pros: Nothing is of value with this EMR now. We are constantly struggling to save time and money with it. stay out of this EMR if you want to have a smooth office EMR.
Cons: Unavailability and unreliability of tech support are the major problems. They are now locking you into an entire year of contract without telling you, and increasing their premium without giving you a chance to transfer data to another EMR.
Yasmina E. · Physician · Medical Practice · December 28, 2025
Several major disappointments, but most recently Dr Chrono implemented a new policy that the EMR will not allow any staff, not even licensed staff, RN, LPN, etc, to send in a non-controlled prescription. All Prescriptions, even a BP refill can only be sent by the provider. This is not a new regulation from the state medical boards or DEA, and that same non-controlled RX can be called in by those same staff members. In a busy medical practice, providers do not have time to review a draft prescription and send in all the new prescriptions, much less all the routine refills and med changes, based on standing orders. Makes no sense to put these barriers in healthcare. These providers are already over worked and UNDER paid.
Pros: The pros were pricing in the beginning, but the functionality has continued to decline, and we will be moving to another EMR. For the reasons stated below
Cons: Management and IT are making updates and policy updates that don't even work in the medical field. They need a board of clinical and administrative personnel to advise on functionality. They are making changes that will run customers off!!

Myself and my team have had nothing but problems for years with DrChrono. The only reason we didn't switch to a better platform sooner was because my entire practice and systems were built around the software so switching and training on new software was such a huge undertaking (and they are aware of that and why they raise prices 10-15% each year for their customers). We lost soooo much time and money with all the issues we've had with them. After deciding to leave and switch to a better software, they have now sent us to collections for the remaining 2 months they say we owe for the software we are no longer using. I should be suing them for all of the mishandled insurance claims, security breaches and lost medical records that patients are requesting. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE TERRIBLE!
Pros: Starting out as a new provider opening my practice I had only ever worked with DrChrono as an intern at a different practice and he didn't have much positive or negative things to say about the software but I decided to sign up with them when I opened. In the beginning (about 8 years ago) there were less features, it wasn't as expensive per month and the customer service was decent.
Cons: As time went on and they kept launching new features (most we didn't use) the platform became more and more unstable. We started having issues with online booking and in total lost prob 20k or more in lost revenue from all the issues, time spent dealing with poor and frankly rude customer service reps. After about 6 months of them trying to fix all the issues they then raised the price of the software every year, and required a year contract in excess of over 1500 a month for a small practice with 3 providers. Software like Jane and Chirotouch charge a third of that and have far less issues. At one point we had over 15 support tickets open because insurance claims were coming back incorrect, appts were vanishing from our schedule, the software would go offline for hours during normal working business hours and many many other issues.

Pros: Easy to view schedule, simplified without the fluff. Many customizable features for documentation and notes which can be used for a variety of medical practices.
Cons: Although it is simplified it is not as intuitive as other scheduling systems. There is a larger learning curve for front desk staff. User permissions are also overly complex with too many menu options.

After committing to DrChrono I discovered the system is virtually unusable without major workarounds. The interface is outdated, non-intuitive, and clunky — basic workflows require excessive clicks, tabs and navigation that make daily use inefficient. The implementation phase dragged for months, full of delays, unresolved issues and staff-downtime that disrupted practice operations. The training offered was insufficient: generic, basic, did not address our specialty’s workflow or busy-practice realities. Support is slow, often unhelpful, and you’re essentially locked into a contract with minimal freedom to cancel or exit—even when the system clearly fails to deliver on its promises. For any practice seeking a modern, streamlined, user-friendly EHR, I strongly caution against DrChrono. Unless you have a tremendous tolerance for frustration, excessive manual workarounds, and limited vendor accountability, look elsewhere.
Pros: Honestly, there is very little, if anything, positive to say about this platform. After months of using DrChrono, I could not identify a single feature that worked reliably or added real value to our workflow. The system’s interface, performance, and usability issues overshadow any minor conveniences it might offer. Even the supposed “benefits” like cloud access or mobile tools are poorly executed and frustrating to use. From start to finish, this software was a constant source of wasted time and aggravation. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities worth mentioning.
Cons: DrChrono is a complete disappointment on every level. The system is outdated, painfully slow, and nearly impossible to navigate. Nothing is intuitive — every action takes multiple steps that make no sense. Implementation dragged on for months with no clear guidance, and the “training” was useless, leaving our staff completely unprepared. Support is unresponsive and dismissive, often taking days or weeks to reply. Even worse, canceling the contract is almost impossible, trapping you in a system that doesn’t work. Every aspect — design, functionality, service, and communication — feels broken. This software has been an expensive and exhausting mistake.

Pretty good. My doctor uses it for scheduling and doing appointments so you don’t have to go into the office
Pros: I like the easy scheduling option but the video often does not work or hard to log into to join the video call
Sheri P. · Office admin · Accounting · October 30, 2025
If you add a provider your monthly goes up, but if you let a provider go the bill never goes down. Over several years we ended up paying 3 times more per month than what our actual provider head count. Very expensive.
Pros: It is new modern software. It looks great but has a long way to go to actually work properly. If you like to use reports to track your business performance don't use Dr. Chrono the numbers are Not Accurate.
Cons: Financial Numbers are not accurate! Someday it might be a good software platform when it is fully developed. But as of today non of the actual financial numbers from provider production to billing can be trusted. It is impossible to reconcile we have tried it does not work.

Pros: They have identified features that would be helpful to integrate in an EHR. There are a few options for customizing forms and templates.
Cons: Poor reliability. Things break all the time, and then when you make a help ticket, the help desk gaslights you trying either blame user error, or claim that the problem doesn't really exist. Eventually, you get them to understand the problem, but then it takes weeks to solve a ticket, if ever.
Katherine K. · PMHNP · Mental Health Care · May 29, 2025
Pros: Its easy to navigate and self teach without calling support constantly
Cons: Support takes FOREVER to get back on a ticket
lauren g. · office manger · Hospital & Health Care · February 27, 2025
Very expensive for not enough included features. It did not last in my practice as the used EHR.
Pros: As both a Chiropractor and Functional Medicine Physician, I appreciated Dr. Chrono having the EHR set up for chiro, while being integrated with Fullscript for supplements.
Cons: A lot of things, unfortunately. There is a monthly fee for documents and forms to be used on the EHR. There was no integrated 2-way texting, so that had to be integrated 3rd party. The scheduler options for making patient careplans were severely limited compared to other EHRs. Other 3rd party integrations were needed to complete the EHR, which should not be the case for the price.
Chris D. · Owner · Alternative Medicine · January 17, 2025
Very poor support system. Takes them 3-5 business days to respond to a simple issue. Billing system is also very poor.
Pros: The scheduling is ok but everything else is hassle.
Cons: I hired a doctor and for me to add him i had to sign the contract for 1yr. He quit within 2 months, now they wanted me to continuously pay for the monthly premiums despite the fact he's gone and there's no use there. So image paying $$600/month for a provider who's no longer practicing. After speaking to their executive team, [sensitive content hidden] stated it would be a breach a contract which is complete bullshit. very disappointed
Moisey S. · owner · Alternative Medicine · December 16, 2024
Overall experience has has been great! [sensitive content hidden] who who worked me to set everything up was a wonderful instructor and answered all my questions. She was accessible if I had questions outside of the instruction time. I also had another issue and they helpe me to understand to correct the issue.
Pros: Once I have used it I can navigate easily. I am srtill learning but it has been working great!
Cons: There really isn't anything I dislike. It's just learning everything. I do wish they had a user guide.

It is satisfactory. What i like about using Dr.Chrono is the easy way on maneuvering it. The flexibility of the tool and it is an all in one access to patient’s records.
Pros: The accessibility on checking schedules and creating one. You can also add task and make communication logs. You are also able to upload documents of patients in chart.
Cons: The loading time.Sometimes it takes time for the tool to load and also if you arw not using it. It automatically log you out in the system and you need to log in again.

In my experience, this is great software and it’s easy to use. I deal with medical records everyday and it keeps me on my toes
Pros: This is great to use for anyone that has to deal with medical records. It helps keep you organized
Cons: I didn’t notice anything that I didn’t really like about it because it was so helpful for me
Abby J. · Medical Records · Alternative Medicine · November 24, 2024
Terrible. They are not communicating with each other and keep saying “we have a ticket xxx open and we will get back with you”…when I think I’ve communicated with someone and resolved my issue, someone else comes back with a new ticket #, and it starts all over again….
Pros: Scheduling part and ability to store reports
Cons: Inability to talk to a person or directly email a person. Even the chat feature is automated. About to have to close my companies doors because of the economy, and have been trying for almost 6 months to get out of my contract (I’ve been in for 10 years), and during the attempts, they renewed my contract for another year and are saying I need to pay another year’s fees to cancel. I can barely make ends meet and I’m the only one working here and I cannot cancel…
Kelly G. · Owner · Medical Practice · October 23, 2024
I really did like this EMR but could not justify paying so much when I could get something similar for half the cost.
Pros: I love how all necessary features were integrated.
Cons: The cost was too much for me per month just getting started.
Chandra S. · PMHNP-BC · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 21, 2024
Pros: Web based and ipad/phone app seemed easy to access
Cons: Oh where to begin on this? Endless runaround from start to finish - just scheduling a call with someone to help set up things took a month. Then they say I needed to go through enrollment, which makes sense but this was never discussed a month prior. Then there were some issues on the backend with enrollment process which no one got back to me on. Essentially paid for 3 months of "service" with zero to show for it, complete waste of time for myself and the rest of my group. I can't believe this product is as highly rated as it is, the customer service is beyond bad. EMR is just OK, a little clunky to put in notes, it appeared to be a glorified spreadsheet on top of a data backend.
Samuel C. · Owner · Medical Practice · September 5, 2024
Overall satisfactory experience, I have my medical appointments scheduled, improvised reminders. It enables optimised patient data management. I use it to track my billing and invoicing. The payment options are limited.
Pros: I like the set of features they have - compliant to data safeguarding standards, managing historical customer medical history, effective scheduling and management of appointments
Cons: The cost is high, integration of several tools is complex, the sync is missing. Complex to use overall
Alfiya m. · Software Engineer · Computer & Network Security · August 31, 2024
I love this software it puts all the information i need to code and bill in one place instead of having to use several before.
Pros: I like how easy it is to find my ICD10 codes with this software. You can submit the codes right from the software.
Cons: Some of the settings are hard to find but once you get it setup it runs smooth and makes billing and coding easy.
Ezra M. · Owner · Luxury Goods & Jewelry · August 28, 2024
All DrChrono cares about is the contract and they do not care about their software working or doing what they said and showed it would in the demo. Trying to work with them to get to a solution was unsuccessful. Also, it was very difficult to get ahold of the customer support as well. This has cost me many patients due their software not working, including OnPatient. I will actively show any one that wants to know how they respond to their customers. I have emails with screenshots and closing out tickets without developing a solution.
Pros: The salesperson was very good, but was not accurate on what the functionality of DrChrono.
Cons: Customer support was absolutely horrific. We had many questions and issues and put in help tickets with screen shots and emails from patients about issues accessing the scheduling function, medical forms, and not being able to checkin online. All of these tickets were marked as resolved even though nothing was resolved despite submitting more tickets for the same issues. All we were told was that it looked fine on there side and there was no problem. After six months of trying to get all of this fixed and functional it was never fixed. The only thing that was consistent is them taking my payment. You will have to sign a contract and we would have had to go to court to get out of the contract that they were on breach of and we determined it was cheaper to pay them then fight it. We paid six months and did not use them and I glad to be rid of them.
