Overall, my experience with eClinicalWorks has been positive. It’s a powerful system that can support both clinical and operational workflows, but it requires time, training, and customization to get the most value out of it. Once properly configured, it becomes a strong tool for managing patient care, documentation, and population health initiatives in a busy practice.
Pros: eClinicalWorks is a comprehensive all-in-one system that supports EHR, practice management, and patient engagement. The customization, especially Smart Forms and workflow tools, allows you to tailor processes to your clinic. Once optimized, it works well for high-volume practices and helps streamline documentation and daily operations.
Cons: The system has a steep learning curve and can feel overwhelming at first. Some workflows are not intuitive, and reporting/data extraction can be limited without advanced configuration. It often requires ongoing optimization and training to fully maximize its capabilities.

I have had the best experience working with eCW and wish all RCMs could work just like this one!!!!!
Pros: eCW is the Cadillac of softwares! It works so well in every single way. It has fantastic patient management and revenue cycle management. Working denials and posting claims is a breeze. It gives you easy views of a patient's chart and unpaid claims.

Overall i am very satisfied with all the years of experience i have with eClinicalWorks. There are endless features and it can be of use for just about any medical practice.
Pros: For years my experience with eClinicalWorks has proven that it provides a one size fits all solution that simplifies the difficulties with work in patient care.
Cons: Sending medications and prescriptions is a bit challenging when a change or update to a patient chart occurs.

I've been using eClinicalWorks for almost 2 years now and not much has changed. It needs to be a little more user friendly and have more features and ways to do/search/view things.
Pros: They updated a few things for our company, like a different way to see provider's schedules which is a lot more comfortable and easy.
Cons: It still needs some work and more options, specially when searching for a patient's chart. It should be easier for people who work on reports and have to go through a lot of charts in a short period of time.

I think that once you get the hang of it, then it seems to be robust but I also think there is TOO much information and steps to make it user friendly.
Pros: There is a lot of information in one place on the dashboard and the color coded schedule makes it easy for users to identify open appointments at a glance.
Cons: You can only have 1 user at a time in the patient profile which doesn't help for training purposes. Also, the dashboard is very busy.

Overall I can say it is a good software, it was a good experience. I do recommend i for the healthcare field.
Pros: What I liked about it was that it was easy to navigate, It did not take long for me to know where to find what I was looking for.
Cons: All the information you are able to see in just one screen, it was a little overwhelming at first though.

Overall, I find eclinicalworks to be efficient, affordable and easy to use on a daily basis. I would recommend it to colleges and choose this platform to manage my files over any other medical management platform.
Pros: I find that eclinicalworks s extremely geared to ensurng files are organized and easy to retrieve when I am under time constraints.
Cons: I do still need to spend a reasonable amount of time with each file regardless of daily time restraints which is understandable and I see that with all platforms I use.

The system itself is okay, but it is a behemoth that is used to being the big guy and didn't realize that smaller ones were providing the same service at a much lower cost. I went from over $1200 a month to $400 a month once I changed EHRs. eCW was slowly killing my practice. Once I decided to leave them, they provided me with my patient record in a format that no one was ever able to access. I had to start from scratch.
Pros: it is a very exhaustive EMR system with many functions and features that allow you to do a lot with your clinic. It is easy to apply templates and charting in a way you prefer. The patient portal is great. Easy to provide portals for the whole family without requiring everyone to have a separate email address.
Cons: They charge extra for everything, which makes it hard to grow. For instance. They charge per virtual visit, which means your bill is never the same. They also charge for you to use an iPad, there is an extra monthly charge for the clearing house, an extra charge annually for ECPS, an extra charge for the integrated scribe, and so on. For a small practice, it can be prohibitive and very draining.

Overall, my experience with eClinicalWorks was positive. It offers comprehensive tools for managing patient records and clinical workflows, though there is a learning curve.
Pros: I liked that eClinicalWorks centralizes patient records, scheduling, and documentation in one system, which helps streamline daily workflows.
Cons: The system can feel complex at times, and some features require additional training to use efficiently. Navigation can be challenging, and certain workflows are not as intuitive as they could be.
Tabatha W. · Nursing Supervisor · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 15, 2026
Overall I am just grateful that there is a system in place so I am happy to have this product. It is great!
Pros: I like how there is finally a system in place to communicate with my neurologist with questions about my visit.
Cons: the booking appointment isn't the most user friendly, so i always have to call to make appointments.
Elizabeth H. · MYSELF · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 26, 2025
Overall, I am satisfied with my many years of using eClinicalWorks. I do think it’s a great electronic health record but it could be improved upon and updated.
Pros: The user interface is especially easy to learn and use for daily charting and schedule management. The color coding really helps as well.
Cons: I don’t like how there are too many clicks to get to certain areas of the portal. Ease of access is there but it could be improved upon.
Brandon M. · Medical Assistant · Hospital & Health Care · December 18, 2025
Negative. That's the way i would describe my experience. Having been a PA for the past 6 years, i can honestly say it has made my job harder.
Pros: There have been few pros to ECW. The 1 thing i do appreciate is the patient portal is relatively easy to access for both the provider and the patient.
Cons: I would describe ECW as being too "clicky." It takes multiple clicks to achieve simple tasks. Sending medications is a nightmare, doing something as simple as changing a pharmacy to send a medication takes 10 clicks. The interphase is simple not comparable to a larger network like Epic. The mobile app is a nightmare, dictation is slow.
Joe C. · Physician Assistant · Health, Wellness and Fitness · December 10, 2025
Too many promises, and not enough follow through on very basic requests. The Customer Service reps are obsessed with closing tickets (it must be how they are monitored and bonused) that it doesn't matter if the issue has been resolved, the ticket is going to be closed. They tell you to open a new one and start all over again if something doesn't work
Pros: I don't have many pros about eClinicalWorks, other than it integrates with other platforms so we can have a functional EHR/PM system since it can't stand alone.
Cons: eClinical Works is an EHR, but not one of the best in my opinion. During the sales process, so many things were promised, and yet, never delivered. Customer Support is non-existent, and when you do get help, you can barely understand them because of the language barrier. Its Reporting functionality is dismal, at best. It is unable to capture the most basic data to track KPIs. We can't even run a decent no-show report, which is an industry standard report.
Dawn L. · Practice Administrator · Hospital & Health Care · December 4, 2025
absolutely awful, they take 6 weeks to give you your data after charging 950 and give it to you such that you have to be an expert to download it . Right now they want to charge all my 9 providers while we are waiting for medical records even though there is no contract obligations, they will try to nickel and dime everything... very traumatic experience being with them. I am so much happier with my new company
Pros: Absolutely nothing, they run on some apparent previous popularity. i dont know of one person who is actually happy with it. They try to sell to hospitals because doctors hate it.
Cons: i have finally switched, they took 3 months and lots of problems letting me go including offering to cut down the price by more than 50%. Be aware, they not only charge but also take a larger cut from the credit card company , labs , radiology to connect the software so those guys charge you more.
Aamr H. · MD · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 13, 2025
Not user-friendly at all. You have to know everything to find everything. Can't save things on the go
Pros: Nothing. I had problem after problem since its installation. One of the worse product in the market. Unfortunately change is very difficult.
Cons: Switching over to ECW was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life. ECW is a pile of patchwork accumulated over last few decades. Every time there is upgrade there is a new problem I have to start fresh
Satnam S. · MD · Health, Wellness and Fitness · September 10, 2025
Awful support structure. Hard to get the techs to understand your problem. Accessing any of their platforms requires multiple factor authentication, so it makes dealing with them even more difficult.
Pros: Relatively easy to maneuver for basic charting and billing. A lot of functionality, but everything is an additional cost and keeping up with the constant upgrades and ancillary products can be difficult
Cons: Customer service is a head ache. No issue/question is ever an easy solution. Everything requires a ticket, so you are constantly waiting on them to call you at their convenience.
Chris F. · Director · Medical Practice · July 2, 2025
It's been very good. The system is easy to navigate and learn. They have an excellent training section. The help desk is very quick to respond anytime I've had an issue or a question.
Pros: It's very user friendly. I like that you can access both medical and admin information at the same time
Cons: The inability to send in office messages attached to a patient's chart. I would like to be able to send a message to a provider regarding a patient and have it attached to the patients chart
Tiffany W. · Office Manager · Medical Practice · July 2, 2025
Pros: What I like most about eClinicalsWorks is the Accessibility’s of it. I liked how it was easy to learn when trained.
Cons: What I liked least about eClinicalWorks is not being able to see patient records from different outpatient providers.
Elizabeth G. · Medical Assistant · Medical Practice · June 13, 2025
I would give this a 10/10. When my old work used this software I enjoyed it so much I wish my new job had it.
Pros: It allows you to personalize the charts and documents the way you want them to be. Also it allows you to look up a patients PMP from the software.
Cons: I don’t think there is anything about this program that I like the least. If I had to pick something it would be not being able to chat amount coworkers in the system.

This product has reshaped the way operate. Its state of the art features has a huge impact on our daily operations. Experience has been game changing
Pros: User friendly, effective, efficient, consolidates everything in one place, designed with you in mind
Cons: I would love to have a mobile application of the product. That would allow access on the go as an additional option.
Courtney C. · Human resource manager · Transportation/Trucking/Railroad · May 4, 2025
Please do not use this electronic medical records system. They are a scam, and extremely misleading. Companies like this extort medical practices and provide lack luster services. Filling with technical difficulties and even worse customer service interaction. Please stay away.
Pros: Only cons no pros with this company, please take heed.
Cons: Only cons nothing positive to say about the experience with this company.
William S. · Office manager · Hospital & Health Care · April 9, 2025
Subpar in comparison to other software like EPIC.
Pros: Templates notes. They are easy to use and convenient.
Cons: • Very difficult user interface • Difficult to locate notes and other encounters from previous visits
Mohammed M. · physician · Hospital & Health Care · April 4, 2025

Pros: With a simple-to-use interface, eClinicalWorks simplifies patient care, billing, and documentation. Integrating EHR with scheduling and billing tools cuts mistakes and saves time.
Cons: Especially when processing great data sets, the system can be slow at times. Its steep learning curve as well can be difficult for inexperienced people to negotiate deftly.
Anonymous User · An MBBS Student · Hospital & Health Care · April 3, 2025
I enjoyed the software speed and efficiency as well as the ease of use when training new users
Pros: Patient Portals, Automated Task box and appt scheduling
Cons: Expensive and poor customer service and issues with connections
Adrian L. · Nurse · Medical Practice · March 30, 2025
I have never had any issues with eClinicalworks or their software. The customer service is top notch and they are always a phone call away.
Pros: eClinicalworks is one of the most robust EMR's on the market. It gives you everything you need for your practice.
Cons: eClinicalworks is known for the amount of "clicks" it takes to complete a task. This is a bit much, but they are aware.
