Our overall experience is positive, aside from issues with the help desk being not very responsive at all.
Pros: I enjoy how they continually make upgrades to make the platform compatible with the ever-changing healthcare system.
Cons: I don't like how you cannot go back and edit a message once you send it to a fellow employee in Practice Fusion. And also think about their help portal is not very helpful.

I have used practice fusion for many years and have had a great experience. The customer support is fantastic and they have a great product.
Pros: Practice Fusion is a great EHR system. They are a simple easy to learn program that can do everything that you need.
Cons: The biggest flaw is not being able to set diagnosis codes as inactive - they allow for billing of codes that are not right / left specific

As an admin in a clinical setting, Practice Fusion is cool when it comes to clinical record task like patient charts, clinical notes and e-prescribing but when it comes to administrative task like billing and scheduling i will have to use other product alongside it which does not make working with this particular EMR software favourable for me.
Pros: I like the fact that Practice Fusion center on clinical data like patient medical records, doses, medication list,e-prescribing, and charting. And it's use in small to medium sized medical settings. Because it's a cloud based EMR opening patient chart on screens loads fairly quickly and running basic task doesn't lag. But if internet connectivity is not strong enough it tend to slow down when loading patient chart.
Cons: Its does not focus on administrative operations such as billing and scheduling like other Electronic Medical Records.

Very good. For a while when it was free i thought it would would be the leader in EHR for it's accessibility
Pros: It's so easy. It's essentially the 1st EHR I used. The text fields are spacious, the boxes to check are good sizes too
Cons: It was free for a while with advertisement banners which i didn't mind. Later there were fees to use, which disheartened my employers
Melissa Z. · User · Medical Practice · February 25, 2026
It is the most comprehensive medical EHR on the market. We were involved with Practice Fusion for over 15 years, and it is tailor-made for Pediatrics in all factors, including vaccine inventory tracking and reporting.
Pros: It is structured in SOAP form for easy documentation and scheduling, and produced useful reports to meet government required reporting.
Cons: The glitches in updates were challenging at times, but they all worked out over time. It is by far the least complicated EHR on the market.
Josef N. · BUSINESS MANAGER · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 5, 2026
Initially, it was a great experience, but as the time went, it did not keep up with the needs at the time
Pros: It was a well designed, and well integrated program that was user friendly. It was priced well and very useful
Cons: The program got expensive to use and some of the features were lagging behind. Customer service was lacking at times
David M. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 25, 2025
Great tool that is user intuitive so we are able to get new team members up and running quickly with minimal hands on training required.
Pros: Easy to use EMR that allows are practice to scale up as we continue to grow. As a private clinic, having this ability is critical.
Cons: The UI needs some updating in some areas. Some of the functions can feel a bit dated but it does not affect the functionality.
James L. · Franchise Administrator · Health, Wellness and Fitness · October 20, 2025
Pros: I like how easy it is to set up and learn how to use
Cons: There are more interruptions than other EMRs
Zainab A. · Clinic Nurse Manager · Hospital & Health Care · April 24, 2025
Poor communication: Unresponsive, inconsistent, unclear, misleading, and unprofessional.
Pros: Unfortunately, I never got to use the feature that I needed. I cannot speak to any Pros for this reason.
Cons: I signed up for Practice Fusion's 14-day free trial intending to use their ePrescribe feature. I submitted my license verification form on day one, but didn't receive a response until after the trial ended--only then was I informed that ePrescribe is not included in the trial. I was told to restart the process and was assured it would be expedited. Days passed with no update. When I followed up, I was instructed to submit a notarized letter and supporting documents, which I prepared at my own expense. The day before my scheduled notary appointment, I was abruptly informed that my account had been deactivated for being "fraudulent," with no prior notice or explanation. This experience cost me time, money, and delayed other parts of launching my practice. I do not recommend this company.
Rebecca M. · Family Nurse Practitioner · Hospital & Health Care · April 21, 2025
It is affordable and ok to use. But overall the product just always feels like it needs an update.
Pros: Easy to navigate and use. Great for charting and e-prescribing.
Cons: Hard to get ahold of any one in customer service
Melissa D. · Patient Coordinator · Medical Practice · April 11, 2025
Overall, I was happy with my experience with Practice Fusion.
Pros: Patient information was super easy to access.
Cons: When wanting to delete an appointment, it was rather difficult to delete an appointment.
Cindy B. · Patient Coordinator · Mental Health Care · February 22, 2025
It satisfied what we need in the initial months of our practice, but we quickly outgrew the software.
Pros: When it was free, it provided a decent platform for basic scheduling while we were building our practice.
Cons: The notetaking was very clunky and took too long to complete a basic note.
Ross K. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 20, 2025
It was easy to start with, but needed an EHR system that was more efficient eventually for the patient load as it increased.
Pros: It was an easy basic software system to start up with. It didn’t have as many features then as it does now, but it was still exactly what we needed to get the ground running at first in our practice at the time.
Cons: Doing Notes was way too much/complicated/time consuming as the patient load started to increase.

I am unable to talk to a live person. My current position in their call queue could be 1 and I will still be on hold forever. When you call, they are always on holiday, or at lunch, or they don't answer. Live chat always says "No agents available." And they only respond to the tickets that are not about errors they have made. If it's about their customer service, they don't answer.
Pros: The pricing is reasonable. The system has the basics of what's needed to document patient records.
Cons: The system lacks customizable reporting, layouts, and functionality in pretty much all areas of the EHR. For the cost, I can live with no customization. However the customer service is so lacking in this company that it will cause me to find another system when my renewal is up. They don't answer the phones, the live chats are non existent. They are selective on which tickets they respond to. Worst customer service I have dealt with in a very long time. Not worth the savings in cost.

Pros: Practice Fusion is the best. I have used it for over 8 years now... It is very user friendly... All staff get trained and use it right away because of how well it is organized and all the items are categorized.
Cons: It used to be for free... Now it's now... But it's still great to use...
Mary T. · President · Professional Training & Coaching · December 5, 2024
We used it at the clinic for everyday uses
Pros: It was easy to learn and when I got used to it, it was easy to teach others
Cons: We didn't use it for very long due to switching to a system that our billing department used
Kirsten W. · Patient Cordinator · Medical Practice · November 21, 2024
Worked great for me for my first few years in practice.
Pros: The free version was ideal. Easily create templates and document patient encounters.
Cons: Doesnt track metrics visit to visit. You have to know what you're doing to make sure you're documenting correctly.
NICHOLAS F. · Chiropractor · Hospital & Health Care · October 24, 2024
It was decent experience overall. It was good to start a small practice but needed more when the practice grew
Pros: The affordability! When starting the practice, it was most affordable to get practice up and running
Cons: It was not simple to use; with a lot of various steps to get things done. Not enough templates
Walterson T. · Professional Counselor · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 21, 2024
From bad to worse, there's no end to this poor customer support performance.
Pros: Easy to use for anyone at every level in the office.
Cons: Customer support, functionality and frequent breakdowns. Mostly NOT supportive staff, burning ( wasting) your time and not providing answers. I've used this platform for over 10 years now, and it's going from bad to worse. I'm already shopping for an alternative.
Filip T. · COO · Health, Wellness and Fitness · August 26, 2024
Great. We recommend to all our doctors who are looking for a better system.
Pros: Practice Fusion is easy to use and a great way to keep electronic records. I love that it's web-based so I can get to it from anywhere.
Cons: There is not really anything I don't like about it.
Erin P. · Manager and Owner · Medical Practice · August 15, 2024
Used approximately 35-40 different instances of Practice Fusion. Only one email can be used so we had to create 35-40 fake emails to enable access across multiple instances. To much variability in where data can reside.
Pros: The program is low cost. The program is intuitive to use.
Cons: Redundancy- to many places for one thing to reside depending on who entered it or practice patterns.
Rhonda B. · Team Lead · Health, Wellness and Fitness · August 5, 2024
Was good very user friendly easy to train new staff ease of understanding
Pros: Easy to use was free gives free transfers once user friendly
Cons: Cost they increased price suddenly her was working really well but cost was pretty high and was using office ally for billing
Leena S. · Md · Medical Practice · April 1, 2024
Pros: Is user-friendly, has great accessibility, and cost-effective. But I can not leave without mentioning customizable templates and the time that you don’t waste.
Cons: The only thing I would mention will be speed issues because affect workflow and efficiency.
Angelica C. · Educator · Health, Wellness and Fitness · November 9, 2023
Pros: e_prescribing is good and overall the EMR is not terribly annoying for me as a medical provider. It does not include good features for my therapist colleagues.
Cons: It is now expensive and the support is minimal. The terms of subscription are inflexible and chat support is non responsive to requests for help including simply providing contact to advance a concern to decision makers in the company
Pebble K. · Medical Director, Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · October 6, 2023
customer service is non existent, the implementation classes they offer are rushed and then shed a light on all the services that they do not include... such as purchasing your own license just to have the ability to use CPT codes??? i have NEVER heard of such a thing.
Pros: NOTHING !!!! AVOID this EMR at all costs
Cons: I was told by the sales person that everything i was looking for was included, then i did a free trial which did not give you COMPLETE access. beware, the price does not include EPCS, and there are NO CPT codes... unless you purchase your own CPT license or you cannot enter a single procedure code or anything to do with screening. you also have to manually enter each modifier as they also so not come included. I tried to cancel my subscription within 25 days of signing up with them and they said NO. they are dishonest and will hold you to this even if you are completely unhappy with their product... I will tell every fellow physician i know to avoid this product at all costs. Apparently they care more about getting their money then having satisfied physicians using their EMR who would actually refer others to it.
